People BLASTED TNA for doing this a couple of months ago with Sting/Angle -vs- Team 3D as the PPV main event with the TNA World Title on the line.
People BLASTED TNA for having 40 year olds in their main events but at Backlash the WWE will have three 40 year olds in the main event.
I am sure that the fans will give the WWE a pass on this, unlike TNA, which got blasted for having one of the greatest tag teams of all time in their main event (3D) but the WWE has the greenest team in ages (Dibiase & Rhodes) and I am sure no one will even mention it.
I love double standards. Both main events were based off of storylines, WWE (Orton/McMahons/HHH) and TNA (Main Event Mafia) so that cant be used as an excuse either.

But Miles, the WWE usually doesn't do things like this while TNA overdoes wacky stipulations.

wwe won't get blasted because they have been doing this and other stupid shit for a while now. do you know why tna gets blasted for doing these things? because they were supposed to be different, the alternative to these things but then they just go and do it themselves. its not double standards, its tna failing to reach the standards they put out for themselves.

No there shouldn't. When you have as many hours of weekly programming as WWE has and you have as many of the top stars in the business in your company, then you need more than one top champion.

A couple of 40 year olds had a match at Wrestlemania that turned out to be quite good.
Stimg/Foley on the other hand will require an act of God not to be plain bad.

Granted, that would make sense if the E actually stuck to having seperate rosters for seperate brands. Hell doesnt RAW now have 2 world champions on it? Yeah, that makes sense....

Your forgetting that fact that no one ever believed that Team 3D could win a WORLD TITLE LOL. Randy Orton on the other hand? He just has a little bit more credability then Ray and Devon.. LOL

Thats because before these 40 year olds came along, TNA actually had credible young main eventers, remember when Daniels/Joe/AJ had that incredible 3 way main event? That was a long time ago.. Now look at TNAs next main event, ex WCW guy vs Has-been WWE guy LOL

When i heard that WWE was putting that stip on the main event, I was pissed. My first thought was "why are they booking like TNA?" It's stupid, but it may at least set up an interesting feud. The way is ridiculous, but the means may work out as long as Randy doesn't get shafted.
I have, and will continue to BLAST TNA for Lockdown's main event. Mick Foley isn't just in his 40s. He's a broken down has-been that shouldn't be anywhere near the title match. Yes, HHH, Batista and Shane are old, but Shane doesn't have a chance at winning the belt and HHH and Batista are main event mainstays are proven draws. Legacy is young. An established veteran and a young main eventer that is moving into elite, flag-bearer status is fine.
Also, the Main Event Mafia storyline SUCKS. The original intent was the put the veterans out there to put over the young up and comers. Instead, it's turned into a circle jerk for the MEM to fight within each other while Joe stabs people, AJ never gets back into the main event and Christopher Daniels is forced to wear a stupid costume instead of being Christopher Friggin Daniels.
Remember when TNA was awesome? When those three (Joe, AJ, Daniels) were running the X Division? That's what we thought we had to look forward to in the main event. But then Grey Beard Nash, broken down Pappa Pump and Mick Foley had to clog it up.
TNA sucks. Their booking sucks. Far worse than WWE across the board, even though WWE does do some dumb shit such as the Backlash main event.
