Hidden Highlights
By JP Prag
Issue #127
Hello everyone probably should have gone for a haircut this weekend, and welcome back to Hidden Highlights!!
Hidden Highlights, they are about the little things that make the product great. They are about showing the positive motions all those involved in wrestling do to make a better show. William Regal may bend his opponent's hand backwards just a little bit harder to dish out the pain. Christian Cage may reference a piece of obscure history. Tazz may bring realism to the product by describing an abdominal stretch in detail. The camera operator may take a low shot looking up at the Great Khali to make him look like a true monster. These are all examples of what Hidden Highlights is about.
Every week this article spotlights Hidden Highlights from the biggest shows on television (RAW, ECW of SciFi, iMPACT, SmackDown!, and a PPV or television special if there is one), delves into the past to find the ones never recorded before, and goes beyond to small shows, live events, tapes, and the indy scene to see what no one else sees. This article may have an author, but it is just as much written by the readers and true fans of professional wrestling—those who love what they watch and want to tell the world what they have found.
I am JP Prag, and I bring you Hidden Highlights with one goal in mind: to appreciate all those little things that make a huge difference.
JP: What, were you expecting my intro to be about the SuperBowl? Well it would have been if this entire article were not written well before the game went live! Hopefully I'm feeling elated at my New England Patriots are once again SuperBowl champions and I can go along to all my client in the South telling them how New England rules! Yes, I am well aware that the New Jersey Giants are not in the South. I'm just saying in general, people in the South and Mid-West think their football teams are superior and we have proven them wrong once again.
This week's guest co-host doesn't give a flying flip about this because he is British and it has no bearing on his life. Here once again is the man you see giving his Thoughts From the Top Rope, living the 2,343,453,465,435 incarnation of the Fink's Payload, and hangin' out in the Music Zone with the Greatest Rock News Report: Daniel Wilcox! Dan?
Wilcox: I'll have you know that I am a major NFL fan. As a Packers fan and Pats-hater, I'm not really bothered about the outcome of the Super Bowl either way but just because I'm British doesn't mean I don't follow your little fake football games. And yes, it's totally great to be here!
JP: Wow, you are the first Brit I've met that cared at all for football. For the record, I wanted Green Bay to go to the SuperBowl, too. Of course, I wanted them then to lose to the Pats.
Wilcox: Revenge from 1997?
JP: You know it! In other news, while I was heading home from Greenville, SC, I ran into Kevin Nash at the airport.
Wilcox: Did you powerbomb him?
JP: Funny, that's exactly what JT said.
Wilcox: You called JT when you saw Kevin Nash?
JP: Well, text message, yes. Him, Larry, and a couple of other people actually.
Wilcox: You didn't send me a message!
JP: Ummmm… international text messaging is a little expensive.
Wilcox: Not when you already live over here!
JP: Maybe one day, maybe one day. For now, let's get on with the Hidden Highlights!
Sunday, January 27, 2008 by the Readers via JP
JP: Nope, I did not see John Cena winning the rumble, not from 1000 miles away. As you know, I picked CM Punk because… well, it just would have been different. Remind me one day to tell you about my plan to have Funaki win the Rumble. Anyway, we had quite a few write-ins, so let's get to some!
(3) Shoot up at me:
Via Nate Stephens:
During the Hardy/Orton match, Jeff goes up top for a moonsault to the outside. The camera shoots Hardy from straight below the turnbuckles, which makes the turnbuckle look quite high and dangerous. Kudos to the camera crew!
(2) He works hard for the money:
Via Chris Page:
Another one I picked off was when Vince McMahon was giving his prep talk to Hornswaggle backstage. After Finlay came in, you could see on the wall there was a picture hanging of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. Now we've seen for the past several months that William Regal hangs various British related pictures on the wall at every arena they're at, yet we didn't even see Regal once during the course of the show. Of course, that didn't mean in terms of the storyline he wasn't there doing his job, all it meant was he was off commissioning off camera but he'd still made sure to hang some photos around anyway. Nice touch.
(1) Ran right into that one:
Via Erick Cardona:
A funny hidden highlight (I can't believe no one noticed or cared) was the accidental hard shot Shawn Michaels took to the side of the head by a cameraman after he was eliminated at the rumble. This happened after Shawn ran to the other side of the ring in order to avoid The Undertaker.
Wilcox: It's interesting that Erick brought up that camerman incident, because I noticed on Raw that a cameraman got crushed when Randy Orton shoved Jeff Hardy to the floor during the tag match on Raw. Maybe Shawn had told them to get some revenge for him, or maybe he was wearing Triple H's colors, so they took him out.
JP: There's plenty more below, so be sure to check them out!

Wilcox: Raw was all about setting up No Way Out as we found out that there would be an Elimination Chamber match to determine who would face the WWE Champion at WrestleMania after John Cena decided he could not wait until then to get at Orton. Aside from that, we also got some decent wrestling in the form of two tag team matches, while the rest of the roster including women's and tag divisions are still on that treadmill that never seems to lead to a pay-per-view pay day.
(3) Carlito takes precautions:
The first hidden highlight comes from the match between Cody Rhodes and Carlito. Following the distraction from Hardcore Holly and Santino Marella, Carlito was able to hit Rhodes with the Backstabber. He immediately went for the cover and hooked the inside leg, but Cody's other leg was waving around in mid-air. Carlito, sensing that Rhodes could kick out using the other leg, quickly grabbed the wandering leg to ensure the pinfall. Carlito is a master of these little touches that help to put him over as a clever superstar and this did just that.
(2) Forgetting the plan:
So moments before the tag team main event featuring Chris Jericho and Jeff Hardy battling Randy Orton and JBL, the WWE Champ and Bradshaw had a discussion in the locker room. They talked about potentially facing at WrestleMania and then made a plan for the upcoming tag match – Orton takes care of Hardy and leaves Jericho to JBL. That makes perfect sense as Orton has issues with Hardy and JBL got his ass kicked by Jericho the previous night. The hidden highlight is the fact that they went to the ring and completely forgot the plan as Jericho started the match against… Orton. It just goes to show that even the best laid out plans can go wrong in the heat of battle.
(1) Hey, another trading places match!:
Sticking with the tag team main event, at one point in the match Jeff Hardy and Chris Jericho were in firm control and had just tossed Orton and JBL from the ring as we go to commercial. When we come back from the break, the two teams had switched corners! Now it's very rare to see this sort of thing happen as usually referees ensure teams stay in the right corner but obviously things got so out of hand during the commercial break that the participants literally had no idea where they were.
JP: That switching corners thing comes up again in the write-ins. But did you ever consider that JBL and Orton knew they had a camera on them and gave a false plan to throw off their competitors? They are just evil enough to do something like that!

Wilcox: ECW continues to be the most solid wrestling show on TV right now as we got some good angle advancement in Benjamin/Kane, the Colin Delaney Saga and CM Punk's quest to regain the ECW gold. While the show is seemingly on constant autopilot, it never fails to entertain me.
(3) Raising awareness? A tribute? Or something else?:
Kane and Shelton Benjamin were having a hell of a fun contest in the beginning of this week's show. Now, as someone who pays close attention to detail to superstar's attire in search for Hidden Highlights, I noticed a new design sported by Shelton Benjamin in a rather strange place – the back of his right boot. If you go here, and go to the 5th photo, you can clearly see the design I'm talking about. For those who haven't quite worked out what it resembles yet, here's something to help…
So Shelton Benjamin is sporting the breast cancer logo on his wrestling gear? It would seem that Shelton may have been affected by breast cancer in someway and is maybe using the fact that he is on TV to pay tribute to someone he may know or simply raise awareness and if that is the case, it's awesome. If I'm totally off the mark here, at least his gear is making me think about stuff more important than wrestling.
JP: For the record, Shelton used to also sport the yellow ribbon supporting a fallen soldier. Shelton is all about his ribbons. We talked about that one ad nausium, so I don't want to get into another stink of everyone pointing out Shelton's boot every single week.
(2) Keeping up with the product:
Now I know how this column loves to give props to the production crew because the work that they do more often than not goes unnoticed. That being said, I have to give credit for the people behind the opening video. I'm sure you all noticed that when ECW went to HD, we got a brand new video but in just the second week of ECW HD, there were significant changes. There was a brief clip of Kofi Kingston who had only just debuted, and the final image before we went live was of Chavo Guerrero holding the ECW Championship! I thought that this was terrific work by the production guys to keep up with the product even though they just had a new video the week before.
(1) This guy really is hurt:
I am as big a fan as Colin Delaney as you will find. Who would have thought that watching the same guy get beat up every week could be so entertaining? And they've put over how much this poor kid is hurting each week through the constantly updated video packages and the additional bandages that have left the guy looking like a mummy. This week as Tazz was pointing us all towards the titantron for the highlights from Colin's past matches, he had to physically help Colin turn to face the screen! This was a great touch that went unnoticed by Joey Styles (shame on him) that puts over the top just how badly Colin Delaney is hurting and is a subtle moment that really made that segment that much more entertaining.
JP: Joey noticed it last week when Tazz did the same thing! I thought it was funny that Tazz said he was not the Mummy; the Mummy, of course, is the infamous wrestler from week 2 of ECW. Classic!

JP: Over in TNA-land, it was the night of Tomko as he got video packages and a main event win over the current TNA World Heavyweight Champion Kurt Angle. Do you realize how many times Tomko has won randomly huge matches? Remember when he pinned Samoa Joe shortly after the end of the streak? That's just the kind of guy Tomko is! Speaking of which…
(BONUS) Wife swap:
I wanted to put this one in last week and I was reminded of during Tomko's video package. As Kurt was trying to woo Tomko, he offered the services of Karen Angle. Tomko was not biting, mentioning his own wife. Kurt than said, "This isn't some girl you picked up at a strop club!" I laughed so hard; not because that line was funny, but because the rumors have always been that Kurt met Karen when she was working at a strip club! Self-referential humor usually wins some points with me.
(3) Taking notes:
As you know, we here in Hidden Highlights always like to watch Jim Cornette's office to see what new items he has added. This week as many people in a row broke in, I caught that Jim had installed a white board on the wall near where the door is! Now, in my business we use white boards all the time for planning, brainstorming, and status tracking, so it makes sense that a manager like Jim Cornette would have one. Of course, Jim's board was completely empty and didn't look like it had been used at all. But at least the eraser was still there with the board, because that is usually the first thing to disappear (followed by every color marker except yellow).
(2) Now I know it is a rule:
Earlier in the evening, the Rock & Rave Infection got a much needed win (their first win?) over Scott Steiner and Petey Williams. And Petey… yikes. Anyway, during the match, Mike Tenay started going over all the many changes that have happened in TNA recently. One of the ones he mentioned was that titles no longer change hands on a DQ! Well, now we all know that the rule has changed and it is official. It's a shame, because I happened to like that rule as it forces bookers to not have DQ endings. Ah well, now everything that happened in Canada has been explained away.
(1) Take a picture of me:
At the beginning of the night, Team 3D and Johnny Devine were making their way down to the ring to run down the Motor City Machine Guns and Jay Lethal. As Team 3D was still making their way down the ramp, something caught my eye that was happening just off in the upper corner of the screen. Johnny Devine had stopped on the ramp where a fan was holding a pretty fancy camera. Reading his lips, I could hear Devine say, "Take a picture of this!" He then proceeded to pose for a picture with the title and check out the results of the picture on the camera before moving on. That was so awesomely conceded and heelish, yet so completely off-screen, that I could not let it go by without giving it some props!
Wilcox: So, Kurt Angle's wife used to be a stripper? And we have no footage of that? Damn, it's stuff like this that makes the world a sadder place to live in.
JP: I don't know if she was a stripper. The rumor is that she "worked" in a strip club, which could have made her a waitress or bouncer or bartender or something.

JP: I'm going to call this episode of SmackDown! the night of unadvertised huge matched. Larry likes to talk about how companies (especially TNA) give away big matches without any build leads to no money. I have to say, SmackDown! did the same this week giving up a PPV rematch (Ric Flair vs. MVP), a huge match involving champions (Rey Mysterio and CM Punk vs. Chavo Guerrero and Edge), and a return of a tag team for the first time in six months (Undertaker and Kane vs. Mark Henry and Big Daddy V). I'm fine with giving these matches away, but they did it with no build! Not even during the show! I know it's WrestleMania season, but still, those guys deserve to have themselves get some build, especially Ric Flair.
(3) That's history:
Speaking of Ric Flair, something interesting happened during his match with MVP. As the two were tangling, Michael Cole mentioned that Flair was also a former 5-time United States Champion. Now that is a nice bit of history that is often not brought up. Announcers like to talk about top title reigns, but they sometimes forget the other titles people have captured along the way. Kudos to Michael Cole for bringing up that little piece of solid history.
(2) My knee, my knee, why me?:
I swear I have used that title before. I'm also pretty sure I used it for Rey Mysterio. Either way, I'm doing it again. As Edge and Chavo took on Mysterio and Punk, Edge was in the ring with Mysterio when he managed to knock him down so that Mysterio was on his back with both of his legs draped on the second rope. As Edge argued with the ref to get his attention, Chavo just ran over kicked Mysterio in the left knee, the one he had surgically repaired! The announcers (and almost the cameras) completely missed it, but did notice that Mysterio was limping shortly after this. That was the cause, and it shows how smart and evil Chavo really is, especially taking advantage of an open spot so swiftly.
(1) Another kick to the head:
In another moment of sneaky kicking, the R-my of Ryder and Hawkins took on Jimmy Wang Yang and Shannon Moore. Late into the match, Shannon Moore had thrown Hawkins against the rope. On the outside near the same spot, Jimmy Wang Yang had done a flying move at Ryder on the outside and was picking his opponent up off the ground. Very quickly and just out of SD camera ranger, Hawkins kicked Jimmy Wang Yang in the back of the head so that Wang could not hurt his partner nor interfere in the match. Nice work by Hawkins there to take Wang out and go on to win the match. Why should you wait for someone on the outside when you can take them out while they are standing right there?
Wilcox: Some good kicking action there, but no love for the Edgeheads utilizing an inverted version of one of Edge's signature move? That had to be one of the most blatant Hidden Highlights of all time!
Hidden Highlights are not just about what was written above, but about what you have seen as well. This article strives to not only spotlight the best Hidden Highlights, but to engage you, the viewers, and make you the best audience in the world.
JP: If only we get half of the Hidden Highlights for Against All Odds that we got for the Royal Rumble. So, *GENERAL WARNING*:: some parts of the following Reader Write-in Hidden Highlights may be edited for grammar, spelling, and English translation…
Continuing the Royal Rumble fun is Greg:
First, a HH from the Rey vs. Edge video package before the actual match. About midway through, when they're showing highlights of Rey's beat the clock match, some epic music cues up. The music in question? The final battle overture composed specifically for season seven of Buffy the Vampire Slayer! It's more of a HH if you take into account that the portion of music we hear at the Rumble originally played when Buffy and crew are winning their big fight despite overwhelming odds. Very similar situation for Rey Mysterio during that Beat the Clock challenge.
JP: I never really watched that show, so I'll have to take your word for it!
Second, when Edge went to pin Rey, he held Rey's outstretched hand down, making it just a little bit more difficult for Rey to kick out (which he didn't). A simple, yet effective move that I hadn't noticed anyone use before.
JP: I've actually seen that a few times, but you are right, it is simple and effective. That is the exact type of stuff that we love in these pages.
Third, backtracking a little bit, during the JBL vs. Jericho match, Jericho hits JBL with a sick chair shot. What made it more powerful, and this is the HH, is that the camera stayed on JBL the whole time Jericho was in the process of grabbing and swinging the chair. Holding on JBL made the shot seem like it came out of nowhere, and having the camera so close made the actual hit look more fierce than it probably was. Kudos to the director and the camera people.
JP: Those directors and producers working for the WWE are some of the smartest in the business. I hope they can continue to keep up the tricks as HD becomes more prevalent.
The fourth goes to the WWE's great, great editing team. I don't know if anyone ever watches the replays after the live show, but I kept it on as I was catching up on some writing and I noticed tiny changes in the camerawork. To cite one example, I remembered the camera angle being different when Cena turned after eliminating Mark Henry. It was a small difference and probably was a change of about a second or two, but the different angle worked better somehow. There are probably dozens of minute changes the editing guys made while the broadcast was still airing, all to make the product look just a little bit better.
JP: I try to put over that those production people are on the road just as much, if not more, than the wrestlers and don't make nearly the same amount of money. Actually, they are probably paid pretty low for industry average. I wonder what the average work-lifespan is for a WWE production person?
Remembering that makes me think of the ending montage at Wrestlemania XX. I was amazed at how fast they were able to string together all those moments with the song, especially since they only had a minute or two to throw in clips from the main event.
JP: I think they actually build most of it during the show and then tack on the last couple of clips as the song starts up. Still, that is wicked quick turn-around. Sticking with the Rumble is John Madigan:
Around the end of the MVP/Flair match, MVP hit his big boot in the corner & then for a pin. He originally went to hook the leg nearest to the ropes before hooking the far leg, allowing Flair to break up the pin using the ropes. Good instincts in MVP wanting to hook the near leg as it would normally be the right thing to do.
JP: It's a shame he was forced to not do what was the smart thing!
My other HH involves the return of the IWC's favorite wrestler, John Cena. As shown multiple times, HHH looked shocked as he saw Cena come out as #30. Nobody else in the ring even reacted slightly to Cena's music. Except for one person - Carlito. Carlito, who had been beating on Chavo at the time, immediately turned around and looked shocked, even more so than HHH. Whether or not his new push is the reason, it's good to see him caring about what he does in a wrestling ring again, whether it's on camera or not.
JP: Are we sure Carlito is getting a push? I hope he does, especially for things like this. Now let's go a little back in time with last week's ECW and Josh Huff:
During the five-man Rumble hype match, Kane was down while Miz and Morrison worked over Benjamin in the corner. Kane sat up to a huge pop. Miz continued stomping on Shelton, but as soon as Morrison heard the crowd noise, he spun around and reacted quickly, attempting to lay into Kane with a boot.
JP: I like ones where people listen to the crowd or watch the HD-tron. Those are all things that make so much sense to do! Going ahead to RAW we have Adam S:
I was just watching the Main Event of tonight's Raw, during JBL's entrance. I don't know if you've noticed, but JBL's fancy HD entrance includes a little stock ticker that goes across the bottom of the screens on the stage. I happened to notice that one of the stocks in the ticker is "PYRO", and the PYRO stock happens to be on an uptick.
This, of course, makes sense with JBL's grand entrances in his re-debut on Raw a few weeks ago.
JP: Oh my goodness have I ever! I've been trying to read all of the tickers to see what is going up and down. I'll have to watch it on slow-mo next week to catch them all. Maybe I'll make it a Hidden Highlight! Chris Jacobs noticed the same thing you did, and a few more:
In the tag match from Raw Cody Rhodes is learning respect from Bob "Sparkplug" Holly as when he gets into the ring he gives that subliminal sign of respect of wiping his boots on the apron so he wont bring crap into the ring.
JP: I think also the respect for his father! By the way, I always watch to see what wrestlers wipe their feet. ODB is one of them, in case you didn't notice.
MVP at the PPV against Flair, after he hits the top rope superplex, most guys just lay there and slowly make the cover like it drives the wind out of them, MVP takes it one step further as he grabs the back of his head in pain, as anyone that falls backwards a good four feet and lands shoulder first would do.
JP: That reminds me of an old Mad Magazine that asked questions like why does it hurt when a wrestler jumps off the top rope and lands on a padded ring but doesn't hurt when they land on the bones of another person? MVP must have read that issue. Just like my favorite radio producer Jadd Naamani:
Hey man, found a couple Hidden Highlights from RAW that I thought I'd pass along. Coincidentally, they both involve Santino and his a-Maria. First one was during the match Carlito had with Cody Rhodes... after Cody knocked Carlito to the outside and Santino and Maria were checking on him, Maria had an apple in her hand. Like the gem she is, she walks near him and says "Santino...will this apple make you feel better?" or something like that. It was genius and just shows she's cute, innocent, and soon she'll be NEKKID!!!
JP: It still feels too soon to see her naked, like she could be a bigger star and worth so much more. I hope they don't overdo her like they did Ashley. Ashley used to have… I won't say natural… but less dolled-up look. I'm just not into her at all anymore.
Second one was during Maria's match with Melina... after Melina face-planted Maria into the turnbuckle, all you hear from Santino is "NOTTT DA FACCEE!! NOT DA FACE!" Nice touch from Santino, because instead of just giving the usual "ouch" look that a wrestler on the outside of the ring gives while watching a match, he showed he didn't want his beautiful Maria to be de-beautified. Now that I think about it, right after that JR said that Santino sees her as an investment. A little hint to everyone that Maria is gonna say yes?
JP: Oh, I could hear Santino screaming a mile away, and it was hilarious! First timer Amit Mistry give his hand at the shows:
For both the DX pyro chops and their post match pose, HHH was the one that either started the countdown or initiated the pose.
JP: What are you saying? The Shawn doesn't want to be "vulgar" yet is willing to profit off of the vulgarity of other? The sure sign of hypocrite?
In perhaps the biggest one I noticed from Raw so it's not really hidden just stupid, during the main event, the team of Hardy and Jericho were in the corner to the top left when watching on TV, then coming back from the commercial break, they had moved to the heel's corner and now Orton and JBL were in the top left corner.
JP: Must have been some serious pacing going on during the commercial break! But Wilcox caught this, too, so it is all good.
When Shelton had a single leg Boston crab or whatever on Kane and they zoomed in on Shelton's face, his head blocked the part of Kane's boot that had the lifts in it to make him taller.
JP: Kane needs to look taller? I'm only 5' 4", everyone is tall to me.
After Kofi Kingston won and was celebrating, when he climbed up onto the ropes, for 2-3 seconds you could see the Tron area which had the Jamaican flag on top of the actual Tron and since the camera was showing the Tron, it kept repeating and repeating so there were like 5 Jamaican flags.
JP: I saw that again with Chuck Palumbo on SmackDown!. The infinity effect is quite amusing, even if it is an accident. Not an accident is Gary Graham:
I have another Hidden Highlight for you involving the new King of Hidden Highlights. It stems Mr. RKO himself Randy Orton from this past week's Raw. On his way to the ring for the tag match, as soon as he got came out he kept looking behind him every few seconds. Why? Because if you recall Cena said at the beginning angle between them he'd be out there sometime at the end of the show. Randy 'remembered" that so he kept looking back in case Cena would attack him. I thought that was cool and just another little thing that he does so well.
JP: Gary, it's good stuff and I like you man, but your grammar could use some work. I fixed it up as best I could to leave the original thoughts in there, but yikes! We'll finish this off with regular Nick Noel and some E-C-dub:
Tazz Makes Up Body Parts – I felt sorry for Kane when Shelton Benjamin kept attacking his "collateral ligament".
JP: There must have been something real that Tazz was thinking of that he totally missed! You know how he is…
Truly The Guru Of Greatness – Morrison manages to keep his gum during the whole "match" against Colin Delaney. I know lots of wrestlers do it, but the cocky way he was chewing it really played into his character.
JP: I think DDP used to that too during the early day. But as much as I like DDP, I do have to say I think Morrison is a better wrestler. But if I want yoga, I know who to go to!
Wilcox: Some great stuff from the readers as always. I caught the "wiping the boots" one from Cody and thought it was a great touch. As far as chewing gum during matches, I noticed Kennedy kept his during his squash match with Kendrick this week and Shawn often has some before a match to purposefully spit it out during a match to allow King to get in his "was that a tooth that just flew out?" line.
Do you have a Hidden Highlight from this or any week in history that you would like to share? Please e-mail this article at lookforme@mikefine.com with your thoughts! Send them by Saturday afternoon to be considered! And remember, they can be from any show, live or taped, or any house show, or anything you saw… readers just like to know!
JP: Thanks again to Daniel Wilcox for filling in this week. We certainly needed the A+ effort after… well… anyway, it was good having you back!
Wilcox: It was really good to be back; being part of the Hidden Highlights experience is always a pleasure. And I really mean it this time.
JP: Well, I guess we both have a game to go watch, and I have to be up at 4am on Monday, so here's to no sleep!

shelton has a yellow ribbon, and that is to signify that you are waiting on someone. they use it mostly for the military and prison. it was used way back in the day to let someone who has been gone where to find thier family.

Very good issue JP; you still should have powerbombed him... damn your pants!

a yellow ribbon signifies support for the troops.

Colin Delaney vs. The Mummy .. book that shit!!

Even though I did not ECW and the highlight about Tazz and the collateral ligament. I thought I would let you know that there is a medial collateral ligament in the knee and this particular ligament is one of the more freequent injuries in the NFL. so maybe Tazz was talking about how the move was affecting that particular ligament

A great hidden highlight for SmackDown! was the finish in the Finlay/Hornswoggle tag match. When Hornswoggle went for the pin he didn't just use a standard lateral press, he added a Finlay-style forearm to the face.
Posted By: Jappe (Guest) on February 04, 2008 at 12:21 PM
Shawn Michaels actually dropped his chewing gum during the rumble. Just after giving the Undertaker a second atomic drop. He casually picked it up from the mat and put it back in his mouth.
Posted By: JO (Guest) on February 04, 2008 at 12:27 PM
He put the gum back in his mouth?
That's disgusting. After a bunch of sweaty dudes have been rolling around on the mat? That's a great way to get ringworm or some junk.

Have you kids never heard the classic song "Tie a yellow ribbon around the old Oak tree"? The ribbon thing has been around forever, someone just saw a dollar sign at the thought of the magnet. I wish I had thought of it.

I have a HH from SD. When MVP reversed the fig.4 on Flair, and Flair got to the ropes, the ref told MVP to break it. MVP said to the ref,"The only thing I am going to break is his leg!" Talk about perfect for the character.
Posted By: Capt. Smooth (Guest) on February 04, 2008 at 06:55 PM
I recently found a HH from SD! this week when i went back to watch it. During the match w/ the Rated Rmy and Wang/Moore, i noticed Zack Ryder nod his head up and down as the ref was counting his pins. then i remembered that Edge often does the same thing, most notably when he's about to win a title. i thought it was a nice touch my Ryder to do something Edge often does.
