The Bell To Bell News Report 10.04.09
Posted by Randy Harrison on 10.04.2009

Welcome back to an all-new edition of the Bell to Bell News Report. I'm your erstwhile host Randy Harrison and I'll start off this week by apologizing for last week's no-show. My laptop had what the experts in the computer business call an "oh shitfuck" and as we speak it's being held together by spit and grit....and spit....and stick-to-it-iveness. It's a good thing when the tech guy laughs at you when you ask him if it can be fixed..that means it should be a snap...right? Right??

Anyhow, in between watching my laptop slowly wither away and ease itself into the great electronic beyond, I've been keeping busy with my usual MMA work over at Nokaut along with a couple of fantasy hockey teams as it's FINALLY time for the NHL season to get underway. As I'm writing this, I'm in the middle of watching a QUADRUPLE-header on a night where all thirty teams are going to be in action. I love nights like this. Both of my fantasy leagues are 411-related, and while my ESPN team could use a little love because I didn't get control until after someone else had drafted, my Yahoo team is really strong and I'm expecting big things. When you have Pavel Datsyuk, Mike Richards, the Sedin Twins, Niklas Backstrom (the goalie not the forward) and a defense anchored by Mike Green and Shea Weber, you're in good shape. My second-line guys aren't too bad either with Ryan Miller, Mike Cammalleri and Brian Gionta along with Marian Hossa waiting in the wings when he gets off of injured reserve. Reynholm Industries is going to lay waste to the Hockey Hullabaloo!

My ESPN team may not have many big names, but there's a lot of consistency and a few strong players like Bobby Ryan from Anaheim and Marc Savard from Boston, some decent role players like Mike Knuble, Johan Franzen, and Ryan Malone, and strong depth in net with Tim Thomas, Craig Anderson, Cristobal Huet and Nikolai Khabibulin manning the goals for my team. I might not be the guy that runs away with the league, but I'm pretty sure that I won't be a push-over or easy win against any other team. Between my NHL Network and ordering NHL GameCenter for my now-dying laptop, I should be knee-deep in hockey for the entire season and I won't mind one little bit. Things may be a little shaky in goal for the boys from Hockeytown with Osgood seeming a little weak in the season-opener in Stockholm, but he did the same thing last year before turning it on for an unreal playoff run, so I'm going to hold off and reserve judgment for now.

Anyhow, let's drop the puck talk (for now) and get into the meat of why you're here. MEN IN SPANDEX!!

You know what's coming next....

Monday Night Raw Results:

Unified Tag Team Championship: Mark Henry and MVP vs. Chris Jericho and The Big Show (C) - Winners: Chris Jericho and The Big Show (pinfall, Jericho's Codebreaker on MVP)
Mickie James vs. Rosa Mendes - Winner: Mickie James (pinfall, spin kick)
Jack Swagger vs. Evan Bourne - Winner: Jack Swagger (pinfall, powerbomb)
Santino Marella and Hornswoggle vs. Chavo Guerrero and Chris Masters - Winners: Chavo Guerrero and Chris Masters (submission, Masters' Masterlock on Marella)
3-on-1 Gauntlet Match: John Cena vs. Chris Jericho - Winner: John Cena (disqualification, Jericho refusing to break Walls of Jericho)
3-on-1 Gauntlet Match: John Cena vs. The Big Show - Winner: John Cena (disqualification, Jericho-ference)
3-on-1 Gauntlet Match: John Cena vs. Randy Orton - Winner: None (No Contest, brawl that never turned into a match)

A lot was made out of the choice of guest host for Raw, Rev. Al Sharpton, but to me this show was about building towards the upcoming Hell in the Cell pay-per-view more than the guest host. Sharpton seemed like he was just there for the exposure and didn't really add a lot to the show. While guys like Jeremy Piven, Bob Barker and such have brought a little extra with their enthusiasm (or over-enthusiasm as it were with his SummerFest gaffe and nearly getting Dr. Ken killed in a main event melee) or with The Price is Raw, Sharpton was little more than a prop for people to use during the show. Part of this may be my personal distaste of Sharpton based on him being a bit of a media whore, but I really found him to be one of the blander guest hosts since this whole deal began.

The in-ring action focused on two of the big matches from Raw heading into the pay-per-view and that got started in a big way with the Unified Tag Title match that opened the wrestling portion of the show. All four guys were on and minus the usual slow portion that comes from Show and Henry being in the ring together, this one moved at a really good clip. It was nearly twenty minutes of wrestling early in the show, on the show that sometimes spends the first half-hour or more on talking and in-ring skits, so it was a nice change of pace. It worries me a little that they got so much time on Raw, which could lead to their match getting short shift at the PPV with only seven or eight minutes, but I was happy with getting to see them put on a strong match to start Raw.

Sadly, that was about the only good match on the show as the Divas labored through their match, Swagger and Bourne got no time, the tag match was predictable during the match and almost nonsensical after it with Chavo seemingly making a face turn to save Hornswoggle after months of feuding with him. The middle of the show really suffered and was only saved by the segment featuring Legacy and DX building to their Cell match in a talky-promo deal. Legacy has shown as much improvement in their promos as they have in the ring and in a situation where they could have been verbally beaten down by two guys with a hell of a lot more promo experience, they held their own. Rhodes has especially been a revelation, proving that he has just as much breakout potential as DiBiase has in the team and his line about Triple H getting his cushy office ready while talking to his family about how good he used to be was great stuff.

The main event was pretty much what we usually expect from John Cena as he single-handedly took on the three biggest heels on Raw and managed to emerge relatively unscathed from a beating laid on him by Jericho and Big Show by springing to life to get the best of Randy Orton by giving him the Attitude Adjustment on top of the Cell that had lowered from the roof of the arena. We should all be used to it by now because they've been booking Cena like the second coming of Hulk Hogan for as long as I can remember, but it is a little silly to have him take the beating and recover, sending Orton scurrying away and to the top before the "grand finale". The whole final segment was a disaster to me and not only made Orton seem like an idiot leading into his challenge for the belt, but made Jericho and Show seem weaker for not being able to beat Cena down enough in fifteen minutes or so to keep him from being able to take out Orton. A fizzly way for Raw to head into Hell in the Cell to be sure.

ECW on SyFy Results:

Paul Burchill vs, Shelton Benjamin - Winner: Shelton Benjamin (pinfall, Paydirt)
William Regal, Vladimir Kozlov, Ezekiel Jackson and Zack Ryder vs. Tommy Dreamer, Goldust, Yoshi Tatsu and Christian - Winners: Tommy Dreamer, Goldust, Yoshi Tatsu and Christian (pinfall, Tatsu's roundhouse kick on Regal)

ECW had a rare two-match show on Tuesday, but that really helped as both of the matches were strong and the crap like the Abraham Washington opening segment was kept short as a result. Speaking of the Washington show, it actually wasn't terrible as Washington was kept to a minimum and guests John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler carried the segment to build to their match for Morrison's Intercontinental Championship at Hell in the Cell. Yeah, there was nothing earth-shattering involved here, but the match has seemingly been forgotten about as of late, so it was nice to see them get a few moments of hype heading into the bout, which might hopefully have Ziggler finally begin an IC Title reign that he's been groomed for for the past few months.

The first match of the show saw Paul Burchill and Shelton Benjamin going ten-plus minutes in a match that was pretty good on the whole. It wasn't a great match as neither guy has done much of late to mean much and there was a little bit taken away from it with Sheamus advancing his issue with Benjamin by beating him down before the match even began. There wasn't a ton of psychology involved outside of Shelton selling the pre-match beating by Sheamus, but they are two of the better technicians on the WWE's current roster, meaning that it was a solid match in the ring. Benjamin managed to beat the odds and beat Burchill by hitting the Paydirt out of nowhere, pretty much the only way that he could be able to pick up the win and keep momentum heading into his feud with Sheamus. The Sheamus/Benjamin feud should actually be pretty good and has the chance to raise the stock of both men if it's done right.

The main event saw the eight biggest stars in ECW in one ring as a team headed by William Regal and Zack Ryder took on a team captained by current ECW Champion Christian and ECW mainstay Tommy Dreamer. This one was a lot of fun as all eight guys had their moments and there was nothing that really slowed the match down. It was a little hard to follow at points with so many bodies in the ring, and there seemed to be a point in the middle where the focus of the match got a little lost, but all in all it was the eight guys at the top of the card acting like the eight guys at the top of the card and putting on a show. Having Christian taking the big heel beatdown that led to the hot finish was a smart move as well as it gave all of the heels a chance to get their shots in on the champ and could lead to future branching off points for feuds down the road with any of the heels in question.

WWE Superstars Results:

Shad Gaspard vs. Tyson Kidd - Winner: Shad Gaspard (pinfall, Thugnificent)
Sheamus vs. Tyler Reks - Winner: Sheamus (pinfall, pump kick)
The Miz vs. Kofi Kingston - Winner: Kofi Kingston (pinfall, Trouble In Paradise)

It's been an odd few weeks for Superstars as they've had some good weeks and some bad weeks and some just plain boring weeks as of late. This week, we actually lucked out with two pretty good matches and no filler outside of a squash featuring Sheamus hammering Tyler Reks into near-death. Sheamus looked good in the match, but there's only so much that can be done with squashes and run-ins. Every time the WWE has introduced a new wrestler that's over 250 pounds, they seem to do it the same way with the big guy destroying jobbers for what seems like an eternity before finally giving them a program with someone when people begin to stop caring about the jobber-killings. Sheamus seems to be on the same path and much like with Kozlov and Jackson, I'm hoping that they get past this phase of his development soon because I'm interested to see what he can really do in a full-length match.

The two decent matches began with the first match of the show featuring Shad of Cryme Tyme taking on Tyson Kidd of the Hart Dynasty, continuing the feud between those two teams that has been going on as of late. The match was a classic big man vs. little man match with Kidd hitting big moves and trying to stick and move, while Shad played the power game to try to slow down Kidd's swift offense. Kidd showed a great grasp of psychology by working the leg to cut the big man down to size and it was nice to see that kind of psychology from someone so young in the business, but I was kind of peeved when Shad did a poor job of selling the leg work throughout the match. The finish was cool as Shad caught Kidd off of the springboard to hit the Thugnificent, but it's seeming like the springboard into someone's finisher finish has been happening more and more as of late. It might not have been quite as original as it once was, but it was still pretty cool.

The main event of the show focused on the US Title picture on Raw as The Miz took on Kofi Kingston in a match that saw both men shine. Miz got to spend the majority of the bout on the offensive and did well with it, beating Kingston down and working over his knee. Wrapping the leg around the post and following it up with a nice half-crab showed Miz's willingness to do anything to win, while setting the stage for some good psychology on Sunday in the match with Miz and Swagger. There was also a nice bit of work from Jack Swagger as he got involved after the match, laying a nice beatdown on Kingston to soften him up for the match at the PPV. I'm pretty sure that this is setting the stage for Kingston to find a miraculous way to win the three-way, much in the same way that he found a way to beat Miz on Thursday night. The match was good and did well to build both guys heading into the PPV show, but I honestly think that this was a lot more about laying the groundwork for what will hopefully be a great match at Hell in the Cell.

TNA Impact Results:

Ladder Match For X-Division Title Shot: Amazing Red vs Sheik Abdul Bashir vs Kiyoshi vs Jay Lethal vs Consequences Creed - Winner: Amazing Red (contract retrieval)
Dr. Stevie vs. Kevin Nash - Winner: Kevin Nash (pinfall, Jackknife powerbomb)
Traci vs. Christy Hemme - Winner: Christy Hemme (pinfall, sunset flip)
TNA Knockouts Championship: Awesome Kong vs. ODB (C) - Winner: ODB (pinfall, roll-up)
Kurt Angle vs. Hernandez - Winner: None (double countout)
Eric Young vs. Matt Morgan - Winner: Matt Morgan (disqualification, Angle-ference)
British Invasion and Rhino vs. Team 3D and Bobby Lashley - Winners: Team 3D and Bobby Lashley (submission, Lashley's Dragon sleeper on Williams)

I've been a little bit out of the loop in regards to TNA as of late, and I was only able to catch bits and pieces of this show with it falling on NHL opening night and my throwing a party for a bunch of friends that either love hockey or loved hockey by the time they left. There are a few things I want to make sure I touch on though as they were highlights for me.

Thank GOD they gave Lashley a submission-style finisher to hopefully replace that silly punch that seemed pretty lame and didn't do a lot for me when he used it. If he can get over that Dragon sleeper as a solid finish, it could really help get him over when added to his MMA backstory and power-based offense. He's looking a little rusty to me after spending so long away from the ring, but he's done pretty well in his in-ring appearances thus far. If the rumors of Lashley signing with Strikeforce come to fruition, this could be a great move for TNA as they will have gotten in on Lashley's ground floor before he possibly explodes to Lesnar levels of popularity in MMA. A lot of people, myself included, were skeptical of TNA when they made the deal for Lashley, but it looks like this could be one gamble that pays off for TNA if the chips fall for them.

I'm not normally one to talk about the ladies unless they stink up a match or do something really awesome. I'm not going to defend it as I'll readily admit that I'm just not as entertained by the women and tend to zone out when they're on-camera, especially when it comes to promos. However, the promo work from Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne that had them apologize for their actions and blame them all on Angelina Love before calling out Taylor Wilde and Sarita to apologize for their actions. When the two gullib..I mean plucky..babyfaces came down to the ring, Rayne and Sky tried to pull a double-cross. Wilde and Sarita fought them off until Lacey Von Erich came down and started laying bitches out with the CLAWHOLD!! While it may have been a tad predictable in that all heels that apologize for anything are likely doing so to launch an attack, it was still an entertaining segment and something that went over pretty well in my eyes. Good stuff from all three ladies and a great way to introduce Lacey to the group.

The last thing I wanted to talk about on Impact was the World Elite/Main Event Mafia/almost every heel in the company brawl that ended up taking a TON of time to break up with much annoying bell-ringing. The brawl was fun, but they've been doing it a little too much lately to try to get over programs. Once was really cool, twice is still cool but starting to wear a little, thrice is getting a little thin. I get that they're struggling for control of the company and what-not, but for whatever reason this one just didn't click with me like the past brawls have. The only thing I liked about it was the Kurt Angle chairshot that started it all with him planted in the audience. They haven't had a good audience plant moment in a while, so that part was fun. That pretty much covers everything that I saw from this week's Impact, which seemed like it was a decent show. Hopefully next week's show is a good one building off of the good stuff from this episode.

Friday Night Smackdown Results:

Batista vs. Kane - Winner: Batista (pinfall, Batista Bomb)
John Morrison and Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler and The Miz - Winners: Dolph Ziggler and The Miz (pinfall, Ziggler's Zig Zag on Morrison)
WWE Women's Championship: Melina vs. Michelle McCool (C) - Winner: Michelle McCool (pinfall, Faithbreaker)
John Cena, Triple H, Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker vs. Randy Orton, Ted Dibiase, Cody Rhodes and CM Punk - Winners: John Cena, Triple H, Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker (pinfall, Undertaker's Tombstone piledriver on Orton)

This week's Smackdown saw the blue brand celebrate a decade on the air in a show that was a lot less about building to the pay-per-view on Sunday and a lot more to do with celebrating Smackdown's greatest moments. Sure, there were some things that helped build towards Hell in the Cell, but this felt like a one-off show or a special episode rather than a regular weekly episode, which Smackdown has been doing better than any wrestling show on TV as of late. While there were some unfunnily funny bits like the backstage party (complete with VINTAGE COLE and his VINTAGE "OH MY" among other things), there were also some really cool moments including the highlight montage that opened the show, the great Eddie Guerrero tribute segment and the promo segment featuring The Rock.

While I'm not going to slobber all over The Rock for coming in a doing a pre-taped piece for the show that he helped name or say that his promo was the greatest interview in the history of the wrestling business, I have to say that it was fun to hear him on WWE TV again. He showed the reason why he was one of, if not the last, great ad-lib promo guys the company ever produced and gave the fans some hope of seeing him on Raw as a guest host someday. I think that the way that people are fawning all over Rocky's work is more of a cry against how stale and canned the interviews have become in the WWE in the past few years rather than any sort of revelation on the microphone from Mr. Johnson. I know some people are speculating that we might see a Rock/Cena bout at WrestleMania 26, but I can't see that happening ever, let alone in six months or so.

The wrestling was much like you'd expect from an anniversary-style show, with lots of big names and big matches, but not a lot done to progress the stories that are going on currently in terms of promo work or one-on-one encounters between feuding wrestlers. The tag match did a decent job of pushing the secondary title storylines that are on Raw and Smackdown at the moment and the match was good, but it almost felt like watching an exhibition game rather than a game that means something in the standings. Like I had said during the ECW show, I'm hoping that Ziggler is going to get a run with the IC belt soon as he's certainly done enough to deserve it, but with the way that he went over on Morrison in this match, I'm getting the feeling like he's going to come up short somehow and his title win is going to wait for another month or two.

If the tag team match was an exhibition game, the eight-man tag main event was an All Star Game featuring the eight top names on any brand in the WWE today. Much like the tag match, they tried to move the storylines featuring all of the participants as much as they could, but this was more of a stand-alone showcase to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Smackdown rather than an eight-man tag that served as a tension-filled go-home match for the pay-per-view. I have to say that Taker looked a little better physically in this match based on his bad hips and the short match at Breaking Point, which means there's hope for his Cell match with Punk yet. The finish with the four faces hitting their finishers before the pin and Taker staring down CM Punk after the pin was good stuff and again, gives me some hope that Taker will be able to go and give Punk a nice boost in the match.

A slow news week and an even slower laptop has led to a bunch of quick, rapid-fire stories rather than the usual format as I'm praying that this thing even holds out for long enough to let me talk about everything that I want to get to.

-- Matt Hardy pulled one over on the IWC this week as he made a cryptic Twitter post that simply said the following;

"I am exhausted from being punished because of someone else's sins. Good night one, good night all! Until then.."

He followed that up by talking about how the media isn't on the pulse of anything and then followed that one further by posting on his MySpace blog the story behind the post which consisted of him picking up the slack for some of his co-workers who he felt had stiffed the servers at the company's post-Smackdown party meal. He made a crack about it being a sin to have to pay for others cheapness and mistakes, joked about turning it into a cryptic Twitter post and how the IWC would snap it up and make a story out of it. I don't know how big a story was made, but it was reported by most of the sites around and Matt blasted them for not knowing how to distinguish fact from fiction and that most are just looking for comments to get hits for their sites.

That's all well and good, but it begs the question of which is sadder, the person that reports it and makes a mistake when it's proven to be a hoax, or the guy that spends his time orchestrating the hoax to try to get one over on the people that he apparently thinks so little of? You'd have to think that if Hardy put this kind of time into doing productive things in front of the camera, he might have a bit more to show for his career than an ECW Championship run and a bunch of runs with secondary and tag titles. Of course, when you're the Hardy that's not awaiting trial on a slew of federal drug charges, you can probably, technically, call yourself the most successful Hardy.

-- Speaking of "The Charismatic Mule", Hardy's long legal process got underway this past week as he is set to return to court on November 14th for a probable cause hearing that will determine if a crime was committed (duh) and if Jeff Hardy committed said crime (probable duh). If it is determined that there is probable cause, the case goes to the grand jury, who will view the evidence and decide whether Hardy should be indicted on the charges that he currently faces. From there, if the grand jury decides that he is indicted, there will be a case in superior court where he would face a normal trial for the charges he is indicted on. This is a LONG way from being over as there are multiple stages left in the case. While it's possible that it could end with any of these stages if they find that there isn't sufficient evidence for Hardy to end up in court, but with the severity of the charges and the seemngly air-tight nature of them, I wouldn't count on that. Guess that Peroxwhy?gen world tour is probably on hold for a while, huh?

-- There have been some rumblings as of late that Bret Hart may be mulling the possibility of returning to the WWE as an on-air character. While I think that the chances of this happening are pretty much nil, it has opened up some interesting discussions on what role he would play within the company. While some feel like it would be a gig managing the Hart kids and others are suggesting that he may even want to return to the ring, I think that the best deal for him would be as a guest host on Raw that eventually turns into him in an authority role like becoming a permanent GM of the show. The fans are going to flock to Hart if he was ever to make a return, and the Hart kids are working well as heels, meaning that they'd have to turn the Dynasty or have Bret return to make the same types of negative comments that indirectly led to a lot of his problems prior to leaving for WCW. As GM, he could get the chance to be on TV, play a role in making the weekly show more entertaining, help some of the newer guys backstage and other things of that nature. If he returns to the company and decides he wants to be in a non-TV role, he'd be a perfect road agent and I think he'd do a world of good behind the curtain. Again, it's highly unlikely, but the speculation can be fun sometimes too.

-- There's no real story here, this is just something that deserves to be here. Help in any way that you can, if you can.

-- More sad news on the "Ric Flair is broke" front as Highspots.com is planning on auctioning off the NWA World Heavyweight Championship belt that was in the possession of Flair until recently. This belt is the one that was worn by legends like Jack Brisco, Dusty Rhodes, Harley Race and more and came into the possession of Highspots when Flair laid it down as a deposit on a loan that Highspots gave to Flair. Flair feels that appearances he made for the company after the loan was issued were sufficient payment and that the belt should be his again, but Highspots begs to differ. Based on Flair's ROH run where he still hasn't paid back the money that they fronted him for his role as ROH Ambassador, I would side with Highspots here as it's pretty likely that Flair didn't pay back the money. It's incredibly sad to see Flair in the state that he is and I'm sure he's got a million great stories to tell, but I'm pretty sure he'd trade some of those stories from twenty years ago if it meant that he would actually have some money to survive these days.

If you win that 100 grand Grandma, you better split it with me....WHOOOOO!!!!

-- Lacey Von Erich has made her debut as the newest member of The Beautiful People in TNA this past week, as I discussed before, and she also made some news when she spoke to the Miami Herald and dropped such gems as...

" I've never met Angelina before in my life. After what some people have said, I don't know if I want to."

along with this doozy...

"I feel like it was made for me, and she [Angelina] wasn't a good fit for it in my opinion. I thought that everybody was going to be, `Oh no. Angelina is gone,' but not one person said that. Nobody really missed her that much. I feel like I can fill the shoes that I'm supposed to. TNA told me this role was made for me, and I feel the same way."

Yipes. Nothing quite like a burial on the way out I suppose. A lot of people jumped on Lacey for her comments and talked about how she had a diva attitude and that she needed to pay her dues and earn the right to talk about someone the way she talked about the departed Love. If those are her true feelings, I'd be inclined to agree with that, but Lacey has spoken again on the issue, posting the following on her Facebook page...

"I hope everyone enjoyed the show last night! Angelina Love was a great wrestler and I hope I do well filling her shoes! I wish her all the best in her career! Thank u all for ur support!"

While this could easily be a bit of damage control that she did after the negative reaction to her earlier comments, I'm leaning towards her bashing of Love being a bit of kayfabe work with the newspaper. She's third-generation and grown up around the business, so if anyone would know how to work a newspaper to help get her new character over, it would be her. Given that she was a lot more respectful in her Facebook post, which is meant more for friends and some fans rather than a newspaper which is going to be read by people unfamiliar with her, I'd put more weight in the second statement being her real opinion. I could be wrong of course, but I don't think she'd be that negative coming into a new working environment where no one knows her. That's a good way to get shunned pretty quick.

-- To finish things off, just for some shits and giggles and because it's been a while since I've decided to include some music or anything of my own personal tastes in the column outside of my sports talk in the intros, here's some videos from a concert that I've watched a million times (a million and one if you count when I watched it this week again) from a band that I would have killed to be able to see live in their prime. If anyone knows me, they know that I have always been heavily into the music of Queen, even though I was barely a toddler when they were in their best years in the early 80's. You can have The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, KISS, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Who (whom I all love) and anyone else you can think of. If I had to choose one band to listen to for the rest of my life, it would be Queen. Here's some choice cuts from one of the best concerts in the band's rich history of great live performances...

Two of their more underrated songs in medley form....Flash and The Hero

Another one of my favorites that some people may not be as familiar with...Now I'm Here

Love Of My Life....one of their best songs in my opinion and one of the most heartfelt...

Sheer Heart Attack...just awesome..

Probably my favorite rock song from Queen, Tie Your Mother Down...

The Final Bell

Well, that does it for me for this week. Randle's got you covered tomorrow from the sure-to-be disappointed southern Ontario area that was spurned by the NHL and a bankruptcy judge this past week. From the possible, potential, lots of crossing of fingers, new home of the Atlanta Thrashers (according to Al Strachan), to wherever you're reading this, in the meantime and in between time, I'll be back here next time for an all-new edition of the Bell to Bell.

P.S. Bonus points for anyone that knows what Reynholm Industries really is...

I don't understand the heat on Matt Hardy forposting that comment. He never said what the meaning was behind it due to 'his life' being lived.

If Hulk Hogan posted a message on his Twitter account saying "I'm home", you would bet every report the next hour on the internet would say he is returning to WWE and leaving his own tour, when in fact he just got home.

If Bret Hart returned as GM, he would be a huge face, and the Hart Dynasty could easily stay heel. The Dynasty has been saying "we're better than those that came before us." Ain't no reason in the world why Bret should be all pally with them. Set Bret Hart AGAINST the Hart Dynasty and keep Bret a face while making the Dynasty uber-heels.

If I want to read aboout hockey, fantasy hockey, technical whinges and 70s/80s British bands, guess what I do? I go to websites that deal with those subjects. What I want to read about on 411 westling is, erm, wrestling.
Keep on topic, or keep off this site!

You want to see Sheamus in some full-length matches!?! What was the Goldust Rivalry? There were a couple of 10+ min. matches between the two. Especially their match on Superstars which was rated as Match of the Night by a few who went to the live show. That says something when that was a ECW/Smackdown taping night.

And before you say that Dustin is a jobber, don't forget that you JUST said that Goldust was one of the top 8 guys on the card!

I still hold that the winner of the Sheamus/Benjamin rivalry will end up #1 contender.

The funny thing about Matt's "cryptic comments" is none of the sites I visited promoted it like, "Matt Hardy Disses Brother!" but rather "This is what Matt said. Read into it what you will." Matt didn't "get" anyone.

I'd love to see a picture of a cleaned up Jeff Hardy when he appears in court; I doubt they look fondly on a man accused of so many drug charges showing up with long, multicolored hair, painted fingernails, and, last but not least, lines shaved into his eyebrows.
