411 TNA Impact Ranking 12.23.13

December 23, 2013 | Posted by Dan Wojcik

Welcome to the 411 TNA Impact Rankings! I am still Dan Wojcik and I am coming to you from a semi-undisclosed location somewhere inside the heart of Iowa. There are many different ranking systems out there. The WWE Power rankings. The Wrestler of the Week rankings. And whatever other ranking systems you may want to find. This is the TNA Impact Ranking though, were I get to rank the current movers and shakers in TNA. This column is similar to the MP Schroeder’s WWE RPI Rankings. I want to have some fun with this. Due to technical difficulties, the Rankings did not go up last week and I apologize for that. Last week’s listing would have been as follows…

My Criteria Base:

  • Wins and Losses
  • Momentum
  • Overall Strength of Booking
  • Only TV and PPV Count Towards This (One Night Only PPV’s are NOT included)
  • If You Hold a Title, Your Chances of Appearing Are Good, but not Guaranteed!

RANKINGS1. Magnus: After months of having this drawn out, Magnus managed to defeat Jeff Hardy in a Dixieland Match to win the vacant TNA World Title! If winning the World Title doesn’t merit the number one spot, I don’t know what does.

RANKINGS2. Bobby Roode: Bobby Roode participated in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match with Kurt Angle this week; the second of three matches that actually happened on Impact! Needless to say, Roode defeated the Olympic Gold Medalist and sent him packing to Cryersville, population 2. Kurt Angle and his gold medal.

RANKINGS3. Gunner: Gunner opened his Feast or Fired briefcase to reveal a World Title shot! Sure he had to step on his tag team partner to get it, but he would have done the same to him right?

RANKINGSRANKINGS4. ODB and Madison Rayne: ODB and Madison managed to knock off the Knockout’s Champion and her body guard this week in one of three matches on Impact wrestling For this featured feat, they have earned the number four spot this week.

RANKINGS5. Zema Ion: DJ Zema Ion opened his Feast or Fired Briefcase to reveal an X-Division Championship match! For the booking potential of an Aries/Ion match, Zema gets the number 5 spot!

RANKINGS6. Ethan Carter III: EC3 entered the Feast or Fired match last week and walked away with a briefcase. This week he opened it to find a Tag Team Title shot inside! Good news for him, he’s still employed! Bad news for him, he needs to find a partner who doesn’t hate him.

RANKINGS7. Joseph Park: This past week, Park came on out, in spite of the evidence and insisted that he is only Joseph Park. EY tried to use logic with him and eventually got Park to agree to a Monster’s Ball match for next week after breaking out some of Abyss’ favorite things.

RANKINGS8. Sting: The Icon is still lingering about looking for anything to do, since the Aces and Eights have been disbanded. For the second week in a row, he has inserted himself into a segment with EC3. Let’s see where it goes.

RANKINGS9. Rockstar Spud: Rockstar Spud apologized for not regaining the title belt from AJ Styles last week and then had the task of getting a new belt made in time for the Impact Final Resolution show on Nov. 19th. Somehow (wink, wink) Spud managed to get a belt manufactured in time for the event to be hung high above the ring for the Dixieland Match.

RANKINGS10. James Storm: While he did not wrestle this week, Storms continued friction between himself and Gunner have been building week after week. Given that Gunner used him as a stepping stool to get the Briefcase which revealed a World Title Shot within, Storms continued presence has gotten him to were he is.

  • Those stuck in Limbo looking in include: Samoa Joe, Chris Sabin, Mr. Anderson, Velvet Sky, Bad Influence and Kurt Angle
  • Your Curtain Jerker of the Week is…

RANKINGS Knux: On November 12, Chavo Guerrero managed to capture one of the four briefcases in the Feast or Fired match on Impact Wrestling. This past wee on the 19th, he opened his briefcase to reveal that he has been fired. Chavo gets to join the ranks of others who have been ousted from TNA in this match, such as Curry Man, Shiek Abdul Bashir and Christopher Daniels. Therefore Chavo Guerrero is the TNA of Curtain Jerker!

  • And that is the list for this week!
