The Office 11.07.08: NFL Week 10
Posted by Ken Schmidt on 11.07.2008
The Office returns Dan Owen attempts to close the gap on Melissa Fox while all the division races in the real NFL begin to build towards an exciting climax.
We are back for Week 10 of the NFL here with the Sports Kid and the rest of The Office, following another off week helping get some things straight with school, school, and mainly school. Any college students know what it is like around this time of year, every class is giving the last major test before finals time and of course, it really sets up how much you have to study for the big tests in the beginning of December. I still had enough time to celebrate the Phillies win a little bit, but with a major test on Monday, I felt my celebration was cut a little short. I did make a good amount of money last week as I loved the Eagles and I loved the Giants. I did lose on the Titans, but they were my smallest pick. I have a few good picks for you this week, including me dodging the Eagles in the Sports Kid Units. I am sitting pretty right now for the season with my units at a nice 62 out of 80 (78%).
Sports Kid Units
Titans @ Bears
This one comes down to a game time decision of HOW MUCH money I would put I this game. I might roll the bank roll if I see Rex Grossman is getting the start at quarterback, which looks like the likely scenario considering my separated at birth brother is still recovering from getting carted off the field last week. Rexy is always money for some big interceptions and I don't see the Titans losing this game at all. With the line being just a field goal, it is going to be my biggest pick of the week. 5 Sports Kid Units on the Titans –3
Bills @ Patriots
Let's face it, the Bills hot start is definitely over. They lost a huge game to Jets last week and got embarrassed by the Dolphins a week before that. Why not go for the hat trick against division opponents this week? The Patriots should be able to key in on Marshawn Lynch this game and win a defensive contest. I really wish I could find this line at –3 on game day but until then I will wait and hope it drops a bit. The Pats could be getting their running game healthy again and this game looks like it might have romp all over it. I still hate the –4 and wish it was –3 but gameday could create this to be a bigger game for me. Oh well either way 5 Sports Kid Units on the Patriots –4
The Office
Melissa Fox's lead has dropped to just two games, not through any fault of her own as she had a solid 9 wins last week. However, Dan Owen continues to one up her with his second big week in a row as he went an amazing 11-3 last week. Not much you can do to keep your big lead when D.O. is red hot. Here are the current standings.

Time To Punt
Who would've thought it would be BOTH the East divisions that were the ones competing to send three teams to the playoffs? Could you imagine waking up in a world where the President is an African American, Philadelphia is a world champion, and the Miami Dolphins are going to be the in the Wild Card hunt until the very end of the season? Well I guess you have to take the good with the bad, if the Dolphins want to make it to the playoffs using college-type trick plays then I guess we have accept that. Wildcat formation? What next an all option offense in Atlanta?
