I generally dislike his writing, but on that book he's pretty good

Read the first 5 books of Fear Agent. The main character is fun so far. There's a touch of Rick from The Walking Dead in him.

Is Marvel's Civil War comp a good read? Or would I be totally confused seeing as how I haven't read another Marvel comic ever.

It more or less makes sense but I wouldn't say that it's a book I'd recommend either.

If you read Civil war, you almost have to pick-up the FF, Spidey, Cap and Iron Man off shots. I will say the ending is by far the most PCU unimaginative retarded ending of all time. Of course, Joss Whedon pitched. Sadly, the Spidey stuff is probably the best Spidey in a decade.

I've been picking up The Sandman collections over the past few months. Those are totally worthy of the hype. Gaiman's ideas and characterizations are just insanely good. It's crazy re-reading the first couple collections and seeing what was a throw-away line or character come back to be hugely important in a later story. The English major in me also loves all the Skakespeare stuff.

I'm about half way through the Sandman series and Gaiman is fast becoming one of my favourite writers full stop (as in, not just comics). While I was waiting for a couple of trades to be delivered I picked up American Gods which I'd recommend to anyone.

I've only read Good Omens, but I definitely intend on reading more of his books.

Definitely worth it, although Good Omens is definitely more Pratchett flavored.
