The Triple Threat 8.06.06: The 14th Edition
Posted by Sean, David, Alex on 08.06.2006

Hello everyone, as summer continues to roll along and the United States keeps going on this heat wave, at least there is some wrestling to talk about. Hopefully, by next month it will be safe to step outside without needing some sun tan lotion. Anyway, enough about the weather and onto something more important, well as far as this column is concerned, the wrestling. We give our thoughts on lots of the ECW happenings of this week, Jeff Hardy re-signed with WWE how is that going to pan out? All that plus the debut of a video game question. If you want to know more then by all means read the rest of this column. At least it will keep you cool for about twenty minutes. Damn we are only at the 14th edition? I could have sworn we have done more than that, I guess it just seems like we've been here longer. Well what's left to say other than, we hope you enjoy the Triple Threat.

Topic #1 ECW had a special show in the Hammerstein Ballroom this week. The show ended up with a 2.4 rating and the crowd was crazy the whole night. What are your thoughts on the show?

Alex: Crowd was good, but the show itself was severely lacking. Why? oh why, do they insist on putting Test and even worse Mike Knox over, WHY!?!? It could be a cool moment to have Dreamer and Sandman cleanly win a match in front of their fans. But anyway, was great to see a huge debut for CM Punk. The main event was absolutely terrible though, I enjoyed hearing Show and Batista getting booed, the "change the channel" chant was pure gold. All in all, this was one of the best "ECW" shows since the "rebirth."

David: First off, I would like to say I'm sorry for no showing last week. It is completely my fault but, I did have some computer problems. Damn spyware to hell! Anyway, back to the topic. Work caused me to miss ECW this week but, I did catch some footage of it and read everything that happened. From what I know, it seems like it was a decent show overall. I was excited to see CM Punk's debut. I heard the Batista vs. Big Show match kind of ruined the show a bit, which is understandable because neither of them are ECW. I wish they would let Big Show wrestle people on the ECW roster instead of bringing in a Raw or SmackDown superstar to fight him for the title each week. They need to let ECW live on its own so it can be a separate entity from the two other brands, other then that, I'm hoping to see more CM Punk on the tube.

Sean: I think you can certainly call this their best show to date, minus the main event. They had some storyline development with Test & Knox vs. Dreamer & Sandman. The match was fun and they did a good thing in making it extreme rules. Poor Dreamer took a nasty bump into the barbwire board. We had the debut of CM Punk which we will talk more about in a little bit. Again there was more storyline stuff with Sabu asking for a title shot and Heyman once again refusing his request because he knows Sabu could beat Big Show. The stuff with all the ECW originals turning their backs on Heyman was pretty cool to me because I liked the look on Heyman's face. RVD is set to return on the next show and it will be interesting where they take this storyline once he is back. Kurt Angle also made his return taking out the Brooklyn Brawler. The good thing here was that they didn't squash another random ECW original just to make Angle look good. Finally, the main event was what it was. The crowd hated it and you know what, they paid their money so they should have the right to chant what they want. Sir Andy Clark started a rant in the forums about how he had hoped that the ECW fans would have enjoyed the match. Well Andy what do you expect? I mean Batista is not the best wrestler of the whole bunch, Kane has probably had better one on one matches with Show then Batista did. Also I have no idea why this wasn't extreme rules that made no sense to me. That is a lack of continuity by creative. If all the other matches Big Show has been in had extreme rules why is this one with Batista so different? It did seem like the fans didn't give the match a chance from the beginning, but the lack of ability by Big Show or even to a way lesser degree, Batista to adapt to the circumstances made it even stupider. Batista should be ready for anything and he obviously wasn't ready to get crazy chants like "change the channel." It was a good show overall, but maybe this will teach WWE to give ECW its own main event.

Topic #2 Big news hit the wire this week that Jeff Hardy has been re-signed by WWE. So should he be reunited with his brother Matt or keep them as singles wrestlers?

Alex: WOW! This really came out of left field. So after being fired from your company for drugs and missing shows, WHILE on his second suspension from another company for missing shows, you get the idea to rehire him? Odd? Not really, for the E nowadays I would expect anything. I do have to say that it'll be cool to see the Hardy Boyz back together again.

David: I think this is a good chance for SmackDown to revamp the tag team division once again. What's better than having one of the best tag teams of all time come back to shake things up a bit? As long as Jeff stays off the drugs, this hiring will only make things better for WWE. I'm glad to see Jeff is clean and I can't wait to see him in the ring again. For right now though, only as a tag team wrestler, not a singles wrestler.

Sean: Well this is interesting, could this be the reason that Matt was taken off the road to get ready to deal with his brother once again? It sure sounds plausible at this point. It seems like WWE has just been waiting for Jeff to come back and after the whole Matt Hardy vs. EDGE blow-off, they have given Matt nothing to do. It sucks that Matt has had to become the big loser in WWE because he has the talent and charisma to be more than a second fiddle to his brother. We will have to see what WWE does with Jeff, because he no longer can no-show anything or he will find himself on the indy scene again. I'm not opposed to them reforming the Hardy Boyz tag team, because it adds a set tag team to the SmackDown division to battle with London & Kendrick, while they find others to rebuild the division around. Either way, if they end up just bringing Jeff in as a singles wrestler it is fine with me as well. I could see them bringing Jeff over to RAW because they are in desperate need of some more mid-card talent. The best thing is that they don't have to worry about getting Jeff over so he can just come in and be placed somewhere. As long as Jeff shapes up, gets off the drugs, and arrives on time to the shows, he shouldn't be a problem.

Topic #3 CM Punk made his debut on ECW. What did you think of his match and can he continue to be over with the crowds?

Alex: This was a great debut, the build up to the debut was excellent, and the debut itself was a very good thing for Punk. Debuting in that arena was a smart decision by the E's booking committee, knowing that the hardcore fans who knew who he was, would come across great and make Punk look strong. The match itself was decent, nowhere near what Punk can do. Hopefully that won't be all we see from him in this run. I hope his victory was a sign of things to come.

David: He's CM Punk for goodness sake, he can do whatever the hell he wants. Ok, technically that's not true, but I hope that he can continue to be over with the crowds and keep his amazing style of wrestling. This guy is gold people. I have to thank Alex for showing me how awesome this guy really is. CM Punk is what makes me want to watch ECW each and every week. This guy is the next big star out there if WWE knows how to use him right. Luckily, WWE has let him keep his gimmick and, so far, his wrestling style, excluding his special moves. I have high hopes for Punk, maybe one day we will see him with that WWE title around his waist.

Sean: WWE did a very good job of making sure Punk looked like a big star on Tuesday. He had a big time entrance, the crowd loved him, and he had a good match with Justin Credible. Of course, the most important thing will be once he goes back to being in front of the regular SmackDown crowds. He probably won't be getting a big pop like that everywhere, but I do think he will gain popularity pretty quickly, especially, if WWE really decides to give ECW its own tapings. If WWE lets him have a semblance of his move set people will like him. I understand he can't use the Pepsi Plunge because well Triple H already does the Pedigree. However, his gimmick and the way he wrestles will attract people to him which should be WWE's aim. Punk has the ability to be the star on this brand if they keep his cool factor and allow him to be himself. Will that happen? I don't know, but I'm just really glad to see Punk on WWE television.

Topic #4 There has been big talk between Spike TV and TNA, about giving Impact two hours some time around October once the 4th season of the Ultimate Fighter has ended. Another report came out saying that instead of giving Impact two hours, the 2nd hour would be extended to TNA's Xplosion program that would be similar to WWE's Heat. With all that being said, what do you think is going to happen first, TNA gets two hours or two shows? Or ECW gets two hours on SCI-FI?

Alex: I would have to say that I would like a two hour time slot, more than two shows a week. Whatever the case, TNA NEEDS two hours a week, with the heavyweight division growing, the X Division exploding once again, and the tag division being hotter than ever, TNA needs to get more air time. Their roster is growing, also their matches, promos, and storylines need time to develop.

David: Well I would hope that TNA gets a two hour show instead of two separate one hour shows. With a two hour show, TNA would be able to build up storylines better and we would be able to see better matches. Just think of TNA without squash matches? Now that would be a show everyone could enjoy. It is really hard to determine which show would get two hours first. Both channels are happy with both wrestling shows so if anything, it is only a matter of time before ECW and TNA both have two hour shows. In fact, I hope both shows get that extra hour added on so I can have more damn wrestling to watch.

Sean: Well unless Spike TV comes out and confirms this before October I have a feeling ECW is going to win this fight. Seriously, ECW is getting better ratings than SmackDown right now, not to mention it is overly doubling TNA in the ratings every week. Now this doesn't mean that ECW is better than the other two shows, it just means that WWE has a wonderful marketing campaign, and must have a lot of fans that love it no matter what smart fans like to say about it. Almost all the non-wrestling shows on SCI-FI average what TNA garners in ratings and if ECW is doubling that, I don't see why you don't give them a whole year of shows, plus another hour of television. Now let's get to the whole point of this, TNA needs another hour of television and Spike TV should understand that. They have been able to give us some really good matches, storyline development, and new stars with one hour of TV a week. However, it always seems they can't give us what could be the best show on television because they have to limit their main matches or turn half of their X-Division matches into spot-fests so that they can get all their shit in there. TNA has that big old-school feel going right now with the X-Division, a really good tag division, a mid-card, and main eventers. Now I'm not saying their perfect because every show has their problems, but TNA does have a sense of identity. Another hour would allow them to use that over-inflated roster better, plus they could develop more storylines for some of their lower card PPV matches. If ECW got another hour I don't know if they have enough talent to even fill the 2nd hour. However, having an extra hour would also allow WWE to get some of the other guys over and develop those younger guys as well. Please Spike give TNA two hours and don't make one of them Xplosion, give them to Impact. I also wouldn't mind ECW getting two hours too.

Video Game Question of the Week: Time to mix things up a little bit with a different type of question. Which next-generation Video Game system interests you so much that you are considering buying it?

Explanation: I know this is off topic but since all three of us play Video Games I thought it would be a good idea to replace the fun topic of the week, with something that would allow people to see a different side of us. Feel free to hit us up on your thoughts on the video game world too. If you don't like the addition of a video game question into the column, let us know and it will be removed. Read below to see what we had to say in this week's video game question. Also don't forget to visit 411's Video Game Section For all of your Video Game needs.

Alex: PS3 baby…Metal Gear Solid 4, I don't think I need to say any more.

David: To start things off, I don't approve of this question since it has nothing to do with wrestling. So I'm not going to say anything other than, I'm PS3 all the way.

Sean: I love how David always supports new ideas, anyway, I know I might get a lot of hate for this, but right now I'm really into the Nintendo Wii. I know it might not have the greatest graphics or have the next DVD player, but it does give you a new way to play games. This is the one thing that bothers me about Sony and Microsoft if they would concern themselves with making a video game system and not a freaking "media hub" maybe there wouldn't be such a big complaint about the prices. If I want a Blu-Ray player, I'll buy one, if I want an MP3 player, I can buy a computer, if I want a camera, well I already got a digital one, but you get the point. All I want from the PS3 or the XBOX 360 is damn video games, is that so hard to understand? That's why I am partial to the Wii because even though it may not be a traditional game system, all it does is play games. I like the new controller because it is somewhat original and will give us a new way to play. That Tennis game is gonna be fun and I don't even like Tennis. I can't wait to play Zelda Twilight Princess and Mario Galaxy just to see how they are going to use the controller with those games. Don't get me wrong I love my PS2, but I don't want to pay 600 dollars just to say I got a game system that can do tons of stuff that I don't need. If Sony is running around telling everyone that their new system is a computer that's when you know something is going wrong. They should be happy about their new game system and not giving it another name so that the mainstream people won't be offended. Seriously though, Nintendo Wii is doing things right, making something original but still just giving us video games for a reasonable price. I might consider getting a Wii first, and then probably get a PS3 later down the line, when I can walk into a store and not be hounded by 500 other fan boys. The only reason I'm getting a PS3 is because my beloved RPG franchises are sticking with Sony, and I want to keep playing those games. 600 dollars is a lot of money and with the economy the way it is, Sony better be aware that Microsoft and Nintendo have a chance to beat it this time around. Until the release of these two systems I only have one thing to say, Nintendo DS rules.

Topic #6 Now back to wrestling, even though Lashley is back WWE is still considering turning Finlay face. Should Finlay stay heel or turn face? Or does it even matter?

Alex: If this means we get more Finlay vs. Regal, I'm all for it. I'm sure Finlay vs. Kennedy would be good too. I just don't know if Finlay could get really over as a face.

David: Why not? Finlay is getting over all by himself, so it is only natural to eventually turn him face. I'm not sure how long it will last, but it will be fun to see Finlay on the good side of things. A Finlay vs. Regal feud would be sweet. What is better then having two great wrestlers have a feud with great matches? NOTHING! All you have to do now is throw in the little bastard and you have perfection.

Sean: In my opinion, I don't think WWE has to do anything with Finlay. Let Finlay be himself and let the fans decide whether he needs to be a face or a heel. I mean he has the comedy there with the Little Bastard but Finlay has the ability to get the fans behind him or keep them against him. So if they want to team him up with Lashley to face Regal and Kennedy that's fine as long as they let him have his bad ass attitude. Finlay is awesome and I don't care what he becomes just as long as he's on my television every week kicking ass.

Topic #7 ECW might be getting some new extremists in the near future. WWE is contemplating sending Rene Dupree and Boogeyman to ECW. Do these guys have any place in ECW?

Alex: Well Dupree had some untapped potential, Boogeyman is one of the worst wrestlers and gimmicks of the past decade in the WWE. It would be absolutely horrendous to see the Boogeyman in the new ECW. I wouldn't mind seeing Dupree however, he could do some good things. Like I said before, Boogeyman is definitely a WWE wrestler.

David: I don't know how the hell they could put Rene Dupree in ECW. He doesn't fit with anything that ECW stands for or anything about the new ECW either. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem with Dupree, he actually looks really good right now and is totally out of that steroid looking body he use to have, but, he's not ECW material. On the other hand, I think the Boogeyman would fit-in with ECW. The SCI-FI network would love him and that helps ECW stay on the channel a lot longer.

Sean: Rene Dupree does not need to be in ECW he is very generic and doesn't really offer anything for them. He should go to SmackDown or RAW and add to their mid-card. Boogeyman on the other hand would be a great fit in ECW with all those wacky characters. Sure he can't wrestle but he offers some comedy and would fill the need for a SCI-FI character. Hey, I would prefer him to an alien, at least he's human. SmackDown doesn't need a guy like that and he would add nothing to the show. At least in ECW they can find some way to use him. I could see him doing something where he keeps attacking Kelly Kelly to the point where Knox goes psycho. Let's go through these again, Dupree for ECW no, Boogeyman for ECW yes.

Topic #8 WWE may have finally gotten persuaded by Tuesday's ECW show to give ECW its own TV Tapings. What does this do to ECW on SCI-FI?

Alex: Yes, this is what ECW needs to get better. If the shows come across like the one on Tuesday or like the house shows they run, ECW will be much better than that garbage we saw the first few weeks.

David: This is definitely what ECW needs. It needs to be its own separate entity away from the other two brands of WWE. ECW already has a fan base that's big enough to keep the show running. This also gives WWE a chance to make more money since there will be more wrestling shows going on throughout the US. Like I said in a previous question, all it really needs is one extra hour and we got another solid show of wrestling.

Sean: I'm glad it took that New York crowd to finally show WWE, that it needs that rabid small arena feel for ECW. The crowd is what makes the shows believe it or not. WWE has those big arenas for RAW and SmackDown that respond to what they want and are silent for what they don't care about. TNA well, they have the same 500 people at their shows doing the double chants and give most of the roster no character status (meaning they are neither heels nor faces) because they like everybody except for Jeff Jarrett. ECW also needs its crowd so that it can be distinguishable as well. Also with their own crowd WWE will have to learn to cater to them which will make ECW even better once they get the hang of things. Wherever they decide to tape these shows at, will guarantee WWE a hot crowd that will let them know exactly what they like and dislike. I think that will end up not only benefiting WWE but ECW in the long run.

Match of the Week Nominees: Intercontinental Championship Triple Threat: Johnny Nitro vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Carlito, Trish Stratus & Candice Michelle vs. Mickie James & Victoria, Shawn Michaels vs. Umaga (RAW), Test & Mike Knox vs. Sandman & Tommy Dreamer, CM Punk vs. Justin Credible (ECW), X-Division #1 Contender's Five Way: Sonjay Dutt vs. Petey Williams vs. Kazarian vs. Alex Shelley vs. Jay Lethal (TNA Impact), Finlay vs. William Regal (SmackDown), Sonjay Dutt vs. Milano Connection AT (No Limit Pro Wrestling).

Explanation: Match of the Week is where we honor those companies that have enough money to get themselves a national television deal. We list the ones that we thought were the best from the three shows and then pick our favorite. We may include a Heat match if it was really good but most of the time it will just be from RAW, Smackdown! ECW and Impact! PPV's don't count because we always give out our match of the night when we give our thoughts on them. Also we only add an indy match if we went to the show. So here are our picks for Match of the Week.

Sean: Sonjay Dutt vs. Milano Connection AT

David: CM Punk vs. Justin Credible

Alex: CM Punk vs. Justin Credible

Shout Out's to our 411 Crew

First as always because he comes out the latest of all the people we usually link. Ari Well you want to know all you can about ROH? This is the column to read. It is damn good and we read it every week, so you should too.

Fact or Fiction Also starred Ari this week alongside Brad Garoon as they debate things in style.

Larry & Geoff have The 3R's Once again. I will have to admit that Csonka got me on Tuesday with his whole "I'm retiring thing." I'm very glad to know the boss is sticking around, or we would have had to waste a topic talking about what Larry has meant to this website. Now go read the column in peace people.

JP is defending people once again, and this week he defends Chyna as she became the first woman to win the Intercontinental Championship. I personally feel she is Not Guilty However, that's just my opinion, but you can go tell JP exactly what you think.

Don't forget to check out JP and JT on Hidden Highlights as well.

Bayani Domingo In his Truth B Told, gives us some fantasy trades between TNA, RAW, ECW, and SmackDown how did they all wind up? Well go check his column to see who went where.

John Meehan Proving that the nice guys in wrestling do sometimes finish first. Learn what some wrestlers like Nikita Koloff and The Mountie are doing after wrestling.

Special shout out to Andy Clark who will be doing the Shimmy tomorrow morning

Hey! there are other new guys out there besides us

Because they come out the latest of all these columns they get first dibs from us. High/Low Road Sat and Rajah discuss Chavo Guerrero and this upcoming feud with Rey Mysterio. Hey Chavo could do some things for himself in this feud, you never know. I just hope WWE doesn't think about giving him the title too.

Shining the Spotlight Michael Weyer gives a review of a Tag Team wrestling book, he talks about some of those great tag teams of yesteryear. He also discusses the tag team scene currently as well, plus he has a huge mailbag so check him out and let him know what you think about his column this week.

Getting Over In the debut edition of this new column, Mike LaFave attempts to get certain superstars over with one storyline. He starts out with an attempt to get "The Miz" over. I thought it was a good read, plus he has some good overall opinions of wrestling in general. I implore you to check all of that out.

The Top Ten Julian Williams gives us his top ten segments. I have to agree with #1, but do you? Well dammit don't sit here go tell him already.

If you want to know where we came from and some of our old columns that aren't on 411 go here: Old Triple Threat's

There is something new you should know about

I've been meaning to do more than just link the 411 Video Games section because I feel all the column writers should be recognized for their hard work. Also don't forget to check out all the latest reviews on your favorite games. Those news reports are also very important because they keep you up to date on what's going on in the video game world.

On Monday's Damian Sarcuni comes out with his column called Angry Gaming Where he takes a look at things in gaming that make him pretty mad. Also he takes a look at that same thing from the good side and shows you where you might find that problem currently. This week's problem is "Episodic gaming" if you don't know what that is, then think of the .Hack PS2 games.

Then on Tuesday's Brad Garoon releases a column by the name of Greatest Stories Ever Told This week he wants you to choose your own adventure either The Simpsons: Hit and Run (I own that game it is really fun.) or Final Fantasy Tactics (this is the only Final Fantasy series I don't like because the strategy stuff bores me.) However, you need to decide what kind of story you want Brad to tell you, so go let him know.

Wednesday's is all about Jordan Williams's Working Title Yeah that's the name of the column don't ask me why it doesn't have a real name. Anyway, right now Jordan is comparing Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. He takes their next-generation systems and sees what is good and bad about them in relation to what they could do in the future. In this edition, he takes a look at the XBOX 360.

Thursday's the Games section goes Retro with Steve McHugh's Retro Review The concept is simple he takes a look at old games for certain systems and gives you a look at how they were back then and how they would stack up in today's world. This week he looks at the First Person Shooter Exhumed or Powerslave as it was known in the USA.

Man a whole bunch of stuff comes out on Friday's. First we have a column Hardcore Haven Where Joel Beggs talks about different things and in the debut edition he gives his thoughts on the rise of the casual gamer. He also tells us why hardcore gamers (like myself) are getting kicked to the curb for the mainstream audience.

Finally and still on Friday's, you get a double dose of the Video Games staff with an outsider here and there.
The Video Game section has its own Fact or Fiction where we take two staff members and ask them questions about a certain topic, then, they say Fact or Fiction. This week's Fact or Fiction featured Ron Snyder taking on, me, Sean Garmer in a hard fought battle.

The last thing is the Top 5 where we in the Video Games staff give our top 5 games on a certain topic. This week it is our Top 5 Superhero games.

Our Indy Scene

Well even though it doesn't seem like we do, All three of us do enjoy some Indy wrestling once in a while. Whether it is XCW in Denton or PCW in Arlington we try to go when we can. However, last Sunday Alex and I (we are friends with the booker) were fortunate enough to go to the very first No Limit Pro Wrestling show. They use outside talent such as Christopher Daniels and Texas talent like Brett Barnes. So I thought it would be cool for Alex and me, to give our thoughts on the show in general. You are welcome to send us your feedback on this too if you like. Just to let you know, if we don't have this feature up on the column it is because we didn't happen to catch an Indy show that week. So let's get on with it already.

No Limit Pro Wrestling 7/30/06 Show.

Sean: Well the show wasn't sold out but it should have been because we had some damn good wrestling except for two matches. First up is some Texas only talent with PCW superstars JT Lamotta, BJ Turner, and Wally Darkmon in a Triple Threat. The match was rather good and got the crowd hot for the rest of the show. Fast Eddie (an ROH guy) defeated XCW superstar Brett Barnes. We had some good back and forth action till Brett missed the 450 Splash and then Eddie went up top and did his trademark Backflip Powerslam. IWA man, Ian Rotten took on XCW superstar Hugh Rouge (who is like our Necro Butcher, except he doesn't look like an ugly old man.) Both these guys bled all over the floor and used a bunch of weapons. I'm just glad Hugh was ok, I don't really care for hardcore stuff like this. After this we had the match of the night, Sonjay Dutt vs. Milano Connection AT. Alex and I were sitting in the front row and were also the only one that threw streamers for Milano. This was the first time I had ever seen Milano wrestle and he is a cool guy. There were double chants in this one and even a, this is awesome chant broke out. Next up was Lance Hoyt vs. Killer Khan, poor Hoyt couldn't catch a brake with this guy. I think Khan passed out at the end of the match and they just ended it suddenly. It was a black spot on the night, sadly Hoyt had to be involved. Finally we got our main event. Christopher Daniels (my favorite TNA Wrestler) vs. Petey Williams (Alex's favorite TNA wrestler), this match was just plain fun. CD took Petey to the outside and let some members of the crowd chop him. After Petey did an "Oh Canada", an opportunity presented itself for Christopher Daniels to return the favor. He did the whole Pledge of Allegiance. There were even "we want Curry Man" chants so CD did a little Curry man dance for us. Daniels won the match but the fun didn't end there. Robert Evans a PCW wrestler was doing color commentary for the show and is apparently Canadian. So he cut a promo telling Petey he had disgraced Canada with his loss. Then Lamotta returned to attack Petey from behind. CD then came back to even the odds. Since we didn't get to see the Canadian Destroyer in the match, we got it here, a Stereo Angel's Wings and Canadian Destroyer to end the show. I had a lot of fun during the show and I have to give props to the booking team and all the wrestlers. I look forward to the next show on September 10th with Samoa Joe in the main event.

Alex: This show was awesome for me, I helped promote and did some production things for the show, so it seemed really cool to be a part of it. Anyway, the card itself was incredible, it was the best card I have ever seen live. Brett Barnes Vs. Fast Eddie was an amazing bout as I didn't think either of those men could perform as well as they did. Seeing Ian Rotten live was pretty cool, and the hardcore match he was in was sick. Sonjay Dutt Vs. Milano Collection AT was absolutely amazing, one of the best matches I have seen in a LONG time, there was insane high flying mixed with some very stiff action made for a tremendous match. The main event between the Fallen Angel and Petey Williams was great, some good technical wrestling mixed in with some high spots and some comedy spots, including Daniels standing on Petey's crotch in the corner reciting the pledge of allegiance, classic. Even Curry Man made a brief appearance in the match. It was an amazing night and the next show should be awesome as well seeing as how SAMOA JOE is going to be there. I recommend that everyone head over to No Limit Pro Wrestling To learn more about the company and GET THE DVD!!!

Now Time for Feedback

Well what a change a week makes, we got plenty of feedback this week. The first one comes from Neal Talking about King Booker and SmackDown's outlook.

Hey guys - I enjoy your round table discussions, and while it's been some time since I checked it out, I wanted to see what you guys thought of King Booker. I'm glad you guys are on the bandwagon. A decade later and WWE is finally utilizing the King gimmick to its full potential. Plus, this is some of the best stuff Booker T has done in a long time, I even don't mind the slight change in character because Booker is just so good at it. While your table has decided Booker is keeping the belt warm for Batista, I think it has to be done this way. Booker could keep the belt for another couple of months, but again, it's going to Batista regardless. Booker doesn't really need the belt anyway, since it's the King gimmick that has him over and THAT he won't lose by dropping the title. And Rey really had to lose the title. They were killing him as champion. Multiple non-title losses to Mark Henry? Just brutal for Rey. Hopefully, with the Chavo feud he can get back to establishing some kind of winning streak. In spite of the wellness program, with Booker, Lashley, Finlay, Regal, Rey, Kennedy and Batista, SD! is looking just fine and right now interests me much more than RAW.

Sean: First, thank you for letting us know how much you enjoy the column. Secondly, I'm glad to know you like Booker as champion because it is great to see him finally get his due. I really wish he could keep it till Survivor Series but if WWE really has to make him be a transitional Champion than so be it. I really like the King gimmick too, he makes me laugh every time I see him on screen. SmackDown interests me more than RAW each week as well, and it's good to see I'm not the only one that feels that way.

David: I have to agree with you, King Booker is great. It seems like a lot of people have feedback on King Booker. He may only be holding the belt for a month but hey, he's Booker T, at least he got to hold that belt one more time. I also agree with you on the way SmackDown is looking. Everything is going to be fine for them I just can't wait until they get on the CW network. I hope that the ratings will shoot up and make SmackDown able to compete with the ratings of RAW. Thanks for the feedback.

Also here is Xzaviar Who doesn't like King Booker.

booker t as champ sucks bad, I didnt like him in wcw and dont like
him now, and just wait till his next big match will be with the beast and he will beat him down, i give the match 5 min.

David: I have to disagree with you on King Booker because this guy is very funny. The match will definitely last longer then 5 minutes but we will for sure see Batista back on top. Thanks for writing to us.

Sean: Booker T rules but if he does lose the title to Batista it will be longer than five minutes, or at least I hope.

Next comes Tanner Pruitt He talks Monty Brown and ECW.

Hey guys, On the subject of Monty Brown leaving, I can see
TNA resigning him if WWE doesn't jump on him immediatly. This is a guy the
WWE can really get over. He has a great character, great mic skills, and
more in ring ability than most other posers (*cough*Lashely*cough*). TNA
should resign him so they can continue the Alpha Male/Joe/Rhino thing, but
TNA does have a history of not keeping an eye on what is on its plate
already (sounds like something that Jim Cornette would say). This is a guy
to watch for in the next few weeks.

On the subject of ECW, I totally disagree with JT. While I do see that his
examination of the Extremists on the program are either old ECW or current
WWE may be correct, it is still a good product (despite what many "internet
people" may be saying). If Heyman brings in some guys from Dragon Gate,
which we all know he can, we will see the making of the best wrestling show
in AMERICA. Plus we got CM Punk, who IMO, will be the future flagship of the
WWE. Test and Knox make a good team and I can see them rivaling with Sandman
and Tommy Dreamer for the Tag titles once ECW gets them in. They also have
Niekirk O'Riley, a tag team straight from DSW. ECW will stay strong. My only
complaint with it is that they need to start getting the right guys to
challenge Big Show. Kane probably gave Big Show one of his best matches last
week and I think that they were right in bringing Kane in to do so. But in
the begining the brought in guys like John Cena, Edge and Randy Orton to the
ECW product. That is just stupid booking. Just looking at Randy Orton
doesn't make me think of Extreme, nor John Cena. They need guys like Chris
Benoit, Chris Jericho, and Dean Malenko to come back to ECW and bring the
SD! and RAW rosters back to one big roster. Do another invasion angle (just
between SD! and RAW) and then both rosters will appear on the other shows.
Bringing in Benoit, Jericho, and Malenko to ECW will help the Dragon Gate
guys, CM Punk, and Kurt Angle. In the end, ECW distances itself from the
core WWE scene (which is what we all want), SD! is no longer depleted and
Raw can now play with the SD! guys some. See, I fixed every thing in one
paragraph. BEAT THAT VINCE!!!

Anyways, thanks for listening to what I have to say.

Sean: I tried to get JT to respond to this but he never sent me anything back, so I guess we are going to have just go on here. Monty Brown does have great mic skills, but to say he's a better wrestler than Lashley? Sir, a football player is never a better wrestler than a guy with an Amateur background. Lashley is not a poser and they don't even have the same gimmick, so there is no need to hate on Lashley for no reason. Monty would be a great addition to the WWE lineup, but I think he's better off staying in TNA. Actually, I think Vince already beat that with the separate brands, I'm not saying we have three awesome shows every week, I'm saying that we do get three distinct shows every week and that is WWE's aim. I agree with you on your first points that ECW itself is not that bad and has the ingredients to become better. Hopefully, we do begin to see ECW challengers in the near future going for that ECW title. However, by no means do we need to stop the brand extension and have another invasion angle because it has already been done. This is the new ECW and they don't need guys like Benoit and Jericho coming back to it, because they are passed that time in their careers. Dean Malenko is an agent for ECW so he's still there. Benoit and Jericho would be better suited for wrestling on RAW or SmackDown. Well I do thank you for writing in to tell us your opinion though. You are welcome to write back anytime you wish.

David: First of all, thanks for writing us. I do think Monty Brown is a great wrester with all sorts of talent. I really do hope that the WWE does pick him up because in my opinion, WWE could use him better and to his full potential. Now I disagree with you on Lashley being a poser, sorry but just because he is a big black man, doesn't make them the same kind of wrestle. Ok, now onto the ECW stuff. I do think ECW is a good product but it has a lot to work on. ECW has many wrestlers with good talent but as this point in time, not all of them are being used to their full potential. With a two hour show, this all could change. ECW still needs to add more wrestlers to their roster to make the brand a more solid product. In time, we will see what ECW can do and I'm sure we all hope that it works out for the better.

Here's Mike Vecera Who wants to point out the error of our ways.

This was the first time I read your article on 411. I would
like to give you
some feedback on your opinions

1. I agree it was great to see the booker man win the title. Not because it
was
over due but because rey was so unbelieveable as champion it made me want to
puke.

2. The boogeyman is awesome i love the shit he does and i think the majority
of
people agree with me.

3. Ecw is coming along nicely it would be cool to see other former ecw stars
(i.e. New jack)

4. As far as tirple h and steph are concerned if im not mistaken when they
were
running the show i think raw was at its peak people want to see the bosses
daughter especially when she looks hot as she used to get her to lose the
baby
fat she put on with this kid and people (me included) will be back wanting
her
to sit on their faces!

You clowns and your opinions suck. I didnt agree with much you said i also
hate
tna it is the absolute worst shit i have seen since wcw was going under so
quit
singing its praises and start being a little more criticle of what they do
and
maybe we might get more of a rivarly like we used to have back in the day.

thank you for your time.

David: Ah don't you love the smell of hate mail. First off, I agree with you that Rey was an unbelievable champion. Second, if you think that the Boogeyman is awesome, you've got some serious problems. Yeah, his gimmick might be funny at times but, he has to be one of the worst, if not the worst, wrestler I have ever seen in my life. Hell, Hogan could probably run circles around this guy. Third, I like the new ECW but if they brought New Jack in then WWE would be complete idiots. New Jack isn't a stable guy and he would be considered a hazard to other wrestlers. Fourth, I do not want to see Triple H and Steph back together on screen because its already been done, we don't want to repeat the past we want to create new and original storylines. Last, but not least, TNA, may not be the best thing going on right now but it has some damn good qualities. You must be stupid to think that TNA is shit. Most of the TNA roster is actually made up of very talented wrestlers that you will most
likely never get to see in a WWE ring, Fallen Angel, AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, just to name a few of the great wrestlers out there today. If you can seriously say that TNA is completely shit then you sir are not a wrestling fan. It may have some shit in there, but it is not complete shit. Now you go off and read up on your wresting and come back with some real feedback that takes some sort of brains to write. That will be all.

Sean: First, I have to disagree with David here. Who cares about the believability of Rey as world champion. The storyline aspect of wrestling is fake and Rey can be champion if they had not booked him so badly, basically killing him every week doesn't help. Anyway, I'm so glad that you were kind enough to put your points in numbers. The Boogeyman is funny sometimes but he makes WWE look like a circus sideshow compared to the other athletes that they have. He can't wrestle and doesn't need to be on RAW or SmackDown. ECW at least has some weird characters that the Boogeyman can fit-in there with, however, he's not that awesome. New Jack would add nothing to ECW because he is a liability to everyone on that show. If you have the reputation of stabbing someone in the ring, you don't need to be anywhere near other people. They don't need that kind of edge, that's a very bad thing too have. It would be very stupid for WWE to do that and New Jack is a walking wellness program anyway. Actually, WWE was not at its peak because of the McMahon-Hemsley Era storyline, they were popular because of Mick Foley, The Rock, Stone Cold, DX, and more busting their asses for the company. Triple H was a very big part of that, but it wasn't because he had that cushy on-air storyline. Stephanie may be hot, and I don't mind her on television but not if she is going to make herself the most important person on the show. That doesn't help the company at all and would just ruin WWE. Finally, TNA has a lot of good things going for it, and many fantastic wrestlers. If they got two hours they may not beat WWE in the ratings, but they could very well give WWE a run for their money in show quality. So TNA is nowhere near shit and you should be ashamed of calling them that. Really, I think the only clown around here is you actually. See I have no problem with someone disagreeing with me on something, but once they start name calling then it has gotten passed that. I respect everyone's opinion as long as they keep it respectful. Learn to get some respect and maybe your feedback would be received with a little more meaning.

Finally, John Bryant Bateman Asks us a question about TNA and has another dream match.

Oh You Didn't know.......Your Arse betta Call somebody!!!!! It's me It's me it's that Tar Heel Wrestling King. alright boys I'm back with a brand new feedback. Amazing Red vs Rey Mysterio. well anyway lemme get to my questions: What do you guys think about adding either match time or a TV title to TNA. I mean WCW & ECW both had TV titles and WWE had the IC title. that was...well for WCW it was anyway was in addition to their World Heavyweight Title and their US title & the Tag team titles, and the Cruiserweight title. and WWE had the Light Heavyweight title, the IC title,Tag titles & the WWE title. so why not add a TV title to TNA just to give other superstars something else to go for besides either a Tag team title, the Dangerously insane X-division title, or the NWATNA Title? and Also:(this is for everyone doing the Column)

Sean: Amazing Red vs. Rey Mysterio would be a fast paced fun match-up. I would want to see it because they are so alike that it would be cool to see the counters they could think up. Rey wins hands down. As far as your question goes, TNA totally needs two hours more than anything. Those two hours as explained above in the column would help them a lot. They don't need another title, they already have one for all of their divisions. Thanks again man for being so loyal to us. If you guys want to see some of John's views on wrestling go here: John's Blog

David: Not really a dream match in my eyes, but i would have to go for Rey in this one. He has much more talent and ring experience to get him though this match easily. I much rather see TNA to get a second hour then for them to have another title. Three titles is enough for now. Maybe when they get there two hour show up and running then they could add another title to the mix.

Well that's all for this week folks. We would sure like to know what your opinions are on these topics. I'm glad to see that everything is back to normal as far as the column goes. Here's your lesson for this week, when you take money out of an ATM always remember to grab your card after you get the money. Then you might have to wind up with no money for like a week (like me) if you don't. Also be sure to go here to let everyone know that they should go see Snakes on a Plane. Well have a good week everyone, Crazy Sean is out. Thanks for reading, bye from David. Peace out from Alex Mattis. Later Triple Threaters.
