Ring Architect 6.10.14: Video Wall

June 10, 2014 | Posted by Obi Justice

This will, unfortunately, be the last Ring Architect for the foreseeable future. My time’s being eaten up and something had to give. I decided to end with a few videos and some short comments. Hopefully you all enjoyed the run. Thanks for reading.

Likely a fairly well-known match on the net but one that bears watching. Very crisp match between two of the best workmen the WWF has ever had.

A very fun promo from Paul London (and Bryan Danielson). This shows off one of the weird things about indy wrestling: a lot of times it’s not about making the story or the match must-see, it’s about getting people geared up about you personally.

One of the best women’s matches I’ve ever seen. If all you’ve seen of American women’s wrestling is the sloppy stuff from WWE, you should watch this out for some hard-hitting and well-sold action.

Jay Briscoe is one of the best promos in wrestling today. Not the wide-ranging verbiage of a WWE promo but it’s got fire, which pretty much all WWE promos lack. Even the “angry” ones feel more like play-acting than statements of intent.

Everybody should get acquainted with “Dr. Death” Steve Williams. One of the best heavyweight guys ever just in-ring style wise. Hansen had a more illustrious career and guys like the Undertaker might be better on some measurables, but Williams is the total no-nonsense bruiser from hell.

I’m writing about politics, philosophy, and history at bloctheory.com and I’m on twitter at @datsupahero. Much thanks to my friend Jen for the Ring Architect logo, and you can also find Jen on tumblr.
