I've been filling my spare time wisely since last I blogged. I moved 3 episodes closer to finishing series 2 of the Wire. Ziggy's drunk duck cracked me up. I love the world they've created for this show. They keep updating the audience as to where all the characters are at and while the police aren't on the Barksdale Organization now we're still keeping tabs on them all. Building those characters up. Its such a good show and I love that they were able to change gears on series 2 while keeping everything good about the show.
I was asked to write a film review for a new project. I selected the Fourth Kind and took it to task. No idea what this website is going to be but the person planning it is someone I trust to do something awesome.
Otherwise I've been working on various columns and reviews. I snatched an opportunity to watch Straw Dogs in the midst of this. I found it hard to relate to any of the characters but when the shit hit the fan Dustin Hoffman's character did the right thing and everything he'd learned about the locals came into play. Solid ending from Peckinpah. It was good storytelling. |
