Yankees sign 1B Mark Teixeira

They did it yet again....

The New York Yankees have agreed to an 8-year, $180 million contract with free agent first basemen Mark Teixeira. Teixeira was believed to be down between two teams, the Orioles and Red Sox, but clearly there was another team contending. Teixeira will replace veteran Jason Giambi, who has been the Yankees first basemen since 2002.

I heard that RVD was being signed to a one-shot deal for $180 million to play center field. He will replace Melky Cabrera at that position.
