Lance Storm Returns to the Ring for ROH!
Posted by Larry Csonka on 05.11.2009
July 24th and 25th!
- ROH made the following announcement today:
It's been nearly ten months since Lance Storm stood in front of the ROH faithful at "Northern Navigation" on July 25, 2008 where he was disrespected by Sweet & Sour Incorporated, and left Shane Hagadorn laying with a superkick. And it's been even longer, April 1, 2006 at "Better Than Our Best", since Storm entered into ROH competition. That night it was an epic, nearly thirty minute classic against Bryan Danielson for the ROH World Title. Storm came up short in his bid to become the champ but without question won over the fans of Ring of Honor
On July 24th and 25th, one year since he last appeared for ROH, Lance Storm will not only come back to ROH, he will return to active competition! At the Ted Reeve Arena in downtown Toronto, Storm will make his ROH in-ring return with matches on both nights! His opponents have yet to be determined but stay tuned to upcoming Newswires for more details on whom Storm will face when he returns to the ring.
When you add Storm's name to a weekend that already includes appearances by Bret Hart on July 24th and Ric Flair on the 25th, ROH's return to Canada is shaping up to be an historic one. Tickets are on sale now for both events here at www.rohwrestling.com, and you can save up to 40% off until Tuesday at noon. You don't want to miss out on this historic weekend! Get your tickets now!
Lance Storm doesn't know what retire means. Another guy is going to Terry Funk himself again

It was epic when Storm wrestled AmDrag; the crowd wouldn't have popper harder had Stone Cold turned up.

Odd since he crapped all over their TV about three weeks ago on his website.

This is amazing news. I'm wondering if he'll face Chris Hero, or they make bigger matches than that.

Honestly, first Lynn and now Storm? Hey maybe they can convince Hart and Flair to have a match with each other!

Wow!!!! I'm kinda stoked on that. I'm a life-long wrestling fan. I'm 34 yrs old. Unlike alot of people that just trash ROH for the hell of it, I actually enjoy watching wrestling for well, ya know, WRESTLING!!! Go figure! Also, unlike most of the trolls on this site, I've had sex before. More than once. With A GIRL!!!! With that said, I'm psyched to be able to, once again, see Lance Storm do what he does best.

i don't see how he is terry funking himself when he hasn't wrestled in 3 years. and i'm sure its not like he will be jerry lynn and going back to fulltime copmetition, hes probably only doing it cause its rohs show in canada, and he wants to make it a special.

Well, I'll be buying tickets. Never been disappointed by a ROH show yet, and when you Lance, Bret and Flair to the regular ROH workers? In.
I always feel sorry for those fans who are brand blind. Wrestling is entertainment, and a great match is a great match, whether its in front of 12,000 at a WWE event, 2,500 at a Japanese event, or 700 at a ROH show. The best concerts often aren't the ones in the big stadiums, you know?

How can you compare Lance Storm coming back for a couple of matches with Terry Funk not really retiring? Remember, Lance got out when he was ahead and only in his mid 30's. Not to mention that he's only wrestled a handful of times in the last five years since he decided to retire.

How many comebacks is this now?
Career midcarders with no charisma seem good enough for the RoH "world" title, so no wonder Storm is returning there...

DLo Brown...Jerry Lynn...Lance Storm...
If this was TNA people would be going off bout WWEjects.
I wish TNA and WWE would pick up the likes of Aries, Nigel and AmDrag so ROH can go back to building up new talent (like Black and Richards and not have them having their legs cut off by the former champs) like when homicide and somoa joe and low ki left.

all you marks and trolls stay out of these topics...
it's kind of hard to sign the WWE wrestlers all you marks know when they are tied down with written contracts.
ROH is trying to provide an alternative to 'soap opera' wrestling.
BACK UNDER YOUR BRIDGE TROLLS!

Its amazing how some ppl come on here and trash Storm and ROH just cause they're not WWE..
If I can be serious for a moment, many people don't realize than Storm and Jericho are about the same age. No one bitches about Jericho still going (I'm one of his biggest fans, so I hope he never retires), so don't give Storm grief. He chose to retire for a bit and wants to get it back a little. Nothing wrong with that.
HBK took a four year break, and still remains at the top of his game. Many others have taken breaks and still do it strong. I kinda hope Storm makes it more of a semi-regular gig and wrestles more often. I would love to see another Storm v Jerry Lynn showdown just for the nostalgia behind it.
I think if Lynn is still the champ at the time, they need to run a #1 contenders match on Friday which Storm wins to face Lynn on Saturday for the belt.. plus Storm is canadian, how can you pass on this opportunity. I as a fan am excited for it.
