The Tuesday Slim-To-None News Report 11.17.09
Posted by Scott Slimmer on 11.17.2009
Small ordered me to do the job while he takes a break, so we’ve got a special video message for Randle, photo evidence of Mickie James’ commitment to her fans, an update on Shane McMahon’s job search, Dixie Carter’s sweet tweets of wisdom, and a bunch of YouTube videos featuring Bryan Danielson.
Last week, Jeff Small made an impassioned plea to the 411 Universe. He has been working on his award winning* news report all day, every day for the past four years, and his dedication to internet wrestling journalism is an inspiration to us all. He doesn't eat, he doesn't sleep, he doesn't get laid… although, in fairness, he probably wouldn't get laid all that much anyway. All he does is write about wrestling, and he does it all for you. For his readers. For his Smallophiles. For the 411 Universe. But after four years of tirelessly striving to be the best damn news reporter in the IWC, last week Jeff Small made a startling admission. He's grown a bit weary of the burden that he shoulders, and he needs a brief respite to refocus his desire to share his gift with the world. And so he asked for someone to volunteer to fill-in for him this week while he healed his broken body and heavily medicated his troubled mind. It was a simple request, and helping Jeff Small in his time of need is the least that we can do for him after all that he has sacrificed for us.
Unfortunately, the only volunteer was Randle's cat. And while Small did seriously consider Buddy's offer, he suddenly realized that he had another option. Since I now technically work for him, he could simply tell me to write the whole damn report myself. And that's what he did. And not only that, he's making me write it in the established "Small For All" style. You know, lots of goofy pictures and videos, not so much with those pesky words. And so here we are. I don't want to be here, you don't want me to be here, and we can all blame Small for this fine little mess. But I really shouldn't be so hard on Small. I mean, Slimmer and Small, we're a team, you know? I drive the car, and he finds the bombs. We tried it the other way, but it didn't work.
Screw it, we all know the only reason that Small has been writing this news report for so long is because Csonka didn't want to work Tuesdays.
Before we move on, I do want to congratulate Randle on his six year anniversary writing The Wrestling News Experience. To show my appreciation, I wanted to get two of Randle's favorite Canadians, Edge and Christian, to record a special message for the occasion. Unfortunately, I could only afford Colt Cabana and El Generico. So here you go, Randle, this one's for you. Happy Anniversary!
Wait for it…
Wait for it…
Yes, yes…
Oh crap, I don't have my own banner. I probably should have thought of that earlier…
Hold on a second…
Much better…
Here we go…
Small asked me to start by answering some of the mail that he's been too damn busy to read himself. Too busy, Small? Really? For future reference, watching Gary Unmarried isn't "busy," it's just sad. Anyway, I personally don't have anything against Paul Cohen, so the Paul Cohen Douchebag will be on hiatus this week. In its place, I'm proud to present the debut edition of the Sim Snuka Deucebag.
Our first letter is from y2jsellsout589, if that is your real name.
My apologies Small, for while i feel that you are a cancer on this sight, a walking homonogeneous glob of suck that absorbs, nay, that cancels out, any positive self imposing character which could be featured on this sorry excuse of a wrestling sight, my media contracts force me to admit, while i would not be caught dead in any way shape or form at all linked to this horrendess sight, I will humbly concede that Swanson Hungry Man is the future, nay, the DESTINY, of the WWE! No other product shows the passion, the exponential energy of the WWE! No other product, save for the turkey/cranberry will ever fulfill me in any deep sated way like the WWE championship!

Thanks for writing, y2jsellsout589. I agree that… um… okay, I don't even know where to begin here. But this guy is one Destrucity reference away from nailing a spot-on Warrior impersonation. And speaking of Destrucity, there are not one but TWO definitions to be found on Urban Dictionary:
1. destrucity
In its design, Destrucity represents a constellation existing in the heavens which symbolizes the "Eight Disciplines" by which Warriors choose to live their lives. Brought to existence by the destinies of those willing to die for their Beliefs, brought to exist as a place where people live by Belief in the evolution of their Higher Selves – constantly evolving toward a completion of their chosen destiny-all with strength in the denial of "System Beliefs" – the very Beliefs that amplify differences in and create rights, wrongs, judgements, and opinions of people, places, and things.
The Ultimate Warrior lost his mind and made up a word called Destrucity.
2. Destrucity
Tri-fold in its definition, therefore meaning...
1. The name of the Galaxy in WARRIOR wherein the "Terrain of Testament" lies.
2. The Living of one's life in the Way of a Warrior according to a Warrior's 8 Disciplines. Those are as follows: 1) Physical, 2) Beliefs, 3) Moment of Mastery, 4) Attitude, 5) Commitment, 6) Association, 7) Integrity, 8) Wisdom.
3: The creating of a truce between one's Destiny and one's Reality. Promising to stay true to what one is destined to be, yet accepting what is the now... one's reality.
"Dreams are the movies that tell one's story… Some already told… some not yet written." – Warrior Wisdom
Since John was a WARRIOR, he adhered to the tenets of Destrucity. Although his friends could understand Integrity and Wisdom, when he tried to explain his commitment to Moment of Mastery and Beliefs, they assumed correctly that he had gone insane and promptly got the fuck away from him.
Yes, y2jsellsout589 is truly on his way to mastering Destrucity and living the Way of the Warrior. But I still don't understand how the Swanson Hungry-Man dinner fits into the story.
NEWS FROM TITAL TOWERS
Mickie James signs an unique autograph at Toronto's Union Station on Tuesday, March 20, 2007 to promote WrestleMania 23.
Okay, so maybe a picture from two years ago doesn't technically count as "news." But it seems as though there has been a ton of talk about the lovely Ms. James in the Small-For-All comments section as of late, so I just thought I'd share my humble opinion. Say what you will about dear, sweet Mickie James. Maybe she's put on a pound or two or twenty. Maybe she occasionally botches a move or nearly decapitates a fellow Diva. But I still love her, damn it, and this picture clearly demonstrates that Mickie really is willing go the extra mile for her fans. The bottom line is that I simply have no idea who could actually dislike this wonderful, beautiful, caring woman.
Oh, right. I forgot about her.
Shane McMahon met with UFC head Dana White last week.
This story sort of got buried by the recent Brock Lesnar news coming out of UFC, but I found it strangely fascinating. Many assumed that Shane had resigned from WWE to work on his mother's campaign, but could he have an entirely different motivation? Could Shane actually be aiming for a position with UFC? I guess we'll just have to wait and see, but I would wager that this news will have very little impact upon the on-screen product presented by WWE or UFC. Now that Shane has left WWE, his influence upon the WWE product has obviously decreased considerably. (Although, since he is still a McMahon, it's probably unwise to assume that he will ever be completely without influence within the promotion.) As for UFC, if Shane is being considered for a position within the company, then it's most likely a position working behind the scenes in distribution, merchandising, etc. But hey, we can still hold out hope that we'll get to see Shane hit Anderson Silva with the Coast-to-Coast at some point.
WWE confirmed the rumor from earlier today that Jesse Ventura will be hosting Monday Night Raw next week.
Sounds good to me. What's the over / under on the number of times that Cole will say, "Vintage Ventura!"?
Rey Mysterio has a knee injury right now, and is expected to take time off soon. This may cause the program with Batista to be rushed.
This late-breaking news sucks hard and mighty, that is for certain. However, I'm not really worried that Mysterio's injury will diminish the quality of his Survivor Series match against Batista. Mysterio has a history of pulling out surprisingly good matches even while injured (think Rey / Chavo or Rey / Edge), so I have no doubt that Rey Rey can work through the pain. Unfortunately, I do think that Mysterio's injury telegraphs the outcome of his match this Sunday. It would only make sense for Batista to decimate him as a way to explain his impending absence. Of course, earlier in the year Batista himself went into a match injured and walked out as the WWE Champion, so what the hell do I know?
• I'm having dinner with my grandmother this evening, so I need to submit this news report several hours before Raw airs. As such, I'm going to have to guess what may transpire on tonight's action packed episode. However, given the fact that the creative team seems to be using the Mad Lib approach to writing Raw, I should be able to hit the nail on the head at least a few times.
• And here comes Jericho to open the show as usual. But seriously, why is he cutting a promo on Kane even though Kane isn't even booked in a match this Sunday?
• DX should not be wearing kilts. HBK's legs are whiter than Sheamus'.
• And speaking of Sheamus, here's his squash of the week. Many thanks to whoever convinced him to replace the pump kick with the crucifix powerbomb as his finisher.
• Backstage fun with Piper, Santino, and Chavo. Yada, yada, yada, coconut shot to Chavo.
• Honestly, the Melina / Alicia match wasn't as bad as it could have been. But that's only because "as bad as it could have been" would have actually involved at least one of them leaving the ring on a stretcher.
• What's more depressing, the fact that Chavo lost 37 straight matches to a midget, or the fact that he just lost a match to a senior citizen in a dress?
• The main event was fun, but when the gong hit at the end of the show last week, I was really hoping that Cena's partner would turn out to be the Underswoggle.
NEWS FROM BRO-TOWN
A.K.A., random things that sweet, sweet Dixie Carter tweeted to the world.
Dixie Carter announced on her TWITTER tonight that she has signed Pope D'Angelo Dinero to a new, long term contract.
"Right before I walked in to watch the PPV just now, The Pope and I signed his new long term deal. He IS the real deal."
Good for the Pope. I really enjoyed his run in ECW a few years ago, and I still don't understand how WWE could see the value in CM Punk and John Morrison but so completely miss the boat with Elijah Burke. I do question whether he will be able to find any success outside of the X-Division in TNA, but maybe some time down in Orlando will give him the kind of exposure he needs to earn a second shot with WWE. I mean, it worked for R-Truth, right?
Dixie Carter made the following comments on her TWITTER page, regarding injuries at the Turning Point PPV…
"Kurt threw his back out early in the match last night & gutted out the next 15+ mins as he & Desmond delivered one of the best of the year"
"No other injuries to report from the PPV. Kurt pushed thru last night and will not miss any action."
This is both terrifying and amazing, all at the same time. It's terrifying because we all know that Angle's back is delicate at best, and I cringe every time I hear about him trying to work through the pain. However, it's also amazing that Angle could injure his back early in the match and still deliver a legitimate MOTYC. Just imagine what he and Wolfe could have put together under ideal conditions.
VIDEO KILLED THE RADIO STAR
We here at 411 Wrestling are busy preparing our annual 411 Year End Awards. I've been compiling the nominations made in the Super Secret 411 Staff Forum during the course of the year, and I realized that I managed to miss some great matches and promos this year. In case you missed them as well, here are a few of my new favorites. Enjoy!
COMING ATTRACTIONS
Small should be well rested and mostly sober by next week, so I would expect him to make his triumphant return to these hallowed halls. Oh freaking joy.
Cook is in tomorrow.
For the Tuesday Slim-To-None News Report, I'm not Jeff Small… and thankfully, neither are you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, let's all lay off Mickie James. She signed a baby's ass. That proves she's a class act. As long as you ignore:
-The sleazy porno photos she did years ago
-Her appearance on Jenny Jones, where she acted like a cheap stripper...badly
-The fact she botches just as many moves as her opponents, yet never gets blamed for shitty matches
-The fact that she's out of shape and can't keep up a decent pace anymore
-The fact that she acts like a bitch when her opponents screw up their moves
-The fact that her name has been linked to just as many guys, if not more, than Lita
-The fact that some people pretend she's beautiful, even though she looks like a female Gary Busey
-The fact that she is not over anymore, yet some people still talk about how she can't leave because she's "the most popular diva"
-The fact that she appears MUCH older than 30, and will probaly look like Vickie Guererro in about a year or two
I think her fans should let the obsession go. She clearly doesn't care anymore. If she sticks around much longer I'd be surprised. I wish her luck in her music career, even though I know it will fail. I just can't stand the site of this overrated woman anymore.

sadly there will be a lot of unnecessary hate on Mickie written by people here. So what she's added a couple pounds, it shows she's human. And the fact that it's news that she has botched a couple moves shows how great she has been through the years that people notice when she messes up. Others mess up frequently enough that it's not news. Mickie vs Natalya was a great match. Mickie is great, no two ways about it.

I see a midget Shane and midget Dana White on a future RAW. Vinny always works out his anger through the use of midgets.

I'm totally confused about the John Cena and Mickie James relationship, all I know is that they dated for a while and it got turned into a storyline so was John still with that one chick cause that would be REALLY stupid.

I think the anti-Mickie brigade needs to stop with their obsession. It's just wrestling you nerds.

I saw Mickie James on RAW last week and she still looked pretty hot to me! not fat or out of shape in any way. So shes not a stick figure. thats a good thing!
these guys shes 'linked' with...who? and when?
Posted By: huh? (Guest) on November 17, 2009 at 10:28 AM
I think it's odd how people diss Mickie because the (ricockulously) percieve her as fat, and then they go and cheer Samoa Joe match.
She's not as hot as she was during the psycho lesbian stalker angle - for some mysterious reason - but I could still do some very naughty things with that fox.
Wouldn't it be ironic if Batista overexerted himself whilst mauling ReyRey and wound up injuring himself again.

Deucebag for the win!

Mickie has been using that great match with Trish at WM (and the angle leading up to it) to keep her over for too long (considering after that year's backlash that entire aspect to her character was pretty much dropped)
Like so many others in the history of WWE, she was over until management noticed and promptly "neutered" the character (maybe spayed would be a better word?)

Hey, at least I can see my dick. Unlike most of the IWC. Mickie is one of the best women's wrestlers in the world. LMAO!!! She does four moves every match:
Dropkick
Dive off top rope
Lou Thez Press
And then her finisher, either the DDT or that shitty kick she botches half the time.
Her matches are more predictable than your average Cena match. The only reason her match with Natalya was watchable was because it consisted of Nattie beating the shit out of her the whole time. When Mickie had to make her comebacks, it was slow and predictable. And the match was only about three minutes long, but you Mickie marks want to pretend it was "great". Have the standards really become that low?
The crowd rightfully gave no reaction to the match, because there was nothing worth reacting to. The only entertaining part of the match was watching the horseface overact when McCool cut up her clothes. Mickie acted like she just saw somebody kick a puppy. Or maybe somebody eating the last slice of pizza she was eyeing backstage.
The Mickie hate would probay die down if all her marks didn't run online to defend her all the time, while freely bashing every other woman. Double standards are amazing. You put down everyone else, and act appaled when somebody calls out Mickie for being overrated. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Although it looks like Mickie has been eating alot of cake lately, mirite?

I half agree with you. They did tone down the character. But that only exposed Mickie as a one trick pony. She has never proven that she could be interesting as anything other than a psycho. Victoria had the same problem. Playing "crazy" is one of the easiest things to do in wrestling. When that dies down though, you better bring something else to the table. She doesn't. As she is now, Mickie is easily replaceable.
If she continues to behave the way she has, you can fully expect her to get a brutal exit. Just ask some of the women of the past what happens when you mouth off to WWE. McMahon has no patience for women with an attitude. Judging by the way she's been booked recently, I think the burial might have already begun. This feud with McCool is probaly her finale in WWE.

Slimmer, one of the best rip-off's of a Paul Heyman line EVER!!!!!
This is the real Paul Cohen. Glad to meet you. Sorry you are working with/for Small. Whiny, cheap-shotting bitch that he is. Don't like writing a column, don't do it. If you are not paid for it, then don't complain. If you are getting paid for it, then shut the fuck up & do your job. If you have an opinion, speak up. If you think your opinion is fact, remove head from sphincter & take a nap. Hopefully, you will wake up in the reality the rest of us are part of. Again, good on you Slimmer. Made this piece of shit column worth reading.
BTW, you didn't miss much by not watching RAW before writing about it. My cable box froze for an hour & I didn't miss a fucking thing!

I don't think Cena and Mickie ever "dated". He probaly just fucked her a couple of times, because she is nothing more than a glorified ring rat. Now she's doing the same thing with Big Show. Stay classy Fatty James.

I love the way the tide has turned against Mickie James. Now all you have to do is mention her name and it's like sharks smelling blood. Awesome.
Mickie, now might be the time to get out of wrestling. Your attracting the wrong kind of attention. Your obsessive fans are creepier than ever(did you read that letter?) And your haters want really bad shit to happen to you. It just ain't worth it anymore girl.
Posted By: Guest#6194 (Guest) on November 17, 2009 at 06:19 PM

Mickie James is getting the Molly Holly treatment from the internet fanboys. All over her because they see her as a chick they could imagine scoring with, which is more insulting than calling her a fatty.
If you met Mickie James she would probably sign your autograph, but if you asked her out she would laugh in your pimply fat face. Dream about Mickie or dream about Maryse, it doesn't matter, cause they are both just a dream and neither of them want anything to do with your junk.

He even obliges by showing it in the comments section.

If you don't think WWE is burying Mickie, wait till you see Smackdown this week. From the early spoilers I have read, it ain't pretty. Remember the treatment Vickie Guererro got on the way out earlier this year? Just as bad. Matt Striker comparing her to a horse last week was just the beginning.
Posted By: Guest#4803 (Guest) on November 17, 2009 at 10:56 PM

Once again, a Mickie mark makes it painfully obvious why it's so easy to make fun of her. She might be a "dream girl" for you, but that's because your standards are so low. Mickie James is an average looking woman, nothing more. Stop acting like she's some woman that is way out of our league. I see better looking women every single day, be it at work, at the store, in restaurants, you name it, there are prettier women walking around everywhere.
You also mentioned Molly Holly in your post like a dumbass. There's a few diffrences between her and Mickie. One, the IWC is pretty fond of Molly, because she was actually skilled in the ring(not terribly overrated like Mickie is). Most people online still bash WWE for labeling Molly a fatass. Two, Molly was never overpushed the way Mickie usually is. I really hope McCool beats Fatty James, because the idea of another bland Mickie title reign makes me want to stab my eyes out with a pencil. And three, Molly is actually cute, much better looking than Mickie. But she's not pushed as some raving beauty, the way you pathetic Mickie marks try and do with your girl.
If you want to see what WWE thinks of Mickie's looks, tune in to Smackdown this week. Just prepare to cry your eyes out as they finally admit what many of us have known for a long time.

I agree. It's about the only reason I go to wrestling sites these days. The Mickie haters have owned the Mickie fans. It's not even close.
Her fans keep coming up with the same shit: if you think she's fat/not hot your crazy, she works with bad opponents, she's "over", blah blah blah. The haters have come up with better reasons to dislike her, and are funnier.
It's only going to get worse when people see Smackdown this week.

And with the first comment, this battle is over. Her fans are going to have to do alot better if they want to compete with the people making fun of her. Her fans are running out of excuses, while the bashers keep making me laugh my ass off. I'm neutral when it comes to Mickie, although I will admit she is becoming easier to mock every week. It's like Lita all over again.
Mickie Haters >>>>>>> Mickie Fans
Posted By: Guest#3264 (Guest) on November 18, 2009 at 03:56 PM
lol I think the fact that the "haters" think they are "winning" at something is fucking funny.
"We are able to think of better reasons then the fans!" lol *claps* Congrats! You guys have nothing better to do then to think of reasons to hate Mickie James!
I'm a fan. Not because I think she is a tremendous worker, because I don't. Not because I think she is the hottest chick in the world, because she's not. I'm a fan because when she comes out to wrestle, I get excited in my nether regions. And I would like to bang her. Hard. And thats all that matters to me.
However, Im rather curious. Why does Mickie spark so much hate? I can think of worse female workers than Mickie, sluttier female workers than Mickie, and less attractive female workers than Mickie. So why does she spark so much hate? Seems to me these haters are lovers that are pissed off at her for various reasons.

In my opinion, because she's overpushed. She's gotten the best diva run since Trish and Lita left, even though she's not nearly as popular as either one of them. That's not even debatable, she flat out is not in their league in the eyes of most fans.
If she was able to change things up once in awhile, she probaly would not be so hated now. But she has had no development in about three years. Sadly, I think this angle with McCool is only going to give people more ammunition.
Her overzealous fans also contributed to this. Some people have overpraised her for so long that they brought out the worst in other people. Because they don't see what's so great about her, they decide they must humiliate her, to prove a point. The fact that WWE seems to be encouraging this will only add more fuel to the fire.
I think she's picking a good time to get out, if she is in fact leaving.

Seriously sorry bro. Last week in the article Small did a joke bit about Swanson TV dinners, i was absolutely WASTED, and wondered what would happen if y2j was paid a rediculous amount to sell Swansons...admit it though, even sober, that's funny!

Has Mickie James gotten boaring over the last year or so? Absolutely! Do I think she has been over pushed? ~No~ Not when you look at the rest of the woman's roster. Esp the faces..Like her or not, her and Beth have had some decent matches...and you certainly can't blame her b/c the creative team can't come up with any decent stories for the women...I think they should have been pushing Gail over the last year..but other than her and Mickie, who else on RAW was there to push?
(BTW I don't think Lita deserved all the hate she got either)
