Daaaaaaamn, its cold. The weather just dropped about 10 degrees overnight. The cold wakes me up at about 9am, which is pretty early considering how late I'll be up. I slap on a TNA show to help me wake up and immediately regret it. The show is poor, Destination X '09, and by the time I've gotten past all the undercard drek my wife is home and I turn it off just as AJ Styles is making his way to the ring. Later, AJ, later.
So we settle down to watch Date Night but Maria is coming in and out looking to make some lunch so she never really gets into the movie until the last 30 minutes or so. The smaller roles are actually more fun than the central ones. I expected a little more from Carell & Tina Fey and they don't really deliver in the leads. Although I notice Tina Fey breaks out some genuine acting skills at one point only for the plot to go off in another ridiculous direction. The smaller roles like Ray Liotta as a mobster are a constant delight. I dig on Franco as a criminal low-life and despite the film being incredibly dumb I wind up enjoying it a little. Call it ***. Not the home run it could have been though.
Work sucks because every time I go outside I nearly freeze to death. Then I have to walk over a mile home with my ears threatening to fall off from the low temps. When I get home my wife greets me by going to sleep and I'm left up alone to finish up that TNA show. It disappoints. The main event (Sting-Angle) is so far beyond ludicrous that I end up laughing out loud, genuinely, during the matches closing moments. TNA is such bullshit. With the review written I read a bit from Cracked.com, which is gold as always, and then go to bed by which point its nearly 2am. |
