The mainstream media is currently in frenzy. The statement Barack Obama made at a private fundraiser has been looping non-stop. It’s as if they have found red meat and are frothing at the mouth. Essentially, what Obama said is that in dire economic times people cling to God and other issues. Consequently, they become single issue oriented and are not focused on the larger picture.
Both Hillary Clinton and John McCain, desperate for traction to resurrect their floundering campaigns, hurriedly issued statements accusing Obama of being elitist and out of touch with American values. These remarks coming from the likes of the Clintons who just reported in their tax returns earnings of $109.2 millions in a mere seven years. They forked out a hefty portion of that from cozy relationships from friends and business associates.
It is curious that Hillary Clinton who has consistently lied about her record and resume and can’t wait to “misspeak” about any issue, wants the public to think that she has more credibility. Hogwash! Her campaign has spent months trying to spin her as a regular person, but her tax returns reveal that, far from being an ordinary American, another lie, she has amassed millions.
Then there is McCain who rushed to the microphones, as if pumped up by some Columbian caffeine donated by Hillary Clinton, to proclaim that: “Obama was out of touch.” Coming from McCain one must ask is: McCain just getting up from a drunken stupor? The man has been out of touch and out of step for many years. He has consistently supported Bush’s failing war. He has said economics is not his cup of tea. Yet he wants the American people to think that he is in touch. What crap!
The major players here are the mainstream media, which have over the last few months spent endless news cycles finding non-issues in a calculated attempt to bring down the Obama campaign. So, once again the daggers are drawn, poised to assassinate him over a simple statement that is taken out of context. Networks that have shied away from reporting on his surge in Pennsylvania, the Clinton’s foibles or McCain’s gaffes have suddenly come to life. Again they are proclaiming the end of his campaign. Again they are prepared to nail Obama’s coffin. Again the public lynching is in full swing.
