Trish Stratus Discusses Why She Didn’t Work WrestleMania
Posted by Larry Csonka on 04.15.2009
Trish explains…
- Slam Wrestling interviewed Trish Stratus, where she explained why she didn't work the Miss WrestleMania battle royal, here are the highlights:
The Reason Why She Decided Against The Match: "Simply, there were no finishes, no 'What's going to happen? Will I win?' discussed. It was just, 'Would you like to be in this 25-woman battle royal at Wrestlemania,' and I said, 'Thank you but I'm going to decline.'"
On Coming Out of Retirement: "I've always said to come out of retirement is a big deal to me – so if I was to come out it is for something special. To be honest, I feel Wrestlemania is a place to create memorable moments in one's career and frankly, with 25 women in the ring, I was just not sure how anyone could come out having their 'Wrestlemania moment,' maybe if it was a little clearer that could be accomplished for someone, I would have been a part of it. If I were to go back, I would like to do something that is new and fresh, there are so many girls right now that can work, I'd want to be able to mix it up with someone I hadn't gotten the chance to before I left."
Good for Trish, F "creative"(what a misnomer of a title!)
She had the good sense to get a handle on things and she realized that it was going to be crap.
Really, at the end of the day, between looks and her skill, she's probably the most valuable woman wrestler ever, and I'll always respect her transition from eye candy to compitent worker.

She is a class act. A legend in women's wrestling

It's not like she missed anything. Honestly, she would've just been lost in the sea of blonde, anyway, in that piece of garbage.

Screw Trish Stratus. At this point in her life she should've done at least softcore porn. That bitch has really let me down.

Shut up and take your top off!!!
Thats how you can "create your memorable moment"

smart. the only wrestler of the modern era allowed to go out in style. trish rules

Trish is a sell-out! She forgot where she came from! She's trying to distance herself from the wrestling business!
...oh wait, it's okay when SHE does it.
Anyway, good for her.

I'm so sick of wrestlers thinking they're too good for wrestling. Seriously i would have been so much happier had she been in the battle royal and been mentioned in passing as she fell out the ring. Stupid fuckers turning their back on us.... for what.... their dignity and legacy... fuck that.... fuck the rock.... fuck bret.... fuck lesnar.... fuck goldberg... fuck everyone for moving on with their life

In the interview she said she's a fan of Natalya and that's one person she would like to wrestle with..that's if creative can build her up or find her something to do

Yeah, Trish was 100% right. Those that did come back for mania were pretty much screwed over as far as their appearance went. The only glimpse I caught of Sunny was the back of her head as she walked off after being chucked out.
Still I guess there was a paycheck in there for some of the diva's and the Molly Hollys and Victoria's of the world are unlikely to be given a bigger guest spot for Mania so maybe that's not so bad. But Trish is big enough to warrant exposure, at least in a tag match. But everyone has to get their pay day at Mania. Yawn.

So what was Lita's excuse?

"She's trying to distance herself from the wrestling business!"
She competed in a main event match on RAW in the past year, and from the sounds of it she'd have been at Mania had they actually booked the battle royale seriously. Hell, she's practically more a part of the active roster than Kennedy.

Hyatte talked to her and she said the same thing to him.

Good for her. The battle royal was BS. I thought they would at least give the returning women some sort of special entrance. Instead we got Kid Rock. Thanks Vince.

Oh Sassypants you and your sarcasm.

Trish > TNA's MALE "WRESTLERS" > ROH's Johnny Knoxville wanabees.

Trish is right. She saw that this 25 diva thing was going to be a load of crap, and it was! I hardly even noticed many of the divas in the match! I do miss seeing Trish and her sexy bod but really this was not the match I could have enjoyed her in. Now a bra & panty match on the other hand with Trish would have been great! Would pay good money to see that.

Sounds like someone is getting the itch again... AWESOME! Trish vs. the much improved Gail Kim?

Tits or GTFO.

Anyone who doesn't think Trish is hardcore needs to search for 'Armed and Famous Taser Scene' on Youtube.

Maybe besides being incredibly hot and extremely fuckalicious Trish Stratus is psychic as well. Maybe she gazed into her crystal ball and saw what a complete and utter travesty the 25-woman battle royal was going to be and respecfully declined to stay at home to check out her awesome rack and amazingly hot ass in the mirror.
Oh, wait a minute-- WWE creative basically told her jackshit about the match other than the fact she'd be in there with 24 other women. That works too.
Trish Stratus > Joke matches where "Santina Marella" emerges the victor.
Posted By: Zingy (Guest) on April 15, 2009 at 09:54 AM
She made the right call. That Battle Royal was a joke and NONE of the Divas that returned are any better for it now.
Most people didn't even know who was there.

Because she could see that it was going to be a horrible abortion and wisely stayed as far away from that disaster as possible. Good for Trish.
Posted By: JTX (Guest) on April 15, 2009 at 10:31 AM
So basically she said no... because she wasnt winning.

Kind of like you mother, letting us all down, when she didn't have the abortion.

Im completely in agreement with Trish on this one. The 25 Diva Battle Royal as it turned out was nothing more than a time killing sham to begin with and I think Trish is far above that sort of thing now anyway, as she is a proven commodity in the business as an excellent worker and a great champion. She needs a great person to work off of,and I for one applaud her for her decision.
Posted By: guest (Guest) on April 15, 2009 at 12:04 PM
A wise woman, indeed. With big knockers.
Posted By: Bimmy (Guest) on April 15, 2009 at 01:10 PM
Screw it id love to see her back. . .even if she cant perform the way she used to.
Im sure every dude on this forum who isnt a fag would agree with me on this.
Posted By: NDjets78 (Guest) on April 15, 2009 at 01:20 PM
The general translation of Trish's interview was that, just like the rest of us, she knows that WWE "Creative" is pretty much a clusterf*ck right now and didn't want anything to do with it.
Good for her!
Posted By: Neil (Guest) on April 15, 2009 at 03:41 PM
Trish doesn't have much of a rack anymore, but she stilol needs to come back and get stripped/groped a lot!!
Posted By: Guest#1350 (Guest) on April 15, 2009 at 04:36 PM
So basically she said no... because she wasnt winning.
Posted By: Guest#4595 (Guest) on April 15, 2009 at 11:24 AM
My thought exactly. She wasn't booked to win. Trish took her ball and went home. Stratus 3:16 says I just marked out for myself.
Posted By: future (Guest) on April 15, 2009 at 07:06 PM
Trish is Wrestlicious!
Seriously if she wants something new and fresh, I totally could see her in some silly gimmick, rapping and rolling around in a blue and pink wrestling ring. Are you hearing me Jimmy Hart?! Make that phone call!
