And we're rolling... - 11.28.2006

Well, I'm about to post my third article and I'm pretty stoked. I feel incredibly honored that I get a chance to write for this website as there's a lot of great writers on here. I'm finally getting around to filling out my profile. It's a pain in the arse not to have a computer at home so I try to get online as much as I can wherever I can. I'll write more later when I'm not trying to finish an article. Peace. I think.

Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero Review [2] (04.18.2007)
Latest offering from Trent Reznor is an elaborate concept album about the end of the world. The themes are dark, the music is ominous, and the production, as usual, is phenomenal.
Bright Eyes - Cassadaga Review [2] (04.11.2007)
Conor Oberst’s latest long-player is arguably his most religious and politically-minded record to date. It’s not Bright Eyes’ swan song, but there are a few incredible tracks.
Modest Mouse - We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank Review (03.21.2007)
Northwestern-based indie giants make another unbelievable album for Epic Records featuring the likes of Johnny Marr and James Mercer of The Shins.
Korn - Unplugged Review [2] (03.10.2007)
Nu-metal pioneers get in touch with their softer side with help from members of Evanescence and The Cure. The whole concept is daring, but the results are so-so as their music doesn't transfer well acoustically.
The Arcade Fire - Neon Bible Review [2] (03.08.2007)
The little band from Canada that could unleashes second full-length album, Neon Bible. Evading the sophomore slump, this could be one of the best records of 2007.
AFI - Val Air Ballroom - Des Moines, IA - 02.12.07 (03.01.2007)
On the second leg of their Decemberunderground tour, this California quartet marched through a brief, but ferocious, hour-long set of material from their two most-recent albums.
Lucinda Williams – West Review (02.20.2007)
Alt-country heroine releases another album about heartache and loss. What it lacks in faster-tempo numbers it makes up for in anguish and sincerity.

Lily Allen - Alright, Still Review (02.06.2007)
MySpace sensation mouths off on relationships, boys, and grandmothers. Result: one fine party record.
The Shins - Wincing the Night Away Review (01.26.2007)
Band that will “change your life” returns after four years with new LP. Natalie Portman is stoked.
The Raconteurs – 12.30.06 – Riviera Theatre – Chicago, IL (01.10.2007)
Nashville-via-Detroit supergroup played the first of two nights at Chicago's Riviera to a packed house and a few new covers to boot.
Kasabian - Empire Review (01.06.2007)
One of NME’s many poster boys of the year release second album of post-grunge British electronica. The results are mixed, but there are a few decent highlights.
…And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead – So Divided Review (12.27.2006)
Texas outfit returns after last year’s critically panned Worlds Apart with an even lesser rocking album than its predecessor. Consequently, the instrumental arrangements are more abundant and the production has improved dramatically.
Deftones – 12.08.06 – Riviera Theatre – Chicago, IL (12.12.2006)
The Deftones made their third stop in the Windy City this year (following the Taste of Chaos Tour and co-headlining the Family Values Tour) and annihilate hardcore fans with a twenty song, almost two hour set.

Guns N' Roses / Helmet / Sebastian Bach / Suicide Girls Live Review - 12.01.06 - Hilton Coliseum - Ames, IA (12.07.2006)
Axl & company return with a second arena tour preceding the long-awaited Chinese Democracy. The accompanying stage show is a visual feast and the eight-piece all-star line-up sounds tighter than ever. Unfortunately, the overblown seven-hour concert turned away many fans before the main act even appeared on stage.
Depeche Mode – The Best of Volume 1 (CD/DVD) Review (11.29.2006)
Does the world really need another Depeche Mode best-of collection? Well, in case you don’t already own The Singles 86-98, The Singles 81-85 or Catching Up With Depeche Mode, this may be worth your while.
Oasis - Stop the Clocks Review (11.21.2006)
Manchester band finally releases best-of compilation that will break contract with Sony. There are no new songs, but the essentials are here.
The Decemberists - Chicago, IL - 11.11.06 (11.17.2006)
On November 11th, the Portland, Oregon band breezed through most of their latest LP along with a fair share of older tunes for a devoted, sold-out audience.
