The Piledriver Report 5.07.08: What DVDs Should the WWE Release Next?
Posted by Ronny Sarnecky on 05.07.2008

Late last year, the WWE announced their 2008 DVD release schedule. Aside from the upcoming pay per view releases, in the remainder of the year, the WWE will be releasing the following DVDs:

The Rock: The Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment
The Best of Starrcade
SummerSlam: Complete Anthology Box Set
The Life and Times of Mr. Perfect
Complete Hell (Hell in the Cell DVD)
Edge
Randy Savage: Macho Madness
Sting

Since the WWE released those titles, they have cancelled the Randy Savage and Sting DVDs. While it is understandable as to why the WWE would cancel a Sting DVD, with him working in TNA. It still remains a mystery as to why the WWE refuses to have anything to do with the "Macho Man."

So far this year, the WWE has released "Triple H: The King of Kings" and "The Legacy of Stone Cold Steve Austin," which were matches only DVDs. They also recently released "Twist of Fate: The Matt and Jeff Hardy Story," which was a combination biography/matches DVD. All three DVDs were up to the WWE's usual high standards.
Despite the titles that have been released, and are about to be released this year, the WWE still has plenty of work to do in the DVD department.

This edition of "The Piledriver Report" takes a look at which DVDs the WWE should look at creating for the 2009 calendar year. The two most obvious DVDs are the two DVDs that were taken off this year's schedule in Sting and Randy Savage. Both should be biography/matches DVDs.

The Sting DVD: This DVD has to include the Clash of the Champions I match with Ric Flair that put Sting on the map. His first title win over Ric Flair, and his title chase and victory over Hulk Hogan are a must as well. Some lesser-seen matches like Sting and Lex Luger's Crockett Cup finals victory would be great. Hopefully, by this time, the WWE can buy the old Mid-South/UWF. This way we can see some Sting/Ultimate Warrior tag team footage.

Randy Savage: Macho Madness DVD: While I would love for this DVD to include the real reason for Vince's hostility towards Randy Savage, at this point, I would just settle for a non-Macho bashing DVD. In other words, I don't want a "Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior" type smear campaign. I want a straight shooting DVD that will honor the great career of one of professional wrestling's best performers. As for matches, of course, it should include his WWF World title victories over Ted DiBiase and Ric Flair. The WWE should also add his Intercontinental title win over Tito Santana, his match against the Honky Tonk Man that turned him into a face, the match against Bret Hart on the following edition of Saturday Night's Main Event, and his "retirement" match against the Ultimate Warrior. Like Bret Hart's DVD, I would also like to see some rare footage, as well. They should throw in one of his December 1985-February 1986 Madison Square Garden matches against WWF World Champion Hulk Hogan. Give us some real old school, Jerry Lawler vs. Randy Savage matches from his Memphis days. The WWE can add some of his WCW matches. For extras, they can air footage from his WWF entrance when every manager was after him, but he signed with Miss Elizabeth.

WarGames: The Match Beyond DVD: For some odd reason, the WWE refuses to pay homage to one of the greatest gimmick matches ever created. It's no mystery as to why. It's because it was a Crockett Promotions created gimmick, and not a Vince McMahon creation. Even Triple H has tried to talk Vince into running a WarGames match on one of their shows, but to no avail. A WarGames DVD could be a great DVD for old school fans, and newer fans who never heard of WarGames. There could be a short documentary portion in the beginning of the video, where they talk to the Crocketts, Dusty Rhodes, and Ric Flair about what led to the creation of the match. Other interviews can feature past performers of WarGames where they give their thoughts on the greatest steel cage gimmick until the Hell in the Cell match. Since there have only been 13 WarGames contests, the WWE can include each match on the DVD. The more famous matches would include: The Four Horsemen (Flair/Luger/Arn/Tully/JJ Dillon) against the Road Warriors/Nikita Koloff/Dusty Rhodes/Paul Ellering. Dusty Rhodes, Lex Luger, Steve Williams, Nikita Koloff, and Paul Ellering against The Four Horsemen (Flair, Blanchard, Arn, Windham, and JJ Dillon). Sting's Squadron (Sting, Nikita Koloff, Dustin Rhodes, Ricky Steamboat, and Barry Windham) vs. The Dangerous Alliance (Arn Anderson, Bobby Eaton, Steve Austin, Larry Zbyszko, and Rick Rude).

Starrcade: The Complete Anthology Box Set: This year, the WWE is giving the fan's The Best of Starrcade DVD. Why not give us the whole thing? After all the "Granddaddy of the Supercard" is what helped pave the way for shows like WrestleMania. There were eighteen Starrcade supercard telecasts. From the inaugural show on November 24, 1983 called Flair For the Gold (headlined by NWA World Champion Harley Race vs. Ric Flair) up until December 17, 2000's final Starrcade (featuring WCW World Champion Scott Steiner against Sid Vicious), this box set should include every match in its entirety.

Title vs. Title: Unification DVD: Have you ever wondered what would happen if the WWF Champion faced off against the NWA Champion? There was a time when champions from different companies would face each other. Harley Race fought "Superstar" Billy Graham, as well as Bob Backlund. Bob Backlund fought Ric Flair. Flair also fought AWA World Champion Rick Martel. Don't forget the time AWA World Champion Jerry Lawler faced off against World Class Champion Kerry Von Erich. Plus, this DVD can include inter-federation unification matches, such as WWF World Champion Hulk Hogan against the WWF Intercontinental Champion the Ultimate Warrior, not to mention various WWF World vs. WWF Intercontinental champion house show matches from the late eighties up until present day. The NWA/WCW had their share of unification matches. NWA World Champion Ric Flair fought NWA US Champion Lex Luger in a series of matches. NWA US Tag Team Champions the Midnight Express feuded with NWA World Tag Team Champions Tully Blanchard/Arn Anderson.

The Complete History of the WWF/E World Championship DVD Box Set: While the WWE had already put a "History of the WWE Championship" DVD, it was incomplete. The version that I am suggesting would include every WWWF/WWF/WWE World title reign. This would be a nice box set for the fan who loves to mark out over the words "and new World Heavyweight Champion of the World…."

Tag Teams of the Eighties DVD: The WWE has given us "The Greatest Wrestling Stars of the Eighties." How about the greatest tag teams from that golden era of tag team wrestling? The eighties were filled with unbelievable tag team competitors. The three versions of the Midnight Express, the Rock n' Roll Express, the Rockers, the Wild Samoans, the Moondogs, the British Bulldogs, the Hart Foundation, Tully Blanchard/Arn Anderson, the Fantastics, the Fabulous Ones, the Freebirds, DOOM, the Road Warriors, Demolition, Youngblood/Steamboat, and the Andersons would all be highlighted throughout the DVD.

Terry Funk: Hardcore Legend DVD: With WrestleMania XXV in Houston, TX next year, there are already rumors that the "Funkster" may be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. With his Hall of Fame push, comes a marketing push that includes a DVD. This DVD would definitely include a lengthy biography. There should be a humorous look at all of Terry Funk's "retirement" matches, along with footage of each one. As for the match portion of the DVD, if possible, the DVD should include his NWA World and ECW World title victories. The DVD should include his series of matches against Ric Flair, the very first three-way dance against Shane Douglas and Sabu, hopefully an exploding an exploding death match against Mick Foley from Japan, throw in a house show or two against the Junk Yard Dog, a match against Dusty Rhodes, and the "Born to be Wired" barbed wire affair against Sabu in ECW.

Crockett Country: The History of Mid-Atlantic Promotions and WCW DVD: This should be packaged similar to the "Rise and Fall of ECW." Feature the major players in this documentary from the era. The Crocketts, Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Eric Bischoff, Vader, Hulk Hogan, Sting (if available), Lex Luger, Ricky Steamboat, Nikita Koloff, Jim Ross, and many of the top stars and backstage personnel that helped lead the company. They shouldn't use this as a WWE vehicle at revisionist history, but as a true documentary of the WWE's greatest competitor. Along with the documentary, there should be matches in the DVD. The region is littered with fantastic matches. Flair vs. Steamboat, the Midnight Express vs. the Rock n' Roll Express, the Road Warriors vs. the Steiner Brothers, Sting vs. Flair, Lex Luger vs. Flair, and the late nineties cruiserweight division that battled with each other in the late nineties. The final match on the DVD should be the Ric Flair vs. Sting match from the final Nitro broadcast.

Dragon Fire: The Story of Ricky Steamboat DVD: Another DVD that should correspond with a 2009 Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Ricky Steamboat is one of the greatest workers in the history of the business. This DVD should be a reflection of this. After a biography that discusses the career of one of the few wrestlers to never work heel, despite wrestling professionally for eighteen years. This DVD should include his Intercontinental title victory over Randy Savage at WrestleMania III, as well as his NWA World title victory against Ric Flair. His Iron Match contest against Rick Rude at Bash at the Beach remains a personal favorite of mine. It would be cool to throw in some old Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat battles for the NWA TV and US titles in the late seventies/early eighties. Plus, his legendary tag team feud pitting himself and Jay Youngblood against Gene and Ole Anderson should make the list. His final US title victory against Steve Austin should close out the match portion of the DVD.

Superfly: The Jimmy Snuka Story DVD: Jimmy Snuka was an innovator in the world of professional wrestling. When fans think of highflying wrestling in the history of sports entertainment, Jimmy Snuka's name is always near the top of the list. A biography featuring Snuka, as well as performers that were influenced by the "Superfly," like Mick Foley, should be included. A unique view should be SmackDown's Deuce talking about growing up with the "Superfly" as a dad. Talk would also have to include his substance abuse problems, as well as the night his girlfriend died under mysterious circumstances. Matches would include his two classic steel cage matches from MSG against WWF World Champion Bob Backlund and Intercontinental Champion Don Muraco. An extra feature would include Snuka's famous appearance on "Piper's Pit" interview segment. Since Snuka never tangled with Piper on any pay per view or "Saturday Night's Main Event," the WWE would need to go through their house show vault to find a match to put on the DVD between the two. From his AWA days, they could give us a match against Col. DeBeers, who he feuded with. How about this for some history? The tape should include his match with Salvatore Bellomo from April 25, 1992 when he became the first World Champion in ECW (then Eastern Championship Wrestling) history.

"Break the Walls Down:" The Rise of Chris Jericho DVD: Out of all of the main event wrestlers in the WWE, Chris Jericho is the only wrestler who has been around for awhile that does not have a career DVD retrospective made for him. The biography should combine everything from his "Lion's Tale" autobiography, and include his run in the WWF/E, his retirement when he concentrated on his music and Hollywood aspirations, as well as his current WWE run. Since the WWE owns video from every territory that Jericho has competed in, the match selection should be plentiful. Since Lance Storm has their first match of their career on tape, the WWE should ask for permission to use that for Jericho's DVD, just like they have Triple H's first ever match on the "King of Kings" DVD. It would be really cool to see how far Y2J has come since his days at the Hart Brothers Pro Wrestling School. The WWE could include some promos and matches of the two from their tag team days in Smoky Mountain. If they could get permission, some Japan Super J Cup matches would be great. Then you have his ECW run, as well as his WCW Cruiserweight run. In the WWF/E, you would have to include his promo against The Rock where he debuted. Both matches where he unified the WWF and WCW World titles need to be on there, as does the match from the April 17th, 2000 RAW episode where he beat Triple H for the WWF belt, only to have it stripped from him minutes later. His matches with Edge, Shawn Michaels, Christian, The Rock, and John Cena should be included, as well. However, the WWE should try to include some house show matches, instead of just the usual pay per view encounters.

Shooting the Breeze with…. DVD: These can be a series of DVDs in which past and present WWF/E Superstars sit down with Jim Ross for a Shoot Interview on their careers. These should be produced similar to the RF Video or Ring of Honor Shoot Videos. The only problem is that the wrestlers being interviewed may not want to bite off the McMahon hand that feeds them. However, if they were able to be completely honest without having to bash their employer, this series of DVDs could prove interesting viewing material.

These are just some of the many DVDs the WWE should seriously think about making. If the WWE even uses half of the suggestions on this list, then the fans should have a lot of great videos to watch over the next couple of years.

I will always think dvds shouldnt come out until the wrestler is on his way out. It seems best to have one awesome dvd cover an entire career instead of two or three that are just thrown together.

The best of title changes would not be the best idea. there have been over 40 title changes in the tv era. How are they going to decide the best, all of Rock and Stone Colds? Cena's victory when people actually liked him?

They'd also have to throw in a lot of the gimmicky title changes, just to keep the DVD interesting.

In the horrible ww'e' magazine as it is now, they made fun of wargames in it. Was too good for the crap they give us now.

The reason Vince hates Macho is Macho slept with an underaged Stephanie. Vince didnt find out until Macho was in WCW, thats why Vince gave Macho a decent send off when he left. But when Vince found out he wanted to kill Macho.

I dont care if they do a "macho is a crazy bastard" dvd - as long as they put a huge load of matches and extras on it.

I dont think they should bring out a Ricky Steamboat, Terry Funk or Jimmy Snuka dvd because they wont sell that well.

I agree with the poster that they shouldnt bring out a wrestlers dvd until they are on their way out and I also think it's better to finish the dvd on a high note.

I will get the rock, triple h and edge sets. It's just a shame that they will probably cut all matches with christian out.

Dave Juk your opinion sucks, Id buy the Steamboat Dvd in a heartbeat

I would kill to have a Smackdown Six DVD set but with "He Who Shall Not Be Named" being one of the six, I just cant see it happening.

With WrestleMania 25 being in Texas, not only do I see a Terry Funk HOF induction, but also a DVD set for him as well.

Ricky Steamboat is quite possibly the most overrated wrestler ever.

Survivor Series (I think will come next year)

Ricky Steamboat

I would love a Crockett Cup set for the 3 or 4 years that was around

If they did a Sting DVD, it would have to also include at least one match with his feud with Vader, as none of them were less than 3 1/2 stars.

Also, I think it would be cool to have a DVD called "Ultraviolence: The Wildest Brawls in Wrestling History" Since they have a wide range of stuff to choose from, they could go into the NWA, WCW, ECW and WWF/E. Matches I'd include would be Cactus Jack & Kevin Sullivan v. Nasty Boys, Funk v. Sabu Barbed Wire Match where Sabu wins the title, Rock v. Mankind I Quit, Austin v. HHH 3 Stages of Hell, Crazy v. Tajiri Mexican Death Match from ECW TV, and of course a whole bunch of other ECW brawls that didn't make it to the other DVD sets.

For 2009 they need to do a Survivor Series anthology DVD set.

DaveJuk, have you ever watched a Ricky Steamboat classic or a Terry Funk hardcore match? Those DVDs are what REAL fans want to see. Come on. Funk vs. Sabu, Ric Flair, Shane Douglas, Raven, Mick Foley, and Harley Race would be a good collection on its own. Ricky Steamboat vs. Randy Savage, Jake Roberts, Ric Flair, Steve Austin, and Honky Tonk Man would be a great collection on its own.

I'm personally hoping for a British Bulldogs DVD someday, but I'm not sure how likely that is. Between Davey Boy's death and DK's being crippled, broke, bitter and a life-long asshole, it would be a tragic tale for sure, but the MATCHES! And we've got plenty of people on good terms (Bret especially) who might be willing to help with the doc part. I'm not sure that it would sell huge, but it would do better than the WCCW set and probably match the upcoming Mr. Perfect set (which is a definite purchase for me).

You won't see WarGames because Vince didn't think of it. You won't see Starrcade box set because Vince would have to admit that he didn't think of a supercard first, and that Starrcade was older thwn WrestleMania. A Crockett Country DVD would just be Vince and Co. bashing JCP because that's how Vince is. I would jump on Sting Steamboat and Savage like white on rice in a glass of milk on a paper plate in a snowstorm.

WHere'd you hear that story, JG? Never heard that one before and I've heard quite a few crazy things on Savage.
I do hope a DVD might come on him. I remember on the Warrior DVD Hogan talked about how Savage was a detail freak who wanted to make sure everything about a match was perfect. It would be good to highlight that.

I'm so with you on a Steamboat DVD, he works with the company and all, it would be easy to get out and the tag team one is good too. I would have said a while ago a Crockett one might not happen but then Vince gave AWA and WCCW a fair shake so you never know.

I heard they were hoping to do either a new Bret set or one on Stampede but Vince and Bret had trouble again with terms and such. Not to mention be hard to talk on Stampede's later years without talking about Benoit. Plus, I know Owen's widow owns a lot of footage on him and naturally wants nothing to do with Vince.

Personally, shocked they haven't come up with one on Jerry Lawler as he was so dominant in Memphis for over 20 years. Hell, you could do half an hour just on the Andy Kaufman feud. Plus, I'd like to see History sets on the IC and tag team titles.

Overall, good selection. Still annoyed Angle and Booker T left before they could get DVD sets but you never know what the future brings.

Oh another one that hit me is a "What Were They Thinking?" type DVD on some of the stupidest angles in history. WWE Magazine has had them focusing on such for a while, including a lot of WWE gimmicks. Shockmaster, Katie Vick, Phantasmo, Bastion Booger, the Gobbleygooker, come on, this just makes itself. Add in interviews with those involved and who came up with this crap and you've got comedy gold.

Posted By: Michael Weyer (Registered)  on May 07, 2008 at 11:24 AM

I like most of those but some of those are just stupid and ridiculous and will never even be thought up. History of the WWE Championship Box Set??? WTF? LMAO ridiculous

I think there should be a "Saturday Night's Main Event" Anthology DVD Set. Is there anyone else who wouldn't want to see some of the classic "main-event" matches that occured on this program? For someone who only saw the last few years of SNME; I was a young kid always trying to stay awake until 11:30 to see the show. Most of the time I fell asleep before. I have heard how the show was a premiere program in the early 80's. Sporadically episodes are shown on 24/7, but I think a box set of this show would provide newer viewers a glimpse of the legacy of SNME and provide us longtime viewers a bit of Nostalgia.

those DVD's would be great. if wwe could manage to release DVD's of "history of wrestling families" and wccw dvd's, the steamboat dvd should not be far behind

and if vince could not even listen to his very dear son-in-law HHH about even putting up war games in a major ppv event, what more for a dvd compilation of war games?

Posted By: kapengmabula (Guest)  on May 07, 2008 at 12:17 PM

I would have to agree with another poster that a Saturday Night's Main Event box set would be awesome. However they would have to include the orginal music to make it work. I mean you can't have the Animotion song missing from the earlier seasons along with A-Ha bumpers. The starrcade boxset would be good for the events from 1986-to the 90s. I mean lets face it the early starrcades were a drag except for a couple of matches. The events are a chore to watch. The first two wrestlemania's have their low point, but to me they are at least watchable.

How about a DVD of Ashley's pre-WWE gig?

I dont know if anyone said this or not, but I really want them to do a In Your House, where they show the best moments and have some full matches. Also a WCW Nitro one like they did with the RAW one last year.

My two suggestions:

The Best of The Honky Tonk Man

&

Douchebag: The Brock Lesnar Story

"I dont think they should bring out a Ricky Steamboat, Terry Funk or Jimmy Snuka

That, along with the "Ricky Steamboat is the most overrated wrestler ever" comment just about made me smash every piece of furniture in my living room.

JG: You have no clue what you're talking about. Zero. The Savage-Stephanie thing is the biggest urban legend in wrestling since "Paul Orndorff died in 1987" and "the Ultimate Warrior that came back in 1992 was not the same guy from 1988-1990!"

No clue how the Savage rumor got started but it has absolutely 0% truth to it. Vince would have been well within his rights to press charges even if he "found out" years after Savage left the company. By all accounts, Vince would have learned the rumor while WWF was getting killed by WCW. You don't think he would have used that to his advantage to smear Ted Turner? "Turner hires pedophiles - is this the type of company you want to support?"

Stop being a sheep and believing the bullshit the IWC spews out. And shame for most of you commenting that missed the opportunity to rip this guy a new one for passing off this nonsense as a legitimate reason for the heat between Savage & McMahon!

Some good suggestions up there. Here are mine

"24/7: The History Of The Hardcore Title" They could throw in the best matches of the hardcore titles history and even show all of the 24/7 rule title changes

"Survivor Series: The Complete Anthology" - self explanatory

King Of The Ring: The Complete Anthology" - Again self explanatory

"Steel Hell" - A collection of the best Steel Cage matches in WWF/WWE history like the ladder match DVD and this would be 100X better than the garbage blood bath DVD they released years ago.

"WWE Confidential" - A true documentary style look into what goes on behind the scenes of the WWE in terms of production. These guys dont get enough credit and you could easily do a DVD like this without breaking kayfabe.

Really Jason S? Do you work behind the scenes of the WWE? Do you know Savage and the McMahons personally that you would know that this has 0% truth to it?

Posted By: natedoggcata (Guest)  on May 07, 2008 at 05:14 PM

How about a sequel to the "Greatest Superstars of the 80s?" This way they could include some of the people who should have a DVD (like Jimmy Snuka, Don Muracco, Paul Orndorff) but probably won't get one.

Heck, how about a "Greatest Superstars of the 70s?" dvd?

I think a DVD focusing on the history of female managers/valets/divas would be fun.

I've seen a cheap Kane DVD, but how about a two-disc set on him?

We definately need a tag teams dvd of some sort. Also one focusing on cruiserweights.

Any chance of getting some of the old weekend wrestling shows on DVD (Superstars, WCW Saturday Night, All-American Wrestling, etc.)

A Tuesday Night Titans collection.

I would love to have the WCW All-Nighter they did years ago on DVD.

I think an Brutus Beefcake DVD one might be kinda interesting. He was a rising star until that parasailing accident destroyed him and he also got stuck with all those lame gimmicks in WCW.

How about an actual history of the WWE DVD? From the WWWF, to WWF, to WWE.

How about an updated Eddie Guerraro DVD that covers his death?

How about a "Celebrities in wrestling" DVD. This could cover celebs who appeared on a wrestling show. Whether it's simply to sing "America the Beautiful" at Wrestlemania to David Arquette winning the WCW title?

How about a "Greatest interviews and promos in wrestling history" dvd?

How about releasing "Hulk Hogans Rockin Wrestling" cartoon onto dvd?

Yes natedogcata. I do. Savage didn't fuck Stephanie. It 100% didn't happen. Vince has other reasons for his disdain of Savage.

But if it helps you pump out a batch at night to pretend Savage nailed an underage Stephanie, keep believing it.

Every year WWE has one wrestler who is the top guy getting the HOF induction. This year it was Flair and before it was Dusty Rhodes, so Terry Funk would be an excellent choice for WM XXV's top star getting a Hall Of Fame Induction. Funk is who I consider to be the greatest wrestler of all time and people such as Mick Foley and Paul Heyman have said he's the best wrestler they've ever seen too. No other wrestler has had both the longevity of Funk's career along with having the ability to change with the times, rather than sticking to the exact same style as time went on such as Flair and Rhodes who are still both incredible too. He has influenced countless wrestlers and been an inspiration to all, with his incredible work ethic and his love of the sport of wrestling. I hope that if this is the year they induct Terry into the Hall Of Fame that they release at least a 3 DVD set of his career. Highlights would be his feuds with Rhodes, Flair, Race, Foley, and Lawler. It would be incredible to see some footage of him wrestling matches where he was defending the NWA World Heavyweight Title, as that was 1976 and before VCRs. I've never been able to find footage of him defending his belt. The matches where he won and lost the title would be especially interesting to see as would promos from that title reign of over one year. If they could get footage of the very rare match where he wrestled his brother Dory in Japan, that would be incredible too. Footage of him in Florida feuding with Rhodes and in Memphis feuding with Lawler would be great. And of course they have all the ECW footage of his career in their library too to draw from. For a legend who wrestled for 40 years, a 3 or 4 DVD set would really be a great thing to be able to buy. It would be a must for any serious wrestling fan, and next to Ric Flair's DVD set, probably WWE's most popular career perspective DVD set they've ever released.

"I agree. Yiu don't know for sure if that story is true or not. To say that it has 0 credibility is really ignorant."

Actually, ignorance is believing IWC folklore without an ounce of proof. The rumor started on the Internet, but who backed up? A WWF official? A dirt sheet writer? An anonymous wrestler?

Why not start a "Benoit & Guerrero" were gay lovers rumor? There's more legitimacy in that even though it's complete nonsense.

It's almost like Dave Meltzer and other jealous "insiders" who debunk WrestleMania III having 93,000 in attendance out of pure jealousy because Vince won't acknowledge them. Somebody came up with the Savage-Stephanie theory because there's no other logical reason that Vince won't have anything to do with him.

He's worked with Hogan & Austin countless times. He brought back Warrior three times. Hell, he's had Honky Tonk Man make appearances and even featured him on "where are they now". Plus, Savage is prominently featured on WWE 24/7 on almost a monthly basis, including a full-length feature in March. Sorry, but Vince doesn't need $7.99 a pop to show footage of the guy who raped his young daughter.

Obviously, Vince has issues with him, but it's blind ignorance to say it's because he bedded a young Stephanie. There's zero proof and until an actual WWF/WWE official comes clean or Vince himself outs Savage, it's just IWC bullshit to explain the unexplainable.

The best DVD that they should release would be a WWE work out DVD and maybe even life on the road DVD.
I think as R said DVD's of wrestlers should always be done on their way out or after they leave.

WWE doesn't own the Memphis video library

100,000,000% agree with whomever mentioned a British Bulldogs DVD and the authors original suggestion of a Ricky Steamboat DVD although the Steamboat would mostly interest me for the matches. So many interesting individuals who had great careers but I somehow just cannot picture how they would do a 2 or 3 disc set for simply that particular person. such as Bobby Heenan, Dick Murdoch, Gorilla Monsoon, Stan Hansen, and especially Bruiser Brody

I didn't have a problem with the TNA Sting DVDs, but they obviously don't own the rights to the footage that made sting the legend he is. Its a shame WWE can't do it now. I would also LOVE a Junkyard Dog DVD! I'm sure that would sell like hotcakes as JYD was one of the most popular wrestlers of all time.

A Brock Lesnar DVD would be okay. I mean he was only in the company for 3 years, so It would be easier to look at his matches and decide what were the best.

Lesnar was a good comapany man who never jumped ship and just decided he'd rather try MMA then do pro wrestling the rest of his life.

I've been saying for years that WWE needs to do a Best of the WCW Cruiserweight Division. And not the crap from near the end of WCW (3-Count, Jung Dragons, etc.); I'm talking Chris Jericho, Rey Misterio Jr., Ultimo Dragon, Chris Benoit, Eddie Guerrero, Psicosis, Juventud Guerrera, Blitzkrieg, and the other dozen or so luchadores from 1995-1998.

I would also like to see a DVD set on Georgia Championship Wrestling. Does WWE own that video library, or if not, who does own it? Gordon Solie was the announcer in Georgia Championship Wrestling so that's just one reason that those shows would be great to see.
