NWA Tri-State - Parkersburg, WV, January 7, 2006
Posted by Ron Gamble on 01.08.2006

Results from NWA Tri-State show at the Parkersburg City Park Pavilion in Parkersburg, WV, from January 7, 2006:

Former NWA Tri-State champion Johnny Lightning beat Smokin' C with a Northern Lights suplex.

The Master Plan, Billy and Brian, beat West Virginia Open champion J. W. Idol and DJ. Master Plan hit DJ with a double Flapjack, followed by a big splash from the top rope by Brian.

After the match, Idol attacked DJ. While complaining to promoter Richard Arpin, DJ picked up the WV Open belt and hit Idol. Idol was joined by El Fandango in the attack, when Arpin jumped in the ring and threw Idol and Fandango both out of the ring. After a showdown, Arpin challenged Idol to a match.

"Enforcer of Pain" El Fandango defeated "The Thrillbilly" JT Hogg. While the referee was tangled up with Hogg and Fandango's manager (I missed her name), Fandango grabbed Hogg's horseshoe, hit him in the back of the head, and got the pin. Afterwards, Hogg recovered, threw Fandango out of the ring, then hit Fandango's manager.

Chance Prophet and "The Irish State Champ" Cole Cash went to a double countout. After the match, the two beat each other around the building.

Zac Vincent beat "Omega" Aaron Drabin with a Spanish Fly.

In the main event, The Ridaz, JD Escalade and Juggulator, beat The Extremely Gifted Ones, Chris Kahn and Vance Desmond. Kahn and Desmond held the tag titles, Kahn was Tri-State Heavyweight champion, and Desmond was Tri-State X-Division champion. Senior referee Tony Wolfe was being carried to the back while action continued. After Juggulator hit Desmond and went for a pin, another man, who was a "Referee in Training," took off his jacket to show his referee shirt, jumped in the ring, and counted the pinfall. Because of stipulations, Escalade and Juggulator are the new tag champs. After an exciting game of "rock-paper-scissors," it was decided that Escalade is the new Heavyweight champion, and Juggz is the new X champion.

The final match was a tag team battle royal. Before the match, Chance Prophet, Cole Cash, and Smokin C all had no partners. After picking other people to be their partners, including the announcer and the guy playing the entrance music, Richard Arpin decided that Prophet and Cash would be partners, and he would team with Smokin C.

Order of elimination: Simon Sinclair (and DJ), Vance Desmond (and Chris Kahn), El Fandango (and J. W. Idol, who stayed in the ring for awhile), JT Hogg (and Johnny Lightning), Smokin C (and Richard Arpin), The Master Plan (Billy thrown out, who hit the ring apron, the ringside table, a chair, and the ringside steps on the way out), Cole Cash (and Chance Prophet, who clotheslined Cash out of the ring). Your winners, if you've been paying attention, are Omega and Zac Vincent. For winning the match, Omega and Vincent win a match with JD Escalade and Juggulator next month for all four titles.

It was a good show, but not great. The second half was much better than the first, but that's the way it should be, after all.

BEST MATCHES
1. Zac Vincent vs. Omega
2. Chance Prophet vs. Cole Cash
3. Juggz and Escalade vs. Desmond and Kahn

About 200 people showed up for the show.
