Ask 411 Wrestling 11.21.07: Sexual Harassment, Playboy, Big Moonsaults and More!
Posted by Steve Cook on 11.21.2007

It's time to Ask 411 Wrestling! I'm Steve Cook, and I hope everybody's having a great Thanksgiving week. I'm not going to bore you with a list of things I'm thankful for, but I hope everybody takes a few minutes this week and thinks about all the good things in their lives. Granted, some have more than the rest of us, but I gotta believe everybody reading this column has at least one thing to be thankful for.

If nothing else, you've got me.

Comments, Corrections & other "C" Words

The Rockers-Hart Foundation match with the broken rope is not on either the "Shawn Michaels - From The Vault" DVD or the Bret Hart DVD. Their is a Rockers-Hart Foundation match on the Hart DVD but it is a different match, which came at the time the WWF booked a 3 way tag feud between The Rockers, The Harts and Demolition. The "broken rope" match took place on an edition of Saturday Night's Main Event in 1990 from Fort Wayne Indiana (I think, I'm doing this from memory). Anyway, THAT match has never been shown. It was a 2/3 falls match for the tag titles which lasted almost 35 minutes and was supposedly a classic, ending with a Rockers title win in the 3rd fall. BUT... due to TV timing problems, the WWF had to cut 30 minutes from their broadcast of that show, so they cut the tag title match completely. I believe the top rope broke in the 3rd fall and they used this as a kayfabe reason not to have the title change hands, as they really didn't have a TV show in those days where they could have shown the match. Interestingly, there is a listing for a Rockers-Hart Foundation match on the new Michaels DVD which may just be this "never before seen" match-up.

Stephanie gave birth at the same time as an episode of Raw, not a PPV. Impeccable timing. You may remember it was the night that HBK cut a promo saying that HHH was at the same hospital looking for Vince (to explain why HHH wasn't on Raw), and HBK said in a nudge/wink sort of way, "It's rumoured he knows who the father is."

The relationship between New Japan and WWF was put under strain when Bob Backlund dropped the title to Antonio Inoki in Tokyo in the early 80's to set up a Madison Square Garden re-match. However, there was some dispute over money and the WWF simply never acknowledged that the title change happened. To appease Inoki, they billed him as World Martial Arts Champion and had him win a battle royal at MSG later that year, where he got to eliminate then-WWF tag champs Dick Murdoch and Adrian Adonis at the end. The relationship was fatally snapped after Hulk Hogan became WWF champion in 1984 and Vince stopped sending Hogan to Japan, even offering Ron Shaw as a replacement. Vince found he made far more money having Hogan appear at US house shows than he got from NJPW for sending him to Japan.

I don't think The Road Warriors ever changed the finishes to their matches. I'm almost certain Larry Hennig never shot on the Roadies in the ring. He may well have confronted them backstage (The Axe was one of Verne's "shooters", which was a role the promoter gave to a legit hard-ass to keep guys in line) However, they refused to do jobs in the AWA and Verne Gagne could see that their invincibility was turning them face so he had them drop the belts to the team of Steve Regal (not the current Raw General Manager) and some other mid-carder who's name escapes me. The Roadies left for the NWA immediately after, having previously appeared for Crockett promotions in a short-lived talent-sharing initiative known as Pro Wrestling USA.

Manami Toyota once gave Aja Kong a piledriver off the top rope in an All Japan Women's promotion, which was the most insane move I've ever seen in a women's match.
Andrew

"SummerSlam 1991 is the only event where all the titles were won by faces, unless you want to count WM VI. That isn't as special though because there were only two title matches and one of them was a babyface vs. babyface match. "
I think a Taboo Tuesday or Cyber Sunday had a card with all faces going over in... 2005 maybe? Not sure.
Mike

Just wanted to let you know, it's actually quite amazing-- If you watch that Main Event, Hogan is delivering his pre-match promo and he's wearing the old-style belt (WM3 style). What was amazing is that no more than a few minutes later when he comes down the aisle, you can clearly see him wearing the brand spankin new Winged Eagle. I thought they didn't use the Winged Eagle until WM4, but I was mistaken.Alexander

Regarding Lashley and the Dominator, I read in an interview he did a while back that the move was too hard on his knees so he switched it up.

So what is the connection with Ms. Brooks?
Chris

Non-existent at the moment, unfortunately! But if you look back far enough in my archives you'll figure it out.

Love the column every week - you have the best job in
the world (if only it paid, right?) I've may some
clarification on the Michaels-Jannetty 1993 PWI Match
of the Year. I think that the match that won was on a
RAW from the Manhattan Center from early July.
Jannetty won the IC title from Michaels in a surprise
return on RAW on May 17, and Michaels regained the
strap at a house show the week befre the first King of
the Ring PPV (that's when they introduced Diesel). The
PWI awards issue from 1993 mentions how unusual that
the match wasn't on PPV or a title change. Their MOTY
bout was the best match I ever saw on free TV that
entire great decade, and I think it is on the
otherwise crappy Best of the Intercontinental Title
DVD.
Scott

This is a great job, no doubt about it. Unfortunately my overall hapiness is negatively impacted by my horrible real job and my complete and utter lack of success with the opposite sex. The ten people that have read my MySpace blog could tell you all about that.

Isn't Smackdown referred to as the Rock's Show because the Rock invented the catchphrase "Smackdown." "I'm gonna lay the smackdown on your candyass," and stuff of that sort. The first episode of Smackdown ever featured the MEGA-MAIN EVENT of Stone Cold Steve Austin & The Rock vs. Triple H & Undertaker. The draft between Raw and SD between McMahon and Flair came in 2002, three years after Smackdown got on the air.Dan from Brooklyn

Indeed, Rock introduced the term "Smackdown" to the WWF.

In regards to the following question I have a correction:
1993:Marty Jannetty/Shawn Michaels. I cannot get a definate answer on which match won. Some sources say the May 17 match won while some say the Jul 19 match won. Can you give me a final definate answer?

As far as the Observer, the answer is neither. The match of the Year for 1993 was the following (star rating is Meltzer's):

1993 - Manami Toyota & Toshiyo Yamada vs. Dynamite Kansai & Mayumi Ozaki (2/3 Falls) (4/11 - Osaka) (AJW)*****
And the runner up was the following (Star rating is Meltzer's):

1993 - Steve Williams vs. Kenta Kobashi (AJPW, 08/31/93)*****
And I have the answer to the following question:
What were the observers runner ups from 1985-1989? Wikipedia only lists the winners. Thanks – Wade
Here's the answer (The star ratings are Meltzer's not mine):
1985 - Jaguar Yokota vs. Lioness Asuka (AJW, 08/22/85)****3/4
1986 - Jumbo Tsuruta & Genichiro Tenryu vs. Choshu & Yatsu (AJPW, 01/28/86)****3/4
1987 - Ric Flair vs. Barry Windham (NWA, 01/20/87)****3/4
1988 - The Midnight Express vs. The Fantastics (NWA Clash I Satellite feed, 03/27/88 )****1/4
1989 - Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat (NWA Wrestle War '89, 05/07/89)*****
- Christopher

In response to this I have an answer:

1993:Marty Jannetty/Shawn Michaels.I cannot get a definate answer on which match won. Some sources say the May 17 match won while some say the Jul 19 match won.Can you give me a final definate answer?

Well Jannetty vs Michaels from May 17th is the night Marty made a surprise return and won the IC title from Michaels on Raw with help from Perfect. He lost the title to Michaels a few weeks later (a week before King of the Ring 93 and thats where Diesel debuted. This was a house show.) The Jannetty/Michaels July 19th match happened on Raw. Michaels was champion and successfully defended it in a good match. At one point Marty got a pin but the ref waived it off cause Michaels's foot was on the rope. The July 19th match was voted as match of the year by Pro Wrestling Illustrated.

Also do you happen to know if the Rockers vs Harts match on the upcoming Michaels DVD is indeed the rare title change where Rockers won the titles. No footage of this exists. The only thing that aired in the past was a brief 15-20 sec clip on the Action Zone which hyped Jannetty's return. If they do air this match in full, it will be awesome. The match we have been waiting for, for 17 years.
wrestlevessel

I think it might be, because it's listed as a 2 out of 3 falls match for the tag team titles in October 1990. According to the History of WWE website, that 2 out of 3 fall match was the only one between the Rockers & the Hart Foundation in that time frame. The rumored HBK DVD match listing is all sorts of awesome.

On the Tree of Woe…

Dusty Rhodes named it.

Kevin Sullivan popularized it.
wcwfjojo

It does sound like something Dusty would say…I would have guessed Gordon Solie could have coined the term, but Dusty seems likely as well.

I remember this like it was yesturday...It was the night the Rock and Mankind (Rock N' Sock Connection) won the tag titles from the Undertaker and Big Show...During the match I think Paul Bearer came down to ringside and handed Taker a note and after reading it left in disgust and left Show on his own (The real reason I believe was to write him off the show because he had bad hips and did not come back until Judgement Day as the Deadman Inc. American Badass gimmick) and the Rock and Mankind defeated Show and used a double peoples elbow to win the titles...The contents of the note were never explained and to this day drives me crazy!Stephen

I have to correct you slightly here…Undertaker did not disappear after that match. He won the tag titles back with Big Show and lost them again shortly afterwards. But you are correct in that the whole note thing was never explained.

You stated that CW was in less households than the USA Network. This is untrue according to Wikipedia. CW is in 105 million households in the US, while USA Network is in 89 million households.Mike G.

That may be accurate, but the CW is an un-established network while USA is a long-running cable channel with an audience. It's not the number one reason Raw is considered by WWE to be more important than Smackdown, but it has to be somewhere on the list.

Manu Bumb closes out the feedback section…

"9. How can the Divas wrestles with implants and not get them damaged. What brought this to mind was Kelly Kelly taking the chicken wing lift from Beth Phoenix and then being thrown down chest first. – Trevor

Very carefully. Meltzer says that Kelly's boobs are real, so your fear for her is misplaced. I'm not exactly an expert on breast implants, but I have to believe that it takes quite a bit to pop one of them."

funny you should ask that - an episode of manswers tested the strength of implants - they're pretty damn strong. a fat man that looked to be about the size of naked oily guy (either version) belly flopped on it, and they survived it, so tiny kelly kelly kelly kelly kelly kelly kelly kelly kelly kelly kelly kelly kelly kelly falling on her funbags wont harm them.

"Mideon found the belt in Shane's duffel bag and Shane said he could have it. Seriously, I'm not making that up. This happened on June 21, 1999 in Memphis, Tennessee. I'll bet that wasn't the most ridiculous title change in the history of wrestling in Memphis…but it has to rank pretty high on the list."

Wasnt there a strap match involved, and mideon said he didnt have a belt? or did he just randomly decide he wanted a belt....to go with his tights?

the rest i agree with - he found a belt in shane's bag and asked if he could use that, and it turned out to be the euro belt.

There was no strap match, he just asked Shane to borrow his belt because he forgot his.

"Ken Shamrock was the fourth member of the Union. If memory serves me correctly, he left the Corporation after it was revealed that Vince was in cahoots with the Undertaker and his Ministry of Darkness. Shamrock was mad at Undertaker because he tried to abduct his sister a few weeks before. They did carry 2X4s, and the official name of the Union was Union of People You Oughta Respect, Shane. Also known as UP YOURS. Ah, Russo."

actually, vince was with them. which makes me think shamrock left after shane revealed he was with taker, not vince. After that, vince became a good guy for a short time, before revealing himself as the higher power. on the night when they got to pick their matches, Test asked Vince if he could take on (out) steph.
Manu Bumb

OK…Vince was kicked out of the Corporation shortly after WrestleMania XV. He was preoccupied with his daughter Stephanie at the time. Ken Shamrock took offense to the way Shane treated Vince in kicking him out, and sided with him. It probably made sense back then, but eight years later it's just easier to have you read a CRZ recap.

Questions!

We start with some Manu questions…

ya know how sometimes, extra words will be added inside brackets to make a person's statement make sense? can you figure out what this said before the brackets were added?

Q: You have some harsh words in the book for Dewayne Bruce, who ran WCW's Power Plant when you had a tryout there about 10 years ago. What do you think he will think about the book?
A: I don't [care]. He's a [jerk], and he'll always be one in my book.
---------------------------------------------------------------

? i guess he could've cussed, and they mightve replaced that, but........ive never seen interviews edited like that. weird.

I'm guessing he said "I don't f---ing care, he's a f---wad." It's a strange editing job, I liked back in the old days when they would put [expletive deleted]. I think I'll do that on my curse words from now on. [expletive deleted]!

did kelly kelly's boobs get traded to raw?

Kelly Kelly's left boob was traded to Raw, her right boob was traded to Smackdown, and the rest of her is still in ECW. Seriously though, she's still listed on the ECW roster. They were putting the girls on different shows to help promote their match at the Survivor Series.

whats the story behind the three guys that were fired who accused him of sexual harassment in 1992? – Manu Bumb

When I brought that up, I knew somebody would ask. Former ring announcer Murray Hodgekins, ring-boy Tom Cole and referee Rita Chatterson alleged sexual harassment by several WWF employees, most notably Patterson, Terry Garvin, Mel Phillips and Vince McMahon. The three not named "McMahon" were fired to take the heat off of the WWF...Patterson was rehired months later. Hodgekins, Cole & Chatterson made some waves by appearing on several talk shows, most notably Phil Donahue's show. Barry Orton also made allegations against Patterson and the others. No charges were officially filed, but it was a public embarassment for the WWF and wrestling in general.

When guys from TNA and UFC get injured real bad, do they go see DR James Andrews, or do they have to go to another doctor, because Vince might have a problem with it?

I don't think doctors really give a crap what wrestling promoters think. If TNA or UFC guys don't see Dr. Andrews, it has nothing to do with Vince McMahon. Frankly, I don't know who they see…but if they wanted to see James Andrews I don't think he'd refuse to see them because of WWE.

I remember seeing an episode of smackdown where Triple H got decked by Arnold Schwazanagger ( sorry if I Spelled that wrong), can you tell me what that was about? - DarkNightwolf101

Arnie was on the November 11, 1999 edition of Smackdown to promote the "End of Days" movie and accept a "World Box Office" championship belt from Vince McMahon. He also did color commentary for the main event, which was Degeneration X vs. Rock, Kane, Shane McMahon & Test. Triple H was mad that Arnold was given a championship belt when he had to work to earn his, so he tried to pick a fight with the Governornator. As you can guess, it didn't end well for the Game.

Who do you think should be the next diva to pose for playboy? My opion wwe diva it should be Melina and Tna it should be Mrs.Brooks. – RJEVH01

I obviously agree with your TNA selection. As for WWE, out of the girls I haven't already seen naked somewhere I'd have to go with Maria. OK, maybe Punk and I have similar taste in women. What about it?

Questions: Do you know wht the originally booked finish of the Beth Phoenix-Candice Michelle 2/3 falls match was supposed to be? Was Beth "supposed" to get the pin as a result of Candice's bump off the top rope, except it obviously went very wrong? And just how tough is Candice to have been dragged into centre ring by her freaking broken clavicle? Respect IS Earned...

They had the same finish for a match on the European tour, so I reckon that was to be the finish anyway. I won't deny that Candice showed some testicular fortitude there, but she probably didn't have much of a choice on that one.

Do you know if any past WWE DVD releases include the five star tag title match between Benoit/Jericho and HHH/Austin from Raw in May 2001? The same match that resulted in HHH's first quad tear. – Andrew

I can't think of any off the top of my head. I was just thinking that Chris Jericho's return may lead to a DVD for him, which may include this match, but then I remembered that WWE wants you to forget about He Who Shall Not Be Named. So I wouldn't bet on it appearing on anything anytime soon.

I was just wondering if HHH was ever in the ring as interference, or a opponent for Kane in a inferno match? I thought it was two against Taker, and one against MVP. In a youtube video called Tribute to the Chokeslam, which has some NASTY slams, one is kind of dark, but the hair, and sell of the chokeslam looks like HHH, and the ring was surrounded in fire. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about that one. If it did happen, Im sure HHH didn't catch fire wearing only underwear, so Kane would have lost the first three inferno matches in WWE. So when he fought MVP, they should have brought up the statistic that Kane has never won a inferno match, and given MVP somewhat of a chance of believing he would beat him. – Chris

Triple H faced Kane in an Inferno Match on the September 23, 1999 edition of Smackdown. In fact, you can see the video here. Triple H ended up winning the match.

But come on, whenever somebody has a specialty match, they lose it all the time. Kane isn't the only one to have that problem.

when Bret Hart came to WCW in 1997...how on earth did
he get along with Kevin Nash upon joining the NWO
considering who Nash's best friend is? – Bryan

How can I answer this in kayfabe…OK, I got it. Hart was affiliated with Hollywood Hogan during his stint with the New World Order…as you may recall, Nash was already on the outs with Hogan and was in the process of forming the Wolfpac. So obviously Bret could join the group and still harbor bitter feelings towards Big Sexy.

Indeed.

Quick question regarding Rock's use of the term "jabroni". I've heard
several other wrestlers use this term, most recently in Scott Hall's
shoot tape, and I was wondering if jabroni used to somehow be an
insidery wrestler-to-wrestler insult and, if so, why The Rock got to
claim it/ "out" it? – David

Jabroni = Jobber. The Rock was the first person to think of using it on television, which is why he was the person to "claim" it. When you're as charismatic as the Rock is, you can get pretty much any phrase over, so there's no saying that "jabroni" would have caught on like it did if somebody other than Rocky had used it regularly.

#1. On the first smackdown HBK helped Triple H retain the WWF title over the Rock and then wasn't seen again until may of 2000. Were there plans for him to stick around and form a stable with Triple H, Chyna, and Shane McMahon?

If I remember correctly, HBK was still in the process of finding Jesus and was having some "personal problems" at this time. These "personal problems" made him difficult to deal with and pretty unreliable, so the WWF gave up on any long-term plans involving him. That was the online story at this time. Eventually HBK healed up and found Jesus and became what he is today, but in 1999-2000 he was still struggling.

#2. When the British Bulldog returned in 1999 he did a sit down interview with Jim Ross that was mentioned on the 8/16/99 Raw. Did it ever air? – Pete

Apparently it didn't. There were apparently some legal reasons for this…maybe he discussed Owen Hart? I honestly don't know. But apparently it never made the air for one reason or another. I think part of it might have been on Confidential after he died.

anyways, my question was about Paul Wright "BIg Show".

i read this crazy rumor about him doing the moonsault back in his WCW days.

can you shead some light on this? – Chris

I remember hearing that he did it during a practice session at the Power Plant. He never busted it out in an actual match for one simple reason…who the hell's gonna take a moonsault from Paul Wight? OK, there was another reason…he got more and more out of shape during his time in WCW, and eventually he got to the point where he couldn't even dream of doing a moonsault. But apparently when he was a little bit over 400 pounds, he was crazy enough to try it at the Power Plant.

When I was a bit younger, I happened to be searching through my dad's collection of WWF PPVs he had taped. He had all the classic WMs, and then some. I decided to throw in Survivor Series 1988. Horrible quality dub, almost no way it was from a Coliseum Home Video, as it runs forever, with no cuts that I can tell (i.e. no one just disappears without seeing them elimnated). The funny thing was it began with the Beefcake team vs HTM team match, not the tag team survivor match like most other reviews I have read. Did they switch the order on the home video release for some reason? I am 100% sure that is the order I saw, although I no longer have the tape, it got lost in the shuffle sometime around 2000. – Rick

Yeah, sometimes WWF would change the order of the matches on tapes for some reason. I can't say why, but there's a possibility that happened. I haven't actually seen this show, so I'd appreciate some insight from somebody that has.

What up Steve? Long time reader who had a question about the title reigns of Kurt Angle. He touts himself as a 12 time world champion, but I only recall ten title reigns(6 with WWE, 3 with TNA, and one as the IWGP champion)are the X division, and Intercontnental title's included as well? Hope you can clear this up for me. - Sexton

Here are the World title reigns I would credit Kurt with:

WWF Heavyweight Title – won from Rock at No Mercy 2000
WCW World Title – won from Booker T in July 2001
WWF Heavyweight Title – won from Steve Austin at Unforgiven 2001
WWE Undisputed Title – won from Big Show at Armageddon 2002
WWE Heavyweight Title – won from Brock Lesnar at Vengeance 2003
WWE Heavyweight Title – won in a battle royal on Smackdown in January 2006
NWA Heavyweight Title – won from Christian Cage at Sacrifice 2007
TNA Heavyweight Title – won in a King of the Mountain match at Slammiversary 2007
IWGP Heavyweight Title – won from Brock Lesnar
TNA Heavyweight Title – won from Sting on Impact in October 2007

Csonka suggests that he counts his NCAA championship and Olympic gold medal as world titles to get to twelve. I wouldn't, and quite frankly a couple of reigns on that list are a little sketchy to me. The NWA doesn't recognize his title reign, and the IWGP title thing is a complete cluster[expletive deleted].

what ever happened to the 1990s jobbers on wrestling challage....ross greeberg...mark thomas......iron mike sharp.....and red tyler? – Matt

Ross Greenberg: disappeared into obscurity
Mark Thomas: no idea
Iron Mike Sharpe: he ran a wrestling school for several years after he retired and trained men like Nova, Devon "Crowbar" Storm & the Haas Brothers, but it went out of business.
Red Tyler: no clue

Quick question: in the 96 Rumble, why does Vince McMahon insist on refering to Vader as The Man They Call Vader? He does it all the time though the match (to the point that it is annoying), but it seems odd why he doesnt just refer to him as Vader like Mr Perfect does – Lynx Raven Raide

They were trying to get "The Man They Call Vader" over. I think it was to differentiate the WWF version of Vader from the WCW version of Vader. Of course, the main difference between WWF Vader & WCW Vader was that WCW Vader was an asskicker and WWF Vader was a pussy.

In it's 15 year history how many times has Raw not aired during a week. ( I mean a week where it didn't air on a different night like it sometimes had to do because of the U.S. Open and the Dog Show back in the day) Note I still count best of editions of Raw (like they do at the end of the year while the stars have the holidays off) – Trevor

From 1995 on, the answer is eleven. I'm guessing if you add in 1993 & 1994 the answer goes up to at least seventeen because Raw always had three off weeks a year during its first USA run.

Kevin Fertig hasn't been anywhere for almost a month... I find that odd considering his gimmick and the fact that we just had a Halloween edition of ECW.

Is he being punished after the ugly missed spot with James Curtis on the 9th or has he taken time off because of his baby boy? – Aaron

To the best of my knowledge, he's taken some time off to be with his new baby. I don't know of any WWE punishment for Mr. Thorn.

Editor's Note: Kevin Thorn appeared on ECW last night and defeated Nunzio after I finished writing this column. WWE enjoys making me look silly.

My question is back when TNA did those weekly ppv
shows there was this guy named X or Mr. X and he wore
a mask and I think a wrestling singlet that I believe
had an X on it. Also he would make an X symbol with
his hands. He was a pretty big guy. I remember seeing
him two or three times then no more. I was wondering
if you knew who he was? – Eric

The Mysterious X was none other than Pierre Carl Oulette, who you may remember from his stint as part of the Quebecers in the WWF and the Amazing French-Canadians in WCW alongside Jacques Rougeau. Or perhaps you remember his time in the WWF as the swashbuckling Jean-Pierre Lafitte. Either way, Oulette was the man under the mask, and his stint in TNA ended due to his lack of a working visa.

1) Now the WWE is selling Save Us_222 shirts and Jericho admitted those promos are his on radio shows over the past few weeks, is this a new gimmick for Jericho, will he dump the Y2J name?

Y2J appeared on the Titantron Monday night upon his return, so I doubt he's dropping the Y2J name.

2) I have heard rumblings that when D.H. Smith comes back, they will bring in Hart Foundation 2.0 and Jim "The Anvil" Niedhart will "bring them in". Any chance of this happening? If they do, do this new Hart Foundation team, they need one of the originals to bring them in and since Bret will never go infront of a WWE crowd again, Niedhart would make the most sence, Jimmy Hart would not be bad either but The Anvil I think would be better.

It's a possibility, but I don't think it'd be the same without Teddy Hart or somebody else with the actual Hart name. For the record, I haven't heard anything about a new Hart Foundation debuting anytime soon since Teddy was let go.

3) In Shawn Michaels book and "Before They Were Superstars" piece, he strongly denies the incident at a bar where the Rockers supposidly trashed the bar. It Bret Harts book(only available in Canada), he said Shawn and Marty did trash the bar. Bret never said he was there, but it sounds like Bret thinks its true. Who should we believe? Hitman or HBK? – Steve B

I tend to believe the person that was actually there. I don't think Shawn would have any reason to deny an incident that happened almost twenty years ago, and it seems like Bret is always looking for things to blame Shawn on.

When was the powerslam created? Who invented it? Who popularized it?

I really think that the powerslam is my overall favorite move, with probably my faves to give the move being Ron Simmons and Goldust.

Thanks for any insight into what I consider to be the most explosive move in wrestling! – Mike

I can almost guarantee this isn't the right answer, but the first person I saw do the powerslam was the Junkyard Dog. It was his finisher in the WWF and I believe he also used it during his time in the Mid-South area. Given JYD's popularity down there, the powerslam was probably never more over with a fanbase than it was at that time. I don't know who he got it from.

Well, that's all for this week. Send all thoughts, comments and porn to scook411@hotmail.com. Happy Thanksgiving!
