The Triple Threat 3.11.07: The 40th Edition
Posted by Sean, David, Alex on 03.11.2007
Man, I can't believe we made it to 40 columns. We talk lots of TNA, ECW getting new titles, Jericho to WWE or TNA, and we continue our Wrestlemania Moments.
Hello everyone, we are one week closer to that faithful day when the stars shine bright in the wrestling world. Things are starting to lineup now and the card is almost full with maybe a few spots left on the grand show of the year in WWE. Before then we have lots of TNA to talk about including: TNA losing the NWA name, possibly getting two hours, Kurt Angle, and we preview the PPV too. Chris Jericho has a spot on the column this week too, and don't are continuing look at Wrestlemania moments as well, all on this the whopping 40th edition of the Triple Threat.
Topic #1 TNA has decided to drop the NWA name and starting Sunday the champion will now be the TNA champion. Is this a bad thing or a good thing for TNA?
David Martell: Well this is both bad and good. Its bad becuase they will have a belt with no credibility at all but it is good because they are seperating themselves from NWA and becoming independent. I have read that they might do something with the NWA belt like they did back in the day of ECW. That would be a really bad idea. I really hate when any wrestling company trys to recreate something good from the past because it is never as good or it is just plain bad. It will be cool that Joe will be the first TNA champion, if he wins. I just hope the belt looks cooler than the X division belt.
Alex Mattis: Well I suppose it was a matter of time before this happened. It is good for TNA that they now have something to call their own. It is bad because they lose the lineage of the NWA titles, LAX and Christian should be honored that they will be retiring the NWA title from TNA. I hope that their new belts look decent, not like the X-Division title, I mean a huge red X, come on. This will be a loss for TNA but now they will officially stand on their own, with their own champions, let's just hope that they make those title's credible. As for the NWA World Title, this guy named Bryan Danielson wants it. This could be so awesome if AmDrag won the NWA title, returns to ROH reclaims his belt their and once again tours the world defending possible the two most prestigious belt in North America. The more I think about it, if Danielson is in line to win the NWA strap, I don't know how this could be a bad thing.
Sean Garmer: Like Alex said this was bound to happen sooner or later. TNA needed to do this to proclaim they were now big time and a separate entity from the old NWA, similar to what WCW did by removing the NWA name from their title. It would have been cool if TNA kept paying the rights but just kept the lineage for their titles, but changed the name anyway to make themselves seem important to the casual audience, while the hardcore audience knows exactly why, with that prestigious lineage. Besides, aside from the lineage it's not like TNA lost a lot here, the NWA name has little relevance to the mainstream fans of today. Yeah the hardcore crowd is infatuated with all the history and what not, but anyone that is new watching TNA is not going to give two cents about the NWA. The only risk they run now is having ugly looking titles (personally, I never liked the look of the old NWA belt, the one WCW had that is now the World Title in WWE was always the better looking version, to me.) That's great that the NWA is considering giving the NWA belt to the best available independent wrestler, American Dragon deserves it and will defend it with honor so that it can attain world title status once again. Whether it is Samoa Joe or Christian that become the first ever TNA champion, TNA itself should be honored to have two greats like these to even be their first champion. I hope that LAX are the first TNA tag champions as it would be a shame for 3D to win them after how past it they are. Yeah you lose some prestige but in the end, TNA needed this.
Topic #2 Dusty Rhodes is now writing for ECW. He is apparently clamoring for there to be ECW tag titles. So should WWE give ECW tag titles or a secondary singles title?
David Martell: I like the fact that Dusty is writing for ECW now because he could really help the show but the idea of having tag titles is not good at all. First of all there is like no tag teams in ECW. Second, it would be a hell of a lot better for the show in general to have a secondary title so that there can be more storylines and give a chance for the newer, younger guys to get their names out. We will see what happens.
Alex Mattis: Dusty with the book? *Sigh* I don't remember liking much of anything he did when he was the booker for TNA in early 2005, and with ECW already in shambles I don't think he is going to make the product much better. Tag titles? The WWE doesn't even have a legit tag division on any of their shows; no wrestling TV show has good tag wrestling right now, which is a shame, If we can mesh "brands" for PPV matches then why not for TV matches? Put all the tag teams on one show, all the women on one show, all the cruiserweights on one show etc, back to the original question, ECW does need another title, what the hell? are the people on the mid-card working for if there isn't a "TV title" or something along those lines?
Sean Garmer: Dusty was a great performer and one of the greatest on the microphone. Yeah some may say his booking is suspect but he usually will do more good for you then bad. I think he works best when he has other good writers alongside him, such as on SmackDown with Michael Hayes. ECW has been better the past few weeks, but Vince's presence on the show has taken away from wrestling some, but hey, WWE needs to do everything they can to make the big bucks for Mania. Honestly, this question may have little relevance in a few months, if ECW doesn't make it. I think I have to agree with my comrades here that tag titles would be silly at this point, since they only have one real tag team, and the other La Resistance is in limbo. Even with makeshift tag teams it would still look dumb for the whole show where everybody is in a tag team except whoever is facing Lashley that month. The only way this would work is not like Alex said to put all the tag teams on one show. They should however, have all the women that can wrestle on RAW though. Anywho, that's another story for another topic, I've said this many times and I'm going to say it again. Since the brand extension is pretty much a novelty at this point, why not combine the two tag titles and you keep the World Tag Titles because they have the big lineage. Then it's London & Kendrick, Whoever WWE has Cena & HBK lose the belts to whether it be World's Greatest Tag Team or Cryme Tyme, and then throw in either La Resistance or FBI from ECW and you have the big tag at Wrestlemania. It would be a good match, the titles would go to all shows, which would solve the problem, and not kill ECW single's talent in the process.
Topic #3 WWE wants Chris Jericho back around September. TNA also wants to sign Y2J, where should Jericho go?
David Martell: I would much rather see Jericho back in WWE then going to TNA. There is absolutely no more room on the TNA Impact cluster fuck to have another big star head lining. This would give all the young guys no chance of being on TV at all and this could cause people to leave the company. It would be better for Jericho to be on a show where he can be showcased and help younger talent at the same time. He would also receive a bigger paycheck if that is what he is looking for.
Alex Mattis: He needs to come back I say this because, besides him being an all time favorite of mine, I don't want people to remember the last thing Chris Jericho did in wrestling was beg Eric Bischoff not to fire him. It pissed me off so much, after all he did for them, that's how they are going to say goodbye to him. I wouldn't complain if he went to TNA, but it would just be TNA fucking themselves up even more. Christian and Kurt Angle are some of the best around today, but TNA had put ALOT of time in Monty Brown and when Christian came in, just because he was from the WWE, they put him in Monty's spot. I also feel like Joe was derailed when Angle came into the picture. So if Jericho came to TNA, I feel like other homegrown talent would be pushed to the back, and I wouldn't be keen on that. The big question is how much ring rust Y2J would have. Whatever the case, I want to see him back. As crazy as it sounds, for the sake of TNA, WWE might be a better choice for the Ayatollah of Rock N' Rolla.
Sean Garmer: There is no question that Jericho should head back to WWE. Actually Alex, I read an interview with Jericho where he wanted to go out the way he did on RAW, with the your fired match. As a "I'm going out on my back" type deal. Besides at the time, it wasn't for sure if he was leaving or not. He still had not made up his mind completely. I find it funny when people try to blame WWE for things, when in this case it wasn't their fault. If Jericho wants to be in the limelight with other WWE superstars along with some young talent then he can go to TNA and work an easier schedule, and, also probably still play with his band when he wanted. Not to mention it would add another ex-WWE champion to the TNA roster and Russo would push him to the forefront because that's how TNA does things. If Jericho wants more money and being with people he knows he should go to WWE. There are more opportunities for him in WWE because the fans miss him and I think he would rise pretty quickly into the main picture once again, without killing talent like he would in TNA. Also, the flexibility that Jericho brings as far as character goes helps him, because WWE can use him as a face or heel to wrestle anyone they want. It would sure make for interesting matches on RAW where they are in need of a few more guys. There are endless possibilities for Jericho in WWE and his best option is to go there. If he goes to TNA sure he might pop a rating for a month or so, and we might see classics with wrestlers he's never gotten in the ring with, but in the end, it won't change TNA much. It's the same as the RVD situation, Jericho has a following, but it is still not considered a major signing by TNA and we aren't going to see a grand movement of fans. Obviously, if TNA still can't get out of the 1.0 to 1.2 ratings and low PPV buyrate rut that they are in, why should Jericho waste his time going there? Besides, he should know Russo can't be trusted, he's done nothing but screw-up TNA since he's arrived. Ultimately, it's Jericho's decision, and whatever he chooses he will probably be happy. There are opportunities in both places, both I find more faults in the TNA plan than WWE's.
Topic #4 Kurt Angle is under investigation for steroid use. Angle says he had a prescription for those and that the police are investigating him under false charges. Whether they were legal or not, is it something we should care about that he's taking steroids?
David Martell: Well just because he was taking steroids then doesnt mean he is taking them now, but who knows. I hope this works out for the best for Angle but he has gone insane so who knows what he has done.
Alex Mattis: I'm not going to lose much sleep on this one. It was a while ago, and I thought it was implied when Angle left the E that there were several "substance problems." Maybe I misinterpreted that, but if need be he can just start crying and say "Vince made me do it," Vince said "all the cool wrestlers were doing it."
Sean Garmer: Wrestlers have used steroids for ages and it is not really anything new. Since this isn't a real sport in the fact that there are tons of injuries, but it is not a real competition, most fans don't care that they do use steroids, all it does is make their bodies get bigger right? Well actually, I am a concerned fan because I care about what happens to people in general. Steroids are used to treat medical issues, but they also have some bad sideffects if abused that can lead to some problems later on in life. Especially, using these pills mixed with alcohol or drugs, can lead to a short life such as the late great Eddie Guerrero's. That's why I'm happy WWE has this wellness policy because it is for the betterment of the wrestlers, their family, and the industry in general. It might keep aspiring wrestlers that are starting out young, from wanting to abuse the drugs, just to get big because they feel they can't get anywhere if they aren't. I hope Angle's were legal, but the best thing is I hope he's off them now for the sake of himself and his family. Oh and Alex, that's a great thing to teach someone, make excuses for bad actions that you take. Vince didn't make him take them and if he did it because of everyone else, isn't that his fault in the first place.
Wrestlemania Moment of the Week: Up until Wrestlemania we will take the time every column to retell of a Wrestlemania moment that was cool to us.
David Martell: At Wrestlemania 22 i was hoping for a match of the year with the Orton vs. Rey vs. Angle match. I was also hoping that Orton would finally get another chance at the belt. Little did I know that they would make the match only 9 minutes long. What a disappointment, plus Rey won...bleh.
Alex Mattis: One of the most underrated matches in WrestleMania history took place at WrestleMania VII, it may not have been the Angle-Benoit classic that would be seen a decade later, but it had drama, told a great story, and has two of the biggest names the business had seen, up until that point. I'm talking about the Ultimate Warrior Vs. Randy Savage in the "Career Vs. Career" Match. It is interesting that this match is hardly ever mentioned when talking about WM history because both men have pretty much been forgotten by the E, due to the ways their relationships with the company ended. But to discredit this match would be very wrong. For those who haven't seen this match I highly recommend it. Possibly Warrior's best match ever, I know "that's not saying much," but he really delivered in this one. Something memorable from this one was that Warrior sauntered to the ring, up until that point he would bolt to the ring going 382 MPH, it really helped to build the seriousness of the match. Like I fore mentioned, the match was solid, these two gave each other everything that had but kept kicking out, Savage gave Warrior 4 elbows drops and Warrior kicked out, which was unheard of at that time. Warrior didn't do his whole "Warrioin' Up" bit either, this match made his seem human. The end of the match was picture perfect; with Warrior finally get the 3-count while standing over the then "Macho King" sending him into retirement for all of 6 months or so. But anyway, if you haven't seen this one yet, it is a gem. I never thought I would say anything involved Jim Helwig was a gem, but this match is just that.
Sean Garmer: It did suck that the match at Mania 22 was short, but Rey winning made it an awesome night. It's great to know Alex and I share very similar opinions of the Wrestlemania VII match between Macho vs. Warrior. I think I did one on that match the 2nd week we did this thing. My moment this week goes to the tide turner that happened at Wrestlemania 13 between Bret Hart and Steve Austin. It is still seen today as one of the greatest matches in wrestling history and led the charge for Stone Cold to be a big star. Oh, how I hated whiny Bret, I was pulling for Austin in this one, especially since I was an HBK fan his arch nemesis had to go down. They picked the best special ref as it added to the realism because he could handle anything that went down in the match. I loved how even though this wasn't the main event, they made it seem like it was a big deal. With Stone Cold getting to go through the big panel of Austin 3:16 glass and Bret getting fireworks, what isn't there to say about the match. It still stands as one of the greatest matches ever and for sure top 5 in Wrestlemania history. It was a brawl all the way through, they even went into the crowd to start out. Then Bret started working hard on Austin's leg, even doing a figure four on the ring post. Then Austin turned the tied with some chairshots, and he started taking control of the match-up with a variety of moves including a Boston Crab. Then things took another turn when Austin tried to apply the Sharpshooter on Bret and failed. Bret throws Austin into the railing and Austin is busted wide open. After that it becomes a blur of Bret taking out Austin at every turn and continuing to work on that leg as well. Bret tries once to put on the Sharpshooter but Austin counters it. Austin goes on one more run that includes a Superplex. He goes to choke out Bret with a cable but Bret is smarter and uses the ring bell to pop Austin in the head. This allows Bret to lock in the Sharpshooter. Austin try as he might is unable to break it, and then collapses from the blood loss. What an awesome ending, and Austin never quit. This is the match that finally turned the fans to liking Austin and the rest is history. As J.R. said early in the match "There really is no winner here" well he was right in a sense, because these are career shortening matches, but it provided a great victory for Austin in the long run.
Topic #6 TNA's contract with Spike comes up in the fall. There is talk that either TNA is going to stay on Thursdays with one hour of TV, or possibly get moved to Wednesday with two hours. Should TNA stay with Spike and deal with their indecisiveness? Or move to another network?
David Martell: TNA should stay with Spike TV because I doubt that another network as big as Spike would pick them up to be honest with you. I would also hope that they do get that 2 hour timeslot on Wednesdays just because of the extra hour.
Alex Mattis: My faith for TNA dwindles by that day, I keep telling myself if they get two hours things will turn around, and I believe that, so they need to do what they can to get a two hour spot. Spike is happy with the ratings TNA pulls in, as they should be. I don't know if moving to another network is a good idea, but we'll just have to see how things play out.
Sean Garmer: Well obviously TNA is going to want to end up on Wednesday nights for that 2nd hour, and that wouldn't be a bad night seeing as not much comes on network that's big. However, that's not typically a wrestling night, but I think TNA could get the fans acclimated to it. You never know what could happen because there probably would be less people going out that night and what not. 2 hours would be great for them, but in my opinion I would try to test the waters too, just to see who would give you a TV deal aside from the crappy Spike TV channel. If a better TV channel offers I'd take it.
Topic # 7 TNA does have a PPV this weekend called Destination X. What do you think of the card?
David Martell: This PPV doesn't look good at all to me and from what I see there are only five matches, what's up with that? The only match that interests me at all is the Joe vs. Christian match other than that I don't care for the rest of the card. The Elevation X match is retarded and someone could seriously get hurt. The whole match just might be them holding each other so they wont fall down. The last rites match is also nothing special. Sabian vs. Lynn could be alright but I heard that the last time they fought it was really boring. One last thing, I hate Steiner wrestling I really think he lost all of his ability and I would only expect belly to belly suplex's and maybe a T bone when he messes up.
Alex Mattis: Could this PPV be worse than Against All Odds? It may be. With a staggering 5 gimmick matches, 6 if you consider 2 out of 3 falls a gimmick, this one will be so totally reeking of Russo. The two feature match SHOULD be excellent though. Angle is possibly on the top of his in-ring game right now, and Steiner has a track record of delivering in big matches in his TNA run (EX: Vs. Samoa Joe) so I think many, and David, will be surprised at how well this match could turn out. Christian Cage Vs. Samoa Joe on paper looks amazing, let's see how TNA will manage to mess it up. Sting-Abyss comes to a very fortunate end at Destination X, for a feud that started so well and with so much potential, I can't wait for the final bell to ring in this one. I don't care what everyone else thinks; I found their match at Genesis to be very entertaining and was looking forward to how good the feud could have been. The idea of Sting "becoming the thing he hates" to defeat Abyss, I thought was awesome, but then we had to find out the Abyss shot his dad. You know, the past is past, why bring it up now? Can you see it just makes him mad? But I guess Sting just need to know why. Since then Sting stole Abyss mask, forcing Abyss to get a red mask making him look like a COMPLETE Kane circa 1998 rip-off. Sting then thought he was removing the devil from Abyss' life when he took out James Mitchell with whatever he did to "take him out." And now Pastor Borden looks to compel Abyss with the power of Christ in a "Last Rites" match. Whatever. The rest of the card looks mediocre at best. I so nervous about the Elevation X match, that plank is so narrow, I just hope everything goes as planned and no one gets really fucked up. After this I don't really care if we see that match again.
Sean Garmer: Well I don't watch TNA since Russo is screwing it up. Joe vs. Christian could be one heck of a match-up. Elevation X looks really dangerous and I'm scared for AJ & Rhyno because they could hurt if they fall off that thing wrong. Alex has got ya covered with the rest but be sure to enjoy the PPV though.
Match of the Week Nominees: Shawn Michaels vs. Randy Orton (RAW), RVD vs. Elijah Burke (ECW), King Booker vs. Matt Hardy (SmackDown).
David Martell: HBK vs. Randy Orton
Alex Mattis: None
Sean Garmer: HBK vs. Randy Orton

Now! Time for Feedback
The first one today comes from Tanner Pruitt He talks about MITB and Morishima.
I just wanted to speak my mind on a couple of topics that you talked about.
1) The Money in the Bank match. I think that this match speaks volumes about what WWE wants to do with CM Punk. He is the ONLY ECW rep in the match, which may or may not be a good thing. The crowd is going to back-up Punk on this one, either because: A) There WILL be ROH fans in the building. We are in Detroit, afterall. (they're always there when WWE comes to the mid-west or up-north), or B) He's garnered sooooo many new fans with a style and charisma they've never seen.
As for the Hardys, I believe that BOTH of them DO have a place in the match. We all know that the 'E wants this match to be wreckless and exciting, and they believe that the Hardys are the ones for the job. I'll even go as far as saying that this match was the the reason they hired Jeff Hardy! Contrary to most internet fans beliefs, I don't believe the Hardys will dissapoint. Case and Point: Armageddon '06.
Randy Orton winning the MITB? I'll say this is might be a long-shot. It seems as though the WWE is trying to build-up to and Edge/Orton program, his only use in this match would be to act like a tool when Edge finally betrays him. This, in my mind, is the only way I see Orton even being involved! I would much rather see Benoit, Shelton, Nitro, Carlito, Sabu, RVD, or even a mystery guest (Y2J, perhaps???) than Orton. But who knows, he may surprise us all!!!
I also predict that at WM23, the Hardys will finally be reunited and find a new home at SD!. SD! has a great tag division that could benefit from the Hardys being there.
The winner: I'm gunna say CM Punk or Kennedy. It seems as though everyone in this match has something going on. With the Hardys reuniting (fingers crossed) and Edge betraying Orton, I can only see it coming down to those two. In the end, I'll go with Punk. Allowing Punk to win this match can finally get Punk off of the ECW roster and into the big leagues, and I think that is what the WWE wants from Punk right now.
2) Takeshi Morishima. I'm suprised you guys don't know much about this guy!!! He's basically NOAH's Samoa Joe w/o as much charisma or the cool, flashy judo techniques. He's a BIG MAN! ROH can benefit from one.
This, for what it's worth, is a good move for ROH. With ROH's continuous and expanding relations between all of these Japanese, it's in good taste to give the title to one of their up-and-comers. ROH is really pimping this guy as a super-power, a big, scary, monster from the far east. I could easily compare him to Nikolai Volkoff coming in to the WWWF.
Expect a long title run that will rival Joe's and Dragon's. Somewhere around 10-15 months.
ROH really gets it's moneys worth out of this one b/c not only are they pimping their relationship with foriegn companies, they will also eventually be able to really pimp the guy who takes the title from him. I see this as a launching pad for somebody to become an instant ROH Icon.
Expected contenders to take the title off of Morishima: Colt Cabana, BJ Whitmer, Chris Hero (it could happen), KENTA, Marufuji, Roderick Strong, a returning Bryan Danielson (the original plan for the Homocide reign was to give it back to Danielson, then he injured his shoulder and there was a change of plans. This is why Morishima was put over as champion. This is the most likely plan.)
Thanks for reading this and keep the articles comin',
Tanner
David Martell: First of all thanks for the feedback, I love it and I hope that more of the readers would send us feeback, so thank you. Ok, on to the topic.
MITB: The MITB match is really looking good this year because they are giving wrestlers who have no storylines a chance to shine. I think the reason why they have CM Punk as the only ECW guy in this match is because everyone else is in the New Breed vs. Original fueds and that he is the only one who is standing out other than Lashley. I expect CM Punk to get, maybe, the biggest pop of his life. This could be the match that starts the CM Punks reign to stardom. Everyone knows he has all the potential to become and impact player for WWE and lets hope that WWE will see after this match how much potential he really has. I also believe that both Hardys have a place in this match but I don't think Edge and Orton do mainly for the fact that it would be more entertaining if they had a singles match. Instead of having Orton and Edge they could have Nitro, Shelton, Haas or Super Crazy. This is going to be an exciting match to watch we will just have to see what happens.
Takeshi Morishima: Theres a reason why I don't know this guy and thats the fact that I work all the damn time! I guess thats not too good of an excuse. To be honest with you before I met Alex i didnt know much about wrestlers outside of the WWE and over the last year I have looked outside the box. Thats why when we have topics about RoH and Japan promotions I usually leave the talking to Alex. I am learning more every time me and Alex get the chance to talk wrestling. So forgive me for not knowing the guy. I hope for RoH this is a good move, big guys who can wrestle are always a plus. Once again thanks for your feedback.
Alex Mattis: I find your take on the MITB very interesting, and I hope that Punk wins I just don't see it happening. I really don't know who's going to take it. I'm more optimistic about Orton than your are, I think he or Kennedy will take it, but still hoping that the E's booking team will shock me and Punk will win.
Morishima:
I've been watching more and more of him, most recently, his match with Misawa. I don't care for him but hey that's just me. I expect his title reign to be 6 Months maximum. The 10-15 month reign you speak of sounds ridiculous to me, but it could happen. I see Danielson winning it back, but I'm glad to see Chris Hero is a candidate to win it in your mind; he is saving ROH just like he did CZW...one belt at a time.
Sean Garmer: Wow, I'm happy to see everybody responding to the feedback, maybe that will help get us more of it. Thanks Tanner for the feedback and it's nice to see a new face in our inbox from time to time. Anyway, let's get to what you were talking about. Well you also have to think about it like this, CM Punk is the only ECW guy in the match because all the other ones that WWE would have put in the match are involved in the New Breed vs. ECW Originals storyline. I'm very happy that WWE is loving CM Punk even though he's been in and out of the doghouse. Who knows he could win and he will for sure have the crowd behind him. The Hardyz do bring that wreckless thing about them, but the only reason I objected to it, is that I believe that everyone that is placed in the MITB should be seeing as having a chance at winning. If the Hardyz are together they aren't going to put one over the other in this match. They do have a place to bring the crazy stuff like you said. I agree with you that Randy Orton is not going to win the MITB because he doesn't need it to prove he should be in the main event, he's already seen as a main player. Also like I said last week EDGE & Orton will probably go into a single's feud soon and this match will be the final catalyst. Booker and Finlay will probably cancel each other out, so Punk and Kennedy are left. Kennedy has been getting the bigger push and he's probably going to win.
As far as Morishima goes, I don't watch much indy stuff because I'm not that big of a fan anymore, for religious purposes. So sorry that I don't know about this guy, and I'm not going to research and do like some people do, and act like I know tons about the guy. When in reality, I've never seen one match in which he competed. I hope he works out for ROH, and I'll be excited to see Chris Hero and American Dragon take that belt back, cause they are truly awesome wrestlers.
Another one comes from our #1 fan Jeremy Robertson He's upset at Alex for his comments about Brock Lesnar last week.
Alex, what the hell? I don't wanna hear anything about Lesnar's Shooting Star Press, especially from you. Your opinion of one of what could have been one of the greatest wrestlers ever is way off mark. Brock had the strength, speed, size and agility to make it in wrestling. I mean, he technically DID make it, he was just dumb and tried to play football. But what of it? Sure he gave us one of the most horrible matches in the history of the WWE (which was completely Goldberg's fault in my humble opinion). If you've seen the SSP that he did in OVW you'd know he is more than capable of pulling it off, moron. He botched one move. Look at Billy Kidman, I'm pretty sure he was told not to use the move, his special by the way, because he kept injuring people. So get off his back or your neck will be the one being snapped like a twig.
David Martell: HaHaHa! Jeremy you tell him.
Alex Mattis: 1. I didn't question any of Lesnar's abilities.
2. I DID say that I saw the tapes from OVW when he hit it.
3. It is a WrestleMania moment, that's a fact, otherwise they wouldn't replay and such.
4. He is just as much to blame as Goldberg is for the WM XX match; neither man gave a shit about that match.
5. I don't know why you're comparing him to Billy Kidman, I didn't. Kidman had the worst SSP ever; it was sloppy, dangerous, and looked like shit.
6. Lesnar didn't "make it" he was given the biggest push anyone in the history of professional wrestling had been given, if someone can prove me wrong please do. The fans had no choice but to get him over. Was Lesnar good? Yes very. Did he have to whole package? No, couldn't do a promo, and while he was good, he was still somewhat green, even when he left. Fact of the matter is, he could been a great star, not like Stone Cold or The Rock, but still a big star, but he quit, plain and simple. Is the shooting star botch a WrestleMania Moment? Yes, it is, and that's why I wrote about it in the "WrestleMania Moments" section of the column.
Sean Garmer: Hey Jeremy, how have things been? Well anyway, as much as I love ya man, I gotta agree with Alex on this one. It is a Wrestlemania moment that gets a Wrestlemania Recall every year, not only because of the botch, but, because of the concussion he suffered, that shows why wrestling is a dangerous art form. That match actually ended up great and will live in Brock's memory forever because he ended up winning the belt that night at Wrestlemania XIX, and defeated one of the best that ever lived in Kurt Angle (your other favorite). Very few can say they won or defended the belt at the biggest show of them all. As far as the Wrestlemania XX match goes, they show that on recall to take potshots at Goldberg and Lesnar, which are very deserving in my opinion. Brock quit because he couldn't take the road schedule, and wussed out, even after getting his own private plane. What does that say about the man? That he may have had all this talent, potential, and great amateur skill but he didn't have the #1 thing it takes, that's heart brother. As Alex said he couldn't cut a promo, but he didn't need to because he looked like a monster. Lesnar got some major gains in his run, but there was no doubt he was good. You know who gets to reap the benefits now? Bobby Lashley. If WWE let him use a little more of those amateur skills he could be ten times better than Brock. Lashley is an American hero as well as a great amateur man, that similar to Lesnar can't cut a promo, but he looks like he kick your butt. However, Lashley has slowly improved and he shows that he cares and wants to be there, which is what matters the most. I know you love Lesnar, but in the annals of time, he may be forgotten.
Lastly its our loyal follower John Bryant Bateman who has a dream match for us.
Sorry guys I didn't mean to blast the heck out of ya mailbox with so much feedback these past few days just kiddin. anyway these are the matches I have thought up.: and I want you to pick one out of these 3: Dean Malenko vs Alex Shelley vs Danielson in a 3-way Elimination match under Pure Rules, Mistico vs Mysterio and finally: This last one is an either/or. Alex Shelley vs Gregory Helms or Alex Shelley vs Owen Hart. infact if ya guys could, get Csonka or someone to pick.
Sean Garmer: Hey Johnny, hope everything is going well for you. You sent this in a little too late for David and Alex to answer this. I choose a match I hope we get to see in the near future. Even though, Mistico probably won't be in WWE anytime soon because of a five year deal he signed with CMLL that he forgot to tell WWE he signed. WWE are willing to negotiate but CMLL ain't moving on it. This is Wrestlemania caliber if I ever saw it. Lucha at it's finest I think Mysterio would get the win after a big exchange and hitting the West Coast Pop. Thanks for the feedback as always man.
