1887 - A Japanese promoter signs 20 American wrestlers to appear in Tokyo. It sells out on the first day, but not after.
The promoter does not sign for a second tour.
1910 - In the first fall of a best-of-three-falls match, World Champion Frank Gotch beats Stanislaus Zbyszko in 6.4
seconds. Gotch also wins the second fall to retain his title.
1948 - Sandor Szabo wins the NWA (Minneapolis) World championship from Bronko Nagurski in Minneapolis, MN.
" - Green Shadow beats Herb Welch in Nashville, TN, for the Tennessee version of the World Junior Heavyweight
title.
1956 - Buddy Rogers wins the NWA Texas title from Pepper Gomez in Houston, TX.

MI.
2002 - In Woonsocket, RI, Kappa Tegga Kegga beat Deuce Malone and Steve Sabo for the NWA New England Tag
Team titles. On the same card, Kid Narcissistic wins the NWA New England Junior Heavyweight title from Jason
Rumble.
" - Jason Cross wins the NWA Georgia title from David Young in Cornelia, GA.

in Seattle, WA.
1983 - Hulk Hogan beat Antonio Inoki in Tokyo to win a ten-man tournament to win the first IWGP Heavyweight title. On
the same card, Tiger Mask beats Kuniaki Kobayashi for the NWA World Junior Heavyweight title.
" - Harley Race wins the NWA Central States title in Kansas City, MO, by beating Dewey Robertson. After Race wins
the NWA World title eight days later, the Central States title is declared vacant.
1986 - Buddy Landell beats Bill Dundee to win the AWA Southern title in Memphis, TN.

1990 - El Dandy wins the NWA World Middleweight title in Mexico City from Angel Azteca.

in Purchase, NY.
1943 - The British Empire/Commonwealth Heavyweight title is held up after a match in Toronto, ON, between champion
Whipper Billy Watson and Yvon Robert, when Robert wins by disqualification.
1948 - Whipper Billy Watson wins the British Empire/Commonwealth Heavyweight title for the sixth time when he beats
Nanjo Singh in Toronto, ON.
1950 - Billy Goelz wins the Midwest Junior Heavyweight title from Johnny Balbo in Chicago, IL.

1981 - Kerry Von Erich wins the World Class Texas American title in New Orleans, LA, by beating Ernie Ladd.
1986 - Kerry Von Erich is severely injured in a traffic accident in Argyle, TX, when his motorcycle hits a police car.
Von Erich suffers a dislocated hip and damage to his right knee and ankle. His right foot is later amputated, but he continues wrestling on a prosthetic foot, saying his ankle had been "fused together."
1999 - Team Extreme beat Moody’s Mob for the NWA Texas Tag Team titles in North Richland Hills, TX.
2000 - One night after losing the IWA Junior Heavyweight title to Andres Borges, Israel Feliciano regains the title in
Catano, PR.
2002 - Chuck Palumbo and Billy Gunn beat Rico and Rikishi to win the WWE Tag Team titles in Oklahoma City, OK.

1998 - Masa Chono and Hiroyoshi Tenzan beat Shiro Koshinaka and Genichiro Tenryu in a tournament final in

1997 - Raven loses a "loser leaves ECW" match to Tommy Dreamer in Philadelphia, PA, marking the first time
Dreamer had officially pinned Raven.
1999 - Rena (Sable) Mero files a $110 million lawsuit against the WWF for negligence, breach of contract, unfair
trade practices, and emotional distress.

1932 - Ray Steele becomes the first California State champion by beating Vic Christy in Los Angeles.
1949 - In Vancouver, BC, Jack McLaughlin beats Frank Stojack for the Pacific Coast Junior Heavyweight title.
1952 - Lucky Simunovich and Bobby Bruns are awarded the NWA Hawaii Tag Team titles as the first champions.

CA. Mantell defended the title for champion Buddy Rose, who refused to wrestle.
" - Ole Anderson and Ivan Koloff beat Tommy Rich and Wahoo McDaniel for the NWA Georgia Tag Team titles in
Atlanta, GA.
1980 - Baron Von Raschke wins the NWA Georgia title from Austin Idol, Ole and Lars Anderson win the NWA Georgia
Tag Team title from Ivan Koloff and Alexis Smirnoff, and Kevin Sullivan wins the NWA Georgia Junior Heavyweight title by beating Eddie Mansfield in a tournament final, all in Atlanta, GA.
1981 - Rip Oliver and The Destroyer beat Buzz and Brett Sawyer for the NWA Pacific Northwest Tag Team titles.

titles. Later this month, the titles are once again vacant when The Warlord goes to Japan and Kovac is fired from the promotion.

Tag team champions Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard by disqualification.
