Alex Rodriguez Admits to Steriod Use
Posted by Cody Dalton on 02.09.2009
Breaking News: The Yankees slugger takes the honest road.
Rodriguez comes clean
"I did take a banned substance. For that, I am very sorry and deeply regretful."
That's what was said in an interview with ESPN's Peter Gammons today, as Yankees third basemen Alex Rodriguez admitted to using steroids between 2001-2003, during his time with the Texas Rangers. Rodriguez went on to say:
"When I arrived in Texas in 2001, I felt an enormous amount of pressure, felt all the weight of the world on top of me to perform, and perform at a high level every day."
As to what exactly he took, he went on to say that "To be quite honest, I don't know exactly what substance I was guilty of using."

At least he took the high road and admitted it, not like the rest of those juicers who lied and lied only to be found out in the end.

Kudos for admitting it. I don't think he wants to go out like Clemens.

there is a high road to cheating?

Yankees == Cheaters!!
Only a matter of time....
Investigators: CC Sabathia, Mark Teixeira
YOUR NEXT!!

Its only a matter of time before EVERYONE starts admitting that they used it so they can re-earn the respect they lost.
So long A-Rod.....
Here's a hint, If you are good and are on RoiDs, stay away from the Yankees. Investigators work hard on "big" teams...

The man should not be praised for finally, at long last, telling the truth. He only came clean once he was outed to keep from being hit with a shit storm.

Curt Schilling is right...the only way past all this shit...name the 104 guys, punish them if need be, and lets fucking move on already.

He only admitted it because Sports Illustrated received a leaked report of 100 someodd players from that year who were on steroids and his was the biggest name on the list. He's already lied in the past about his steroid usage. This was damage control, not A-Rod feeling guilty and fessing up for the good of the game.

That argument is ridiculously stupid. It makes no sense. If you're speeding on the highway when there are no cops around, are you gonna pull into a police station, confess, and ask for a ticket. No. I'm not saying he's a saint, but be realistic.

Of course it makes no sense for him to do so if he wasn't getting caught, but that's to those "kudos for admitting it" and "high road" statements, when it really was just damage control.

So if you admit to wrongdoing, you're still a piece of garbage and ESPN "analysts" still don't believe you. But if there's evidence pretty much saying, "Yes, Barry Bonds used steroids in 2003" and he still denies it so he's a piece of garbage too. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't basically.
Why don't we just take up hunting down and killing sports stars and celebrities as an industry? I mean, everyone gets their rocks off taking anonymous cheap shots at people they don't know, never met, and never will anyway, right? Let's just cut out the middle man on this, you know, the 24 hour networks that make this as "important" as it is, and just start hunting Man. Whaddya say, you cream of society 411Mania posters, you? Not the worst idea you've ever heard, after all, most of the people on here are wrestling fans anyway.

A-Fraud, A-Roid...No fucking shit he cheated. Fucking Bum. First Bonds (talking about major players here, not middle of the road), then Clemmens now this fag.

He only admitted to wrongdoing because he was caught, he lied about this wrongdoing already when asked if he did steroids (I believe it as a 60 minutes interview a year or so ago). If he had said back during that interview "Yes, I did steroids" that's different. If he had randomly come out and said "Yes, I did steroids, I'm sorry." That's different. This time was "I didn't do steroids... (time skip) oh crap, they caught me, Ya I did steroids, I'm sorry."
If he's been clean for years now (I'd assume he has been), he didn't need the steroids. If he'd admitted it earlier, it'd probably have been a minor reaction, a kind of "Why, you didn't need them" instead of "Great, the poster boy for not needing steroids was on steroids and lied to us about it. Thanks for reminding us about Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens etc."

A-Rod is only ouy for A-Rod. He only thinks of himself. not his Team or his team mates. His former best friend seems to not even want to be around him. but due to him being the Team Captain he has to stand by his team mate and be positive. I woul much rather have some AAA guys duke it out over 3rd base and save some $27-30 million a year. The biggest thing would be there would be alot less Destractions.
Missing Torry
Go Yankees

He took the high road by admitting that he took the Roids? Maybe, but he really didn't take the blame for it anyway.
"When I arrived in Texas in 2001, I felt an enormous amount of pressure, felt all the weight of the world on top of me to perform, and perform at a high level every day." Total cop out. The guy averaged 39+ hrs a year BEFORE he supposedly started using and because he wanted to justify a huge (largely undeserved for someone who hadn't won ANYTHING before that) contract. I'm not saying that he shouldn't have come clean, but it's not "taking the high road" by saying "yeah I did it" just because you got caught before that. Do you think that he would've EVER said anything if he hadn't been caught? Hardly. If he had said something then it'd be the high road. All that teaches is that if you get caught then you need damage control.
Something else that came up in the interview that wasn't mentioned here p*sses me off and was another cop out was that A-Rod claims that it was a "looser clubhouse" back then, and that others we doing it too. That's like saying "oh well the rest of the club is cutting off their left pinky so I might as well too" Total BS!
