411 TNA Impact Ranking 2.2.2014

Welcome to the 411 TNA Impact Rankings! I am still Dan Wojcik and I am coming to you from a semi-undisclosed location somewhere inside the heart of Iowa. There are many different ranking systems out there. The WWE Power rankings. The Wrestler of the Week rankings. And whatever other ranking systems you may want to find. This is the TNA Impact Ranking though, were I get to rank the current movers and shakers in TNA. This column is similar to the MP Schroeder’s WWE RPI Rankings. I want to have some fun with this…

My Criteria Base:

  • Wins and Losses
  • Momentum
  • Overall Strength of Booking
  • Only TV and PPV Count Towards This (One Night Only PPV’s are NOT included)
  • If You Hold a Title, Your Chances of Appearing Are Good, but not Guaranteed!

RANKINGS1. Samoa Joe: This past week Samoa Joe put his contract on the line in a tag team match against the TNA World Champion Magnus and EC3. With Kurt Angle at his side, the Samoan Submission Machine managed to make Magnus tap out, thus earning himself a title shot at Lockdown!

RANKINGSRANKINGS2. Bromans: Robbie E. and Jessie G went up against the unlikely team of Abyss and Eric Young this past week on Impact. While they may not have dominated the match, they did get the victory by disqualification when Abyss decided to attack the ref. So the TNA Tag Champs stay high on the LIST.

RANKINGS3. Gunner: Gunner managed to score the win in his tag team match this past week , where his world title shot briefcase was on the line. World is that next week, Gunner will finally be able to cash in his briefcase for a shot at the World Title. Let’s see how it plays out.

RANKINGSRANKINGS4. Kurt Angle and James Storm: This past week on Impact, Angle helped to lead Samoa Joe to victory and to a number one contender ship at Lockdown. In the same token, James Storm assisted Gunner in securing the victory in their tag team match so that he could retain this title shot for the TNA World Title..

RANKINGSRANKINGS5. Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne: This past week, it was a temporary reunion of the Beautiful People, as Rayner and Sky went up against Kin and Tapa in a Tag team match. In the end though, it would be the assisting spear from Rayne, which would allow Sky to pull off her finisher and get the pin fall victory for their team.

RANKINGS6. Magnus: The TNA Champion challenged Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle to a Retirement Match this past week on Impact. Joe and Angle countered with a title shot at Lockdown, which Magnus agreed to. Needless to say, Magnus lost the tag match, but helped to set up the main event for Lockdown!

RANKINGS7. Bobby Roode: Bobby Roode was assaulted by Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle this past week. Enough was enough for the former champion. He went to Dixie Carter and demanded his due reward on a World Titel shot. Dixie balked on the agreement and Roode gave her one week to think about it. Until then, no more favors from him.

    RANKINGS
RANKINGS8. The Wolves: As promised, the Wolves delivered on the identity of the new investor this past week. However, Rockstar Spud attempted to get them to spill the beans early, and went received an Alarm Clock from the Wolves for his efforts. At the end of the show, the Wolves came with the investor a pace behind them..

RANKINGS9. Bully Ray and Mr. Anderson:Bully ray continued his attack against Mr Anderson this past week on Impact. He brought out a coffin and informed us that he planned on putting Anderson in the coffin. When confronted by Anderson, Bully Ray said that he would Piledrive his wife and kids if given the opportunity. Needless to say, Anderson hit Bully with the coffin lid and laid in an assault on the former World Champion, until Bully was able to make his retreat.

RANKINGS10. Zema Ion: He’s not just a pretty face, he’s the reason that the team of Eric Young and Abyss got disqualified this past week on Impact and lost their Tag Team Title match. He is DJ Zema Ion. As Ion climbed the top ropes and Abyss went to kill him, the ref started the count. Abyss took issue with the counting and delivered a shock treatment to the ref to cause the DQ. Given that he still has his feast or fired briefcase for a shot at the X-Division Title, Ion has managed to grab the number 10 spot this week.

  • That’s it folks!
  • Those stuck in Limbo looking in include: Samuel Shaw, Chris Sabin, EY, Abyss, ODB, Gail Kim, Lei’d Tapa, EC3 and Spud.
  • Your Scape Goats of the Week are…

RANKINGSRANKINGS Bad Influence: This week Daniels and Kazarian got Gunner to put up his World Title shot in the briefcase against them in a tag team match. Regrettably, the best tag team in the bee-iz-ness lost to Gunner and Storm. As a result of this continued losing streak, Daniels and Kazarian are my Scapegoats of the week.

  • And that is the list for this week!
