Happy Halloween! We have all of the weekly news that needs covered, and someone please offer me a good trade for this Benoit DVD!
Introduction…
Welcome to the weekly dose of news and views that you crave. I, as always am you host Larry Csonka and we have some big time stuff to discuss today. WWE is looking to hire some major talent, as they prepare for one to possibly leave. Dixie Carter impresses the fans, Bound for Glory sells well but ratings aren't great for TNA. A Korean legend passes away, WSX looks to be a go and could prove to be interesting while Tracy Smothers goes insane. We have all of that, things I want to talk about, reader feedback and conversations with JT~! You know you want to grab a beverage and read this bad boy, so let's get to it.
Things I want to talk about…
So Friday was my first day, by myself on Pizzas and Calzones. It was raining all day and the "in restaurant" traffic was slow but take out was off the FN hook. I made right around 100 Pizzas and or Calzones. By the time I got home Friday night I about dropped.
And then I got to recap Smackdown…
In other news, here is some other stuff I covered last week for your reading pleasure.
-Then the other is an EXCELLENT episode of CMLL's Guerreros del Ring! There should be another one posted soon from Sunday night, that one was on at 4am.
PS: Black Warrior owns you all.
After watching some stuff on the web, I have decided that the greatest tag team going today is…Los Ice Creams (El Hijo de Ice Cream and Ice Cream Jr.). VIVA CHIKARA~!
Sunday was just a sad day for my Steelers.
The Denver vs. Indy game was a good one I will say. I hate both teams, but it was a good game.
Good news is that I picked up some new WWE DVD's this weekend.
-The Eddie Guerrero DVD Set
-The Brian Pillman DVD Set
-The Jake Roberts DVD Set
-The Road Warriors DVD Set
-The History of the WWE Title DVD Set
This makes Larry a happy, happy man.
was bored, and I found that in the IMDB "Bottom" 100 movies, Hulk Hogan stars in three of them:
-#6: Santa with Muscles (1.9)
-#9: 3 Ninjas: High Moon and Mega Mountain (1.9)
-#82: Mr. Nanny (2.8)
How on Earth did Suburban Commando and No Holds barred escape that list?
112 and counting… **Struts**
And now back to Gene Krupa's syncopated style…
CHECK THIS OUT…FREE DVD…
Kinda…I have ONE copy, UNOPENED left of the Chris Benoit: Hardknocks DVD. I am looking to unload it. I don't want to sell it, but am instead looking to make a trade! If you are interested, make me a trade offer through email! (Lthomascsonka@earthlink.net)
WWE/ECW news, notes and happenings to the EXTREME:
Your News: The decision has been made for no more ECW house shows after the end of November. The TV will continue and the ECW wrestlers and feuds will continue on the other house shows.
My Views: Translation: "We have no confidence in the ECW brand. We took them on the road, on their own way too early with little to no planning. They are drawing bad house show attendance, and hurting our overall average on the quarterlies; so we will combine them with the other brands." Seriously, that is about it. They messed up the initial launch, they are pissed that they are drawing so poorly on the road and are now going to limit that brand but combining them with the other brands on the road. This will take away a lot of road time for guys that need it on all of the shows, which is a bad idea.
Your News: WWE is negotiating with International Star Bob Sapp.
My Views: Well this is interesting. Sapp some will remember from "The Longest Yard," while others will remember him from the Japanese MMA/K1 scene as well as from the Japanese wrestling scene. He won the IWGP title in March of 2004, but ended up vacating the belt. Sap has a ton of charisma and a huge fan base in Japan, and the E has been rumored to be wanting him for a long time. Sapp makes huge money in Japan and hasn't wanted to turn that down in the past, but with him fighting even less he may be interested now. I question how they would use him, and of course there is the whole wellness thing since they do no testing in Japan. Rumors say the deal is less than 50% to happen, so we'll just sit back and wait.
Your News: WWE is negotiating with Monty Brown.
My Views: With him being at Raw last week this is no surprise. Some automatically think that he will do better in WWE, and there is a theory to that. He would be working 4-days a week and they could have him working guys like Finlay and Regal to make sure he improves. Brown slowly improved in TNA, but the key is slowly. He never wanted to do house shows or Indy dates due to him making a lot of money in his personal life. That is the other side of the coin. Brown has NEVER had to work a WWE schedule and is far from a spring chicken as he is in his mid-30's. He has been a bit injury prone and that was on the easy TNA schedule. I highly doubt that his body, especially under wellness could endure the riggers of the WWE schedule. Add to that I am not sure WWE would use him any better than TNA did. Rumors say that the deal is virtually a lock unless Brown makes ridiculous demands, I will be curious to see if his body can handle the schedule.
Your News: Big Show's contract is up in February and he is considering retiring. He is breaking down physically and hurting very badly, They are planning to reduce his house show exposure, and are looking for him to drop the title soon. The Big Show turned down a 5-year, $5-million deal, which shocked McMahon and the company. The feeling is that he'll leave in February, but there is a chance that he will work a WrestleMania program with Hogan.
My Views: I am not surprised. I have been saying for weeks that the way they have booked him as champion, with weekly matches, weapons, big bumps and blading were only going to be a detriment on the big man's career and look what has happened. The biggest problems are the big man's knees honestly. Some will have no sympathy and say he should have lost weight, which he should have but they were suicidal with the way they booked him. Here's the kicker, Vince apparently doesn't want RVD to win the belt, so it appears as if the options are; Test, Sabu or Sandman. Which, conveniently enough will play into our next news item.
Your News: At an ECW show today in Milwaukee, Wis., ECW's "Messiah" Paul Heyman declared that Rob Van Dam will, in fact, receive his ECW World Title opportunity at December to Dismember. However, Heyman also made the monumental announcement that RVD's title match will take place in the first-ever Extreme Elimination Chamber.
My Views: Now this makes things a little interesting. I thing that the first feel that Show vs. RVD isn't a huge draw, especially since we have seen in something like three times on free TV. Also with Vince not particularly wanting RVD to win the title, this would be a way to get the title off of Show, keep Show strong and have someone else take the strap. That is all well and good, but considering ECW has such a limited roster, what the hell are they going to put on PPV? Seriously this may be the shortest PPV of all-time. Lets look at what they could put on as a card.
I am stretching there for matches, but as you can see, especially with the addition of Extreme Chamber the card is going to be very difficult to fill out. I figure with the Survivor Series one week before this PPV, there will be some Raw and or Smackdown interaction on the show to fill it out; which should lead to my theory of Carlito jumping to ECW. I think that it sucks that they haven't established enough talent to put on a PPV on their own. I figure the Survivor Series will have something that leads to this show angle wise. By the way, did you realize that the ECW PPV is 7-days after Survivor series? That is just asking for a bad buy rate, and even worse; this PPV may not be on in the UK. Speaking of the thin rosters…
Your News: Elijah Burke, Sylvester Terkay, Daivari and The Great Khali are all being moved to ECW.
My Views: All right, first of all this will add some needed depth to the ECW roster. I suppose Paul will strive to make Terkay a low rent Tazz, with Burke as a second and occasional wrestler. Daivari is a damn talented wrestler and this is HOW he should be used, wrestling with Khali as HIS corner man. Daivari could really do well in ECW. That all being said, the have just taken 4-guys from Smackdown. Terkay and Burke could have been a MUCH needed and good tag team on Smackdown. I was actually hoping for that, instead they ship them to ECW and take away from the potential of tag teams on the Smackdown brand. Daivari could have been a major player for the Cruiserweight division, but instead of trying to build a division, they take him and send him off to ECW. Robbing Peter to pay Paul kids, that's all there is to it.
Your News: David Taylor will have surgery on his torn meniscus Friday and is expected to be out four to six months.
My Views: DAMN THIS SUCKS! I was seriously hyped for the Blue Bloods reuniting. But alas, it was all for not. This is the risk you run with men his age on the roster, with many miles on their bodies. It looks like the good Squire roughed himself up pretty well as he will be gone for 4-6 months. But all is NOT lost I feel. This is the perfect time for them to bring up Harry Smith to the Smackdown roster. Smith and Regal could tag, doing the same thing as would have been with Taylor, but getting a younger talent over and helping the tag team division. When Taylor is set to come back, you have Regal appalled that he wants to comeback and mocks him for getting injured. At that time, Taylor could return with a teammate of his own. Either Paul Burchill or Steve Lewington. They play off the nationality, they help get younger guys over and they will be working with the guys that will help them improve at a rapid rate. You are also helping the tag division, which needs it. It could work out rather well actually. Get well Squire Dave, I'll miss you!
Your News: WWE has released Ted DiBiase and Tim Horner from their Producer/Agent duties.
My Views: I hate to hear this. To me it is more removing the wrestling from wrestling everyday. Heaven forbid we have wrestling influences on the wrestling show. DiBiase looks to be heading back to the ministry, which will make him happy as well as some wrestling camps; and I figure Horner will be back in the NC/SC Indy scene and doing "Goody's commercials" god bless him. TNA should pick him up as an agent, the guys there could learn a lot from him.
Your News: K-Fed was paid $15,000 per WWE appearance.
My Views: Wow…$30,000 total? The first $15,000 was well paid as they got a ton of mainstream potential, but the second one really didn't do anything. The first appearance was fun, but I was bored with the second. Here is the one thing that I love. WWE does this and it is a "stroke of genius" and the greatest thing ever. If TNA would have done it, it would have been "a waste of money" and the stupidest thing ever. Oh well.
Your News: WWE has signed Eddie Colon, brother to Carlito.
My Views: I was wondering if they would sign him. I had heard that WWE had a lot of interest in him. The other thing I heard is that he has more of a love for wrestling. Apparently Carlito felt he HAD to wrestle but Eddie always wanted to. Others have said he is better than Carlito. Sounds interesting, I just wonder where they will decide to place him.
Your News: WWE has signed Afa Anoia Jr., son of Wild Samoan Afa, after his Deep South tryout.
My Views: SAMOAN POWER! Hell, bring back Rosey and make another Samoan tag team. We need tag teams people! I am curious to see what he is like in the ring, I would suspect he goes to ECW or Smackdown, since we already have a Samoan on Raw. But maybe Raw will become the Samoan Show while Smackdown remains the…KIDDING!
Your News: Claudio Castagnoli looked good in his Deep South tryout last week, and that there is interest in Chris Hero as well after WWE got a tape of one of his matches in the UK.
My Views: I figured that Castagnoli would impress in his tryout. He is big, cut, has the presence in the ring and can work. He's just what WWE looks for really. But never would I have imagined that WWE would be interested in Chris Hero. I have nothing against Hero, but beside the height factor he is not what WWE typically looks for in a wrestler. He isn't naturally big or cut is what I am saying, but apparently they are indeed interested. The Kings of Wrestling, under a different WWE-ized name of course would be a blessing to a company with almost no tag team wrestling. But would they use them the right way is the question?
Your DVD News: Here are the important DVD releases coming from WWE:
**ECW: Extreme Rules - 2 DVD set - Release Date: 1/30/07
"A two-disc compilation that showcases some of the best matches of the return of ECW, as well as vignettes about the newest Extremists. Hosted by Tazz and Joey Styles, ECW: Extreme Rules highlights both the new Extremists (such as Big Show, C.M. Punk, Test, Kevin Thorn, etc.) as well as the ECW Originals (including RVD, Sabu, Sandman, Dreamer, and Balls)."
My Thoughts: I don't have a lot of interest in this one. I would think that they should let the new ECW run a year before churning out a DVD for them. Some bios on Punk and the new guys could be interesting, but this one will fall under the "rental" category for now.
**The New & Improved DX - 3 DVD set - Release Date: 2/20/07
"The New and Improved D-Generation X will be a 3-disc release covering the reformation of the group that includes promos, matches and the chaos the duo of The Game and HBK caused Mr. McMahon."
My Thoughts: So basically I can purchase a 3-DVD set of DX always coming out on top, squashing the Spirit Squad, Cade and Murdoch and all of the handicap matches I can handle? PASS.
**Royal Rumble Anthology - Release Date: 3/13/07
"January 28, 2007 will be the 20th Anniversary of the Royal Rumble. WWE fans have always loved this unique match, and when a WrestleMania championship opportunity sweetened the winner's pot, the Royal Rumble became one of the most important annual events on WWE's calendar. This DVD set will depict, in their entirety, the first 20 Royal Rumbles in a handsome collector's box. The first 12 Royal Rumble events have never been available on DVD."
My Thoughts: Ok, this one needs little explanation. IT SHALL BE MINE.
**Ric Flair & The Four Horsemen - Release Date: 4/10/07
"One of the first, and coolest, factions in sports-entertainment was The Four Horsemen. This multi-disc release will cover the creation of the Horsemen and is filled with exclusive interviews from many of the Superstars who were part of this groundbreaking group as well as rivalry highlights and complete matches."
My Thoughts: Ok, this one needs little explanation. IT SHALL BE MINE.
**Great Families of Wrestling - Release Date: 6/05/07
"Some of the greatest WWE Superstars have come from family legacies that include the names McMahon, Von Erich, Funk, Hart, Guerrero, Orton, Gagne, Colon, DiBiase, Rhodes and more. Relationships and long held secrets from fathers, sons, brothers and grandsons of sports-entertainment will all be explored in the Great Families of Wrestling DVD."
My Thoughts: I love the concept of this DVD. They can do a lot with it, but the question is if they will or now. I am skeptical on this one, and will go with "rental" to start with. Also, no Armstrong love makes me sad.
**The Ladder Match - Release Date: 8/28/07
"Follow the evolution of the Ladder Match and see how it has evolved into one of the most popular matches in WWE today. From the first Ladder Match with Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon at WrestleMania X to the inaugural Money in the Bank Ladder Match that took place at WrestleMania 21, witness why the Ladder Match has become a staple in WWE."
My Thoughts: Ok, I hate that they start with Razor vs. HBK. I really think that the HBK vs. Hart match should appear so that they can do a full look at the WWF/E ladder matches. It may have been Marsico or Melchor, but I agree. The thing that will suck as after watching 6-7 ladder matches you're going to not want to watch another one for a while. Definite rental here and I may pick it up just to have all of those matches on one DVD.
**Rey Mysterio: The Biggest Little Man - Release Date: 10/23/07
"Relive some of the Rey Mysterio's classic rivalries with Superstars like Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle, Mark Henry, Randy Orton, JBL, Chris Benoit. Also, Rey Mysterio: The Biggest Little Man will showcase some of the high-flying Superstar's most memorable tag team matches with partners RVD, Eddie Guerrero and Batista."
My Thoughts: Gay title. Sounds like I can watch Rey's entire run as bitch to the roster champion. Joy. Like the DX DVD, I think I will PASS.
**John Cena: This Is My Life - Release Date: 11/06/07
"John Cena is more than just a WWE Champion. In 2005, Cena released his highly successful debut CD, "You Can't See Me" and in 2006 he starred in his first major motion picture, The Marine. Cena has reached the next level of Superstardom, and John Cena: My Life will chronicle his meteoric rise to the top of the sports-entertainment world with highlights from his biggest matches and exclusive interviews."
My Thoughts: Cena's second DVD already? I like the guy, but I have no motivation to buy DVD's of his "career" thus far. PASS.
**Steve Austin's Life and Legacy - Release Date: 11/20/07
"A career-spanning retrospective of the Rattlesnake that highlights Austin's amazing career and his legendary rivalries with Bret Hart, The Rock, Mick Foley, Triple H, Kurt Angle, Undertaker, Kane, Scott Hall, Eddie Guerrero and more. Stone Cold Steve Austin's Life and Legacy will also include footage and matches from WCW, ECW, and his Smokey Mountain days."
My Thoughts: While there have been tons of Austin releases, this one seems to be the full "career" DVD for him. That peaks my interest, but doesn't open my wallet. I will RENT this one hoping that it is the release that many Austin fans have been waiting for.
…Intermission…
LINKS for the needy~!
Give Randle a read. He's not as good am I am, but who is?
JT: The whole Judy Garland thing kinda turned me on. Does that make me some kind of fag?
Larry: Yes, yes it does.
…AND I'M BAAAAAAACK!…
TNA stories, scuttlebutt and rumors:
Your News: Impact did another 0.8 rating last night. Going head-to-head with the World Series (which did a 10.7 and drew over 16 million viewers) probably hurt a bit, but TNA can't be happy that Kurt Angle has yet to cause any increase in the ratings.
My Views: Obviously TNA cannot be happy about the ratings. Here is the deal, the fact is that TNA is the bottom of the totem pole. AT the World Series a bunch of TNA guys went to game 1. A lot of former WCW guys were there. People recognized them and asked, "Where have you guys been?" These fans that knew who they were didn't know they were wrestling, let alone knew there was a TNA PPV in their city! The move to prime time SHOULD help and the ratings COULD improve, but they need a better media promotion for people to realize them. While ratings are something to look at I still contend that the main thing to look at is the PPV buy rates. If Joe vs. Angle does the normal 40,000 PPV buys then that is the bad thing. If they get a good bump and can play off of that, along with the prime time move then they could improve. Let's wait and see.
Your News: Dixie Carter spent a lot of time at the Bound for Glory fan-fest with TNA fans. Carter thanked fans, welcomed them to the event and asked what they liked and disliked about the TNA product. Many feel that she is a great ambassador for the promotion.
My Views: This is a smart move for Carter. She has to come off as friendly in these things. TNA needs all of the positive buzz they can get.
Your News: Midway Games was also at the Impact Zone on Monday, scanning TNA's roster for the upcoming TNA video game. A lot of crowd footage was shot by TNA at the Impact taping last night for the game as well. TNA specifically wanted the Impact Zone crowd used as the basis for the game. A lot of the wrestlers were shown the AJ Styles rendering for the game and were very impressed.
My Views: Sounds cool to me. The Impact Zone is a huge part of TNA and they should use it for the game. I am excited to see the game when it is done.
Your News: SpikeTV had a crew in Orlando on Monday during TNA's "day off," filming interviews with wrestlers and footage for the 11/16 Impact primetime debut and Impact could have a new opening on that day as well.
My Views: This is smart to get stuff prepared ahead of time for the special. This has to come off really well and without problems in hopes of gaining new viewers. TNA's other 2-hour special was a good one, and I have high hopes for this one.
Your News: Olympic Gold medalist and former heavyweight champion Kurt Angle has been added to the cards for upcoming TNA/UWF live events November 10 in Philadelphia, PA and November 11 in East Hartford, CT. Angle will wrestle "The Monster" Abyss at both events!
My Views: Wow….nothing like starting him off slowly. I hope he is ready for this because these will be physical matches. I am actually looking forward to them to see what he and Abyss can pull off.
Your News: Bound For Glory did end up selling out. The number TNA is stating is 4,400 fans, although the actual attendance may have been slightly less. Everyone in TNA is considering this a great number, especially considering that the World Series was going on nearby.
My Views: Good news here. I really hope that they explore more outside venues for next year, at least 4-outside PPV's would be a good start, especially since they are upping the house shows to right around 50, from the 25 they are doing this year.
Your News: Jim Cornette will be taking two months off from wrestling after the 11/4 ROH show. The only exceptions will be the November and December TNA PPV's and Impact tapings the next night. Cornette has been working since September despite being very sick.
My Views: I am glad to hear that Cornette will be taking some time off. There is no need to risk his health at this point in his life. It is also good that he will work the TNA PPV's and taping right afterwards to keep him fresh in everyone's minds. Let's all hope he recovers and is back to the same old Cornette we love!
Your News: Lance Storm has an interesting commentary up where he totally rips up TNA booking and highlights many obvious gaps in logic when it comes to their stories.
My Views: You know what is funny? When Lance Storm writes stuff about WWE that is similar to this, he's a bitter ex-employee and has no right. But when he writes it about TNA he is a knowledgeable veteran who knows his shit. I am not knocking Storm, I agree with most of what he wrote. Hell, I write a lot of the same shit about some of the things. That was another great email I got, telling me to open up and write some stuff like Storm. I have, you just need to look, and it isn't hard to find with as much as a write.
Everything else that needs covering…
Your News: Smothers' girlfriend posted the following message at wrestlingclassics.com, regarding all of the drams between her and Tracy the last few days.
"The case is now being dealt with by mental health services. The charges will be dropped if Tracy goes though with getting the help that he needs. He has had 30 plus concussions and being around the wrestling business for 23 years makes it a little hard for him to deal with reality. That results in him being sick almost every morning, irrational mood swings and violent tendencies. I filed the charges in an attempt to get him the help that he desperately needs. He lost his health insurance while in the UK. The neurologist told him he should have gotten out of the ring 10 years ago due to the amount of brain damage he has suffered. He has not done any steroids since the issue last year. When that occurred he had just come off a cycle in hopes of getting hired by the WWE after the ECW PPV. The last cycle almost killed him and made him violent."
My Views: This is a scary tale to hear. If Smothers is this bad off, I hope he gets the help he needs and retires so that no further damage is done. This could be a precautionary tale for others.
Your News: Korean Wrestling Legend Kim Ill (also known as Kintaro Oki) passed away at noon Thursday, Korean time, at the age of 77. He had been battling health issues for the last decade, battling heart problems, diabetes and high blood pressure.
Kim Ill was a contemporary star with Giant Baba and Antonio Inoki in Japan as he began with them in the 1960's. Through the 60's and 70's he main evented several shows with the two as they all came to prominence during this time. Kim Ill also was the WWA World Heavyweight Champion in the United States.
When wrestling in South Korea peaked in the 1970's, he was the big star and one of very few wrestlers who scored a clean pin on Inoki in a New Japan main event singles match.
My Views: The man known as the master of the head butt passed away this week, and we lose another legend in the business. Any man known as a contemporary to Inoki and Baba is a huge deal in the business, and it is sad that he lived the last 10-years or so of his life battling heart problems, diabetes and high blood pressure. He did make it to 77, which in this business is a long life. I hope his family, friends and fans cope with his death well and remember him for the good times he provided through out his life and career.
Your News: WSX has confirmed that Dragon Gate stars Masato Yoshino and Genki Horiguchi, British star Steven Lyndon, and CZW star Ruckus are booked for the Wrestling Society X debut TV tapings. Also confirmed for the tapings are Vampiro, Sean Waltman, Jack Evans, Matt Sydal, Lizzy Valentine, Teddy Hart, and The Human Tornado.
My Views: I still say that this should could end up being entertaining. We have some International talent, guys like Sydal and Evens that will do wild shit in the ring, head cases like Waltman and Hart as well as the comedy of the Human Tornado. This could be a really fun 30-minute show.

From Jeff on one of my latest reviews -
Thanks for this little review. I actually bought it off eBay about six years ago just for the Hart/HBK ladder match, which I dug a lot. I think you underrated Razor/Kid a bit though.
Now that you've done this tape, I think you should recap WWF Smack 'Em Whack 'Em which has not just Bret/HBK ladder, but Flair/Hart in Canada. A couple other decent ones on there. Great work as usual.
If anything I underrated the hart/HBK ladder match I feel. As for the "Smack 'Em Whack 'Em" tape, JD Dunn has that reviewed and you'll be able to read it in the coming weeks. Glad you enjoyed the review.
From Faust on Cyber Sunday -
Love the T3R's column. I read it every week like a mark. I don't always agree with your points, but it's a great column and I wanted to give ya props. While I'm at it, let me bitch about Cyber Sunday.....
Seriously, have they given us anything to care about voting for? Does it matter who refs the main event? Looks like they are pushing for Bischoff. It is obvious they want Cena's belt on the line. It looks like they want us to vote for Dusty as Flair's partner as they played his music after the faces beat down the Spirit Squad on RAW. Does it matter who Umaga faces? Benoit would be interesting, but would they have him go over? The IC is the only vote that seems interesting. It's funny how they left Masters out of the voting, even though he's been involved in the feud. Perhaps he will interfere at the PV since he wasn't on the ballot.
Overall the ballot is stale. Where are the match stipulations???? Maybe their saving that for the Woman's Title Tournament final. Ugh.
Yeah, this PPV seems to not be nearly as interesting as the last 2-years. I really enjoyed those shows, and hopefully thin one will turn out better than it looks as it may. I do agree that overall it is not that exciting looking.
From RC on TNA Ratings -
"- As reported earlier, Impact did a 0.8 rating last week. The highest rated segment of the show was a 0.93 for the opening segment. The Kurt Angle/Samoa Joe confrontation that closed the show drew a .76 rating. [PWTorch.com] "
The thing I wonder is, why is most writers saying that WWE fans have actually become interested in TNA because of Angle. So they are checking TNA out to watch Angle and perhaps they will check out who this Samoa Joe character is on the web.
Doesn't the low rating suggest that almost no new fans tuned in for this episode of impact? Just wondering.
Hopefully they will tune in next week thanks to the buzz.
But the weird thing is that ppl actually tuned out for this segment. Or perhaps the ratings were even lower before this segment and ppl actually tuned in for this segment (although that is not logical I guess given that ppl didn't know this segment was gonna happen).
As I discussed above, you are right, they aren't getting new viewers. They are treading water and that isn't a good thing. BTW, the history of Impact ratings are that the show ALWAYS loses a bit of viewers during the show. This one was actually better than a lot.
From FAH on Harry Smith and Matt Hardy -
With the unfortunate injury to Dave Taylor, Wouldn't now be the perfect to add Harry to the Main Roster and team him with Regal, considering he has that English heritage, and learning from regal would be pretty handy for him...
Plus I've been lucky enough to see Harry live (in Melbourne, Aust), and the boy can go!!!!!
Plus it leads to a singles feud down the line with regal, and is Good for a Face push..
Also, do you think Matt Hardy may finally get a push of some sorts, with Michael Hayes know being head writer???
Agreed on Smith as I discussed above. Harry does have all the tools as I have seen some of his pre-WWE work. I just hope that he gets the chance to prove it on TV.
