The show starts out with a recap of Billy & Chuck’s Commitment Ceremony. The arena is dark, and there is a Spotlight on Bischoff, who introduces Rico. He gives Rico a match with Ric Flair as a reward. He then says that since HHH and RVD have a World Title Match at Unforgiven, but they will defend the World Title and IC Title tonight! Bischoff then says that he doesn’t want to be accused of boring, predictable TV, he will leave that to Stephanie.

Intro, JR welcomes us and reminds us that the PPV is Sunday.

The Game comes out. He is sick of people telling him how scared he is of RVD. He is not sweating RVD. He tells us that RVD is not Championship material. He is not scared that he had a lucky win in a tag match. He starts getting angry at the fans who are chanting “R-V-D.” HHH then starts yelling, and RVD comes out. RVD tells HHH that he has all this negative energy coming off of him, because he knows that RVD has all the cool moves, and that is why the fans like him more. HHH agrees, and says that his anger is the reason why he is the Champion, and the reason why he headlines PPV’s. RVD then says that he doesn’t deny his accomplishments, and he says that everyone is impressed at how well HHH can spit water. He then mocks him really well…best RVD promo ever. HHH then laughs it off, says that he is an under achiever like the rest audience. He then says that RVD is not Championship material, again. RVD says he knows what is wrong, all of his fans aren’t chanting “H-H-H,” but that is because they are too busy chanting for their favorite SuperStar! HHH backs off, then goes to kick RVD in the gut, but RVD blocks it, then hits a step-over enzaguri! RVD then leaves.
