My Take On 01.09.06: Arrogance Diminishes Wisdom

Especially in McMahon Land.
Yes kids I am back again. I had written a My Take On that I wanted to post, but things happen and they get pushed off. Don't worry, that will be running tomorrow. And relax, this isn't designed to be some shit storm on the "product" itself, no, this is actually much more important than that. Sit back, relax and have fun.
Arrogance breeds stupidity…
By default wrestling is a business that breeds arrogance; and in return arrogance breeds stupidity. Over the last months the WWE has been a prime example of this. Let's go back to Kane's injury. Kane suffers a back injury in a match with the Big Show, a small fracture that will heal with a month or so of rest. The "Net" finds out about it and reports it as we do. Then WWE.com releases a statement that says something to the fact of, "The indestructible monster Kane will be on Raw this week. He has not suffered any injury and any reports of that are obviously wrong." In Vince's paranoia he gets mad at the "net" and basically asked Kane if he could go. Kane, not wanting to "lose his spot" agrees. First off that dude will never lose his spot, he is in the same spot forever and always will be. So basically, and this isn't hard to figure out, they forced Kane to wrestle and risk further injury. That is arrogance.
Next we had this little tid bit: November 9, 2005
World Heavyweight Champion Batista injured his back at the SmackDown television taping Tuesday night in Indianapolis.
Earlier today, Batista traveled to Birmingham, Ala., to be seen by Dr. James Andrews. While meeting with Dr. Andrews, The Animal was informed that he had a decision to make concerning the treatment of the injury. He could either rehab his back, or opt for surgery. If he decides to go with the surgery, Batista could be out of action for as much as three months.
Torn Lat. A man that has a history of torn triceps has now suffered a major injury to his lat. I know he was the champion, but there are times where you need to think, "what is best for me in the long run? I may want to play with my kids one day." So Big Dave picks rehab and no surgery. He should have had surgery because he obviously had nothing to worry about. He said in an interview, "The only people afraid of losing their spot must not be that good in the first place."
But he carries on. Do they give him a lot of face time and keep him from the ring? Nope. They have him back bumping, taking chokeslams on cars, tables and other shit from Show and Kane! This man has a major injury and since he decided to work through it they figured, business as usual. So now, your World Champion is hurt, major injury so what do you do folks, what do you do?
Put him in a feud with Mark Henry of course! Because we all know that Mark Henry is light and a safe worker. They have Batista start to work Henry, supposedly leading to a match. But wait, there's bad news:
January 9th, 2006
Sunday night at a SmackDown live event, World Heavyweight Champion Batista injured his triceps in a match against Mark Henry.
The extent of the injury is undetermined at this point. WWE.com will have more information on Batista's injury later today.
Yes, good job WWE. Now kids, this has the potential to end Batista's career. Batista has suffered at least two torn triceps earlier in his career, back to back in fact as he was recovering from the one and is still recuperating from the torn lat. Back when he had the two torn triceps, he had been told that another tear could cause the end of his career. Ask Del Welks kids, he knows all about that.
My Take On…
The real lack of WWE drug policy is showing. Granted there are some bodies changing on TV, Gene Snitsky for fact. He looks like a pile of shit. Anyway, it is obvious that the dog ate the drug policy, and that's the shame. I garuntee that Big Dave is taking some massive amounts of painkillers just to get through the pain of that torn lat. Where is the drug policy? When will the release the details? They haven't. I guess the joke's on me for actually thinking that they would go through with this. Silly me figured that after Eddie died, that they would really do this. Right now it looks like they aren't, and that's a shame. Why? Because someone like Dave Batista could be in a lot of trouble, from his own stupidity and the WWE's own arrogance. We can only hope a voice of reason will make it's way through to these people, it's for their own good.
