Double M’s Rasslin’ Report 11.04.06

Creative can’t come up with anything for Harry Smith? That’s like saying that Hollywood can’t come up with any original movie ideas. Oh, wait...
Back on the streets with my khakis and my scars; nuts full of cavi and I'm headed for the bar. Hiya and aren't you glad another Saturday's here? You know, being the weekend and all? Are you even paying attention to this with that massive hangover you have? Don't worry – I won't tell your mom about the sorority house, the KY, the XL-sized lingerie OR the camel. You can thank me later.
Sine I'm back in charge of (one-third of) the Music Zone, that cuts some of my time down again. Hence, no discussion on anything else here. Intro's over, that's it. Breaks your heart, I know...
Mail Call
One, from Craig McNicoll:
On Puder: Perhaps he's trying to parlay his trashtalk into a job with TNA? It's not exactly a money match but if it gets him a job, what does he care really?
On the Fight For The Right Battle Royale: It's really not as bad as people make it out to be and not nearly as difficult, unless the concept was explained badly. It came off pretty well on TV and the crowd seemed to enjoy it so they apparently had no trouble with it either. My advice, just forget about the rules of the match and enjoy the bigass brawl TNA provided us.
On Puder: There's an angle (no pun intended) that I hadn't actually considered. Granted, it gives TNA a reason to bring him in for a minute since the heat is already built in. He may be on to something here.
On the Fight For The Right Battle Royale (thank God for copy-and-paste): I still haven't seen it. I tried to tape the show last Saturday and it didn't work out (mebbe YouTube has it somewhere?). I'll have to look for it out there, assuming I have that kind of time.
Okay, This Is Boring – What Else Is There To Read?
I see The Sting to my nWo Sting Jeff Farmer (I'll take my 1,000 wrestling nerd points now, thank you very much, Mr. Byers) anticipates Final Fantasy XII and digs on Black Cherry Vanilla Diet Coke. Maybe we have more in common than I thought.
Looks like My Favorite Writer™ was a little rough on the Fight For The Right Battle Royale (once again...), too.
And, due to time constraints, we have only one more pimp – everybody. Of course, that may be kinda pointless because you're already here. You know this is the place to get the latest and the greatest, now you just need to tell your buddies.
The Rest Of The News That's Fit To Post
In direct contrast to last week, I barely have anything to work with this week. Ah, well...
Shockingly, no one has predicted the end of the new ECW with the news that ECW-only house shows will be discontinued until further notice. Everyone seems to be keeping a level head and realizing this is merely a cost-cutting measure. Granted, I can't speak on the intelligence it takes to realize that eliminating non-televised shows that don't draw huge crowds because you took and gutted the promotion that the third (unnecessary) brand you've tried to build and alienated the audience you wanted to covet may be a good idea, but then I don't work in the business. And, as we all know, unless you've worked in the business, you can't understand it. Unless, of course, you have any semblance of logic.
If you follow the same link above, you also find out that Afa Anoia Jr. has been signed to a WWE deal. That makes me happy.
Here's a story putting over Harry Smith, son of "The British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith and how bad he's always wanted to be a pro wrestler WWE Superstar. That, right there, should give them enough creative ammunition to work with as far as getting the guy some airtime. But no...instead, he's relegated to the sidelines because of storyline changes. Ricockulous.
I would have liked the Orton vs. Smith over Brooke Hogan storyline (sick as that sounds) better than what we have going on now, which is that Orton and Edge can't buy a win over two guys that should be putting them over. Regardless, given his pedigree, WWE Creative can't find anything for him to do? That should be somebody's job right there.
And that does it for me. I'll actually be back in 14 days, as I have a few CD reviews to knock out before I have family coming into town for a bit. Until then, be good and be safe.
