I literally can't remember what I did Friday morning. Friday night however was driven by my urge to watch Swingers. I remember a time when that movie inspired practically everything we did. Andy used the "this is the guy behind the guy behind the guy" line for our mutual friend Blurt in a club in Southampton. And that shit totally worked! I spent about 18 months introducing him as Doubledown and I went by Sue (Dad was a big Johnny Cash fan). Our friend Jon became Rob from back east. We used to live that movie. It was a huge part of our life. At the end of many a drunken night myself and Andy used to do the "he's all growns up" bit from the diner. I introduced my wife to the movie Friday night trying to draw her in on the basis that one of the guys, Rob from back east, was in Sex and the City.
Saturday was party time. Rocked out the last episodes of season one of the Wire to start the day. Great show, totally loving it. Can't wait for series two. After work Redje & I pounded 26 beers in 3 hours and a bottle of port. Entertainment courtesy of Super Troopers, The Cowboy Way (legendary drunk movie) and Fear & Loathing. By which point we were pretty much hammered. Got to bed about 4am, inebriated. |
