WORLD TITLE SHUFFLE
By Phill Feltham
Wrestling just got interesting. The world title pictures on two shows have turned my eye while the other, as of the time I write this, is still in question.
First, Vince McMahon as the ECW Champion. You know I'd talk about this sooner or later. The shoot comments made after Backlash by the ECW Originals Rob Van Dam, Sabu, Tommy Dreamer and the Sandman were great.
Van Dam was harsh, Sandman was drunk, Dreamer was crying and Sabu needs anger management therapy. And I must say I found ECW interesting to watch again.
Bobby Lashley's injury has paved way for the ECW Originals to be involved in the World title picture, and what not a bigger heel than Vince McMahon. I said it once and I'll say it again. There are no better angles then the real life ones. ECW Originals naturally hate the ECW. Vince naturally hates the Originals. Perfect fit. Now the only way, they'll screw it up is if Vince does a clean job to Rob Van Dam next week on ECW on Sci-Fi.
Monday Night Question Mark. Raw was a great show. Shawn Michaels gets the snot kicked out of him -- Edge gets the blame. Wait a sec, he's eating floor in the locker room. Ha! It's Randy Orton's fault. No, he's
not. He's having a Monday night snooze. Well, if it's Orton or Edge, then ah, it's John Cena's fault. No, it isn't. He's the good guy. I was waiting for John Cena to be laid out before he got to the ring, but alas, no dice. I thought the culprit might be the Great Khali because who else was going to cause that carnage. Certainly not Umaga. The Umaga/ Cena program is about as stale as a Ric Flair/ Carlito feud.
The Great Khali laid out Cena, as expected. Say what you want about Khali--big, ugly, clumsy, no selling or stupid. Whatever you paint him, I think he'll be the next WWE Champion.
The Undertaker has to be ready to drop his World title to Batista. The Oldertaker has a torn tricep and will need to take more time off. He's getting older. He's not like Ric Flair though: "The Oldest Player In The Game".
The question now is, who's going to step up to the plate? Mr. Kennedy said on RAW he isn't cashing his title shot until WrestleMania 24. I say Matt Hardy. He beat Mr. Big-Mouth on Smackdown and he was voted to be the man to jump into main event status. Might as well stop delaying what will happen eventually.
