Since you mentioned it, I thought I'd ask. What would you say are some of the worst feud ideas ever? I'm not necessarily asking for a full top (bottom?) ten list or anything, but I'm still curious.
-Will
I wasn't talking about bad feuds, but bad premises to have a feud. The worst feud starter of all time was Booker T vs. Edge over who got to star in a Japanese shampoo commercial with Tajiri as a tagalong. Considering Booker T is a black man with dreadlocks and Edge is a Caucasian with Farrah hair, I don't think they're using the same type of shampoo anyway. Just about any late nineties feud with the Big Bossman was horrible, like him dragging around Big Show's dad's casket and cooking Al Snow's dog and feeding it to him. They're Shakespearean to be sure, but lame in execution. The whole Katie Vick angle, of course. Not just in execution, but how it totally changed the established history of the Kane character. Just about any of the WCW angles involving celebrities, like Rick Steiner vs. Chucky the Evil Doll or DDP teaming with Jay Leno to face Hogan and Bischoff. Cactus Jack getting destroyed by Vader was good, but then Jack getting amnesia and moving to Cleveland was stupid. ‘You totally kicked my ass' is a fine enough start for a feud, not ‘you gave me amnesia and I moved to Cleveland where I thought I was a sailor.' Give me a good old ‘my full nelson is better than your full nelson' feud any day.

-WWE.com posted a small blurb yesterday stating that action had been taken against Randy Orton for his recent behavior issues during the European tour. They did not go into detail on the punishment, which will probably involve him having sex with Mae Young. Orton was sent home from the recent WWE European tour and this led to the cancellation of the announced Edge vs. Orton match on RAW Monday. The kayfabe reason given to fans was that the match was pulled due to Cena and Michaels running long. Hey, if Orton being a dork led to a classic hour long television match, I'm all for it. Allegedly Orton was found passed out drunk in his hotel room after having trashed it to the tune of $30,00. Credit: PWInsider.com
-While Orton's WWE future and his status for Backlash remains in doubt, Chris Benoit vs. MVP has been added to the card.

-WWE has pulled support from Deep South Wrestling. All talent will be relocated, most likely to OVW. WWE is stating that it was simply a failed experiment, but rumors have WWE being unhappy with Jody Hamilton's running of the company from him signing an independent deal with Canada 's Fight Network to him allowing the fired Bill DeMott to continue to hang around. Oh great, now that he doesn't have anywhere to go DeMott will be sleeping on my couch for the next week. Credit: PWInsider.com
-Smackdown on Friday finished with a 2.4 rating. Still low, still means Undertaker sucks. Credit: PWInsider.com
-Variety yesterday had an article on fringe DVD sales. Featured prominently was WWE's big wrestling DVD sales. Joel Satin of WWE stated that many stores don't like the stigma of carrying wrestling DVD's, but do so because the sales figures are so high. I shudder to think of hypocorism in a capitalist society. Credit: Variety.com
-Former WCW and WWE wrestler Sean O'Haire is being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center for his part in an altercation outside the Hilton Brewing Company on Hilton Head Island. Both he and the man he fought with are being held until trial. Both claim the other man started the fight. I wonder how much street cred picking a fight with a wrestling jobber gives you in the joint? Credit: PWInsider.com
-Super Crazy has torn his left MCL during the WWE tour of Europe in a match where he tagged with Val Venis against Kenny Dykstra and Daniel Rodimer. Crazy reportedly came down wrong off of a springboard dropkick and later was holding his knee after hitting a double team suplex. He's super, he's crazy, he's in the hospital. Credit: PWInsider.com
-WWE Diva Maryse is currently featured in Playboy's special Blondes, Brunettes and Redheads. Three of my favorite things on earth. No word on if carpet and drapes have to match to be included in that issue. Credit: WWE.com
-The Hulk Hogan sponsored energy drink Socko (Mick Foley should sue him) will be carried at Wal-Marts starting on May 15th. However, the Memphis Wal-Mart backed out at the last minute and Hogan cut an angry promo on them. Socko is produced by Bischoff-Hervey entertainment, or as I like to call it the Third Sign of the Apocalypse. Credit: press release
-Shark Boy has reportedly reached an undisclosed settlement with Dimension films over his lawsuit against them using his name for the film The Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava Girl in 3-D. Considering the film bombed, he got like about twelve bucks and a Snickers bar. Credit: PWInsider.com
-Word is that Sting vs. Kurt Angle is being given away free on television to help bolster Impact's ratings as they negotiate with Spike TV for a two hour time slot. Ah yes, I have missed Thursday Night Thunder. Credit: PWInsider.com
-Hot Topic stores will begin carrying TNA shirts and other merchandise. This will be awkward when Ariel of ECW shops there. Credit: PWInsider.com
-Robert Roode is suffering from some sort of leg injury according to sketchy reports. This is usually followed by some sort of firing or some sort of rehab stint. Credit: PWInsider.com
-Mike Quakenbush, Gran Akuma, Hallowicked and Jigsaw will be making their Ring of Honor debuts this coming weekend. Credit: ROHWrestling.com
-Ric Flair is suing his former financial advisor and several Charlotte businessmen for swindling him and his ex-wife Elizabeth out of over $500,000 in business investments. Actually they didn't get swindled, their partners just invested in Hulk Hogan's Socko energy drink and took a bath. Credit: bizjournals.com
-Former WWE wrestler Rosey will most likely miss all of his upcoming dates for All Japan due to filming a part in a television show in the US. Credit: ewrestlingnews.com
ECW THOUGHTS
-CM Punk rallies the troops and shakes hands with everyone, but Burke. He then pops back into camera shot after leaving and says he was just messing with him. Heel Punk is cool as hell. I'm liking the idea of a Burke vs. Punk feud, but where does that leave the New Breed?
-Bobby Lashley and Umaga square off in what I believe is their first straight up match. Sorrowfully it doesn't go anywhere as Estrada blasts Lashley with the title belt. Lashley works him over, because you know he has to get his heat back. Vince McMahon dressed like John Steed from "The Avengers" holds Umaga back to save his strength for Sunday. Was that really the best booking to hype Backlash that they could come up with?
-Burke tries to build support with the New Breed, but they seem to be on Punk's side. I like how Burke says "vampire" to Thorn. It's like how one would say "so you disinfect bowling shoes for a living." Punk then shows up to cut Burke off. Heel Punk whips eight different kinds of ass, have I said that?
-Snitsky jobs out Balls Mahoney, the forgotten Original. I think this means Snitsky destroys Richards next week. Oh, what about Mike Knox?
-Punk continues to play Patton in the back saying basically what he said to start with. They're laying this on a bit thick. Burke comes in. This was nothing the other segments didn't already cover. Someone get Cor Von a jacket, he's been bouncing around like he's cold since the start of the show. I guess the story notes just said, "New Breed warms up."
-Burke says he wants to make it even in the elimination match and tells Punk to have a set. It's an elimination match, someone is going to have a numbers advantage at some point. The match itself is prelude to Punk kicking Burke to give Van Dam the win. He then hits the Go 2 Sleep on Burke, but says he's sorry after. It will be interesting to see how they spin that next week.
