Not a cheap imitation or washed up hack, this is the real deal my friends
Welcome one and all to the show that never ends, Csonkamania! I am your host, the hardest working man in the IWC, Larry Csonka! First, a letter from me to JD.
Dear JD, is that is YOUR real name…
I am of course part of the "elite media;" elite meaning better than everyone. Back off my turf fool!
Yours in hatred,
Larry
Boman thinks I like him; Randle steals my gimmick again and some washed up hack thinks he is better than mw…what a week. Quit riding my wave fuckers! You see when they want to get over they go after the big dog. That's all in good fun though, but not everything is. You guys know me pretty well I think. When you kind readers send me an email, I answer them all, either in a column or personally. 99% of the time, even if we disagree, you are kind and polite and I appreciate that. And then I get the assholes that think that they are cool and try to bash me; they need dealt with.
O FN RLY?
Joe Bistone sent this email called, "An Honest Opinion." Well, once again it is someone trying to be a hard ass with me, so I'll give him a little "Stage" here, or as I like to call it, "enough rope to hang himself."
I see the articles you've written, and your TNA bias is so obvious and blatant. No one wants to see brock fight samoa joe, or chris jericho fight samoa joe, or chris daniels fight samoa joe, or sonjay fight samoa joe, or for that matter see samoa joe wrestle at all.
Oh for the love of God, here we go again with the TNA bias shit. I love you guys, I can never make you happy. I give a fair assessment to the last PPV, and the TNA clones say I bashed it. I do a "worst PPV matches column" for TNA and the TNA clones hate me, and you go off with this little tirade. Hey asshole, do you know what a shift key is by the way? There are people that want to see those matches, just because you don't doesn't mean that you are right. And Joe can't be that bad if people in Japan and veterans like Sting and many other put him over.
You guys put over his matches like he's the greatest thing since sliced bread, you give him all the awards you make up, all for a guy who should not be in wrestling period. SERIOUSLY imagine chris benoit, not as good, and with a huge gut hanging over the front of his tights, does he look like a wrestler?
Let's see, I gave him some of my PERSONAL TNA awards. Yes, I am a bad man. Wait until the staff awards come out, you'll be happy since the E runs away with stuff. And why are you so caught up with his body, you have emailed before and are OBSESSED with his body. Are you gay? It's ok if you are and like to wank it to jacked up juice monkey.
And to be honest the match this past week on raw between edge and ric flair destroyed EVERY match TNA had in the last year (2005).
That's your opinion. It's a wrong opinion, but that's why it is yours.
I don't know why you guys put over TNA like crazy, maybe you want more competition, but their matches aren't really that good, and whatever lens you are looking through you need to stop looking because the quality of matches in TNA matches their quality of talent.
What the hell is this "you guys" shit now? First it was just me, and now it is "you guys?" I primarily write on TNA because no one else does on a regular basis. And yes, TNA matches match their talent, which is pretty fucking good if you could unbrainwash yourself.
TNA isn't the number one organization and that is for a good reason, they dont' have the best guys and SAMOA Joe clearly isn't as GREAT as you claim him to be. Your comparisons of him to tazz are way off because tazz didn't go around acting like rikishi meets bret hart.
Blah, blah, blah you hate Joe, I get it. And his comparisons to Tazz are DEAD on in that he is a machine. Just because you can't see it doesn't mean others don't.
He's not tv friendly, and if this was 1997 Joe would be out on the street trying to become a lawyer or something else other than a pro wrestler. Vince McMahon isn't a smart guy nowadays, but he does know what works and what doesn't, and having a lard ass like joe come out fresh from sitting on his couch watchin tv for five hours and frequently beat guys who just came from the gym isn't good wrestling, not to say anything about being good tv.
So how the hell did the Samoan Swat Team/Head Shrinkers have jobs dude? Big Show is a fat fuck, but I think he's entertaining. Seriously, you are what is wrong with wrestling these days, so fucking caught up on appearances. Why don't you just go and stick a needle is someone's ass to help out there brother? I hear Chris Masters needs an oil boy.
Just because the idiot fans in the Impact Zone want to make TNA out to be some kindof hybrid of WCW and ECW, by chanting "this is awesome" when it clearly isn't, "TNA" when something craptacular happens, and "Joe got screwed" when UNBAISED wrestling fans voted for the right guy, doesn't make it so. The average wrestling fan KNOWS the difference when watching this show side to side with WWE or even the old ECW hardcore TV show. TNA isn't just second rate, its thrid rate at best, and trying to cover that up because YOU smart alecks think that competition is gonna change wrestling is totally absurd.
Wait, so now the fans are the evil ones. Because they have opinions? Maybe you need to talk to Kent, he loves when people complain about the crowd "reacting wrong."
You want to change wrestling? you don't like the current WWE product I got two words for you, VIDEO TAPE. Tape the show so you don't have to watch it and give Vinny Mac ratings up the butt when he decides to have "live sex on RAW". The real reason why things don't change is because every week the internet crowd keeps tuning in.
Fuck you. If I video tape shit, or stop watching like others have done they win. You see, you may not give two shits, but I write to analyze shit, to point the flaws out and to change stuff. Also, TIVO counts towards ratings now genius. So I will continue to watch, critique, bitch, praise or what not all I wish.
If you don't like the product the easiest way to change it is to stop buying it. Stop watching Raw, and Smackdown, and Impact if you don't have a life and are sitting in your mom's house at 11 at night on saturday with nothing to do. Maybe then Vince will realize he can't just put ANYTHING on TV and expect fans to watch it. Maybe then wrestling fans will have to stop lowering the bar in terms of what they expect out of wrestling.
OH NOES! I LIVE IN TEH BASEMENT!!11!!! Listen up you stupid mother-fucker, I am married, have a child and work 2-jobs. Being that I have a child, that promises that I have done something you haven't, gotten some pussy. You think you are so fucking smart, you should have know this. So nice insult. And the WWE lowered their own bar, TNA is raising theirs with their match quality. But since everyone isn't a jackedup juice monkey that you can't choke your chicken to, you are frustrated.
But until then don't expect things to change. The worst thing that could happen in wrestling is that TNA becomes competition for WWE. With TNA's style of wrestling and WWE's style, the eventual combination of both styles to "give the fans what they want" is going to fail since fans didn't really like TNA anyway and just cheered it on because there was "no competition". So what's the point of cheering TNA on when they can't give the fans what they really want? I see their matches, promos, and tv show, and you know what its junk.
Yes, of course NO ONE likes TNA at all. Since you said it, you must be correct. For fucks sake, why do we watch
If you want to live in denial about TNA go right ahead, but at least be honest about it so i can stop reading your columns.
And if you want to continue to act like a fucking jack ass, go right ahead. See if you would have been polite and sent in a constructive email, it would have been cool. But no, you have email me with all kinds of attitude and bass in your voice. You know what, don't read my columns, I sure as fuck don't need the hit numbers or asinine emails from fuck wads like you. You act like I only love TNA and shit on the E. Well, your wrong as usual dude. I think the WWE COULD be the best company in the world, but they make too many stupid ass mistakes. I call them out on it because no one else wants to. There are people like you that would suck Vince's dick if he dipped it in the dirt first because you accept anything he gives you. If that's the wrestling world you want to live in, go right ahead. Go back to doing what you do, pissing people off and all you sack of shit. Fuck you very much.
That dude sucked didn't he? You know what rules though? The 411 Wrestling Hall of Fame! Go check it out everyone, and send the writers some feedback!
Raw-Liners!:
Masters and Flair for Mystery partners, seems simple to me after last week's events.
VIVA COACH for representing the Steelers!
Ok, that opening video for Edge fucking rocked my face; that was good shit.
Haha, Lita has been downing too many beef sticks.
Transitional Champion…that's a shoot brother!
Spinning hydraulic bed? Sweet.
Magical redheaded ho…glorious.
Dear God, Cena is cracking me up.
Kane found his belt!
Poor Carlito, bitch duty again so far.
Carlito with the Lung Blower and a little slingshot action!
Sweet, no jobbing for Carlito.
Edge is such an ass, I like it. I will laugh if Lita comes out walking funny.
Ah, the Carolina Panthers. They need something to do.
Trish and Crazy Micky!
Coach rules.
Royal Rumble announcement?
Oy…at least it should be some comedy.
Challenge him Lawler! HAHA! Coach had dibs, is that like calling shotgun?
Victoria and Candice, or, yummy.
Trish as well.
This match is going to shit already.
That was brutal, between Ashley looking like she is wrestling under water, Candace's "trying" and Trish and Victoria having off nights, just damn.
GO CRAZY MICKY GO!
MAMMA! Oh no, she is breaking locker room etiquette…she didn't read my latest take on!
He was the man that eats T-bone steaks and lift bar bell plates and is sweeter than a German chocolate cake. Known as the reflection of perfection and the #1 selection. The women's pet, every man's regret, what you see is what you get and what you don't see is better yet. The man of the hour, the one with all the power, too sweet to be sour and believe me baby he's bad to the bone…the SUPERSTAR BILLY GRAHAM BITCHES!
That spot was BANANAS!!!!!
Shitty ending aside, that match rocked.
OH FUCK! SPIRIT SQUAD~! Oh these poor bastards.
Oh shit, Coach won too. This is so, so bad. Coach can beat Lawler but Helms can't.
And the job squad is in the ring.
Wait, weren't all the spots for the Rumble filled they said?
HHH angry, HHH win Rumble, HHH make stars, HHH bury Edge, HHH make babies…HHH rules.
Please let it not be Snitsky!
Ok, cool I picked Masters.
Wooooooooo!
Joey Styles said Ric Flair has had a Hall of Fame career, obviously Joey read about this on 411 with our new HALL OF FAME!
CHOP BLOCK OF DOOM!
Edge totally dicked Masters hahahaha!
Guest Raw-Liners from Jordan Williams!
Oh God

Something of substance coming OUT of her mouth!
Wow, I wonder if Carlito will win cleanly tonight.
Vader and Goldust are the mystery partners. I guarantee it
Does that whole "Irish Whip into the ropes then duck in hope of doing a backdrop" EVER work?
Wow, Carlito no-sold that chair shot.
Wow, Kane did his usual sell of chair shots.
PIMPS UP....HOS DOWN.
Mickey fuckin' rules with facial expressions.
Is that Stone Cold's shadow they are using for the Mystery Partner?
WOW. I so didn't see that coming. I mean, someone who can't work taking the joke spot in the Rumble. NO EFFIN WAY.
SKINHEAD!
This match is going to be a 7 star classic.
Anyone else see the obvious wrestling gear under Lawler's coat?
Styles is a friggin clown. Wagging his tie like an idiot.
I love how the Evil vs. Good girls color coordinate their wardrobe. I also love how Mickey has stopped matching with Trish, but not with Victoria. Shows she is 'conflicted'
THAT was a pretty sweet move there. Candace is actually impressing me. Torrie has now been demoted to "Useless".
Ashley's boobs are two separate entity's. I swear.
MAMA!
CONTINUITY!
Best. Botch. Ever.
If WWE fires Shelton, TNA will orgasm.
WATER BOTTLE ATTACK!
I hate roll-up finishes.
Vince looks unnatural here.
(Start of Coach vs. King)
W...T...F?
(3 minutes into match)
W...T....F?
(end of match)
W...T...F!?
There's so...many of them!
Time to eat some jobbers!
Cade looks huge compared to Conway and Helms.
Edge should've taken the BJ. I am sure his wang has grown immune to Lita's virii. It has evolved. So sayteh Darwin.
Wow. Masterpeice. I hope my text properly shows my surprise.
Jissy is right, Cena does walk like a toddler.
Flair must be made of Cher and Michael Jackson pieces. It's the only logical exception to why he is indestructible.
What is that belt Flair has?
It might just be me, but I think Cena got the crowd back.
Cena did a Prototype pose! CONTINUITY!?
WWE news, notes and happenings:
Your News from the Wrestling Observer (My Views in bold):
More on Juvi's release: Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero had been trying really hard to save Juvi from the axe, but Juvi just wouldn't listen. Guerrero yelled at Juvi just before his death, telling Juvi that instead of pitching angles to creative himself, which made it look like he was burying Crazy and Nicho, he could have come to Eddie, and Eddie would've pitched the ideas. That way there wouldn't be any heat on Juvi. After the match at Armageddon, Kash and Juvi had words, and Ricky Steamboat had to separate the two and make them shake hands.
Juvi now claims that his work VISA expired, and that he is welcomed back to the WWE at any time.
Juvi is just a sad case. A man that had so much talent and he seemed to just piss it away. At one time he was regarded as having much more potential than Rey Jr. The idea of him pitching a mask vs. mask match is just silly considering that he has never worn a mask in the WWE. It seemed as if Eddie and Rey tried to take care of him, but Juvi was just Juvi. I hope that Crazy and Psicosis get a fair shake, because they are damn fun to watch.
Johnny Ace is really getting a lot of heat with the locker room. He's the one who brought in Juvi and Vito (Who may be canned soon for taking liberties with enhancement talent), and just rubbing people the wrong way. Ace was told that both would be problems, but hired them anyway to try and prove a point. Now Ace is telling people he hired Juvi on Misterio's word, but according to Dave Meltzer, Rey and Juvi have had bad blood for a while now, and Rey only suggested Crazy and Nicho to Ace.
Vito's a douche. Juvi is Juvi. Ace should have known better. It is also shitty that he tried to push it off on Rey. He needs to take blame for his mistakes.
Down in OVW, Shelly Martinez received her special training in the form of a boob job.
You shouldn't be surprised.
Jillian Hall is possibly on the way out of the company, to be replaced by Angel Williams.
That's a shame. They are probably mad that her mole didn't'' get over.
Austin and the WWE are having strained relations due to the latest creative breakdown.
I would be pissed if they wanted me to job to Coach as well.
They have no idea what to offer Hogan right now, as Hogan is set on certain feuds and he and the WWE are at a stand still. The WWE even proposed a "Legends" match of Hogan vs. Greg Valentine at WM. Hogan has it in his contract, that no matter where he wrestles on the card, he receives the most money of all the workers. That means he could work the opening match and still be paid the most money. Hogan said he doesn't want to be like Flair and lower his value by appearing vs. "mid-carders." Cena, Angle or Big Show are still his 3 choices since Austin seems to be out.
Wow…that went down hill huh? And he gets paid the most no matter what? Can I have the number of his agent?
Your News: More details have become available on the release of John Heidenreich. He apparently checked himself into a hospital a few weeks back due to an ear infection and when WWE finally came to get him, assuming he was fine by then, he told them he could no longer handle being on the road and flew himself home.
Word backstage is that Heidenreich was dealing with some family issues and WWE may have released him so that he could be free to take care of those things and could possibly return in the future.
Animal is now expected to be repackaged as a singles wrestler.
My Views: Well that sucks for Heidenreich. I won't say that I was a fan of his, because I wasn't. He RARELY entertained me, and I hated the LOD 2k5/6 remake. I hope he is happy now, and that any family issued he has get solved as soon as possible.
BTW, there is about NO WAY that Animal can work singles. The reason that he hasn't so far is because of his Lloyds of London settlement that almost ended his career. Under the terms of his settlement, he can only work in tag team or multi-man matches. I highly see a singles run in his future.
Your News: Matt Cappotelli was at OVW TV this week; he is scheduled for a biopsy on his brain tumor next week. Cappotelli is apparently is very good spirits backstage, and is said to be handling things so well, he is an inspiration to the locker room.
My Views: I wish Matt the best of luck. I also think it is great that he is keeping his spirits up. Things have changed so much, that there is a possibility that he could recover. Stay strong dude.
Your News: WWE has sent former Four Horsemen member Tully Blanchard a Legends contract. No word yet if he plans to sign.
My Views: TULLY! That is all. Seriously, it would be great to have Tully in to do some more DVD interviews and such. Maybe the 4-Horsemen in the HOF soon. Tully heads up a group that does Prison Ministry, so I doubt he'd have much time to do wrestling things, but Tully as a Road Agent would rule as well.
Your News: Oleg Prudius has officially signed with WWE. Prudius was the guy that Jerry Jarrett brought to WWE a few months back.
My Views: Great, another jacked up juice monkey. Maybe he and Giant Singh can tag together.
…Intermission…
…AND I'M BAAAAAAACK!…
TNA stories, scuttlebutt and rumors:
Your News: As reported earlier, the 1.14 edition of Impact did a 0.8 cable rating, which is around the normal number they have been doing. The 1.16 (Monday Night) replay did a 0.9 cable rating, which is by far the highest number that they done in the Monday time slot. There was a big lead in for them with the live UFC Fight Night, which scored a 1.7 rating.
The 0.9 rating ties the highest rating TNA has scored thus far on SPIKE TV.
My Views: Good ratings news. The Saturday rating is steady, and they took advantage of the UFC lead in to score a great replay rating. Which is why I think that it is stupid that SPIKE will not give them the Monday during the dog show.
Your News: TNA and SpikeTV were planning on having a live TNA primetime special Monday February 13th, the night after TNA's February PPV. TNA was really hoping to land the spot as RAW is not airing that night on USA Network. However, SpikeTV has decided not to go forward with the special due to "logistical reasons."
2/13 will now likely be the first Monday in many years that no wrestling airs in primetime.
My Views: This is a stupid move for SPIKE I feel. NO WWE Show this night, and they aren't going to run TNA or UFC stuff? This would have been a great test run to see how much interest TNA could garner. A missed opportunity to be sure.
More news, here are their "logistical reasons:" Spike cancelled the special because they didn't think TNA wasn't ready for a Monday night special. They had also wanted TNA to sign one more big name for the special, to appear on it with Sting, but TNA couldn't pull it off; which made SPIKE afraid that TNA couldn't pull off a 1.0 on a Monday night from 9-11 in the Raw time slot.
TNA are also in early talks with two big names, neither of whom is Bret Hart, and one of whom is someone who, apparently, you wouldn't think would be interested.
Wow, the stupidity continues. They don't think that TNA can get a 1.0 on MONDAY! They are guaranteed a 1.0 with no problems, since they get a 0.9 on Saturdays and there would be NO RAW! I think that SPIKE is missing a great opportunity here by not at least running some form of "Best of TNA Special" for the two hour spot.
Your News: Jay Lethal has officially signed a TNA deal.
There are no other plans to use Sean Waltman following his appearance at Final Resolution on Sunday.
Former WCW star Norman Smiley was backstage again at the Impact taping tonight. No word yet on if TNA plans to use him.
Matt Morgan was at the Final Resolution PPV. There has been talk of bringing him in.
My Views: Lethal is fun to watch so far in TNA, I approve.
Piss on Waltman.
We need the big wiggle, just for fun. Plus, Norman can work and could teach the young guys a lot.
Your News: According to prwrestling.com, Apolo no showed the TNA PPV Final Resolutions due to problems with his flight. It took off later than expected and by the time the PPV rolled around, Apolo was still in the air. Konnan took his spot in the match alongside Homicide. It seems that Apolo has been written off the storyline, since Konnan and Homicide challenged the James Gang for the next PPV and Apolo's name was not even mentioned alongside the LAX.
My Views: You know, when you are going to be on a PPV, you would think that you would properly plan and take an early flight, just incase something like this happens. I understand that things happen that can be out of your control, but some careful planning could avoid these things. If Apolo loses his spot for this, I do feel bad for him, but I also feel that TNA needs to step up and make examples of people that don't show up. Of course bringing back Sean Waltman does nothing to support their case.
Your News: Raven is not on his way out of TNA. In an earlier report, it was said that Raven is on rocky ground with management, but this is not true. His time off of TV has been planned for months, and when he returns the story will focus on the "Controversy in Canada" show where he lost the NWA title.
What is true is that Raven will not get paid during his time off of TV, because his contract is structured so that he is "paid per appearance."
Raven is currently suffering from a severe thyroid problem, from his years of drug (recreational and prescription) abuse. It is causing him to gain weight and making it extremely difficult to drop it, and he is now near the 270lb mark. Raven had tried to keep this issue under wraps from TNA management, so that they would not have to alter the storyline and make more work for them.
My Views: I am very glad that he is not on his way out, but am sorry to hear that he is having health issues. It is looking like his life style is catching up with him and this does explain why he got so out of shape. He was looking good for a while there, but has definitely changed over the last few months. Supposedly his new angle will be similar to the X Men's "Phoenix" storyline in ways, so I am interested.
Your News: Sting and Jeff Jarrett met in a closed door meeting this week to discuss the direction that his character will take in TNA. As of now the plan is for Sting to be off of the next two PPV's, which will be explained on next week's Impact. Sting will be on future Impacts, in various vignettes. The plan is for Jarrett and his crew to run down Sting until he is "forced to return" to get revenge.
My Views: I touched on this in my latest my take on. I think it can work pretty well if they plan it well. You need to build to Sting's appearances and make them nig and make them count.
Everything else that needs covering:
Your News: Former WWE star John Tenta is struggling in his fight against cancer. Tenta posted the following message on the Wrestlecrap.com forum.
"I've been very busy. My last scan results were very disappointing. Despite being on chemo, the tumors in my hip, and both lungs continued to grow. The doctor is starting me on new chemo this Monday. It is a new combination, of chemo I've already had. The doctor says it has a one in ten chance of working. If that doesn't work, I will try experimental drugs. If nothing works, I have a life expectancy of six months to a year."
My Views: Damn, the big man keeps on fighting, but it doesn't look good. I'll keep you in my prayers big guy, keep fighting and living life as much as you can.
Your News: Kevin Sorbo, who portrayed Hercules on the TV series and was also on "Andromeda," will be staring in the straight to DVD sequel of "Walking Tall," playing the role of Chris Vaughn. The Rock stared in the remake of "Walking Tall," but had no interest in the sequel.
My Views: That sequel went from zero to shit in the time it took you to read that.
Your News: Warrior has now made "Warrior" his last name as well, meaning his name is Warrior Warrior.
Warrior has also filed a lawsuit against WWE, Vince McMahon, and Linda McMahon regarding the "Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior" DVD.
My Views: Warrior Warrior…Riiiiiiiiight. So he is suing Vince eh? That will be interesting, we can only hope that Warrior Warrior represents himself.
And now for some fun…
No fun time for you guys this week! Blame the rude emailers!
Reader Rant Time:
From George N on TNA's talent search - Your News: TNA is apparently interested is signing some more Indy talent.
I really agree with you on TNA's talent hunt. IMO they can BARELY give
everyone air time and struggle to get people on PPV (Example, Sabu coming
off a HUGE win was absent off the last PPV... though they found place for
Waltman, gave him a HUGE win in a no DQ match... but never mind that!). I
wouldn't even *think* of adding any talent until such time as Spike gives
them a second hour to showcase their product (BTW How about giving TNA WWE's
old weekend slots? Saturday 10pm (continental's old slot) and Sunday 7pm
(Heat)?). Even if they DO get more air time the LAST thing TNA needs is a
bunch of small, green, vanilla looking rookies running around as they try to
run the last mile to make themselves a real threat to WWE. It takes a long
time for a young wrestler to put it all together, and having a bunch of
guy's who look and wrestle alike on TV will help no one.
IMO, TNA really needs to look at grabbing a heavyweight or two to come in
and make an IMPACT. I was kinda hoping Chris Benoit was going to be that
guy, but with him out I think that TNA needs to reach out and bring in a few
role-players to fill out the midcard. Guy's with enough of a background that
they can survive jobbing to some of the great up and comers TNA is grooming.
My candidates:
Chris Kanyon when motivated can be a great guy to have in the midcard. He
can talk, and is a decent worker. D'Lo Brown is another often overlooked guy
who can more than carry his own end of a feud. Ken Shamrock would be another
great hand to have, and as the first ever TNA NWA champ he could be
instantly brought in as a credible upper midcarder. Mike Awesome is yet
another credible heavyweight who could go a long way towards getting guy's
like Abyss and Monty Brown over. Finally Andrew "Test" Martin is someone
whom the WWE never had a chance to tear down before he left WWE-land and
could fit very well into many of the current storylines.
If TNA is really interested in bringing in some X-division guy's then Billy
Kidman, Juventud Guerrera and Yoshihiro Tajiri are all guy's who could go
along way towards getting their young X guy's over. Let's not forget about
TNA alumni Low-Ki and Frankie Kazarian, both of whom are seasoned vets at
this point and have distinct and polished looks.
The key at this point isn't getting a whole bunch of promising young guy's
with flashy moves on their shows... they have those guy's already. They need
to surround their current talent with a strong supporting cast, whom their
young guy's can work and learn from, and they aren't going to get that from
raiding the indie scene...
PS OTOH if Hiroshi Tanahashi can speak any English at all, I could live with
TNA opening a slot for him right now. Though he didn't quite click with AJ
on the PPV I was having flashbacks to Ricky Steamboat circa 1983 the whole
time I watched him...
Thanks for the email George!
Pimpin ain't easy…because no one wants to return the pimp, ya fuckers!
