Flobots- Fight With Tools drunk mini rambling. - 01.19.2009

Fucking incredible album. I guess this would fall under alt rap, something along the lines of the Roots, but it's pretty different. The main focus, musically, is a viola, which is pretty fuckin' cool. "Stand Up" is a seriously sweet song, and "Handlebars" is one of those fun lyrical songs, lyrically akin to Dropkick Murphys "Kiss Me, I'm Shitface", but without the alcohol involved. Definitely worth buying if you're into the music. The main vocalist, John 5, sounds kinda like Eminem, which is a little scary.
Good to be back - 09.26.2008

Damn. It's been almost two years since I posted anything here. I took a long break to focus on school and getting my life in order, but now, I'm ready to kick some ass. It's really good to be back. I sincerely missed doing this.

The Autumn Offering - Requiem Review (07.02.2009)
The Autumn Offering didn't fare so well in the critical field with their last album, Fear Will Cast No Shadow. Will their new album help propel them back into the metalcore spotlight, or will this truly be their requiem?
The Gothenburg Project 06.26.09: A History of Music, Part 2 (06.26.2009)
The Gothenburg Project ends on a personal note, as, in my last column, I finish looking at the bands that shaped my life as a music lover and a musician. Come in and check it out!
**ADD PICS, PROPER FORMATTING** The Gothenburg Project 6.18.09: A History of Music, Part 2 (06.18.2009)
After a minor setback, I'm back this week with the first half of the three most important bands in my life, the ones that made me who I am today. Check out what Metallica means to me, as well as the first half of Slipknot's career.
Dredg - The Pariah, The Parrot, The Delusion Review (06.14.2009)
Dredg returns with their fourth studio album, which features an unusual title, and some very impressive musicianship. But are instruments alone enough to save this album from mediocrity, or does the band have what it takes to put out yet another critically acclaimed record?
**NEEDS MORE DETAILS; FIX GRAMMAR ERRORS** dredg- The Pariah, the Parrot, the Delusion Review (06.10.2009)
Alternative rock band dredg returns with their new, uniquely titled album. Check out the thoughts of a first time listener of the band inside.
The Gothenburg Project 6.05.09: A History Of Music, Part 1 (06.05.2009)
I know it's already been done this week, but I'm starting an introspective look at the music that made me who I am today. Rather than just focus on one artist, I figured starting with a little history would help to get my point across a little bit better. So join me this week as I give a (very) abbreviated history of the music I grew up on, as I build to the three biggest musical influences in my life.
CKY- Carver City Review (06.04.2009)
CKY returns after a four year absence with another concept album. Does the band's new affiliation with Roadrunner Records have an impact on their label debut, or is this the CKY we all know and, hopefully, love?
The Gothenburg Project 5.29.09: A Look At Things to Come (05.29.2009)
After a bit of a hiatus from the column, the Gothenburg Project is back. This week, we're taking a look at some of the big metal releases coming up this summer.
Fightstar - Be Human Review (04.21.2009)
Up and coming British alt-rock/metal band Fightstar return with their fifth album in as many years, Be Human. With the addition of an orchestra, the band seems to have broadened their horizons farther than anyone thought possible. But how does the album stack up overall?
Mastodon - Crack The Skye Review (04.11.2009)
The Atlanta based heavy/prog metal quartet return with a new concept album and some new sounds. How does it stack up to their previous efforts?
The Gothenburg Project 03.27.09: The Final Countdown (03.27.2009)
This week, in the last edition of the Gothenburg Project for a while, I'm taking a look at five melodic death metal albums that everyone should own, as well as accompanying music videos, and a special guest appearance from Buckethead, and, vicariously, through him, the RZA, the GZA, and the rest of the Wu Tang Clan.
The Gothenburg Project 03.12.09: Soilwork (Part 5) (03.12.2009)
Soilwork's time has come in this column, as this week, we're taking a look at the band's last album, Sworn to a Great Divide, an album that could very well be considered their best work to date. There's also an absolutely insane video of the band's drummer that should be seen by all.
The Gothenburg Project 03.05.09: Soilwork (Part 4) (03.05.2009)
This week, I'll take a look at one of Soilwork's most popular albums, and also maybe their most most technical, Stabbing The Drama. I'll also show two pretty sick songs off of the album, so check it out!
Lamb of God - Wrath Review (02.24.2009)
The Virginia metal quintet brings us their first album in over two years, promising that they have topped themselves with their new release, Wrath. But does the album live up to the band's claims? 411’s Matt Shoemaker checks in with the full review!
The Gothenburg Project 02.19.09: Soilwork Part 3 (02.19.2009)
In a shortened column, this week I'm taking a look at a focal point in Soilwork's career, their Figure Number Five album, and taking a look at two incredible songs from the album.
The Gothenburg Project 02.13.09: Soilwork Part 2 (02.13.2009)
This week, The Gothenburg Project gets into the real meat of Soilwork's album catalog, as I look at A Predator's Portrait and Natural Born Chaos.
The Gothenburg Project 02.05.09: Aesthetics Of Hate (02.05.2009)
This week, we take a special break to look at reactions to one of the biggest losses to the metal work, the death of Dimebag Darrell Abbott.
The Gothenburg Project 01.30.09: Soilwork (Part 1) (01.30.2009)
Due to a change of plans, for the next few weeks, the Project's going to be looking at one of the most talented melodic death metal bands around today, Soilwork. Join me as we break down the band's first two albums.
The Gothenburg Poject 01.23.09: Ensiferum (Part 2) (01.23.2009)
This week, we take a look at the last album by Finnish viking/folk metal band Ensiferum, as well as some pretty killer videos for some pretty killer songs.
