Who cares really? I'm sure there are people who really enjoy the PS3. I'm not one of them. I've played it and it's alright, I'm more of a 360 fan. But what's the point in bashing it, and telling people they are stupid for owning one?

And to contribute to the discussion, I also own a PS3. Got it cheaper than retail off eBay, but not too much cheaper. And I for one can care less that the other two consoles are selling more. Hell, I'm happy for them; if the Nintendo and Xbox employees have stock options, then good on them. But constantly posting the sales figures and getting some carnal pleasure out of it is borderline sad.
Don't get me wrong, there's nothing "sad" with liking one console over another. If my horse was winning the race, I'd be happy, too. But I wouldn't be flipping off all the other people who didn't bet on it. Comes off petty, if you ask me.

I own all 3 consoles and I enjoy the advantages of all of them. When I have multiple friends over, a 4 player game of mario strikers charged can be a blast. But when I'm alone, the Wii bores me and I tend to flock twards the 360/PS3. I enjoy the First Person Shooters more on the 360 *Halo 3, Rainbow Six Vegas, I'll definitely get COD4 on the 360* but the I'll take the d-pad of the PS3 any day. Fighters, racers, RPG's, the PS3 is the only way to go.
I don't hate any of the consoles, but I don't favor any of them either *The fact that I write the SIXAXIS is just because it was open at the time*. The Wii definitely draws in the casual fans more than the other two combined but if you want the best possible next-gen experience you need a game like Halo 3.

I like the d-pad on the PS3 controller, but after doing the 'd-pad mod' for the 360 (in reality just a lot of sanding) it works just as well. I really hate those damn triggers on the PS3 controller though, I was hoping the Dualshock would fix them.

I have nothing against Sony per se, I just dislike their attitude at times. But regardless, yes, the PS3 dying isn't a good thing, overall, but it's still happening in that the Wii is the crossover console that is bringing in casual fans, which means the 360 and the PS3 are fighting over diehards/serious fans, and the 360 seems to be owning it in these fields, leaving the PS3 without a market. Good or bad, that's the fact, at least that's how it seems to me.

Well I agree Sony can still be very stubborn, but they are a lot better now then they were back in 2006 when it was "you will get the ps3 and like it". My big problem is they're still one big game short of defining the console, and they're putting all of their eggs in the MGS4 basket. They're pushing Killzone 2, but they are definitely aware that MGS4 is their biggest game, and they're not even making it. Uncharted is 2nd party.
I do agree the triggers on the ps3 suck, but sadly the dualshock 3 doesn't appear to fix it judging on the early models.

What's more ridiculous is that they're expecting to become profitable on on each piece of hardware sold - not overall. They lose money on each one still, and they're now about $5 billion US in the hole on the PS3 so far.
They've lost five billion dollars...wiped out the entirety of the profits made on the PS2. That's impressive.
They need to sell a lot of games to make up for that much of a loss to date, especially when they're still incurring losses on new hardware.
If they haven't quit by now, they're obviously not going to. I would bet they're almost eager to jump to a new system though, they'll want to get the jump on Microsoft/Nintendo this time around - or at least not leave someone a year's head start.

I would bet the opposite. You think the developers, especially PS3 exclusive shops, that have suffered for 3 years developing games for a 3rd place console that is just now finally starting to sell are now going to want to jump to a PS4? No way. I would bet Sony sticks with the PS3 for at least two more years before even announcing a new console.
Shit, there might not even be another generation of consoles. But thats another thread.

I would not mind if it takes as long as possible for the new consoles, as it took seemingly forever for any of the consoles to actually be worth buying, imo. (PS3 after the price drop, 360 in 2008, Wii this year)
