The Triple Threat 12.16.07: The 74th Edition - Armageddon Preview and More!

Armageddon preview and Abe "Knuckle ball" Swartz inside!
The Triple Threat is back and boy is it cold in Texas. Unfortunately me and my roommates do not run the heater to save money… Anyways, we got plenty of wrestling opinions coming your way and we hope you enjoy this weeks Triple Threat.
Topic # 1 WWE's Armageddon is this Sunday, what do you think of the card?
David Martell: This card almost looks like a super card to me. A lot of these matches are fresh. Jericho vs. Orton could be a great match but I expect Orton to win this one. The Triple Threat match for the World Title looks like it could be awesome. I hope Undertaker wins here so him and Edge can gear up for Wrestlemania. HHH vs. Jeff Hardy is defiantly interesting. I haven't seen a face vs. face match in a long time and if Jeff Hardy wins this will make him a main eventer. We also have HBK vs. Mr. Kennedy in what I hope will be Kennedy's break out match. If Kennedy wins this one, it will also make him a main eventer. Rey vs. MVP looks like the sleeper here even though I rather see Matt Hardy in this match. Mickey James vs. Beth Phoenix will probably be one of the best woman's matches we have seen in awhile. Of course we have our duds. I don't care for the Great Kahli vs. Finlay and the ECW match. I feel bad that CM Punk has to wrestle with three piles of shit. If you haven't bought this PPV yet then you should NOW it could be one of the best PPVs of the year.
Alex Mattis: An unusually huge card for the E this Sunday as they present what could be a bigger card than WrestleMania 23. While they have some garbage on the card they have great match ups and good matches for storyline progression. The triple threat for the SmackDown title should be entertaining, but don't expect a decisive winner. Unfortunately, the same can be said for the Orton-Jericho match. While Orton has been on a tear and will retain his title here, I don't think they are going to put him over on Y2J clean. The Kennedy-HBK match promises to be something, this could be a huge bump for Kennedy. And while I don't like either of the wrestlers here I do believe that the Triple H-Jeff Hardy should be good. Either way this isn't a PPV to miss… unless you're going to enormous indy show… which I am.
Zach Brown: Armageddon looks like a very solid card, and quite possibly a super-show in my opinion. There are only two matches that are sure to disappoint this time around. First of all, Finlay vs. The Great Khali should be absolutely awful, like all matches with The Great Khali. CM Punk is an amazing wrestler, but I don't think that even he can save a match with Big Daddy V and Mark Henry. Every other match looks like it should be great. I'm really excited about Orton vs. Jericho because we'll finally get to see if The Sexy Beast can still deliver. I'm really excited about the Triple Threat match as well. Look for this to be match of the night (a complete no-brainer, but still). And finally, Kennedy is put into a decent mid card storyline against a really talented wrestler. This could definitely be a sleeper hit in my opinion. Everything else on the car looks good, but I think those matches may fall through the cracks in the grand scheme of things.
Topic # 2 What are your thoughts on the 15 year RAW Anniversary show?
David Martell: I truly enjoyed the RAW 15 year anniversary show. It brought back a lot of good memories and the whole show was just fun to watch. It was great to see some of the old superstars like The Million Dollar Man and Sunny. I still can't believe that Abe Knuckle Ball Swartz was there, that was pure hilarity. One of my favorite parts of the show was when Gilberg came out. I wish they would of brought back the Light Heavyweight Title back just for him. We even got a decent latter match with Carlito and Jeff Hardy. It was a great show over all and one hundred times better than the 10th anniversary show.
Alex Mattis: 100 times better than I expected it be. While the actual wrestling wasn't anything to brag about the all around show had a "good feeling" to it. Paying homage to all the greatest hits and misses of Raw. In life, my first true love, other than the Pink Ranger, was Sunny, so seeing her back and looking as good as ever was great. The battle royal was a blast and the beer bash was, as always, fun. A very fun show. The Kane-Lita backstage vignette was genius.
Zach Brown: The 15th Episode of RAW was absolutely horrendous. I couldn't stand the entire night. The matches were awful, and aside from a few funny moments, everything else was just tired and lame. First of all, Hulk Hogan should never step into a wrestling ring ever again. His "match" with Khali was absolutely terrible, and he just doesn't have any of his old charisma or talent anymore. The ladder match with Jeff Hardy and Carlito was somewhat entertaining, but it's ridiculous that Jeff Hardy still has the Intercontinental Title because he could be going into the main event scene. McMahon naming himself the best RAW superstar was funny but totally predictable. The only genuinely funny moment for me was the awkward backstage moment between Kane and Lita. Classic. But as for the night as a whole, my thumb is down.
Topic # 3 There are rumors going around the RVD and Sunny could be making there way back to the WWE. What do you think of this?
David Martell: I just read something recently that said RVD and WWE are already in talks. It seems that RVD has always wanted to stay in the WWE he just need a break from the road. After RVD got a huge pop at RAW its seems WWE wants him back full time. It would also be great to see Sunny back. She still looks great. She would be a way better interviewer than ANY of the WWE backstage people. I say bring them back!
Alex Mattis: While I don't think that RVD will return full time, it was great to see him back. Sunny always made an excellent on-air, and has more talent than 90% of their "interviewers," so her return would be great.
Zach Brown: So RVD made an appearance on Monday by doing a frog splash and pinning Santino. I really think that RVD was doing WWE a quick favor, and it would take a huge some of money to get RVD to come back full time. The guy is obviously liking his time off a whole lot, and it's definitely well deserved. But I doubt RVD will make a return to wrestling any time soon. On the other hand, Sunny looked hot as hell, and if she came back, I would definitely love looking at her every week. So yeah, I'm all for both Sunny and RVD coming back, but RVD is doubtful at best.
Topic # 4 There are rumors saying that Team 3D is going to try to get back in the WWE after their contracts end with TNA. How do you feel about this?
David Martell: The Dudley boys are a thing of the past and I think that WWE let them go at the right time. They had there time and I think its time to move on. I hope WWE is smart and turns them down if they attempt to come back. With all that trash talking they have done they might as well stay in WCWTNA.
Alex Mattis: Of course, after all the shit talk they want right back in. I don't know what they could add to the current roster. It was a big shock when they were cut, but with all the antics they've pulled and all the stupid things they've said I think they have made a detriment to their legacy so I don't see a return being a big deal.
Zach Brown: I could care less about what Team 3D does at this point. They have lost any and all charisma that they once had, and I don't think a move to WWE could help them whatsoever. If Team 3D came back to WWE, not only would their matches be terrible, but I don't even think they would be popular at this point. If they're not happy in TNA, maybe a move to WWE would make them happier, but I think the only clear answer for them is retirement.
Topic # 5 Nattie Neidhart is moving up to the WWE main roster in the coming weeks, how do you feel about this?
David Martell: She will be a great addition to the Women's division. I would like to have her manage Harry Smith. It would be great to see Neidhart vs. Phoenix at Wrestlemania.
Alex Mattis: Well it is always good when someone with talent is upgraded to the main roster. The women's division is growing and getting better and better so this addition should be great. Plus having someone from the Hart legacy put on TV is never a bad thing… unless it is Teddy.
Zach Brown: Nattie Neidhart is one of the hottest women in wrestling in my opinion, so YES, I would be a big supporter of her moving up to the main WWE roster. I mean have you seen the girl? Not only is she absolutely smokin, but she also has a physique that could rival Beth Phoenix. I really hope she has a good helping of her bloodline's in-ring ability. If that's the case, then wrestling fans would have a lot to be happy about.
That's it for this week. Please don't forget to comment in the comment box. I enjoy this new addition to the web site a lot and I did read each and every comment. I see that a lot of yall are not to fond of ECW right now buy guys did you see that match between Wang and Moore vs. the Miz and Morrison? It was awesome and everyone should definitely check it out. Well that's it. Come back next week where I believe we will have are end of the year column. Cya!
"but it's ridiculous that Jeff Hardy still has the Intercontinental Title because he could be going into the main event scene"
That's the way it should be Zach. The Intercontinental Title should always be a direct stepping stone from the upper mid card to the main event. See: The Ultimate Warrior, The Rock, Austin.
