Showtime Announces New Addition To Boxing Team

Gus Johnson joins Showtime.

Showtime has recently announced a new addition to its Showtime Championship Boxing sports series. Senior Vice President and General Manager, Ken Hershman announced that play-by-play broadcast veteran of CBS Sports, Gus Johnson, signed with Showtime Networks Inc. to host and call the action .

"I an thrilled to join Showtime. And as a division of CBS, my work with Showtime will be complementary to that", Johnson stated.

Johnson will replace Steve Albert, who previously served as play-by-play voice for the network since 1987. He will join Al Bernstein on the monthly series.
