Picture: none
Name:Brian McLain
Email:brianmclain77@msn.com
Current Roles:Political cynic and investigator of bovine fecal matter
Past Roles:Crazy guy let out of the attic occasionally for special poltical columns, Republican, and Ninja.
Other credits:
Quote:Vincere vel mori!
History:I grew up in a Republican household..with a moderately Republican father, and a conservatively Republican mother..with very conservative Republican grandparents to visit every so often. God knows why I'm not more screwed up then I am now...though I will admit I used to worship Rush Limbaugh as a kid. Now, more mature, more brains, and more common sense in the the aspects of government and society, I can proudly claim that I am a recovering Republican. When asked for a political preference, I quote Richard Prior's great classic "Brewster's Millions": None of the above. The hell with all of them, I'm my own man, my own thoughts, and I'll vote for whoever I damn well want. I guess I got a little off topic, but you'll survive.

A Sideorder of Scotsman: Handicapping the Iowa Caucus 01.03.08 (01.03.2008)
Step right up and place your bets on a number of fine steeds and one, maybe two nags. The Angry Scotsman takes a look at his home state's caucus and finds the best horses to put your money on.
A Side Order of Scotsman: The SAVE Act 12.21.07 (12.21.2007)
The Angry Scotsman returns with a side order of docket diving and his analysis of the anti-illegal, undocumented, worker, alien legislation that is juicy enough to be pushed by big time conservative groups, but this legislation coming out of a congress that has attempted to pass two amnesty bills smells a little fishy.
Fast Track to Tyranny 12.19.07: In Addendum Part 2 (12.19.2007)
"Give me control of a nation's money supply, and I care not who makes its laws."
Fast Track to Tyranny 11.21.07: In Addendum Part 1 (11.21.2007)
The Angry Scotsman is back with even more articles to add to the Fast Track to Tyranny series. This week is the first part of a mini-series look at legislation that grossly undermined the Constitution of the United States and has proven to be some of the most dangerous that had ever been signed into law. The new twist, though, is the government action did not take place over the past seven years under the Bush regime, but almost a century ago in 1913.
A Side Order of Scotsman: Confession (11.02.2007)
This is sort of a take off from Scotsman's old “Wild Card” articles that pop up on 411mania without any rhyme, reason, or scheduled appearance just to throw a wrench into the works. Quite often these will be posted because he has a burning desire to clear the air on something, get something off his chest, or just plain rant on issues that need immediate attention. In this first issue, the Scotsman makes a deep, dark confession to express to you all...which will make all of you want to read this article even more.
Flashback: The Fourteen Points of Fascism (10.31.2007)
The Angry Scotsman, Brian McLain, loves to take requests, and this is one of them. For those of you who have sought the heralded Fourteen Points of Fascism articles and have not been able to find them this is your lucky day. Plus a look at the first defendant to be placed on mock trial next Wednesday in the new series "Enemies of the Republic"...and boy is he a doozy.
Fast Track to Tyranny 10.25.07: Parallels (10.25.2007)
This week, the Angry Scotsman wraps the Fast Track to Tyranny series up with a nice little bow using parallel events and occurances in two superpower countries to put everything into context. As George Santayana quiped "Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it."

Fast Track to Tyranny 10.19.07: Preparing the People (10.18.2007)
The lastest article in the Fast Track to Tyranny features a bit of review and a change of pace from Act and Executive Order dissecting to take a closer look as to why the question "Why not torture bad guys?" is a stupid question.
Fast Track to Tyranny: The REAL ID Act of 2005 10.03.07‏ (10.04.2007)
Papers, please. The REAL ID Act of 2005 is set to go into effect May of 2008 and is set for enforcement for the end of 2009. Today, Brian McLain will get into the meat and potatoes of this questionable legislation that is supposedly going to protect us from further terrorist attacks, but in reality removes sovereignty from the States and its Citizens and creates headaches for the population at the very least, and create a true nightmare at the very worst.
The Fast Track to Tyranny: Tyranny Trifecta Spectacular (09.26.2007)
This week Brian McLain continues his series by examining The John Warner Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2007, The Military Commissions Act of 2006, and the National Security Presidential Directive 51.
The Fast Track to Tyranny 09.20.07: Patriot Act II, Son of Patriot (09.20.2007)
This week Brian McLain continues his series The Fast Track to Tyranny by examining the 2005 reauthorization of the Patriot Act a.k.a Patriot Act II.
The Fast Track to Tyranny: The USA Patriot Act of 2001 (09.12.2007)
This week Brian McLain begins his latest series titled The Fast Track to Tyranny. In this latest series, Brian looks at a series of legislation, executive orders, and presidential directives which are stripping away the civil rights of American citizens. He kicks off the series this week by examining the USA Patriot Act of 2001.
The Angry Scotsman: The Fascist States of America Part 1 of 2 (08.09.2006)
The Angry Scotsman is back from a lengthy sabbatical to do two things, chew bubblegum and kick ass...and he's all out of bubble gum.
The Angry Scotsman: Happiness in Slavery (06.26.2006)
Scotsman returns, better late than never, with a clarification as to the similarities between black slavery in antibellum U.S. and the Mexican "slavery" of today. Scotsman is annoyed by Conservative weenies, plus yet another peice of the "Voltron" of bad presidents is revealed, Scotsman spreading the love, and of course the Super Search Words of the Week!
The Angry Scotsman: God Save the Republic from the Voltron of Bad Presidents (06.08.2006)
The Scotsman gets some commentary in, takes on the idiocy of Juneteeth, and debuts the mini-column "The Voltron of Bad Presidents". Simply using the word "Voltron" in the teaser should increase readership exponentially. Plus, with the ire of the Scotsman up above the boiling point, he begins a new column known as the Scotsman's Throwdown.
The Angry Scotsman: Papers Please (05.26.2006)
The National ID card may seem like the perfect solution to America's illegal immigrant woes...if you are a complete idiot. Find out why the National ID is a slippery slope that really shouldn't be taken, the BOLD Super Search Words of the Week, and Scotsman succumbs to the reality of high gas prices in lieu of other, more important issues.
The Wild Card: (05.12.2006)
More than half of Americans surveyed on the streets are happy that phone records are being kept by the NSA and most don’t see a problem with the whole wiretapping deal all together. After all, there are more important things to worry about; like that poor guy who surprisingly got kicked off American Idol and the scandal that is Ashley Simpson’s nose.
The Angry Scotsman: First Amendment 101 (05.04.2006)
Loud mouth, alleged preachers who direct hateful protests at soldiers' funerals are bad, but legislation to shut them up are much worse.
The Angry Scotsman 04.19.06: Rants and Immigration (04.19.2006)
Your favorite Angry Scotsman, Brian McLain, rants about Republicans who whine about the media for all the wrong reasons, which somehow leads to sticks and why media really is a horrible detriment to the Populous. Also, the Scotsman takes an SHOCKING AND ASTOUNDING right turn *GASP!* on the immigration fiasco, a little comment on '24', and your Super Search words of the week.
The Angry Scotsman: E-mail and Sheep (04.06.2006)
Sheep follow a leader, but goats can run a Republic.
