Thoughts From The Top Rope 12.18.07: Desire Championship Wrestling
Posted by Daniel Wilcox on 12.18.2007
See what happens when I take hold over a professional wrestling promotion.
Welcome to my one-year 411 anniversary! I did invite some 411 colleagues around for a little party, but Small and Slimmer are still holding hands and now watching Lucha, while the rest of 411 staff seemed to have gone to Samuel Berman's party, leaving just you and me. Which is OK because that means more CRISTAL(~!) for us. Drink up, because you're probably going to need it.
Before hit the bulk of today's column I'd like to apologize for no-showing last night's Raw coverage. It'd been a long day, I'd been up since five and ended up falling asleep at my desk before the show starts. I can only promise the 411 readers I'll not let you down like that again.
Thoughts From The Inbox
While I missed being able to provide my thoughts on wrestling during my hiatus, what I missed more was hearing from my readers, which is why it was great to hear from Samer again this week;
Hey Dan, long time reader Samer here, welcome back...
Thank you for welcoming me back, and also for remembering me|! It's nice to know you care!
Just some thoughts about your votes:
No Jeff Hardy in your breakout of the year? I mean he has really come a long way, especially considering the fact that he's the IC champion, one of the most over wrestlers in the company, and feuding with HHH, and if he wins on Sunday, he'll be the number 1 contender for the WWE title. Not bad for a guy who used to botch spots left and right in his latest stint with TNA, and was highly unreliable. If we ignore his little suspension in the summer, the guy has had a great year. Not to forget about Survivor Series where he ended up as one of the two only survivors with Triple H.
Another one that should have definitely made it is John Morrison. The guy went from being a total jobber, to ECW champion in one night. Keep in mind he was being criminally misused on Raw, with no direction whatsoever, and then just like that, he replaced Chris Benoit at Vengeance and became the ECW (world?) champion. Plus another reason why the guy was a breakout is the whole gimmick change and how well it worked for him.
Breakout of the Year was definitely the category that I had the most trouble with. There were just so many people who I considered; the five guys I named last week, and then the likes of Morrison, Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Tomko, Jay Lethal, Cade and Murdoch and the Motor City Machineguns. For various reasons, these guys didn't make the grade. I think both Hardy and Morrison were tremendously over in 2006 and that could easily have been their breakout year. Then Morrison was misused on Raw despite being one of the top heels. Had Morrison not got busted for steroids and kept the ECW Championship longer, he'd probably make the list, though as an in-ring performer, there is definitely an argument that he should be there. The main reason Hardy isn't there is because he hasn't advanced that much, in my opinon. In the fans eyes, he is still as popular as he ever was. Plus, he ended 2006 as Intercontinental Champion, and a year on he still holds that gold. If the year-end awards had come after Armageddon and Hardy had won, he could also have made the top five.
I think Chris Benoit murdering his family was the story of the year, unless you're focusing on positive stories, then Kenta Kobashi deserves to be mentioned.
There were separate categories; "Story/Surprise of the Year" and "Worst Story/Surprise of the Year," so obviously the Benoit Tragedy would have fitted in the latter. I didn't write about all the awards that were voted for last week because I wanted to focus on the positive and on some categories, I just didn't have much to say.
I liked Taker and Batista's matches, they were all surprisingly awesome, but the feud didn't do much for me. Face Vs Face feuds tend to be kinda boring. It wasn't bad by any means, but just not on par with the matches these two had. I'd go for Cena vs. HBK, too bad we didn't get to see the blow off after HBK's injury. I also think Kong vs. Gail Kim should have been mentioned.
The fact that the matches between Taker and Batista were so good was the only reason I voted for it. The build-up to Mania was pretty pathetic considering what a huge match it should have been, and then two guys who are supposed to hate each other are tag team partners half the time (way too much of that goes on by the way). Some of it was just stupid. But the matches were all great, and in the end, that's what people will likely remember so I figured I'd give it the nod. I agree with Michaels/Cena being the best feud, if it had had the blow-off. Unfortunately, it didn't, but I hope we can look forward to one in the future. Hell, that seems to be the pattern of Cena's feuds – great build, a couple of good matches, heading to the blow-off and someone gets injured. Kong/Kim was good, but I don't think it was better than any of the others I mentioned. It has followed a very similar pattern to Phoenix/Michelle but gets a thousand times as much praise.
Well ROH deserves a spot on the Fed of the year, but given that you don't get to watch their PPV's than i understand why you didn't mention it.
I liked Backlash more than Survivor Series but both were awesome PPV's so good choices there.
Great choices for the Wrestler of the year, although i would pick HBK above Randy Orton.
It's a toss-up I think, but in fairness Michaels missed a fair chunk of the year whereas Orton has been consistently good all year round.
Raw anniversary show:
I think you're being a tad too harsh on the show. Granted it wasn't fantastic or anything, but it was still fun enough.
I can't stand Hogan (he's my all time most hated wrestler), but it was surprising that he showed up after the fall out with Vince earlier in the year. Although Khali must have been happy that for once, there was someone slower than him in the same ring. And someone might want to teach Hogan a difference between a scoop slam and a press slam.
Jim Neidhart and RVD's appearances made me mark out. RVD hasn't been out for so long, but i really miss him. Trish and Sunny are still hot so that was always a good thing.
I can see what you mean about Austin's appearance, especially since it was like his 5th or 6th appearance of the year. Same thing goes for Foley, although i was glad to see him get a pop for a chance, seriously something is dead wrong with the crowd these days. Hornswoggle got a bigger pop than Jericho!!
I think part of the problem was that the show reminded me of everything I miss and it made the product we get nowadays seem really bad in comparison, but in hindsight, I agree that I was probably a little harsh.
The thing is the big names were announced earlier so there was no big surprises apart from RVD, and the problem is that 2 weeks ago rumors started going about the Rock and Bret Hart appearing, which got me marking out just for thinking about it. My favorite talker ever and my favorite wrestler ever. Too bad, because it would have been huge.
My complaints about the show is that there was too much HHH for my liking. And while i found the evolution segment fun, i still think they made it a bigger deal than it really is. They are not the NWO, and certainly not the Four Horsemen, plus Evolution was dominating in Raw's most boring years. I'm not saying they weren't a success, since 2 names were already legends, and the other two names are the world champions now (well till sunday at least).
My second complaint is that there was no mention of Raw's greatest matches. Not even in the flashbacks. This is a wrestling show, and none of the flashbacks featured any wrestling. Raw had some amazing matches through out the years. Hell even in recent years, you had Cena Vs HBK, HBK vs Shelton, Benoit/Y2J Vs Jericho/Austin (although it wouldn't have been mentioned), RVD vs Eddie (ladder match).. It would have been cool to see.
At that time, it didn't really seem like there was that much Triple H because I think the segments that he was involved in (the opening bit and the Evolution reunion) were both fun. The DX reunion was a bit unnecessary but still fun. In fairness, I'd rather Triple H dominate the show than an old-timer like Hogan or Austin.
My biggest complaint is that the show came out at the wrong time. Now there wasn't much they can do, but there was a PPV this Sunday, and every angle leading to the PPV ended up playing second fiddle to the anniversary show. Orton Vs Jericho ended up playing second fiddle to Orton vs Evolution, even if later on Jericho and Orton did have an interaction, same goes for Hardy vs HHH, which was developing nicely, and had a great story with Regal manipulating Triple H by putting a title shot on the line, and it had intrigue, since there might be an HHH heel turn. What did we get on the show? A shot of Jeff watching on TV after Evolution's match was over. I think this hurt the overall build up for the PPV.
I agree with this because Armageddon wasn't well hyped on Raw. However you could look at it like this; the show got a ton more viewers and so what little hype there was might have still got more people than usual to buy the show. But yes, the show would have been better off airing in January.
Apart from that i think it was a fun show.
Great to have you back man, looking forward to your next week's column.
Cheers.
Thanks, Samer!
Hi Daniel
How are you? It's good to see you back as I missed you.
Joel Sterling
Thanks Joel! I'm doing great, except for being shattered as I type this. And yourself?
Thoughts From The Top Rope
Last week I promised I'd book what would be my vision for a perfect wrestling promotion and so here it is. Hopefully you guys like what you read, and also offer suggestions/improvements etc. If this gets good feedback, I'll make the effort to produce a show every week and attach at the end of this column. For now, here's the pilot episode of Desire Championship Wrestling!
The first episode of DCW Turmoil begins now.
Jim Ross and Paul Heyman welcome the audience to the show live from Chicago, Illinois, and say that tonight, history will be made as the first DCW Television Champion will be crowned. That match starts right now.
DCW Television Championship Fatal Four Way – Rob Van Dam vs. Samoa Joe vs. John Morrison vs. Randy Orton
Orton and Morrison attack Joe in the corner. He fights back and Van Dam peels off Morrison, allowing Joe to fight off Orton. RVD takes down Morrison who rolls out of the ring. Orton rakes Joe's eyes and tosses him to the floor. Van Dam gets a quick roll-up on Orton for 1. They stare down but Morrison attacks RVD from behind. The two stomp away at the back of Van Dam until Joe trips Orton and pulls him to the floor where they brawl. Morrison slams Van Dam and goes to the top rope, but Joe climbs on to the apron and pushes him to the floor! Van Dam over now and kicks Joe in the head, sending him to the floor. Van Dam charges and sentons over the top onto Joe and Orton! All three men slowly make it to their feet as Morrison goes back up top… SHOOTING STAR PRESS to the floor takes out all three men! Ric Flair dressed in a classic custom made suit walks down to ringside as we head to our first commercial…
…We're back with Morrison controlling Samoa Joe in a chin lock. The fans get behind Joe who gets to his feet and side suplexes Morrison. Joe whips Morrison into the corner but turns around into a heel kick by Van Dam. Van Dam thrusts a couple of shoulders into the gut of Morrison, back flips and charges with one final shoulder. RVD does the thumb thing but turns around and eats a snap-powerslam from Joe! Joe delivers the face wash to Morrison in the corner and stands tall. Orton comes in from behind and delivers his crooked backbreaker. Orton covers and gets a 2 count. Van Dam flies off the top rope and kicks Orton in the head! Rolling Thunder connects! RVD covers but gets pulled off by Morrison. They exchange right hands. Morrison goes for a kick but gets caught and then takes a reverse kick from Van Dam. RVD goes to the top rope, feeling froggy, but Joe blocks him. Uppercut to Van Dam while perched on the top. Joe grabs Van Dam and nails the MUSCLE BUSTER! One…two…thr-NO! Ric Flair pulled Joe off of the cover! Joe gets in Flair's face, but Flair backs off up the ramp way. Orton nails Joe from behind and puts him down. RKO on the ramp! Joe is down. Back in the ring, Morrison hits Van Dam with the split-legged corkscrew moonsault! He covers and gets the pin on Van Dam @ 14:50!
Winner and first DCW Television Champion, John Morrison ***¾
John Morrison celebrates with his newly won championship. He grabs the microphone.
"This is the beginning of John Morrison's reign as Champion. I will defend this with pride and honour and I shall go undefeated. The championship shall remain in the Palace of Wisdom for eternity, for I am John Morrison, the Shaman of Sexy and the One True Voice of Reality. Love me, hate me, cherish me. Tonight, the John Morrison era begins!
Morrison leaves the ring and walks to the back. Randy Orton is still at ringside, angered and what happened. Referees are trying to help up Samoa Joe. Orton and Flair push all the referees aside. Flair gives Joe a low blow. Orton delivers a second RKO onto the ramp. Ric raises Orton's hand as we head to commercial…
…Kurt Angle is making his way to the ring as we come back from the break. He grabs the microphone and has something on his mind.
"Are you freaking kidding me? I'm Kurt Angle, and you people want me to perform in front of these people? This is a joke. I'm an Olympic Gold Medalist. I signed with this company with the promise of fame and fortune and having my name in lights. This is supposed to be where underappreciated stars come to shine. The only shine in here is on top of the bald guy's head in the third row. This place is disgusting and I wouldn't wrestle here if you paid me fifty thousand bucks a night. Don't you get it? I'm the most sought-after name in professional wrestling history! You guys should be so lucky. I am so officially out of here. And don't think I'll ever be coming back unless it's to rub my future success in each and every one of your faces."
Jeff Hardy's music hits and he makes his way down the ramp and into the ring.
"You know, Kurt, where I come from it's not about what you've done or who you were. It's about what the hell you can do for the people in the audience on any given night, and if you really wanna walk out of here, all of these people will remember you as a choke artist."
Angle retorts, "You're so wrong Jeff Hardy. This people will remember me for the true legend entertainer that I am. They will remember the fact that they came this close to seeing a true American Hero compete, but that chance was snatched away from them because this company couldn't afford to pay a janitor to clean the arena let alone give me what I've earned just by having my name attached to this event."
Hardy fires back, "Hey Kurt, since when do real American Heroes run away from a fight like a pussy?"
Angle has heard enough and he goes after Hardy but his right hand is blocked and Hardy connects with a jawbreaker. Angle stumbles into a Twist of Fate. Hardy climbs to the top but Angle rolls out of the ring before Jeff can deliver a Swanton Bomb. Angle backs up the ramp, as Jeff stands tall. However, Finlay comes in from behind and drills Hardy in the back of the head with a shillelagh. Finlay scoops Jeff up and nails the Celtic Cross. Finlay and Angle stare each other down and we go to a break…
…We return, and JR and Paul Heyman inform the audience that tonight's main event will be Jeff Hardy vs. Finlay in a Windy City Street Fight.
Howard Finkel announces that the following contest is a tag team match, with the winners advancing to a Triple Threat Tag Team Match at Decadence to crown the first DCW Tag Team Champions.
The Acolyte Protection Agency (Farooq and Bradshaw) vs. America's Most Wanted (James Storm and Chris Harris)
The APA make their way to the ring and get attacked on the ramp way, from behind, by Storm and Harris. They stomp away at the fallen Acolytes on the floor but Farooq and Bradshaw start fighting back and all four begin exchanging right hands. Storm charges at Farooq but gets back dropped over the guardrail and hits the concrete. Harris goes low on Farooq though and delivers a low blow. Harris then turns around and eats a thunderous Clothesline From Hell from Bradshaw on the floor! Referees flood down to break up the brawl and the bell is called for. It is announced that this match has been ruled a no-contest.
Winners – N/A (No Contest)
Bradshaw is pissed off and goes over to Finkel and yells at him. Storm from behind, clocks Bradshaw with a beer bottle and leaves him lying. Farooq nails Storm from behind and tosses him into the ring. He calls for a spinebuster but Harris rolls in and knocks down Farooq. AMY beat him up and Storm connects with a super kick. They then hit the Death Sentence on Farooq and leave as we go to a commercial…
…We return and Mr. Wilcox, chairman and owner of DCW, makes his way to the ring, with Miss Maria Kanellis on his arm. He grabs a mic and addresses the crowd. It has been a long journey. Desire Championship Wrestling began as a dream eighteen months ago in my head, and now here we are, in an arena packed with you amazing fans putting on a great show. This would never have happened if it wasn't for each and every one of you people and for that, the boys in the back, the production team, Miss Kanellis and myself thank you. And we promise to reward with the best damn show on earth. Speaking of which, in three weeks time on the 7th of January, DCW will produce it's first ever pay-per-view experience called Decadence. At that show, you will not only see the greatest wrestling available to you, but I will be revealing the man who I have signed to DCW's biggest contract. A true legend of the industry, this man has done it all and now he wants to give something back to the people. So with that in mind, be sure to order Decadence to see all of your favourite stars go to war! Mr. Wilcox and Miss Kanellis leave the ring to a loud round of applause as we hit another commercial…
…Backstage, Miss Kanellis is here to interview Lita, Gail Kim and Mickie James. Lita says that each woman has to try and prove themselves in order to get in the hunt for the DCW Women's World Championship. Mickie agrees but says tonight they all have to be on the same page because they have tough opponents. Kim says if they focus on winning this match, all three of them will be inline for an opportunity at the gold. Lita says it's time to go to war.
Somewhere in the back, Victoria is trying to calm down Awesome Kong who is tearing up a dressing room. Victoria seems to get her calm when Trish Stratus arrives. She says to keep that thing in check because nothing can go wrong tonight or Trish may not get the Women's title that she deserves. She says if they follow her lead it'll be fine.
6 Woman Tag Team Match: Lita, Mickie James and Gail Kim vs. Trish Stratus, Victoria and Amazing Kong
Kong and James start. Mickie gets thrown off after attempting a side headlock. She uses her speed to get behind Kong and goes for a sleeper but Kong pulls her off by the hair. Kong whips her into the corner but misses a charge. James tags Kim who goes to the top rope. Missile dropkick connects but it only staggers Kong! Kim off the ropes but runs into Kong who hoists her up. Kim slides out of the attempted press slam and avoids a clothesline to get to the corner and tag Lita. Lita goes to the top and tries the Litacanrana, but Kong catches her and delivers a powerbomb. Kong wants to cover but Trish tags herself in. Her and Kong argue but Kong steps out. Trish goes for the pin but Kim is in to break it up. All six women in now and they brawl as we go to commercial…
…We come back and Victoria is stretching Lita out in a torture rack. The fans get behind her and she begins to put up a fight so Victoria quickly turns it into a sit-out backbreaker. Trish tags back in now and delivers some stomps to the back of Lita. Scoop and a slam delivered by Trish. She tags in Kong now. Trish turns Lita onto her stomach and instructs Kong to hit a splash. They argue again and Trish leaves the ring. Kong goes for the splash but Lita moves out of the way. Kong tags Victoria who quickly ensures Lita doesn't get to her corner. She posts Lita's back in her knee and stretches her out again. Lita comes back with knees to Victoria's head and creates some separation. Lita charges and tries a head scissors takedown but it is reversed into a sidewalk slam by Victoria. She covers and gets a 2 count. Trish tagged in now and she tries a cover, but it again only gets 2. Trish drags Lita up by the hair and whips her into the corner. She sets Lita up on the top rope and tries for the StratusFear, but Lita blocks it and counters into a powerbomb, from the second rope! Lita and Stratus are both down and need to makes tags. Trish crawls to her corner and tags Kong. Lita tags Gail who charges in and attacks Kong but with little effect. Kim runs right into Kong and goes down. James in now and connects with a spin kick that staggers Kong. She connects with another kick. Kong grabs James now and attempts a powerbomb. She gets her up but Kim pulls Mickie out of it. James and Kim try for a double suplex but Kong reverses and suplexes them both. Lita is back in now and hits a Twist of Fate on Kong! Victoria attacks Lita from behind and tosses her to the floor before following her out. Gail Kim comes off the top with a leg drop on Kong and covers, but Trish breaks it up. Mickie James charges at Trish but gets tossed to the floor. Trish gets the blind tag on Kong and comes in looking for the Stratusfaction on Kim, but she counters into a roll-up for the 3 @ 15:48!
Winners – Lita, Mickie James and Gail Kim ***
Kim, Lita and James celebrate up the ramp way. Kong comes in is pissed off with Trish Stratus. Victoria tries to calm her down and Trish slides out and leaves. Kong grabs Victoria and delivers a sit-out powerbomb! Kong stands over a fallen Victoria as we go to an ad break…
…We return to Samoa Joe getting treated in the trainer's room. We see footage of Randy Orton laying him out earlier tonight. Mr. Wilcox walks in and says Joe looks pissed. He says what went down earlier tonight was uncalled for on Orton's part and Joe will get his chance at revenge when he goes one-on-one with Orton at Decadence. Joe likes the sound of that but he wants Flair too. Wilcox says he gets Flair in the ring next week.
Wilcox leaves and walks down the hall and finds America's Most Wanted looking very pleased with themselves. They ask if they advance to the triple threat tag title match at Decadence because they laid out the APA. Wilcox says that the APA never stay down for long but he'll make a decision next week because he has a lot to think about. But one thing is for sure, America's Most Wanted will not be rewarded for being sneaks and cheats.
We get an introductory montage for A-Train who debuts right after the commercial break…
…Jim Ross and Paul Heyman hype tonight's main event of Jeff Hardy vs. Finlay in a Windy City Street Fight.
A-Train vs. Eddie Bridges
Bridges is a local wrestler from Chi-town. They lock up and A-Train pushes Bridges into the corner. He lifts him up on to the top turnbuckle and knocks him to the floor with a huge right hand. A-Train to the floor now and he hits the Derailer (two-handed sit-out chokeslam) on the floor! He rolls Bridges back in and follows. He then hits the Train Wreck and covers for the 3 @ 1:01!
Winner – A-Train
A-Train stands tall as we go to break…
…Kurt Angle makes his way down to the ring to do guest commentary on the main event.
Windy City Street Fight – Jeff Hardy vs. Fit Finlay
Finlay has his shillelagh and thus Hardy is reluctant early on. He slides out and goes underneath the ring and starts to pull out his own equaliser – a ladder! Kurt Angle sees this and attacks him from behind before he can pull it out. Finlay slides out and puts the boots to Jeff as Angle sits back down. Finlay rolls Hardy in and follows. He takes free shots at Hardy's ribcage before throwing the shillelagh down. He whips Jeff to the corner but gets caught with Whisper in the Wind! Hardy covers and Finlay kicks out at 2. Jeff beats Finlay back into the corner and then connects with his rope-assisted corner dropkick! He drags Finlay out and gets a 2 count. Hardy goes to the floor and grabs a steel chair. Back in and Hardy whips Finlay into the corner and sets up the chair in front of him – Poetry in Motion misses and Jeff takes an ugly bump! Finlay takes the chair and thrusts it into the ribs of Hardy, then brings it down across the back. He puts the chair down and scoop slams Hardy onto it. Finlay rolls to the floor and pulls out a table! He sets it up on across the ring apron and guardrail. Back in and Finlay attempts to suplex Hardy from the ring through the table but Jeff blocks it and suplexes Finlay. Hardy then slides out and gets a trash can from underneath the ring. He stands it up in the ring but Finlay knocks him down from behind. Irish whip to Jeff and he eats a drop toehold onto the trashcan! Finlay slides the trashcan over Hardy's head and proceeds to batter it with the shillelagh! He pulls the can off and covers Jeff for 2! Finlay goes to the floor and steadies the tables. He climbs on the apron and grabs Jeff; he tries to suplex him over again but Jeff counters with right hands to the gut. Hardy grabs a front facelock, leaps and nails a tornado DDT through the table! Both men are down as we go to break…
…We return and there is carnage. Hardy is pulling himself up on the floor using the ring skirt while Finlay is being helped onto a stretcher. Finlay is reluctant to be taken to the back and pushes the medics away. He stands up holding his neck and grabs his shillelagh from inside the ring. He swings at Jeff who narrowly avoids the contact. Hardy with a kick to the gut snatches the shillelagh and knocks Finlay out with it! Hardy rolls Finlay back into the ring then retrieves the ladder! He slides it into the ring and goes after Finlay. He bodyslams Finlay onto the ladder and goes to the top rope. Swanton Bomb misses! Hardy landed back first on the ladder! Finlay slides to the floor again and brings out another table! He slides it into the ring and sets it up. Hardy fights back though and hits a jawbreaker on Finlay. Hardy has a chair now and kills Finlay with it, sending him onto the table! Hardy sets up the ladder perpendicular to the top rope, then he climbs to the top rope. Hardy leaps frogs the ladder but Finlay rolls off the table and Hardy misses the leg drop! The table explodes! Both men are down, but Finlay crawls across and makes the cover, but Hardy kicks out! Finlay can't believe it! He removes the remains of the table from the ring and drags Jeff to the center of the ring. Finlay places the shillelagh on a rung of the ladder, then climbs up the ladder and is on top when Hardy begins to shake it! Finlay retreats a couple of steps as Hardy goes up the other side. Finlay has the shillelagh but Hardy ducks and Finlay drops it. Finlay bounces Jeff's head off the top of the ladder. He tries for a sunset flip but Hardy holds on and Finlay crashes and burns! Hardy turns himself around and look s around – the fans are going crazy! Hardy flies and nails the Swanton from the top of the ladder! One…two…thr-NO! Angle pulled Hardy out of the ring! Hardy and Angle exchange right hands on the floor but Angle kicks out Jeff's knee. He goes for the Ankle Lock but Jeff rolls through and Angle goes into the ring post! Hardy has a chair and drills Angle with it. Hardy back in, but gets nailed with the shillelagh in the ribs! Finlay picks him up for the Celtic Cross, but Hardy rolls through and gets a sunset flip for the 3 @ 23:40!
Winner – Jeff Hardy ****¼
Hardy struggles to his feet and the referee raises his hand, but Finlay attacks from behind. He stomps away at Jeff and Angle is in now and they beat him down. The lights go out and a countdown appears on the tron. At 0, we get massive pyro and the lights come on and Chris Jericho is here! The crowd go ballistic! He charges the ring and Angle bails. Rights to Finlay and he drops Finlay. Step-up enziguri to Finlay connects. Finlay rolls to the apron and pulls himself up – springboard dropkick by Jericho sends Finlay flying! Jericho stands tall.
Mr. Wilcox accompanied by Miss Kanellis walks onto the stage behind Kurt Angle. He says next week, it'll be Finlay vs. Chris Jericho and Kurt Angle vs. Jeff Hardy. The two winners will meet at Decadence to crown the first every DCW World Heavyweight Champion!
End of show.
Order Decadence now! To order the show at no cost, simply send an email to dcw_411@hotmail.co.uk requesting the pay-per-view and it will be sent to you on January 6th 2008! Find out who is crowned the first ever DCW World Champion and more, at Decadence!
And I'm done for another week! Next week is Christmas Day so I doubt I'll be getting many readers, but I'll have the second instalment of DCW Turmoil and some other stuff, maybe. Until then…

I LOVE THIS! APA vs AMW, DUDE THOSE ARE TWO OF MY FAVORITE TEAMS. MAYBE YOU SHOULD TRY AND GET A JOB WITH TNA.

I'd figure you'd book Maria as your valet, you sly dog.

I really enjored your show, however I do have a suggestion for you. It seems the real feud is Hardy/Angle, so why are they facing off on free tv instead of having hardy going over finlay and angle going over jericho then having the main event for decadence be a match between anglw and hardy for the DCW title. Just makes more since.

I bet you scripted the Kanellis-DCW skit on a lonely night and then developed the whole show around it... :-P
J/K. Good Job there. Loved the APA/AMW bit. That's something that hasn't been seen before.
Please work Bret Hart into the show in some capacity. I would love that.
