Well once again, the 411 NFL Preview has changed things up. This week we break this up into two sections. For the rest of the season (unless things need to be changed again) I will come with you with the recaps and the 411 tournament as well as giving you my preview of the Thursday night game (something I have yet to do for you this season). The rest of the preview will be given to you on their regular time but be broken up into two parts. Giving you a three-part preview each and every week, exciting huh?

Let's start with how last week ended up:

With Week 15 now in the books and my recap finished, it is time to move on and look ahead. We finish up the first part of my Week 16 preview, with the only preview in the article. The Thursday game is between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the St. Louis Rams, I guess the NFL network felt bad that they had the Green Bay/Dallas game and the upcoming New England/NY Giants game, so they gave themselves some lesser games in there as well…but anyways, here is the preview.

December 20, 2007, 8:15 PM EST – Edward Jones Dome

Last Three Weeks Pittsburgh Steelers: Pittsburgh has lost their last two games, both games against playoff-bound AFC teams. The bad news is that it does not give Pittsburgh very much momentum going into the playoffs, especially after last week when they lost (at home) against the team that they are set to play in the first round of the playoffs at the moment. The good news for the Steelers and their fans is the fact that their final two games are against two non-playoff teams, and are on the road where the Steelers are perfect so far in 2007. I'm still trying to figure out why people have been saying that Ben Roethlisberger is one of the elite quarterbacks in the NFL right now, yes he does have good numbers and is a good player, I will not say he is a bad football player, but one of the elite? Pittsburgh is led by Willie Parker and a solid defense while Roethlisberger, while still a solid player, is kind of just along for the ride. The Steelers should still win their division, but if they end up playing the Jaguars in the first round then their season will end sooner then they would want it to.

St. Louis Rams: St. Louis is one of the many teams worrying more about who they are going to draft then their remaining two games on their schedule. Injuries have played a major factor, but the last two weeks have shown that even if healthy, the Rams would probably only be fighting for an 8-8 record. Steven Jackson finally gave fantasy owners a reason to celebrate after he surpassed the 100-yard for the first time since Week 3, but how many Steven Jackson owners really made the postseason in their leagues this season? The Rams hope to use the running game to keep the game close against a Pittsburgh Steeler team that is facing a ton of injuries on the defensive side and gave up 224 rushing yards last week against the Jaguars.

Prediction: Pittsburgh is still trying to close out their division, but the short week does not allow them to rest up and get healthy on the defensive side. Vegas put the line at the perfect spot, as I believe the game will either end with Pittsburgh winning by either seven or ten points, so to put the line at eight is just mean. The last few early games have surprised people, and usually the home team has come out the victor. So, I will use those trends, added in with Pittsburgh needing the win and say that the Steelers win the game but do not cover the eight.
