Posted by Shawn S. Lealos on 12.18.2009
Hey, didn't they sign some guy named Hulk Hogan? Doesn't matter because A.J. Styles vs Chris Daniels and Kurt Angle vs. Desmond Wolfe will bring down the house.
Welcome to the TNA Preview for FINAL RESOLUTION 2009. I am Shawn S. Lealos and you have entered my world.

Notes
Wrestlers to appear on every Final Resolution card to date: A.J. Styles, Chris Sabin, James Storm, Abyss
.
Beer Money Inc. were on separate sides of the ring in 2005 when Americas Most Wanted beat Team Canada in a NWA World Tag Team Championship Match
The Motor City Machine Guns were on separate sides of the ring in 2006 when the two faced off in a six-man match, with Alex Shelley earning the pinfall victory.
Final Resolution moved from January to December in 2008, meaning there were two PPVs that year.
When Curry Man won a briefcase in Feast or Fired, it marked the second time Chris Daniels was fired in this type of match.
Last Man Standing Match: Bobby Lashley vs. Scott Steiner
The Feast or Fired Battle Royal: Beer Money, Kevin Nash, Jay Lethal, Consequences Creed, Cody Deaner, Samoa Joe, Sheik Abdul Bashir, Kiyoshi and Homicide
Team 3-D, Rhino and Jesse Neal vs. Matt Morgan, Hernandez, Pope D'Angelo Dinero and Suicide
Team 3-D, Rhino and Jesse Neal vs. Matt Morgan, Hernandez, Pope D'Angelo Dinero and Suicide
FORMER PPV RESULTS - Team 3D and Rhino beat Hernandez, Morgan and Dinero when Rhino pinned Hernandez. 11.19.09 - Team 3D and Rhino beat Hernandez, Morgan and Dinero in a street fight when Jesse Neal interefered. 11.26.09 - Dinero was pinned by Kurt Angle. 12.03.09 - Dinero asks Suicide for help in their PPV match. Suicide pins Homicide and then Dinero saves Suicide from a post match beating. Dinero pins Jesse Neal and Suicide saves him from a post match beating. 12.10.09 - All eight men are scheduled to fight on Impact but Dinero is nowhere to be found. The bad guys win and start a beat down until Dinero limps out to help. 12.17.09 - Bubba Ray beat Hernandez in a lumberjack match where all their partners are the lumberjacks.
My Prediction: This is a feud of the young guns against the old guard. I can see this going one of two ways. First, there can be a swerve that ends the feud with Suicide or Dinero turning on their teammates, branching the feud in another direction. I think more likely, the young guys win to set up a rubber match next month.
Mick Foley and Abyss vs. Raven and Dr. Stevie
11.19.09 - Mick Foley starts whining about not knowing about Hulk Hogan. Raven and Stevie challenge Foley and Abyss to a match. Because Foley is still suffering from a burned eye, Abyss locks him in his office and then wins by DQ when Raven tried to throw another fireball. They then hung Abyss from his neck with an electrical cord. 11.26.09 - Abyss tapped out to Bobby Lashley. That might be a first. 12.03.09 - Foley is spending more time asking about Hogan then paying attention to Raven and Stevie. He ends up pitting them in a handicap match against Kurt Angle and says he wins no matter what. Raven taps out to Angle. 12.10.09 - Foley goes to Nashville to find Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett is coming back. It's too bad he wasn't there when Raven and Stevie caught Abyss' leg on fire. 12.17.09 - Mick Foley went to LA to meet Hulk Hogan but met Lou Ferrigno, The Hulk. Because Kevin Nash set up the meeting, Mick Foley attacked Nash before the show but Nash was saved by the World Elite. Nash said January 4, Hulk Hogan will be there live and Mick Foley will be unemployed. Abyss came in and asked if Foley forgot about their match at the PPV. I was wondering the same thing. Abyss, Raven and Stevie were involved in a 10-man match but fought to the back and brawled in the parking area while Foley got Jeff Jarrett to apologize to Kurt Angle.
My Prediction: Abyss asks if Foley forgot about this feud and I think most people have as well. I don't want to see Raven come and go quick again so I hope he sticks around this time and I have always been a Stevie fan. As a result, I am hoping - and think - Raven and Stevie wins thanks to Foley's distractions.
The Feast or Fired Battle Royal: Beer Money, Kevin Nash, Jay Lethal, Consequences Creed, Cody Deaner, Samoa Joe, Sheik Abdul Bashir, Kiyoshi, Eric Young, Rob Terry and Homicide
FORMER PPV RESULTS - Samoa Joe lost in the World Championship match. Beer Money lost in the Tag Team Championship match. Homicide lost in the X-Division Championship match. The rest of the guys weren't involved. 11.19.09 - Kevin Nash has (a) joined forces with Eric Young and (b) started talking up Hogan's return. Beer Money team with MCMG to get a win. 11.26.09 - Suicide was pinned by Desmond Wolfe. Robert Roode pinned Homicide and beat Kurt Angle by count-out before losing to Bobby Lashley in the number one contender's tournament. 12.03.09 - Homicide loses to Suicide. Eric Young and Kevin Nash beat Beer Money when Young pins Storm. 12.10.09 - Joe is in Feast or Fired because he is going to force his way into a title shot. Roode wants in for the same reason but Storm doesn't like it. 12.17.09 - Beer Money and Samoa Joe were debating whether they deserved title shots or not. Then Eric Young came out and said Kiyoshi, Bashir, Homicide, Rob Terry, Kevin Nash and himself will all be in the match as well to make sure they don't win.
My Prediction: I hate this match. I don't mind the briefcases and think having all three belts included differentiates it enough from the Money in the Bank match. However, I hate the Fired part of this match. I guess it is a way to let someone go who wants out of their contract (Petey Williams) or someone who needs a gimmick change (Chris Daniels - twice). That said, they also like to swerve the thing here (remember Scott Steiner winning the X-Division briefcase?) The entire World Elite is involved here so that seems to keep the advantage to them. I see Samoa Joe getting a case, either the X-Division or World Championship. I would not be surprised to see James Storm get the World Championship case. Lethal Consequences might get the tag title shot but more likely it will be a member of World Elite. As for the fired, my choices in order are (1) Rob Terry (2) Cody Deaner (3) Homicide (4) Kevin Nash.
Last Man Standing Match: Bobby Lashley vs. Scott Steiner
FORMER PPV RESULTS - In a Falls Count Anywhere match, Steiner gave Lashley his first loss by KOing him with a lead pipe. 11.19.09 - Scott Steiner kills Amazing Red and gets disqualified for it. Lashley saves Red from more damage. 11.26.09 - In a one-night tournament to determine the new number one contender to the World Championship, Lashley beat Abyss by submission, Desmond Wolfe by disqualification and Robert Roode by pinfall to become the new number one contender. 12.03.09 - Kristal does all of Lashley's talking for him now. 12.10.09 - Scott Steiner and Awesome Kong beat Lashley and Kristal when Steiner pins Kristal. 12.17.09 - Both men were involved in a 10-man match but fought to the back and brawled in the parking area.
My Prediction: Scotty won last month, Lashley wins this month. Next month should be the rubber match unless Lashley cashes in his number one contender-ship.
FORMER PPV RESULTS - ODB retained her Knockouts belt in a six-man match while Tara pinned Awesome Kong in a Six Sides of Steel match. 11.19.09 - ODB has a talk show and I don't care. 11.26.09 - Tara won a battle royal with ODB as the guest referee. 12.03.09 - ODB has a talk show and uses it to beat up Tara. 12.10.09 - ODB beats Tara in a stupid match where they both have to fight drunk. 12.17.09 - A returning Roxxi pinned ODB in a non-title match. ODB attacked Roxxi after the match and Tara made the save.
My Prediction: ODB is becoming a great bad guy right now and I say she wins here leading to a shot for Roxxi..
FORMER PPV RESULTS - The British Invasion retained their belts in a six-man match against Beer Money and the Motor City Machine Guns, pinning Robert Roode of Beer Money. 11.19.09 - The MCMG and Beer Money beat World Elite and The British Invasion when Rob Terry screwed up and cost his team the match. 11.26.09 - Nothing. 12.03.09 - Alex Shelley pins Doug Williams in a singles' match. 12.10.09 - Chris Sabin beats ALL THREE MEMBERS of the British Invasion by pinfall. 12.17.09 - The MCMG did an interview where they say everyone always overlooks their accomplishments but they are going to win the belts this weekend. The British Invasion were on the losing end of the 10-man clusterfuck when Magnus was pinned by World Champion A.J. Styles.
My Prediction: It is their time. The Motor City Machine Guns win here or they never will.
Three Degrees Of Pain Cage Match: Kurt Angle vs. Desmond Wolfe
Fall Number One: Pinfall
Fall Number Two: Submission
Fall Number Three: Escape
FORMER PPV RESULTS - Kurt Angle beat Desmond Wolfe in a fantastic match. 11.19.09 - Desmond Wolfe and Chris Daniels beat A.J. Styles and Kurt Angle. 11.26.09 - In the number one contenders tournament, Wolfe pinned Suicide and then was disqualified for not releasing a choke hold in the ropes to Bobby Lashley. Wolfe than came out and cost Angle his match against Roode by causing him to be counted out. 12.03.09 - Desmond Wolfe starts the show in a cage and eventually Angle comes out to face him. Wolfe gets the upper hand and knocks Angle out with brass knuckles. Angle and Wolfe are supposed to fight but Foley changes it to Angle vs. Stevie and Raven. Angle makes Raven tap out. Wolfe attacks after the match and lays out Angle again. 12.10.09 - Desmond Wolfe is pinned by Styles in a World Championship match when Daniels distracts him. The two brawl to finish the show. 12.17.09 - Desmond Wolfe and Chris Daniels fought to a time limit draw. Kurt Angle competed in a clusterfuck 10-man match and ended up on the winning team. After the match, Wolfe took Angle down and locked in a hard armlock as the show went off the air.
My Prediction: This is going to be a great match. Kurt Angle is probably either going to get the next title shot or get overlooked again causing him to finally join the Foley regime against the incoming Hulk Hogan. Desmond Wolfe will win the first fall and Angle will make Wolfe tap for the second fall. Then I see Wolfe escaping the cage to get the win. It's going to be epic.
FORMER PPV RESULTS - In a MOTY candidate, A.J. Styles pinned Samoa Joe in a three way match that also included Chris Daniels. 11.19.09 - Chris Daniels teamed with Desmond Wolfe and pinned AJ Styles, who was teaming with Kurt Angle, to prove he could beat A.J. 11.26.09 - Chris Daniels and A.J. Styles face off in the ring. 12.03.09 - Daniels pins Abyss thanks to Beautiful People distractions. After the match Daniels calls out A.J. and when Styles makes it to the ring the masked man attacks him and lays him out again. 12.10.09 - Styles pins Desmond Wolfe when Daniels distracts him. Daniels and Wolfe fight after the match. 12.17.09 - Desmond Wolfe and Chris Daniels fought to a time limit draw. A.J. Styles pinned Brutus Magnus in the 10-man clusterfuck match. After the match, Daniels attacked and hit the Angels Wings, standing over A.J. with the belt to end the show.
My Prediction: As much as I want to see Chris Daniels get his run with the belt, I don't see them taking it off A.J. yet.
The card look good. With Roxxi back hopefully we can get a feud between her and daffney...
anyways I hated the build up to Foley/Abyss vs Raven/Stevie. Foley barley did anything to add to the feud and the excuse was "I'm doing this for TNA" bullshit.
Daniels/AJ should be awesome. Angle/Wolfe is probably match of the night if AJ/Daniels don't take that title.
I really liked the 6-man tag from TP and the 8-man elimination should be fun.
ODB's gimmick is too over the top and seems to get in the way of her matches. I'm pulling for Tara in this one.
British Invasion vs. MCMG is the sleeper IMO. Doug Williams is great, the Guns are fun (tho they can't sell for shit) and Brutus Magnus has improved 10 fold since debuting. BI held their own against 3D and Beer Money so I have high hopes.
Steiner/Lashley could be good. BUT its gonna be slow as hell. Of course I'm judging from the way they wrestled at last months PPV.
Overall I think its gonna be 4 good PPVs in a row for TNA. While Impact can is too random (one week good the next week bad) they're very consistent on the quality of PPVs.
Wait...No Amazing Red?

I wonder when Angle vs Lashley will happen?

I think the Brits will retain cause TNA has a tour of The UK coming soon next month and they are on the card. Chances are that they will still be champs for the tour.
And on a side note I hope Cody Deaner gets the fired case.

is the global championship one of the championship briefcases?

"As for the fired, my choices in order are (1) Rob Terry (2) Cody Deaner (3) Homicide (4) Kevin Nash."
Deaner's the only one that makes sense. Rob Terry's still involved with British Invasion, Homicide's with World Elite and the X-Division feud with Red, Kevin Nash is Kevin Nash. Deaner hasn't even been on TV in months.
Deaner's the only choice.

Deaner or Jay Lethal will get fired, that's my pick. Deaner 'cos he disappeared which is good 'cos he was annoying and Jay Lethal getting fired for gimmick change due to recent losses with legends. It may also become that Robert Roode will get fired or get a title shot (X division?) to break up the Beer Money 'cos it seems they're heading this way and I would hate to see that.

AJ-Daniels alone might be worth it. Give these guys 20 minutes minimum (really, you want them to be going 30-40 though) and that's wrestling.
