411 Interviews: JT Dunn of Beyond Wrestling
Posted by TJ Hawke on 12.14.2011

JT Dunn is an independent wrestler who is currently working for Beyond Wrestling. Currently in Beyond, he has aligned himself with Leon St. Giovanni and Jon Harder in their Professional Revolution against Beyond Wrestling. I interviewed Giovanni recently at 411, which can be read here .

For more info on Beyond Wrestling, check out their:

My review of Beyond Wrestling's Tournament for Tomorrow that will soon be put on Youtube for free here .

TJ: You lost to Leon St. Giovanni at Beyond Wrestling's About Time. In a Beyond website blog about the loss, you wrote, "St. Giovanni humiliated me. I gave him my best and my best just wasn't good enough. Having Jon Harder in his corner gave him a distinct advantage. They stopped at nothing to make a statement at my expense, no less with all of the other wrestlers and fans standing ringside. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what led to their victory. " Why did this big loss make you want to join Giovanni and Harder's movement against Beyond Wrestling?

JT:
The loss to Giovanni opened my eyes to a new side of Beyond Wrestling. It was their first "live" show where it was not just the other wrestlers ringside, and I was left off the show. Giovanni came out, I stepped up and lost. They knew how to win, they knew what they wanted to do then went it got it done. I was 3-0 in Beyond Wrestling, climbing the ranks fast. I then became 3-3 quickly and I was forgotten about. I want to win, I want to be relevant, Harder and Giovanni clearly provide both. The decision was easy after "About Time" that it was about damn time I smartened up and got back on track.

(Note from Author: That match can be viewed in a video beneath the interview)

TJ: What are your goals for this movement started by Jon Harder and Giovanni? Do you have friends in Beyond that you think share your frustrations, and maybe will want to join you?

JT:
My goals within this movement are simple, I, as well as Harder and Giovanni, want to win. We want to show Beyond Wrestling and all its fans just how unprofessional this place is. We want to wrestle in front of fans, like a real promotion, to show them why we are some of the BEST young talents around. We are always overlooked and not considered when it's time to represent Beyond Wrestling, so from now on we only represent The Professional Revolution. Giovanni and I will be #Winning and shooting up the ranks so fast Denver Colorado will have no choice but remember our names. I have some friends that might share similar feelings, but whether they will join or not...only time will tell.

TJ: When and where did you first get your training as a professional wrestler? I've read a lot of horror stories about trainers ripping off their students. How did your experience go?

JT:
My training at first in 2007-08 was all over the place, I wanted to learn as much as I could from everyone who knew Professional Wrestling. My beginning was a little rocky, anyone that knows me will tell you it took me awhile to get my act together. In 2009, I settled myself down in the New England area to train with some of the local schools. I personally was never taken advantage of or ripped off, thankfully. Over the last year I have worked with some of the best talent around and learned greatly, you will probably see me working hard at various pro wrestling schools in my area. I will continue to train and work out with people I can learn from, pro wrestling knowledge never stops.

TJ: A lot of people out there want to become professional wrestlers. Based on your experiences so far, what would be the most important things you want to tell an aspiring pro wrestler about the profession?

JT:
I would tell people wanting to try to be a Professional Wrestler that they really better want it. If not, someone else who is hungrier is going to step up and take that opportunity right from you. This is not a walk in a park; it takes heart, determination and perseverance. Go to a school, a good school right away. Don't waste time, if you want it go right out there and get it.

TJ: Besides Beyond Wrestling, where else are you working right now? What have been some of your favorite moments/matches so far in your career?

JT:
Aside from Beyond Wrestling I am currently the Lightning Cup Champion for one of New Englands top promotions PWF-NE, I also work with promotions such as: XWA (RI), Full Spectrum Wrestling (MA), SPW (MA), IWE (ME), ACE (NJ), MVW (NJ), NWW-Xtreme,VCW (MA), NCW (RI&MA). Also I've appeared at Top Rope Promotions and CHIKARA Pro. 2012 will be an even bigger breakout year than 2011 was for "The Juice" JT Dunn.

Some of my favorite matches have come much more recently: vs Bob Evans (ROH), vs Shane Strickland, vs Taka Suzuki, vs "The Devils Reject" Brandon Webb, vs "Delicious" Devin Blaze, vs Steve "The Turtle" Weiner, vs Leon St. Giovanni.

I've been able to have great moments in this business, inside and out of the ring. Being able to be a part of Chikara Pro was definitely a top contender, Winning the Lightning Cup at PWF-NE was also up there. Another moment for me that was a favorite was being able to meet and hangout with "King Of Old School' Steve Corino, probably one of the greatest guys to walk this planet. I also got to beat up his son Colby Corino ;) Just Saying.

TJ: What wrestling products are you watching the most of right now? Is there a promotion that is really inspiring you at the moment?

JT:
As of right now I watch a few products, WWE obviously because that is "top dog" in this business, ROH, CHIKARA Pro, Dragon Gate (USA), Evolve. I watch all kinds of Independent Wrestling, supporting Indy Wrestling is a must. WWE has forever inspired me, and ROH is doing so many great things right now.

TJ: What are your goals for your professional wrestling career? Is WWE the ultimate goal?

JT:
I set goals as soon as I got into this business, every time I reach one I set another one just that much higher. The ultimate goal would be WWE, to be able to perform and showcase what I can offer at that level is just the pinnacle. On my way to WWE, I would love to perform in ROH, CHIKARA Pro again, go all over the world to wrestle. Japan is a high goal for me, I want to be known as one of the best to ever step foot in a ring by the time it is all said and done.

TJ: Thanks JT for taking the time to do the interview. Is there anything you would like to plug (Facebook, Twitter, merch, youtube page, how to be booked, etc)?

JT:
I appreciate you having me T.J. It was great to clear my chest about Beyond Wrestling and to let people know how serious the Professional Revolution is. Anyone can LIKE me on Facebook , FOLLOW me @TheJuiceee , and check out my Youtube account . For all booking information I can be reached via email thejuicex8@gmail.com (merchandise can be purchased through any of these).
