Predictions for WWF Survivor Series by the 411 staff
Welcome to the first Rasslin' Roundtable. Today, we are discussing this weekend's WWF PPV, Survivor Series! PK, Ender Levy, Widro, Murtz Jaffer, and Sean McCluskey will all share their views on this Sunday's extravaganza. Let's get right into the matches.
William Regal (c) vs. Hardcore Holly - European Title
PK: Hardcore has just returned, and he immediately gets a European Title shot? Oh well. I don't think they will have him lose cleanly right away. I see a new champ or a screw job.
Winner and new Champion - Hardcore Holly
Ender: It's great to see Hardcore back, but I think that he shouldn't be in this title picture, but with the, surprise, HARDCORE belt. Anyway, don't expect him to take this belt and to return to where he belongs, which is definitely somewhere other than this.
Winner and still Champion - William Regal
Widro: I think Regal retains, he is pretty over. Some sort of new feud could be started, either with a run in, or between Hollys and Regal.
Winner and still Champion - William Regal
Murtz: I gotta go with Regal here. While I would like to see some gold around Hardcore's waist, I think that they are setting up a feud with him and Crash. No need to have the Euro title involved in that feud.
Winner and still Champion - William Regal
Sean: Hopefully the WWF throws Hardcore back to where he was before he was injured. He was getting a fairly big push, one that may of ended up with a WWF Title shot. Either way, Holly will win this one whether it's a DQ or a clean win. My guess is that he'll win it cleanly and resume his push. Who would help William Regal???
Winner and new Champion - Hardcore Holly
Steve Blackman, Crash Holly, and Molly Holly vs. T&A and Trish Stratus
PK: Well, Crash is coming off a lot of momentum after giving Kurt Angle a run for his money, but they seem to be hell bent on pushing T&A. My money will be with the heels.
Winners - T&A and Trish Stratus
Ender: The WWF always seems to decorate and let T&A come out on the long end of the stick, so I don't expect a change here.
Winners - T&A and Trish
Widro: I think Crash and Blackman will win here. I see the Acolytes coming back here and costing T&A the match.
Winners - Steve Blackman, Crash Holly, & Molly Holly
Murtz: Heels have to win here. It is amazing how many times T & A has jobbed recently.
Winners - T&A and Trish Stratus
Sean: Crash and Blackman both seem to be shorting out in popularity. Crash had his 24/7 HC Title reign, and Blackman has been the HC champ for a while now. The day that T&A split up and Test gets a big push is anticipated, but it won't happen here. T&A will take this one.
Winners - T&A and Trish
Buh Buh Dudley/D-Von Dudley/Jeff Hardy/Matt Hardy vs. Edge/Christian/Goodfather/Bull Buchanan
PK: Hardys and E&C wars rage on. The Tag belts just don't look right on the RTC, but the RTC is doing a great job being over as heels. I think the faces will pick up the win here. It will be an exciting match.
Winners - Dudleys and Hardys
Ender: With a strong top card, I am extremely please with the WWF for filling in the under card with a great match like this. The last man standing with these eight should be intriguing, and could become one of the greatest Survivor Series style matches ever.
Winners - Dudley Boyz and Hardy Boyz
Widro: I'll go with the faces here too. The Dudleyz never seem to lose lately, and it builds heat for the tag belts if the champs get pinned in a non title match.
Winners - Dudleyz and Hardyz
Murtz: This match will be interesting only to see if Jeff Hardy is the sole survivor. It is inevitable for him to pursue a singles career, and these Survivor Series match-ups are usually where a singles career can begin.
Winners - Hardys and Dudleys
Sean: Am I the only one that's getting sick of seeing The Dudleyz, The Hardyz, and Edge & Christian fighting every PPV? Not even a face/heel turn will liven this feud up. Throwing Goodfather and Bull in the match won't change things much. Although it will be interesting to see how those two go with the high flying and fast action. My guess as that they will be the recipients of a lot of punishment in this match. I do see the heels escaping with a win in this one though.
Winners - RTC and Edge & Christian
Ivory (c) vs. Lita - Woman's Title
PK: Lita has worked hard to get that belt, but I think she'll have to work even harder to regain it.
Winner and still Champion - Ivory
Ender: Another one of the Feds favorite heel teams, RTC may not deserve to keep the belts as much as "Team Xtreme", but don't be surprised if they do give the belt to Lita.
Winner and new Champion - Lita
Widro: The whole idea of a heel champion is to have money in the face chasing the belt, so I see Ivory hanging onto the title here.
Winner and still Champion - Ivory
Murtz: Way to early for Ivory to lose here. Look for Val Venis to help her successfully retain.
Winner and still Champion - Ivory
Sean: Geh. Lita can at least do a few moves, so I'd rather see her with the belt. I'm guessing that she'll take out Sister Ivory in this time burner.
Winner and new Champion - Lita
Billy Gunn/Chyna/Road Dogg/K-Kwik vs. The Radicalz
PK: With a team the caliber of the Radz, one has to wonder if the faces have any chance. Although I'd like to see Gunn pull out a huge win, I don't think this glorified version of DX will do it.
Winners - The Radicalz
Ender: Another great Survivor Series match, I agree with PK and don't see much with the Pseudo-DX. The Radicalz are back together and Benoit is out to prove something.
Winners - Radicalz
Widro: This match is so one-sided in terms of actual wrestling talent. It's weird to see the Road Dog with his new and old tag partner. I would not be shocked to see Billy turn here.
Winners - Radicalz
Murtz: This will be a great match. While I am convinced that the Radicalz will come out with the win when all is said and done, I look for Kwik and Gunn to be the stars of this match, considering that they are both on the receiving end of some mighty big pushes as of late.
Winners - The Radicalz
Sean: K-Kwik looked sharp on Smackdown this Thursday. Road Dogg and Gunn both have a new look. In my opinion, Gunn is getting shafted a bit in his return. He should've fought Guerrero at No Mercy for the IC title but that didn't happen. Some of it's bad luck, but they could always reschedule that match for the next Raw. The Radicalz are quickly on the rise, and a loss here would really slow down their push. Look for Benoit to possibly be the sole survivor in this one.
Winners - The Radicalz
Chris Jericho vs. Kane
PK: This has to be one of the worst programs running. I don't care for either one of these superstars right now, and to be honest I don't see how the feud helps out either person. Let's flip the coin.
Winner - Chris Jericho
Ender: This is by far the stupidest feud in recent history. He spilled coffee and then asked Kane if he "burned him," so Kane's been on a rampage. Seem's like something that should be on GTV and not as a feud. This could be a great place for X-Pac and Kane to rejoin.
Winner - Kane
Widro: I think they will start having this face Jericho lose, and it will somehow lead to a push as a heel, so I'll go with Kane.
Winner - Kane
Murtz: I don't know, I don't care. I can believe they didn't even throw in a stipulation for this match. When in doubt, pick the face.
Winner - Chris Jericho
Sean: Neither one of these guys will benefit from a win here. I guess this match is NOT a no DQ match. Kind of hard for Kane to disfigure Jericho without getting disqualified in this one. Whether it's no DQ or not, I expect Kane to take this one.
Winner - Kane
The Rock vs. Rikishi
PK: Rock is obviously hurt, and it will take a lot of adrenaline out of him to pull the victory off. Rikishi is a few up on Rock, and after Smackdown, I doubt that Rock will pull it out.
Winner - Rikishi
Ender: The People's champ will win it for the people. Without a belt on the line, the Fed is smart with not letting one of their top faces drop a match, and I wouldn't be too surprised here. The only scenario following would be a SCSA/Rock vs. 'kishi/HHH at the next PPV.
Winner - Rock
Widro: Rikishi was so destroyed by Austin that he needs a win here. Rikishi wins in the upset.
Winner - Rikishi
Murtz: Reason Rock has looked bad on TV recently is because he will crush Rikishi on PPV. While it won't be total annihilation, like the Rikishi/Austin match last month, I am positive that the Rock will pull out a victory here. However, look for the big man to further injure him after the bell rings.
Winner - The Rock
Sean: The odds are stacked against The Rock in this matchup. However, Rock has revenge on his mind and it shouldn't make a difference. There could be a screwjob in this, maybe another wrestler to join HHH and Rikishi, but that's highly unlikely. Screwjob or not, look for Rock to get the win in this match.
Winner: The Rock
Kurt Angle (c) vs. The Undertaker - World Title
PK: Angle is riding high due to his big win on Smackdown. Taker is losing his ring talent week by week, and putting the World Title on him could be a setback. I say let Angle run with it for awhile, about as far as the Royal Rumble.
Winner and still Champion - Kurt Angle
Ender: UT is running out of steam, and the best thing he could do is help lift up young stars like Angle. Don't be surprised if UT jobs to Kurt here.
Winner and still Champion - Kurt Angle
Widro: There is no point in making the Undertaker the champ. Angle has looked so weak as champ that he will need a win here, especially after Taker pinned him on TV this week.
Winner and still Champion - Angle
Murtz: No sense putting the big title on the Undertaker right now. Angle will win, thanks to a returning Stephanie McMahon.
Winner and still Champion - Kurt Angle
Sean: Undertaker could use a title reign at this point in his career. However, Angle is on a roll and handling his WWF Champion status very well. We may see the return of Stephanie in this one. Look for Angle to somehow escape as champion in this match.
Winner and still Champion - Kurt Angle
Steve Austin vs. Triple H
PK: It's no secret that HHH is hurt. He will try his hardest, but will come up short. With both HHH and Austin both less then 100%, I sincerely question the decision of putting this match in the main event. HHH needs to take time off after this match, so look for Austin to put him out in some way.
Winner - Steve Austin
Ender: You don't cause the trophy boy to lose a major match, especially at a PPV. This will be a good match, but Austin will have to win, or else Wrestling will lose even more fans.
Winner - Stone Cold Steve Austin
Widro: I think that Austin will lose here. HHH just turned, and needs to be seen as a killer heel. In addition, Austin has looked super human since returning, and if he were to beat HHH, it would leave him no one to beat. I think we could see the Radicalz get involved on HHH's side.
Winner - Triple H
Murtz: This is a very interesting match which both men could conceivably win. However there are rumblings that something big could go down, and I wouldn't even be surprised to see an Austin swerve where he ends up aligning with HHH. That being said, I will pick Triple H to win here, simply because Austin could easily turn heel, and even if he doesn't, there are still a lot of HHH/Austin matches, before this feud blows over.
Winner - Triple H
Sean: A very hyped up match right here. "Austin's Revenge: Part Duex". Austin will again fight someone behind his attacking last November. I would hope that a new angle is developed from this, but it's not likely. Look for Austin to get the win here. This feud will continue for a while, whether Austin dominates or not. HHH may need to take a little time off after this match, but it shouldn't be for too long knowing The Game. It's possible that Steph could appear during this match too, possibly losing the match for HHH. Intentionally or accidentally would be the key there.
Winner - Steve Austin
