Rasslin' Roundtable 11.25.00: WCW Mayhem
Posted by PK on 11.25.2000

This week, we have Widro, PK, and Sean McCluskey to give their views on this weekend's WCW Mayhem.

3 Count vs. Jung Dragons vs. Evan Karagais & Jamie Knoble

PK: Looks to me that they want to push Karagais and Knoble, whether it be in singles or a team. These 6 men always put on good matches, look for more of the same here.
Winners - Karagais & Knoble

Widro: Well since Yang won the singles three way dance on Thunder, that rules out the Dragons. I'll also go with Evan and Jamie, who seem to be getting the push.
Winners - Karagais and Knoble

Sean: Should be a decent match here. If given enough time it could make for an exciting event. I'll go with the Jung Dragons here.
Winners - Jung Dragons

Crowbar (c) vs. Big Vito vs. Reno - Hardcore Title

PK: Crowbar finally fits in somewhere, and I'm hoping it stays that way. Vito and Reno may finally go one-on-one down the line, and a story will be between them, so there is no need for a belt to be on the line.
Winner and Still Champion - Crowbar

Widro: I also agree, the Vito/Reno feud doesn't need the title, whereas Crowbar does.
Winner and Still Champion - Crowbar

Sean: Crowbar is finally getting a push in WCW. This guy has definitely deserved it. I'd hate to see a new champ crowned here, Crowbar deserves to hold this title for a bit longer.
Winner and Still Champion - Crowbar

The Cat vs. Shane Douglas

PK: WCW seems hell bent on keeping one of their biggest talents (Franchise) down. Look for Ms. Jones and Torrie Wilson to get involved somehow, and look for the tainted win.
Winner - Shane Douglas

Widro: Cat seems to be losing a little status since losing the commissioners role, so I see him getting a win here at Mayhem.
Winner - Cat

Sean: I'm also smelling a screwjob in some way or another here. I think Douglas will come out on top of this one, cleanly or not.
Winner - Shane Douglas

Mike Sanders (c) vs. Kwee-Wee - Cruiserweight Title

PK: OK, don't get me wrong, Kwee-Wee has talent and ability, but to go along with that, he has a RETARDED gimmick. Sanders is doing so well right now, I don't see a reason for him to lose.
Winner and Still Champ - Mike Sanders

Widro: Kwee Wee is just horrible, I can't see him winning a title with this gimmick.
Winner and Still Champ - Mike Sanders

Sean: Not much to say about this one. I think Kwee Wee will take the strap in this one.
Winner and New Champion - Kwee Wee

Mike Awesome vs. Bam Bam Bigalow

PK: Awesome needs to find a permanent spot. He jumps between feuds so fast, it's hard to care about anything he does. BBB on the otherhand represents all the people who are lost in the shuffle. I guarantee that in a few months he'll be off TV, only to come back 4 months later. Kind of reminds me of Meng.
Winner - Mike Awesome

Widro: BBB's role in WCW for the past few years has been to get into matches based on his reputation and size, and then lose. I can't think of a big match he has won, he continues to put over younger talent.
Winner - Mike Awesome

Sean: I hope that Awesome will get his career in WCW turned around soon. This may be the starting grounds. Although it's good to see Bam Bam BigaOld back, I'm looking for Awesome to take this one.
Winner - Mike Awesome

Jeff Jarrett vs. Buff Bagwell

PK: The Chosen One seems a bit lost without a big program. He needs Sting, Booker, or maybe even Awesome to make him look good, but Buff won't cut it, nor will he win.
Winner - Jeff Jarrett

Widro: I disgaree, I think Jarrett is a great worker, and will have to carry Buff to a good match. I can't in good conscious pick Buff, my least favorite wrestler.
Winner - Jeff Jarrett

Sean: Jarrett should take this one and start gunning for the title again. Buff will probably start a new program after this, my guess is for the worse.
Winner - Jeff Jarrett

Lance Storm (c) vs. Gen. Rection - US/Canadian Title

PK: These 2 have put on a classic feud. Too many people have turned their back on Rection, one has to wonder who is next. Maybe the whole MIA? Storm leaves with the strap, so he can put on good matches with other underrated wrestlers for the title.
Winner and Still Champion - Lance Storm

Widro: It's been said that this is the "last match" between these two. That usually means that the face will come out on top, and I will pick Rection here. He needs to get his heat back from the Gunns turn and title loss.
Winner and New Champion - Rection

Sean: I've always liked Storm. I really don't like MIA. So, by default, I choose Storm in this potential 3-4 star match.
Winner and Still Champion - Lance Storm

The Perfect Event (c) vs. DDP & Kevin Nash - Tag Team Titles

PK: Something seems a little fishy about this. The Thrillers will no doubt be up to no good. I see Page and Nash winning match, but not the belts.
Winners, titles do not change hands - DDP & Kevin Nash

Widro: It's too predictable to give Nash and DDP the tag titles. The way they have promoted the tag titles is for younger guys to have them anyway, DDP and Nash seem to outclass the titles. Plus its too soon to have them come out on top over the Thrillers.
Winner and Still Champions - Perfect Event

Sean: This has been an interesting turn of events. DDP returning, now joining up with Nash. I think WCW will throw the straps on the established guys here, then some more controversy may brew up.
Winner and New Champions - Nash and DDP

Goldberg vs. Lex Lugar

PK: Is there any chance of Lugar winning?
Winner - Goldberg

Widro: No.
Winner - Goldberg

Sean: Goldberg's new streak is about as entertaining is a streak on my underwear. Probably squash city, Goldberg-style here.
Winner - Goldberg

Booker T (c) vs. Scott Stiener - World Title - Caged Heat/Straightjacket Match

PK: Booker has held the belt for the better part of 4 months, and Stiener has not held the belt yet. I think that time is now, and the Stiener will be able to carry the company on his back for a while. Another Goldberg/Stiener feud is bound to happen, this time it will be over the strap.
Winner and New Champion - Scott Stiener

Widro: It's amazing what the World Title has done for Booker T since July when he won it. He went from loser GI Bro to a credible champ and main eventer, and now its time for a new champ. Stiener has been doing a strange "heel chase" of the title, and will get it and begin a reign of terror on WCW.
Winner and New Champion - Scott Stiener

Sean: I look for Steiner to win the strap here. He is overdue for this chance, and WCW should give him a run with the title and see how he does. It did wonders for Booker. Is Steiner going to start doing the Pedigree once he is champ???
Winner and New Champion - Scott Steiner
