Why I Love Wrestling 1.20.07: Internet Clips (Vol. 2: Tag Team Wrestling)
Posted by Jordan Linkous on 01.20.2008
I scour the internet for some videos featuring a few of the best tag teams!
Remember the last time I put a bunch of clips in my columns? Well, I am up to my old shenanigans again. I take a look at tag team wrestling now, past and present!
Why I Love Wrestling
Motor City Machine Guns
Now do you honestly think that I would leave THESE guys off my list? Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley were two of TNA's hottest X-Division stars that were great, but when they were put together (in TNA at least) they were amazing. The team came about after a good showing at Lockdown, TNA decided to put them together. And what happened was totally awesome. They have brought back tag wrestling in TNA, with their crispness with their moves and the innovativeness of their tag team moves. While they are stuck in a feud over the X-Division title (that they don't even have), I feel that (hopefully) TNA will put these guys in a title shot and a money feud ASAP. But, even if they don't get a big push soon, there is no doubt that they are the best team today and one of the best in history, and, in my opinion, there is nobody that is better than them.
The Rockers vs. The Brainbusters
Well I am just knocking out two birds with one stone here, aren't I? The Rockers set the standard for the smaller, more athletic, teams. With they boyish good looks and their high flying arsenal, they were a team that both females and males could enjoy. Both men were extremely talented in the ring and had tons of great matches together. Then we come to the Brainbusters. Tully and Arn were a rough team for anybody to go against, let alone the underdogs that The Rockers were. This match is a perfect example of underdog faces against dickish heels.
The Hardy Boyz
These guys were my favorite wrestlers during the attitude era. While some people liked Stone Cold or The Rock, I would pass them up any day to see The Hardyz bust out some sick moves. They were innovative for the time and their epics in the TLC matches are off the hook. The team was well balanced. You had Jeff, the high flying dare devil. On the other hand, you have Matt, the more conservative, well rounded wrestler. When these two guys are put together, though, you have one helluva tag team.
Brian Kendrick and Paul London
Just like the Motor City Machine Guns, these guys have all the talent in the world but aren't getting the push they deserve. They are agile, acrobatic, and all around awesome. They are extremely talented and have a great arsenal of high flying moves. They just flat out rock and there isn't much more to be said.
Another short column this week but with finals coming up there isn't much time. Hopefully you all enjoyed watching some of the best tag teams out there, past, present, and future. Until next time, stay classy, 411Mania readers.

I agree with just about all of the things on this list. Hell I liked the Hardyz during the Attitude Era too. (Albeit I also liked Al Snow so my judgement isn't that good. I just did Mick Foley's next book's job

I finally got somewhere without a firewall. The Rockers were like the original Hardyz. I never noticed it before, all the high flying, the underdogs, in that video after they clear the ring the rip off there shirts and all the girls start screaming, lol.
