Ask 411 Wrestling 09.19.07: Going Through the Ring, Angle Sucking, Teddy Hart in WWE and more!
Posted by Steve Cook on 09.19.2007

It's time to Ask 411 Wrestling! I'm Steve Cook, and well…

Well…

Well…

……..

……..

……..

……..

What can I say? It's just been one of those weeks. I've got nothing as far as small talk goes, so I'm just going to get on with my bidness.

Comments, Corrections & Other C Words

On the blood capsules, I thought they used them only when they BLEED INTERNALLY that is how I spell out a dramatized word. I saw Lita do a mouth bleeding job when she tagged with the Hardyz once, and it looked so fake, the blood was even kinda pink. I didn't think they would ever use it for a head wound, that's just stupid, it rubs off so easy.Chris Jacobs

That wasn't the first time Lita bled while teaming with the Hardys, if you know what I'm saying.

*rimshot*

After reading your latest Q&A, I can't help but share this indy
wrestling story. In a nutshell, after three double knees to the lower
abdomen from the top rope, wrestler on the receiving end starts
spitting blood. In this case, I don't see how blading could have
worked well. (I know for a fact it wasn't real blood.)
- Alexandre Menard

I think I saw something like this online…and it was a dude doing it to a chick. That's pretty messed up right there.

This might seem kind of petty but Russo's first Nitro was actually a week prior on October 18th in Philadelphia. The reason I remember this is because I was in attendance that night. One notable thing that happened which began one of Russo's first storylines was that Buff jobbed clean to La Parka. Buff then broke kayfabe saying he'd never do that again and Jarrett then made his return to WCW with the el kabong on Buff.
Personally, it was the first time I got to see either Sting or Bret Hart (two of my favorites)live- and against each other no less. Not bad :]
Ron M.

Love the article read it every week. As far as the squat issue with Benoit and a "young wrestler who disrespected HBK and Benoit" Ii read on wrestlingobserver a while back, probably about 1-2 years ago when Benoit was still on Smackdown, that Davari thought he could keep up with Benoit's training regiment and Benoit proceeded to do 500 Hindu squats and Davari did them along with him. The next day Davari reportedly couldn't walk and pissed blood. That is the story i read. Maybe that will give you a lead on the story. Keep up the good work - Eric Kukis

My friend Mike and I used to look for them, because we knew Rey would always come out as a super hero for the bigger Pay Per Views. I cant say what PPVs they were on, but Rey has been the following super heroes:

-Spider-Man (both full body suit and mask-only with generic matching tights)
-Batman (with a little 'RM' where the Bat-symbol woulda been)
-The Hulk (he once wore a green suit with tattered purple shorts on top of them)
-Reed Richards/Johnny Storm (around the time of the release of the first Fantastic 4 movie, he wore this one - 'RM' appeared where the '4' would have been on the outfit)
-The Flash (most people remember this one, as mentioned by a fellow reader last week)
-Superman
-Silver Surfer (his return at summer slam. )
-Daredevil
-The Phantom

There were likely others, including a good chance that he was Wolverine at some point in there, but because I have the last cable company to not have WWE 24/7, doesn't look like I am searching anytime soon.
uultramann

Just a few comments... as for Rey's superhero costumes, back in WCW, he wore a costume similar to Arachnaman. Only his clothing maker got the purple and yellow mixed up with red and black!

As for Trish leaving WWE... look at the list. Lita: Worked for ECW. RVD: Worked for ECW. Big Show: Worked for WCW. Jericho: Worked for ECW and WCW. Trish was a homegrown talent and she carried the Diva brand on her back for basically the entire time she was in WWE. I mean, look at the championships, the Babe of the Year contests they did, the magazine shoots with other Divas talking about how Trish knew what she was doing and would give pointers for photographs. Add into the fact that she held her own taking powerbombs through tables, doing storylines with people like Vince and The Rock... I'm not trying to take anything away from the others on the list, but practically everyone on that list had something going against them during their time there really. Lita with sleeping around with different boys (which causes problems in the locker room), RVD with drug problems, Show with weight problems, and Jericho stated he was burned out and taking time off. As you said, Trish was retiring. I think WWE believed she was sincere with that statement and weren't afraid of her jumping to TNA or anywhere else.

I also agree about it being a rare thing to see someone go out on top. Austin and The Rock would probably be the only other likely candidates to have received this treatment. Austin is happy showing up now and again and The Rock wanted to put over talent like The Hurricane and Booker T. (Not going into whatever might've occurred afterwards from one HHH.) As for holding the belt on the way out... the Women's title is a secondary belt. I can't recall any instance of someone leaving with the World Title on good terms, at least in the U.S.

As for FIP DVDs, I've seen one or two of them for sale at my local fye.

If you want to see blood capsules in wrestling, watch the first disc of the first volume of Women's Extreme Wrestling. There's a match between Tara Titanium and Krissy Kiss, where it's fairly obvious the way the brawl takes place and the color and consistency of the blood that it's bogus.

Finally, as for the similarities between RVD/Jeff Hardy matches... here's one that's slightly different... Hardy gets all of a waistlock reversal and a headlock for offense. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mR8U4-NPMc
- J. Jimmy Jettison

I'm not going to hate too much on WEW for using blood capsules. I'm not a big fan of women bleeding in wrestling matches…if that makes me a sexist or something, so be it.

that (Sid's winning streak) was great. I think i stopped carring about accuracy and started laughing like I had just lost my mind when sid was in the middle of the ring, and cruiserweights would run at him, and he would do his stuff (powerbomb, chokeslam, etc) to knock them down, and then the ref (charles robinson?) would count the pinfall without sid even bothering to cover them.

HE GOT THE F'N PINFALL WITHOUT COVERING THEM! and then his streak would go up.

good times.
Manu Bumb

Manu's got a little bit too much dirt on me for my liking. As long as I keep him distracted with Hooter girls I'm not too worried about it.

/"So I gotta question for the Ask411 column. Back in the WM12 set-up for Diesel/Undertaker, Taker was playing mind games with Diesel, one of them being that a coffin was wheeled to ringside and what it contained, in essence, was a mirror image of Nash. Any idea how they managed that, cuz the effigy in the casket at ringside was totally lifelike and the literal spitting image." – 411's Geoff Eubanks

/This was something that completely blew my mind as a 13-year-old kid and I always assumed it was a really good wax dummy or something. Well, I just checked my DVD of WrestleMania XII and they recap this incident prior to the 'Taker/Diesel match. Here's how it went down. When Nash opens the casket there is a layer of plastic over the body. As he begins to pull the plastic back, they cut to a close-up of the face with the plastic being pulled back, and it is obviously Nash. This could easily have been filmed previously with Nash actually in the casket. When we pull back to the original camera angle (which is facing the head of the casket, a couple of feet away), you can't see much, but it looks like a real person of similar build to Nash and wearing his tights is in the casket. They then cut to a live in-casket shot behind the body's head, showing Nash staring down into the casket with a horrified expression. Pausing it at this two or three second shot before Nash slams the lid, you can see that whoever was in the casket at the live show had slightly different facial hair. Nash had a full goatee at the time, whereas this guy's mustache doesn't seem to connect down the side of his mouth with the hair on his chin. The face is out of focus, as the camera is obviously focused on the real Nash's facial expression. So it looks like Manu Bumb was correct. Either way, it was a hell of a production technique that was executed very well and was quite effective.
Chris

I'll take your word for it, it sounds like you did a lot of watching of that segment.

Questions!

Quick one. Why was Christy Hemme let go from WWE? It seemed she had a real passion for the business, posed for playboy and her in ring skills while obviously needed improvement were not the worst I have ever seen. She seemed to be willing to bust her ass to improve. On top of that she is stunning and has a very unique look. I have heard that she had either slept with Triple H or was caught in a compromising position with Triple H. Have you heard anything like this? – FT

Hemme's dismissal was due to a combination of budget cuts and WWE Creative having nothing for her to do. Yeah, there's a joke in there somewhere. As for the thing with her and Triple H…it was a very popular rumor shortly after Hemme was fired, but there was never any proof that anything like that happened.

What good homie... I love your article, you and Ari are my two favorites. Now for my question. a few years ago I ended up buy these to tapes of Japanese death matches but not till I got home did I realize the IC f'n P where the the host of it and it was called "STRANGLEMANIA 1 & 2".It feat. Mick Foley as "Cactus Sack"and Terry Funk as "Drunk terry Flunk". Now I lost tape one and ended up buying it again about a year later. The commentary on it was completely different.(Even if you don't like ICP of Death matches you will love the commentary on this, you will laugh for 2 hours strait or I'll buy it back from you(don't hold me on that)). Any reason why this may have happened? Hit me back. – BL

I have not seen Stranglemania 1 or 2, but I can tell you that the original Stranglemania came out on VHS in 1997 & Stranglemania 2 came out in 2000. In 2006 both were re-released on DVD. My best guess is that the re-release has different commentary than the original release. Why they did that, I'm not sure…maybe they wanted to make something a little different so fans that bought the original release would also want to buy the new one.

Why was Johnny (Swinger) Parisi signed by the WWE? Now, not I ask not why he was released but why did they sign him in the first place? He comes out, wins his Heat debut the same night CM Punk did. WWE has horrified with Punk's in ring work and shipped him to developmental. Swinger stayed around, jobbing on heat for a few months, then went to developmental and ultimately asked for his release. So, why was he signed in the first place, and what did he do to get jobbed out constantly on Heat for 3 months? – Josh

Fair question. I think what WWE saw in Swinger was a veteran that knew how to work TV matches and was capable of making other talent look good. These are important qualities for wrestlers to have, and not all wrestlers have them. Unfortunately for Swinger, WWE didn't see him as anything more than that, which is why he spent a few months on Heat jobbing and eventually going down to developmental.

I've heard everything from 'he was fired' to 'he's trying to get a job with WWE' to well...mostly nothing at all. Whatever happened to Coach Scott D'Amore? What is his status with TNA - if any - and what is he up to now? – Stephanie in Winnipeg

According to his MySpace, D'Amore is still employed by TNA and spends a lot of time running businesses in the Windsor, Ontario area. I'd suggest visiting his "Stars of the Game" restaurant in LaSalle, but I don't think the commute from Winnipeg to LaSalle would be very much fun.

That's the great thing about MySpace, you can find pretty much anybody on there and figure out what they're up to. Except that girl you met at that one party and forgot to get her number and nobody else seems to have it either. You could ask her dad who works for your company for it…but come on, are you trying to get killed or something? Other than her, everybody's on MySpace.

No, that was a completely hypothetical scenario. Shut up. And my profile's set on private because I don't have much of anything up on there yet. I might someday!

There was a match between The Undertaker and Big Show on Raw in 1999 for the WWF title which Taker held at the time. The finish was a no contest when Big Show chokeslammed Undertaker through the mat. Was this planned or a freak accident? – Red Ripper

In the documentary "Forever Hardcore", Terry Taylor admitted that he came up with the idea of Big Show chokeslamming the Undertaker through the mat from watching the match at Living Dangerously 1998 where Taz & Bam Bam Bigelow went through the mat and the fans went insane. It was a pretty cool spot there, and it worked pretty well in WWE too.

hey man. over at wrestlecrap, one of the past inductions of crap they have down is 'Jason: Evil ax murderer befriends Owen Hart. Damn bizarre." My question is: when the hell was there ever an angle involving Jason Vorhees and Owen Hart?! – Eric

This happened while Owen was competing for Stampede Wrestling…I believe it was sometime in 1988. I don't remember how exactly the angle went, but I think Jason came in as a heel feuding with Owen and later turned babyface. Not sure who was actually under the mask.

who the hell is ty bailey? the guy rumored to be taking over development (along with val venis).

sorry if i misspelled it, but you know the guy im talking about - the name that isnt val. – Manu Bumb

Ty Bailey is the son of Miami Dolphins CEO Joe Bailey. He currently serves as a full-time scout that travels the country and recruits amateur and pro athletes to become developmental wrestlers for WWE. He worked for the XFL back in the day and has connections in the NFL. I assume he's doing pretty well at this job if he's being considered for a promotion.

I haven't really watched WWE or any other brand in a while; I stumbled onto 411mania and read references to the Hart Foundation 2.0. Who are they, how are they related to the original hart foundation or to the harts. I heard a long time ago that Teddy Hart (Bret's nephew??) had a try out with WWE but was released. Is he involved? Do you think WWE will make this faction work out or is it something that won't last? Has there been a Hart foundation in the Indy ranks? Basically, I want to know everything about the Hart Foundation 2.0. It might be the only thing to get be interested in wrestling again. - Hart Foundation 2.0's biggest fan

Teddy Hart is the son of Georgia Hart & B.J. Annis, and grandson of Stu & Helen. Harry Smith is the son of Diana Hart & Davey Boy Smith. Nattie Neidhardt is the daughter of Jim Neidhart and granddaughter of Stu & Helen. They have competed in Florida Championship Wrestling & Ohio Valley Wrestling. There was a Hart Foundation 2.0 in Stampede Wrestling & Major League Wrestling back in 2002 that featured Hart, Smith, Neidhardt, T.J. Wilson & Jack Evans.

WWE seems to have big plans for this group, but I can't say when they'll be brought up to the big time. Sometime in 2008, I'd think. Whether it'll work or not…well, that remains to be seen. I'm not sold on Teddy's in-ring ability or his capability to not get fired. Nattie's a good talent, but she doesn't really fit that WWE Diva stereotype. I've got nothing bad to say about Harry though, he's had plenty of good matches and the opportunity to learn from guys like Jeff Jarrett & AJ Styles in rings all across the world. They've got a lot of potential, and I think Canada (I know Harry isn't totally Canadian…work with me here) needs some new wrestling heroes to believe in. So hopefully things will pan out for Teddy, Harry & Nattie.

Hey great column! I'm surprised that ya haven't got a girlfriend, with your wealth of wrestling knowledge and all, as I'm sure that would be a major pulling point for an obsessed female wrestling fan??

Anyways, my question is do wrestlers practise their spots before the cameras hit? So many of the spots we see look like they require some pretty articulate maneuvering (e.g. John Cena & Edge's tables match a while back) so do the wrestlers involved get a chance to have time in the ring on the day of the show to go through the motions?? – Pete from Manchester

Some guys are total obsessive/compulsives and insist on working everything out in advance. In the case of PPV matches, especially main event matches, they usually get worked out in advance and high spots involving tables are planned out in a detailed manner. It's PPV, you know? You can't mess that stuff up. As for your regular matches, spots usually don't get practiced.

I don't meet many obsessed female wrestling fans. The ones I knew in high school…let's just say they weren't my type. The ones I've dated haven't been my type either.

This question is about Kurt Angle.
Now I know the Kurt Angle/Edge feud was what started
the Kurt Angle "YOU SUCK" chants and it was Edge that
started it, but I have to know since I can't find
anywhere exactly HOW he started it. Did he convince
the crowd to do it with him or did Edge just say it? I
am curious the details of how it started to get
chanted by the whole crowd eventually. – Robbie

The "You Suck" chant made at least a few appearances before the feud with Angle & Edge. The first time I remember it happening was during an episode of Smackdown in late 2000 during Angle's feud with the Rock. Angle was showing a video of him beating up Rock set to his entrance music. He insisted on showing it again and again, and eventually the fans amused themselves by chanting "You Suck" to the tune of Angle's music after they'd heard it a couple of times already. Funny stuff. It didn't become a permanent thing until the Edge feud though.

I know this won't be answered before the "real" bastard son is revealed on RAW, but "things are looking up" has got to be a reference to the return of The Blue Blazer. Your thoughts on the ghost of Owen Hart being VKM's son? It makes sense storyline-wise. He is already dead. So, he can't go after any of the WWE fortune. Also, they have dropped clues in the past. What with his brother Bret involved in the Montreal "screw" job. A coincidence? I think not. – Pmop

It would have been incredibly tasteless, but more interesting than what they came up with.

ok my friend and i were talking the other day and he said the ROCK has the most WWE/WWF title reigns. Well i sort of got him but quickly fired back, Triple HHH has 10 ( i know about flairs 16) but he said, no Trpile HHH has held the World Heavyweight title(5) and WWE title (5)to combine for ten, sort of like flairs combined titles. He said the ROCK has held the WWE/F (ONLY) 7 times and noone has beat that record!!!! example; Flairs 16 title runs, only held the wwe/f title 2 times
Hogan has what 5 wwe/f title reigns, then wcw title, then the Heavyweight title for wwe back in 02? im starting to think my friends right!?
thats my question, does the rock hold the record for the WWE/F title only, at 7??? meaning out of the 7 reigns there was no WCW title for him or any others. doesnt harly race have 10 WWE/f title reigns? – Justin

Rock does have the most WWF title reigns with 7. Harley Race never held the WWF title, but he did win the NWA title 8 times. Your friend is correct!

Is Stone Cold not medically cleared to wrestle, or does he just choose not to anymore? – Jaime

I don't know if Stone Cold's tried to get anybody to clear him to wrestle since he retired after WrestleMania XIX. The bottom line is that Austin's body can't handle an active wrestling schedule anymore, and he's not the kind of guy to halfass something. If he can't wrestle to the best of his ability, or if he can't hang with the wrestlers he's competing with, he's not going to wrestle. I don't blame him.

JLAJRC has nine questions. Nine!

1.) Who were Shawn Michaels Knights at the 1993 Survivor Series?

Red Knight = Barry Horowitz
Blue Knight = Greg Valentine
Black Knight = Jeff Gaylord

Could there have been a less formidable selection of tag team partners for HBK?

2.) Why was there a SMW tag team title match at that PPV? Was Vince secretly supporting them like he did with ECW?

SMW had started a "working relationship" with the WWF at this time, mostly because Jim Cornette chose the wrong time to start a wrestling promotion. Wrestling was in a recession from 1992 until the beginning of the Monday Night Wars, and while Internet fans enjoyed the SMW product, it didn't translate in ticket sales and video sales. It wasn't a secret deal like the ECW deal was, it was more like the USWA's public relationship with the WWF at the same time. WWF needed places to develop talent, and SMW & USWA seemed like good places to do that. This match was part of the deal, as was Cornette coming to the WWF to serve as Yokozuna's American spokesperson.

3.) In the Mick Foley DVD, he kinda dismisses his Dude Love persona. Why does he hate it?

Dude Love wasn't as hardcore as Cactus Jack & Mankind. I think Foley's dislike of the Dude Love persona has a lot to do with his fans' opinion of it. A lot of them didn't like Dude Love very much and preferred the crazier personalities of Mick Foley. Also, I figure that Cactus & Mankind are closer to Foley's actual personality than the Dude. Oww, have mercy!

4.) Does Radio WWF/E still exist?

Nope. It didn't last very long at all…less than a year spanning the years of 1993 & 1994. Honestly, who'd listen to guys calling wrestling matches on the radio? It was a concept that didn't really have that much potential and was more trouble than it was worth.

5.) Why did the NWA stop doing the Bunkhouse Stampede match? Was it because Wargames was more popular? Same goes with the Crockett Cup tournament.

The disappearance of the Bunkhouse Stampede more than likely had something to do with Dusty Rhodes getting fired as booker. The match was one of Dusty's babies…hell, he won 99% of them. Once he was gone, the people who took over saw no reason to keep doing it after 1988 ended. Their decision was pretty easy, especially considering that the PPV "Bunkhouse Stampede" was a total bomb.

The end of the Crockett Cup tournament was due to Jim Crockett selling his promotion to Ted Turner in November 1988.

6.) Why did the Midnight Express switch from Dennis Condry to Stan Lane?

Condrey had to leave the wrestling business to attend to personal matters, specifically his failing marriage. This probably would have gone over better if Condrey had discussed it with Cornette, Eaton & his bosses first. Instead he disappeared and nobody had any idea where he went. They needed a replacement, and since Jim Crockett had just purchased the Florida territory, Stan Lane seemed like a perfect fit.

7.) Whatever happened to the tag team The Fantastics? They were popular in the late 80s along with other pretty-boy teams like the Rockers, Rock 'n' Roll Express, etc. But unlike the other teams, they seem to have been forgotten. I thought they were pretty good.

Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rodgers still team on occasion in the independent circuit. As for why they've been forgotten…they weren't the first team to do the pretty-boy gimmick in the 80s (Fabulous Ones), they weren't the best team to do it (Rock & Roll Express), and neither of them went on to be one of the greatest wrestlers of all time (Rockers). The Fantastics were a very good team that had good matches with teams like the Midnight Express, but they were never the best or most beloved team in a promotion at any given time. As you say, they were pretty good. The Rock & Roll Express was great, and that's why people still remember them over the Fantastics.

8.) Why did they stop showing the AWA show on WWE 24/7? It started about the same time they inducted Greg Gange and they released the AWA DVD, plus it was hosted by his son, but then quickly vanished. They still show other shows like Championship Wrestling from Florida, but I think more people would rather watch AWA.

They may have only done a few shows with Greg Gagne hosting, and now that he's no longer part of WWE, he won't be hosting any more shows. I don't have a real good answer for that other than if enough people tell WWE that they want the AWA on 24/7, they'll probably bring it back.

9.) What was the real reason they switched from Damian to Lucifer the snake? I know Earthquake "squashed Damian" and made snakeburgers, but is there a real life reason (Damian in poor health?)

I don't know of Damien's health status during this time. It was just a unique way to further the feud between Earthquake & Jake Roberts, and a way for Roberts to debut a bigger snake. I think it worked out pretty well for everybody involved…except poor Damien.

Does any footage exist of the legendary Last Battle of Atlanta steel cage match featuring Tommy Rich vs. Buzz Sawyer? As heavily promoted as that match was, I can't fathom the extreme shortsightedness the NWA must have had in not having a television camera or two present at that event. Also, does any known footage exist of the Tri-State Wrestling Alliance (TWA)? This early nineties precursor to Gordon/Heyman's ECW featured some awesome matches (according to the Apter mags of the day) with the likes of Catcus Jack, Abdullah the Butcher, Terry Funk and "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert. Surely Joel Goodhart had the common sense to videotape these events! – Wes

There is no known footage of the Rich/Sawyer match, and yes, that is completely insane. Same thing goes for the Tri-State stuff. Wrestling promoters are really dumb sometimes….surely the money that could have been made off of selling videos would have covered the expenses of filming the shows. It's too bad because I'd love to see that Rich/Sawyer match and the Cactus Jack vs. Eddie Gilbert barbed wire match.

Quick Question. I remember watching what I believe was the last Tough Enough WWE did. (The one that the Boogeyman was booted off of for lying about his age). During the priliminary competition there was a really muscular guy who injured himself pretty seriously (I believe a torn bicep). The guy still showed up and did a very tough obstacle course using one arm while keeping the injured arm clutched to his chest. Al Snow had to cut him because of the injury and was in tears while he did it because of the heart and desire the guy showed. After he was cut, some WWE suit who was there to judge the competition informed the guy that they were so impressed by his desire that they would pay for his medical bills to get the injury looked after and offer him a try out once he was healthy. I remember thinking this was one of the all time "feel good" moments in WWE T.V. My questions are...1) Who was they guy? 2) Do you know what became of him? and 3) Do you know where I can find a clip of this moment? Thanks – Jamie

I'm going to turn this one over to our readers. Honestly, I remember what you're talking about, but I don't remember who the person was. I will hope that somebody else does!

Cook, I don't have any porn for you, but I do have a question... I seem to remember a time when the APA were used to punish guys for stuff that happened off camera... do you remember the specifics on this? Also, any info on the "wrestler's court" that 'Taker runs in the lockerroom? – Chris

We have discussed the APA thing in the column before…two instances I can think of off the top of my head where they were used as enforcers were in matches with Perry Saturn (for stiffing a jobber for no real reason) and Public Enemy (for being Public Enemy). Basically, Bradshaw & Faarooq were capable of fucking people up and could do so if they had to.

As for the wrestler's court, I believe it operates like a kangaroo court in other sports. People bring disputes before Judge Taker, they have "lawyers" that plead their cases, and the judge decides. What happens in wrestler's court stays in wrestler's court. Right, OJ?

We'll close things up this week with a series of questions from Travis

First off, who in god's name hired their commentators? I know Tokyo Pop releases all the videos/DVDs but were they responsible? Because these guys were often annoying, and easily got distracted by talking about something other than the action (most of the time to take a cheap shot at the North American promoters and their talent).

I wish I knew, I saw the Hayabusa tape and those guys were pretty godawful. One guy reminded me of a second-rate Don Callis. Obviously whoever hired them had no clue of what a good wrestling announcer sounds like.

I've been looking all over for information regarding Hayabusa after 2006, but where ever I look doesn't have anything and often ends their articles with "He is looking forward to getting into the ring without aid." So have you heard of any news on him? Also, as a secondary part to this question, if he ever got back into shape for wrestling, do you think he'd be the same Hayabusa the fans knew, or would he take the most obvious route and do a very safe ground based style (Not that I'd blame the man, he's lucky to have survived)?

I would not be optimistic about Hayabusa returning to active competition. He can now walk with a cane, but there's no guarantee that he'll ever be able to walk without one. I would have to believe that if he ever did somehow come back to wrestling, he wouldn't be the high flying Hayabusa of old.

Also, when it comes to Mr. Pogo and his "weapons of choice' are they dulled? Because I swear I've seen some using them to blade in the few FMV shows I've seen. It makes me wonder just how the Japanese promoters are able to get this stuff shown (Or are even allowed to do the death matches, must be one hell of a legal waiver they must sign).

I'm not sure if the Japanese state athletic commissions are aware of what goes on at some of those wrestling shows. Somebody might want to report some of these promotions. I'm under the impression that the weapons are dulled, but you never really know because Japanese wrestlers are generally far more insane than their American counterparts. They get dropped on their heads and get right up and ask for more. Sick bastards.

Also since TNA is looking to create a Women's Division, should they also be looking at talent from other counties? Personally I see the answer as an obvious yes if they want to be serious about it. But who would you suggest they sign?

Foreign wrestling is not a strong point of my wrestling knowledge, and I know even less about foreign female wrestling. I would recommend Britain's Katie Lea if she wasn't under a WWE developmental contract. Canada's Sarah Stock is another foreigner that'd be a good hire…granted, I haven't seen her wrestle, but she's nice to look at and people tell me she's good. I think the best thing TNA could do to develop a women's division is to raid SHIMMER. Sure, Ryan Byers will be pissed at first, but he'll get used to recapping their 2 minute long matches on Impact.

As a final question, how will Teddy Hart fare in the WWE when brought up? I haven't seen any of his current work, but from what I've seen before he's quite spotty, would the restrictions hamper his in-ring work?

Like I said earlier in the column, I'm not sold on Teddy Hart's ability to remain employed by WWE very long. He's usually pretty bad at respecting veterans, which is a very important thing to do in the WWE locker room, so I imagine he'll have that working against him early on. He could end up doing well, but I'm not very optimistic. Being in a tag team should help him.

Well, that's all I've got this week. Send any thoughts, concerns, questions or porn to scook411@hotmail.com. Until next time...have a nice day!

Who was the Late 80's-90s WWF Referee who primarily worked tag matches? He was in the ring for the infamous Rockers/Hart Foundation SNME match in Oct. 1990.
