  • Notes

  • Wrestlers to compete at every Bound For Glory card to date: Alex Shelley, Samoa Joe, Robert Roode, Eric Young, Chris Sabin, James Storm, Abyss, A.J. Styles, Christopher Daniels
  • .

  • Eric Young is undefeated at Bound For Glory
  • The World Championship has always changed hands at Bound For Glory, with Sting winning it three times.
  • Abyss has been in a Monster’s Ball Match at every Bound For Glory but only won once, while losing three times.
  • The Knockouts Belt was won for the first time at Bound For Glory (2007).
  • This is the second year in a row the tag team titles have been defended in a four way match. It is also the second year to have the Knockout’s Title defended in a three way match.
  • This is the second time Sting has hinted at retiring following Bound For Glory (2006).
  • They are advertising Bobby Lashley as the first man to compete as an MMA fighter and professional wrestler, which is a lie because Dan Severn held the UFC Championship and NWA World Championship at the same time.
  • And now on to this year’s card…

    The Card

  • TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: “The Icon” Sting vs. champion “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles
  • Kurt Angle vs. “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan
  • “The Boss” Bobby Lashley vs. Samoa Joe
  • MONSTER’S BALL: HARDCORE EXTREME: Mick Foley vs. “The Monster” Abyss
  • ULTIMATE X MATCH FOR THE X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP: Suicide vs. D’Angelo Dinero vs. Daniels vs. Homicide vs. champion The Amazing Red
  • FULL METAL MAYHEM FOR THE TNA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: Team 3D vs. Beer Money vs. British Invasion vs. champions Scott Steiner & Booker T
  • TNA LEGENDS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Hernandez vs. Eric Young vs. champion Kevin Nash
  • TNA KNOCKOUTS CHAMPIONSHIP: Awesome Kong vs. Tara vs. champion ODB
  • TNA KNOCKOUTS TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: The Beautiful People vs. Taylor Wilde & Sarita

  • TNA KNOCKOUTS TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: The Beautiful People vs. Taylor Wilde & Sarita

No Surrender – Sarita and Taylor Wilde defeated The Beautiful People for the first ever Knockouts Tag Team Titles.
09.24.09 – Taylor and Sarita defend their titles against ODB and Tara thanks to Kong distracting Tara.
10.01.09 – The Beautiful People come out and say that Angelina Love is why they acted so bad. They call out Sarita and Taylor Wilde to apologize. It is a setup and then Lacey Von Erich makes her debut as their new leader.
10.08.09 – The Beautiful People are part of an 8-woman tag elimination match and win when Lacey interferes allowing Rayne to pin Sarita.
10.16.09 – The Beautiful People beat ODB, Kong and Tara when Sky pinned ODB.

My Prediction: It is time for The Beautiful People to win these belts. They are the dominant force in the Knockouts Division, team-wise. Lacey helps them cheat to win.

TNA KNOCKOUTS CHAMPIONSHIP: Awesome Kong vs. Tara vs. champion ODB

No Surrender – ODB won the Knockouts belt from Cody Deaner to end that nonsense.
09.24.09 – Kong cost Tara and ODB the tag team titles by distracting Tara.
10.01.09 – ODB pins Kong in a title match when Tara interferes. Then Kong kills them both.
10.08.09 – ODB pins Tara in a title match when Kong interferes.
10.16.09 – ODB, Tara and Kong teamed up to fight The Beautiful People (WHY???) and ODB was pinned when Kong walked out and Tara super-kicked the crap out of ODB.

My Prediction: I have been complaining for months now about Tara and Kong not being included on the PPV’s while Cody Deaner was. That is fixed here and I see a great match with – hopefully – Kong or Tara winning the title. I’m going with Tara and a possible heal turn for her.

TNA LEGENDS CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Hernandez vs. Eric Young vs. champion Kevin Nash

No Surrender – Eric Young refuses to fight and Hernandez kills him. Hernandez then cashes in his Feast or Fired briefcase but Eric Young comes out and costs him the title by piledriving him on the stage, taking him out of the match. Kevin Nash defended his Legends title against Abyss when he tazed him.
09.24.09 – Matt Morgan and Hernandez beat Eric Young and Kurt Angle when Angle throws Young into Morgan’s Carbon Footprint.
10.01.09 – Big Daddy Cool pins Big Stevie Cool in a squash. Taz points that out, which is awesome. Hernandez and Kurt Angle fought to a double countout and then both got beaten up by the World Elite. Then later in the show Young fought Morgan until The MEM and Angle attacked both men and the World Elite had to make the save.
10.08.09 – Young announces the war with the MEM is over and World Elite wins. Angle puts a $30,000 bounty on Eric. Kevin Nash and Hernandez fought for the Legend’s title but Eric makes the run-in and piledrives Hernandez. He says Nash owes him. Later Young approaches Nash and offers $60,000 to help him beat Hernandez at Bound For Glory. It will be a title match and if Nash helps take out Hernandez, Young promises he will let Nash win and keep the belt. Angle gets mad but Nash is all about the money.
10.16.09 – Hernandez beat all three members of The British Invasion in a Gauntlet Match but then was beaten with a kendo stick by Eric Young after the match ended.

My Prediction: Usually when someone stands over the body of someone else on the go-home show, the one who is beat down will win. Add to the fact that Hernandez is getting pushed to the moon and he should win. But, I am going back to the promo where Eric Young promises Nash that if he helps take out Hernandez, he will let Nash win. I see Nash keeping his part of the bargain and then Young taking a cheap win for the title. I love Eric Young as the leader of the World Elite and think a win here will keep the feud with Hernandez going a little while longer while taking the belt off Nash and starting the crumbling of the Main Event Mafia.

FULL METAL MAYHEM FOR THE TNA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: Team 3D vs. Beer Money vs. British Invasion vs. champions Scott Steiner & Booker T

No Surrender – Team 3D and Beer Money beat Steiner, Booker and The British Invasion in a Lethal Lockdown match.
09.24.09 – Team 3D continues their side feud with Rhino. Steiner and Booker T beat Abyss and Mick Foley when Mick turned on Abyss.
10.01.09 – Team 3D and Bobby Lashley beat The British Invasion and Rhino when Lashley makes Doug Williams tap. Beer Money was on commentary.
10.08.09 – The four teams will get one last match against each other. Both sets of belts will be hung above the ring and both are on the line. There can be two winners or the same team can win both. The four teams brawl. The World Elite stand tall.
10.16.09 – Beer Money and Team 3D were part of the group that came out at the beginning to stand up to the MEM. The British Invasion lost a Gauntlet Match to Hernandez but they helped Eric Young beat him down post match. Later, all four teams got into a fight in the catering room.

My Prediction: The British Invasion have been beaten every step of the way over the last month. Team 3D carried on two different feuds over the month. Beer Money was practically invisible and it is pretty clear the team of Steiner and Booker are about to come to an end thanks to Booker’s attitude. Unless there is a swerve, I think Team 3D wins the IWGP titles back and Beer Money walks out as TNA Tag Team Champions and the Main Event Mafia loses their last titles.

ULTIMATE X MATCH FOR THE X DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP: Suicide vs. D’Angelo Dinero vs. Daniels vs. Homicide vs. champion The Amazing Red

No Surrender – Chris Daniels lost in an X-Division Championship match to Samoa Joe. D’Angelo Dinero beat Suicide by pinfall.
09.24.09 – Suicide pinned Dinero. In a 3-way title match, Samoa Joe makes Homicide submit to retain his title in a match that Daniels was also involved in.
10.01.09 – Amazing Red wins a ladder match to become the number one contender to the X-Title. Also in the match were Bashir, Kiyoshi, Lethal and Creed.
10.08.09 – Amazing Red defeats Samoa Joe for the X-Division belt when Bobby Lashley interferes. Homicide and Dinero beat Daniels and Suicide when Dinero pins Daniels.
10.16.09 – Homicide is suspended for this show for attacking the Spanish announcer last week. Red gets his first title defense against Suicide but it is a no contest when Dinero interferes. Red saves Suicide from Dinero. By the way, Don West is now Red’s manager and the Ultimate X match is for Red’s title. Daniels beats Dinero by pinfall but is beaten down by Suicide, who turns out to be Homicide. Homicide says he knows who Suicide is now and then Security throws him out.

My Prediction: I figured Red was a transitional champion but now he has Don West as his spokesman, so I don’t know. West making this a title match seems fishy, though. Could Dinero have bought him off? I don’t see Suicide taking the belt back and there might be a feud upcoming with Homicide. That leaves Red, Daniels and Dinero. I want Chris Daniels to be the champion but with West on the scene, I think Dinero wins the belt for his first TNA title.

MONSTER’S BALL: HARDCORE EXTREME: Mick Foley vs. “The Monster” Abyss

No Surrender – Abyss lost to Kavin Nash in a Legends Title match when he was tazed.
09.24.09 – The picture of Mick Foley and JB got broke. Abyss did it. Foley turned on Abyss in a World Tag Team Championship match and left Abyss a bloody mess.
10.01.09 – Abyss calls out Foley. Foley comes out and calls Abyss a cheap rip off of himself. They brawl.
10.08.09 – Abyss starts out the show for the second week in row. He says that the only “cheap knockoff” is Mick Foley because he is not the man he used to be. Foley backs down. Stevie and Daffney come in and then Foley attacks and they beat Abyss until Matt Morgan makes the save. In the main event, Morgan and Abyss beat Foley and Angle when Morgan pinned Foley with the Carbon Footprint.
10.16.09 – Mick Foley talks crap about Abyss copying his career so Abyss attacks. But Abyss sees on the screen Stevie is attacking Lauren and goes to save her. But it’s a trap and they three beat down Abyss.

My Prediction: This match is going to be bloody and brutal. With the “passing the torch” theme of the show, Abyss has to go over Foley here. Expect Foley to take a sick bump in the process.

“The Boss” Bobby Lashley vs. Samoa Joe

No Surrender – Samoa Joe successfully defended his X-Division Championship against Chris Daniels. Bobby Lashley pinned Rhino.
09.24.09 – In a 3-way title match, Samoa Joe makes Homicide submit to retain his title in a match that Daniels was also involved in. Bobby Lashley squashed Jethro Holliday.
10.01.09 – Bobby Lashley made Doug Williams tap in a six man match and while celebrating, Samoa Joe attacks from behind and takes Lashley out.
10.08.09 – Samoa Joe hates Lashley so much he tells the ref he wants him to interfere in his X-Division Title match against Amazing Red. This allows Red to win the title. The MCMG introduce their new theme music so Joe kills them and calls out Lashley. They brawl and Joe drops an elbow onto Lashley, off a scaffold and through a table. Wow…
10.16.09 – Lashley was being interviewed when Rhino gored him. He then beats Rhino is a stretcher match. After the match, Joe sucker punches him again and locks him in the Kokina Klutch.

My Prediction: Samoa Joe started this feud and has taken out Lashley three times over the last month. Lashley’s only retribution was costing Joe the X-Division Championship, but other than that has gotten in little offense. With Joe so dominant over Lashley, it is sad that it is obvious Joe will lose. TNA is high on Lashley being a two-sport star and they will put him over Joe to prove it.

Kurt Angle vs. “The Blueprint” Matt Morgan

No Surrender – A.J. Styles pinned Kurt Angle for the TNA World Championship after Matt Morgan hit the Carbon Footprint.
09.24.09 – Matt Morgan and Hernandez beat Eric Young and Kurt Angle when Angle threw Young into Morgan’s Carbon Footprint.
10.01.09 – Kurt and Hernandez fought to a double countout and then Kurt got attacked by the World Elite. Angle returns the favor by interfering in the Eric Young vs. Matt Morgan match and the MEM jump them until the World Elite make the save.
10.08.09 – Matt Morgan and Abyss beat Kurt Angle and Mick Foley when Morgan pinned Foley.
10.16.09 – Angle and Styles go to a 2-minute draw in a great main event.

My Prediction: Kurt Angle has been on freaking fire this month. He went to a double countout with Hernandez and had to fight off the World Elite the entire month. He lost two tag team matches but was never the man who was pinned and then he took the World Champion to a 20-minute draw, which ended with Styles’ in the ankle lock. The theme is passing the torch, but I see Angle winning here, but making Morgan look like a million bucks in doing so. This will help Angle be the only MEM member who wins (the opposite of last month) and I think he conveniently forgets their success at No Surrender and helps setup the splintering of the MEM through his arrogance.

TNA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: “The Icon” Sting vs. champion “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles

No Surrender – A.J. Styles pinned Kurt Angle to win the TNA World Championship. Sting allowed this to happen even though he had a chance to break up the pinfall.
09.24.09 – Styles thanks Sting for passing the torch to him and offers Sting the first title shot. Sting accepts.
10.01.09 – Styles and Sting do a sit down interview.
10.08.09 – Sting talks about possibly retiring if he does not meet his own standards in the match. This brings down Kurt Angle who says Sting should have already retired. Angle attacks Sting and puts him in the ankle lock until Styles makes the save.
10.16.09 – A.J. Styles stands with the fan favorites against the Mafia to start the show. Nice moment when Bubba hands the mic to his world champion, A.J. Styles. In the main event, Styles and Angle go to a time limit draw in a great no-title match.

My Prediction: Bound For Glory is Sting’s PPV and that is why, by putting over Styles in this match, he will have effectively passed the torch to the next generation. There is a chance Styles turns bad but I think Sting does the right thing here.
