In The World in Times Square, they are having a "make out with Nidia" contest with Jamie Noble. He has chosen two guys for the finals. Nidia chooses one and starts making out with him on a leather couch on the stage at the World. Noble commentates on the makeout session.
Eric and Steph watch this, and Eric loves Nidia, because she knows her place in the business. Steph retorts that a woman's place is on top.
WWE Intercontinental Title
Chris Benoit (c) vs. Rob Van Dam
I don't know if I mentioned it, but they have Raw announcers doing Raw matches, and Smackdown doing Smackdown matches. JR/King are doing this match by the way. RVD has some educated kicks to start. Back and forth. RVD flips around the ring. Top rope high cross body for 2. Benoit takes control. Rams RVD into the corners. Benoit with some arm bar submission moves. RVD rolls out of it, but Benoit clotheslines RVD back to the mat. RVD grabs a backslide for 2. RVD goes for a split legged moonsault, Benoit gets the knees up, and RVD is in pain. Benoit slits his throat! He goes up top… top rope headbutt! RVD moves and now he goes up top. RVD goes for the frog splash, and Benoit moves. Benoit cinches in the crossface. RVD fights. RVD gets his foot on the bottom rope. Shots of the GMs watching this match in the back. RVD goes up top, Benoit pushes him off to the floor, and RVD sells a left arm injury from hitting the barricade. Benoit follows and goes to work on the arm. Back into the ring, and they trade chops. Crowd is responding something going on in the crowd. Benoit has RVD seated and pulls his arms back. Both are standing, and Benoit continues to pull back on the arms. Benoit just throws RVD to the mat and regroups. RVD with a Mortal Kombat style leg sweep, rolling thunder into a standing moonsault, Benoit dodges and locks in the crossface. RVD elbows out of the move, and rolls up Benoit, who rolls through and rolls up RVD for 2. Benoit rams RVD HARD into the steel post. Benoit continues to focus on the left arm. Northern Lights onto the arm, and holds on for another. STILL holds on and Benoit is relentless. ANOTHER northern lights suplex and AGAIN Benoit holds on. Locks in the crossface AGAIN and Van Dam fights. This has been a borderline squash for Benoit so far. Benoit turns the move into a dragon sleeper, and RVD reverses it into a crossface of his own! Benoit gets out of it quickly, and hits a dropkick to retake control. RVD's hair is undone and it looks kinda weird. RVD with a stepover sidekick and does rolling thunder! Covers for 2. RVD spears Benoit in the corner with his bad shoulder and sells it a bit, then covers Benoit for 2. Rolling monkey flip attempt by RVD, Benoit catches him and rests him on the top rope. Benoit follows and pounds RVD on the back of the next. Belly to back superplex, but RVD counters into a cross body in mid air!! RVD goes up top! Five star out of NO WHERE? Awesome match, I don't love the ending but still awesome.
