Final Thoughts
Wow, what a great conclusion to the PPV. Every single match was four stars or over and they all rocked. The Last Man Standing Match was brutal as both men took some sick bumps and Umaga got cut up pretty good. They also utilized psychology with Abyss's leg which eventually led to his loss. The tag match was what was to be expected, which was awesome. The number one contender match went well and it was fun to see how RVD adapted to wrestling without being able to use his legs. RVD barely won and Strong looked like a badass and set up future matches with the after match beat down. The match that stole the show was the main event. t started out slow and picked up steam throughout the match and the final couple minutes were insane. I mean, I honestly had no idea what was going to happen. The near falls led to an amazing finish and Steen went over clean, which is weird for a heel. All in all the PPV was a success and I would give it a perfect 10.0. There were no bad matches and they all rocked.

Next week I get back to what I usually do, which is improv and do something completely against my plans. I might review the TNA PPV, but the card looks skimpy so I will read the reviews first, and then decide if I want to see it. If not, I will just do a usual. Read all the great columns and have fun watching football! Until then, stay classy, 411Mania readers!

You do realize thats not how any real card would be booked anywhere. A lot of bookers have talked about the ebb and flow of a card. That means starting with a flashy match to get the crowd going and then taking them on a roller coaster ride with highs and lows. What you have is finishing the card with four amazing matches, with no rest, no break for the fans. It would be better to put the womens match somewhere in between the last four matches. The fans get a break, and the matches after seem to be better.

While I see where you are coming from, try this on for size. It is MY fantasy booking and if I want all the matches to be kick-ass then I can do whatever the hell I want. Hopefully there are some people out there who grasp the concept of FANTASY BOOKING, IE I can make how unrealistic as I want seeing as how it isn't real. Keep on reading! ;)

I love how you assume that a women's match is an automatic crowd calmer..

It was a 1andhalf star match or so. It was on the first half of the card.

Is this all you do?

Posted By: Ray A (Guest)  on January 06, 2008 at 09:42 PM

Not a bad show, but definitely not a 10.

First off, you hit the "crowd" with too much action, back to back, in the second half of the card.

After the first two matches, the crowd would be work out.

Secondly, and this is assuming this is a 3 hour PPV, is that you put about 157 minutes of wrestling on the card. 157 out of 180 minutes is on pure bell-to-bell time.

That left 23 minutes for all of the introductions and the few backstage segments. There's almost no way that it all fit.

Other than that, an entertaining "show".

Well ROH has some pretty good cards start to finish but nobody tells them they can't do that. And again, it is a FANTASY BOOKING so it can be unrealistic if I want it to be.

Good job. What I took from this more than anything else is that you can capably tell a decent set of stories story that isn't overcomplicated or intelligence insulting within the framework of a series of shows. Hope to see more of this from you at some point in the future.
