holy shit balls

Posted By: wylun (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:27 PM

I can't think of any reason they would release Umaga, one of the best big men working today. The only thing I can think of is that maybe it's Wellness related.

Samoa Joe vs. Umaga!!!

Posted By: Guest#9391 (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:28 PM

What the fuck!?
Then again...
Steiner: "He's fat!"
Vince might have said that too.

Posted By: JA Toro (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:28 PM

Now TNA can just use Umaga in place of Samoa Joe while the latter is injured. It'll be just like when the Ultimate Warrior died and Kerry Von Erich replaced him.

Posted By: jeff (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:28 PM

like i said, wwe's killing themselves..... BRING BACK MONTY BROWN aka MARCUS COR VON!

wow, I was just thinking that he had been doing such a better job the last few weeks, he was winning me over....the smackdown match with punk was pretty damn good and the PPV was not awful (coller matches suck anyway)...TNA???

Posted By: Jay (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:29 PM

Damn. I guess they don't need him anymore. Umaga will be missed, he was one of my favs.

I don't friggin understand this! What bullshit! They released Umaga! What a joke! It's beyond ridiculous now! He was one of the best wrestlers on Smackdown! There are so many other a**holes that don't deserve to be on that roster yet they cut one of the talented ones! total crap

Wow. :O

while I had no problem with them releasing ken kennedy, i hate this move. Umaga was an old school monster, and i like that

Damn...he was one of the better big men in WWE...and still Kane/Mike Knox/Batista have jobs...

Wha-Wha-What!?! well I guess the big monsters are not safe and might as well expect Uuuuuumaga on TNA fighting Samoa Joe!! But that would be obvious and expected! HAHA WWE rejects = TNA sloppy seconds, ex. Angle, Foley, Steiner, 3D, Booka, Nash.....thats enough torture TNA!

Joe vs Umaga
Kennedy Vs Angle at the next TNA pPV

Posted By: dee76 (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:37 PM

First Mr. Kennedy, then Umaga. Wow if i was on the WWE roster and had talent i'd be worried right now.

Posted By: Scotty (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:37 PM

You let him talk?? O man he's ruined, get rid of him.

Posted By: Matthew M (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:38 PM

Mr. Kennedy now Umaga? Release Batista because he has been hurt just as much as them. TNA: Cross the Line! Enough said.

Posted By: Slave1 (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:39 PM

Wtf!!!

Posted By: Carbs (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:39 PM

Mr. Kennedy & Umaga > Batista & Kozlov.

This is getting ridiculous.

Posted By: chumpstain (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:39 PM

Thats some weird shit. Wonder what happened. I guess the story will come out in a few days. He's not a good wrestler by any means but it was rumored he was going to have a feud with Taker so I wonder what Umaga did.

Posted By: guestwwe (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:40 PM

Sign me up, Vince!

Posted By: Samoa Joe (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:40 PM

definately not a wellness violation, oh well good luck in the Nation of Violence.

lol wtf

Posted By: Guest#6355 (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:43 PM

Was this a contract issue???? This one confuses me because I thought he was supposed to fight Taker. At least TNA can pick up two new stars in Kennedy and Umaga soon.

Posted By: Jason (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:44 PM

Well, here comes TNA and a tag team with Samoa Joe!

Posted By: InfernalCatfish (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:44 PM

Well, this could be very good news for Mike Knox...although I'd be quite happy with the Smackdown Seven (Edge, Hardy, Jericho, Mysterio, Morrison, Punk & Benjamin) carrying the show for a bit longer...

Posted By: bluesteel (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:45 PM

ur new tna world champion!

eddie fatu!!!

...well, someone had to say it

WTF is going on out there?

Posted By: BJC (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:46 PM

DAMN, just when he started to speak and cut promos. WWE sucks. But they keep the always injured Roid monkey. again, WWE sucks.

Posted By: S.H (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:46 PM

Sweet, see him in TNA in 90 days

Posted By: Robin (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:46 PM

this is dumb.

Its not Wellness related, as WWE would of made a big fuss about it and made it public that they wernt going to tolerate anyone breaching the policy (even "stars") to look good in the media.

Posted By: Craig (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:47 PM

WTF!??!?! He just learned to talk too....

Posted By: Ojj (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:48 PM

We have not seen Umaga much until recently... it is possible his injuries have been nagging him and WWE decided it would be better to just let him go for now and bring him back at a later date. Unless it's wellness/discipline I would say they knew this was going to happen and they specifically had him put over Punk before going... but that's obviously speculation

Posted By: M:-X (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:48 PM

noooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!

Posted By: cp munk (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:49 PM

I don't see how releasing Umaga is better than giving Roidtista, I mean, Batista, the title. At least Umaga could deliver a good match.

Posted By: TheLaw12 (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:49 PM

The Nation of Violence just got a new citizen.

Posted By: johnboy (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:50 PM

Did Vince secretly work out some deal with Dixie or something!? Kennedgy, Burke and Umaga would all be good pick ups for TNA

Posted By: Industry (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:51 PM

You-Manga is gone???

Posted By: William Regal (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:53 PM

whats next a wrestling show with no wrestling.....I always thought umaga was a good solid wrestler even with all the crappy gimmicks he was given he always managed to be solid.....I am sick of all these firings.....WWE you want someone to fire...you can fire us the fans....wonder why your numbers are down?....good job Vince some of the fans are just leaving on their own

sometimes if business is down you have to spend money to make money...in the wwe it seems as if whenever business is down they just fire a bunch of people to say look at all the money we saved and not have anyone become a breakout star who could make them even more money

Posted By: dave (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:53 PM

i thought he was going to fued with the undertaker for the remainder of the year?

WHATS UP WITH THAT?

Posted By: (guest) (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:53 PM

WTF?

TNA sign him. Umaga was in my favourite match last year (cage match vs. Jeff) and my favourite match in 2007 (LMS vs. Cena) and I'm a big fan of his.

Posted By: Tim (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:54 PM

awful

Posted By: Fuck that (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:55 PM

They should do a storyline in which wrestlers are released from their contracts due to "hard economic times". Have this group form an allegiance in the indies, dominate, then come back and attack the company as a group of disgruntled ex-employees.

Posted By: Boots Battaglia (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:55 PM

Didn't they just have him talk? We should have read the writing on the wall then. (sorry if this is incorrect, I haven't seen smackdown in a while, cause I am usually out on Fridays, and I don't have DVR yet.)

WWE owns the rights to Umaga. Do they own the rights to U-Manga?

I think WWE feels comfortable letting these two go because they don't think they will get far without their WWE gimmicks.

I will take Umaga over Joe anytime!

Posted By: Tim Haught (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:56 PM

pity to see Umanga get released. best of luck Umanga

Posted By: William Regal (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:56 PM

did he have 2 strikes against him already?

Posted By: Guest#5317 (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:56 PM

Guarantee it was wellness

Posted By: Guest#2820 (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:56 PM

i thought youmanga only had one prior wellness policy violation?
anyway, if it isn't anything to do with wellness, wwe had really dropped the ball. again!

Posted By: DaJ (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:56 PM

Farewell Youmanga.

Posted By: William Regal (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:57 PM

time to finally get the dream match of angle/umaga falls count anywhere/last man standing

Posted By: Guest#9687 (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:58 PM

So let me get this straight.

Kennedy is released because he was injury prone, yet Batista just came back 2 months ago and is going to be out again, and HE keeps his job, even though he was wrestling injured for weeks and could've been a danger in the ring, not to mention he didnt tell anyone.

And now...Umaga?

God, I hope they aren't making room for Masters on smackdown, because that would be EPIC. FUCKING. FAIL.

Posted By: Dan (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 06:59 PM

WTF????????????????????
What the hell is wrong with Vince. We need to start a boycott of the WWE or this stupid crap will continue happen. Umaga The New Leader of the Nation of Violence and the next TNA Heavyweight Champion.

Posted By: sour grapes (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 07:04 PM

maybe if umaga won last night, he'd be champion and cm punk would be fired

Posted By: food for thought (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 07:08 PM

I totally agree. You don't need Umaga when you've got a 5-star match waiting to happen in Vladmir Kozloz....sarcasm btw.

Posted By: Flying Dutchman (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 07:09 PM

It seems WWE have really lost interest in the 'wild' image, what with Manu, Kafu and Umaga all leaving in these past months.

Shame really, I felt Umaga was just getting over as a properly feared monster, and probably deserved the win last night had it not been for the MITB cash in.

Onwards and upwards, as I'm sure he knows by now, this isn't the end.

Posted By: StagJJ (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 07:09 PM

I'm gonna bring him in to team with Samoa Joe in a tag team named "The Nation of Violence"

He was always "Jamal" to me anyway. You dummies just get sucked in to whatever name change Vince zombifies you with. Just like when you shit on "Rocky Maivia" but magically loved "The Rock." Or when you were bored shitless with "Dustin Rhodes: but jerked off to "Goldust."

You probably all refer to "WWF" as "WWE", don't you? Simply because Vince succeeded in wiping it out of your collective memories. Fucking toolbags, the lot of you.

Wonder which upper-midcarder will get canned next week?

Posted By: jewde (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 07:21 PM

He's fired because his dumbass got in a fight after the show last night.

Posted By: Guest#8856 (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 07:22 PM

Guess that explains why X-Pac 2.0 won last night.

Posted By: Dave (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 07:24 PM

For what? Umaga was one of the great workers on Smackdown and was certainly one of my favorite of the larger competitors. WWE are idiots.

Posted By: guest (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 07:31 PM

Well once he started talking, I thought this might be coming.

And Vince wonders why his product suffers? It suffers because this egomaniacal jackass who everyone claims is this savior of wrestling doesnt have a clue anymore about what wrestling is or what the fans really want. It sickens me that people buy into the WWE media bliz and drink the koolaid like mindless puppets. The make CRAPTISTA into a champion again just as he has to have surgery. Yeah good going Vince you MORON! Why dont you do us all a favor and release Vickie. Now she needs to go. Vince and the WWE I am ashamed of you and what your product represents.

Did someone say.....3 minutes?

Posted By: deeablo (Guest)  on June 08, 2009 at 07:36 PM

"Wha-Wha-What!?! well I guess the big monsters are not safe and might as well expect Uuuuuumaga on TNA fighting Samoa Joe!! But that would be obvious and expected! HAHA WWE rejects = TNA sloppy seconds, ex. Angle, Foley, Steiner, 3D, Booka, Nash.....thats enough torture TNA!"

lets look at that list
Kurt Angle Quit WWE
Foley Didn't want to resign
Nash was a mutal end at the end of his contract
Booker T. Didn't want to resign
Steiner is one of the most decorated and respected tag-team champions and was in NWA/WCW before he went to WWF in the 90s and again in the 00s
3D were massively over before the E and mutualy ended they're contracts by not resigning
Victoria retired from WWE
Raven made his name in ECW not WWE
Rhino was let go after personal issues and picked up several months later
Christian Cage didn't resign and jumped ship

so yes rejects not so much as people not wanting to or mutual ending they're contracts, also it was good on TNA to sign most not all but most of these guys since even if they haven't popped ratings they are vetarns for the most part. Who can bring expirence to the younger guys.

so Kennedy & Umaga are fired, while Batista still has a job and they hire Chris Masters

EPIC FAIL

Yes because all the guys you mentioned above changed there character when their name changed. And yes I do call it WWE because that's the name of the company.
Anyway by your logic shouldn't you call WWF WWWF? Or did Vince erase that from your mind?

This, along with Kennedy's release has me thinking this is some kind of work. That they are looking to recapture the "invasion" angle again without having to purchase TNA.

This is a stoopid move by the WWE and Vince McMahon Umaga was a model employee who never ever did anything wrong and worked for next to nothing, he was highly motivated and never had any personal problems and he had no issues with either drugs or alcohol and was the most well liked person in the locker room.

Batista who is injury prone, clearly on steroids... but cause he is popular he stays.

Umaga has great options TNA or Japan, I think the Japs would eat him up!

Wow did that come off as racist?

IIRC a few months ago, Umaga came to the aid of Maria or another Diva, when she was being harrassed by a crazed nutjob at an airport...he's been out with a couple of nagging injuries, just gets back, starts a feud with C.M. Punk, starts talking intelligibly in English, has a Samoan Strap Match with Punk, then gets the sack? Wassupwitdat?

"They need to keep Umaga strong, so Punk had to lose."

Now what jackasses? It was stupid then, and it's even more stupid now. You've got a World Champ that jobs to a guy that got released just a few matches ago. How often do HHH and Cena job again? They won't even job with shenanigans, of course they won't job clean either. It's easy to tell who the WWe intends to push and who will be a star based entirely on their won-loss record. Win a lot and you're a star, lose a lot and you're a scrub.

That sucks.

I had a Umaga/Samoa Joe tag team in my TNA EWR game called the Samoan Bulldozing Machines. It would be cool if it came to life.

I do like Umaga a hell of a lot better than Joe, maybe the tag team would make Joe seem like a real main event level wrestler instead of someone boring and bland given the World title because Internet people want him to have it.

Mick Foley quit because Vince yelled at him. Couldn't handle the job!

According to George W. Bush, the reason they keep the Great Khali around is to capture that highly sought after "Paki" demographic.

Everyone wants to see Umaga vs Taker and WWE just ruined it. Kennedy, Umaga... This is getting ridiculous, you need to fire people like DJ Gabriel, Goldust, Hornswoggle and Ricky Ortiz before you start releasing Main Eventers!

That's quite a shocker. But not as shocking as Warrior getting fired after SummerSlam '91, Paul Roma jumping ship to WCW in the early 90's which arguably triggered the Monday Night Wars or the Montreal Screwjob.

We never really know what the fuck happened backstage that leads to the firing. If I'm not mistaken, Umaga was released the first time around because he was involved in some kind of fight. Maybe he did it again? Who knows?

All the WWE bashing is uncalled for IMO. Again, WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT THE FUCK REALLY HAPPENED. So, reserve your judgment, assholes.

Look at it this way, Kennedy and Umaga probably violated wellness but it's being kept quiet because they'll want to bring them back once the smoke clears. Vince puts the title on CM Punk so that if anyone in the media starts badmouthing he can say "What're you talking about? One of my world champions is straight-edge."

Money in the bank isn't just a match for Wrestlemania, it's a tool for giving Vince an ace up the sleeve if he needs it. I tell you, he does some stupid stuff these days but he's still a crafty guy.

I don't get this one either. I'm not a fan of the fat wrestlers or anything, but this guy is good and can move. I remember his WWE Title match with Cena last year (bullrope match I think) and it was great. He's way better than Samoa Joe, for sure. I wish him the best and great success in the future. He'd be a great addition to TNA's roster ( maybe even with Armando Estrada because they were good together).

It won't be because of the wellness policy, because to my knowledge he has only been done for it once, and usually its 3 times before you get released.
I really don't understand why he was released..

Posted By: Emma (Guest)  on June 09, 2009 at 08:53 AM

It could be wellness, but if it is, it is also likely an overreaction. For you see, it's that time again. Time to remember what happened around this time 2 years ago. So to safeguard the company against anyone in the media who still cares, they show how infallible the WP is by showing that even upper-carders can get fired.

Though Kennedy ALSO had being Ahmed Johnson 2.0 going against him.

Main eventers/above-midcarders who did anything wrong in recently need to be careful when the summer comes along. The Ghost of Benoit might haunt YOU next!

"so Umaga gets to leave the WWE looking like an equal with it's current world heavyweight champ CM Punk. Hopefully, this might mean they are planning to retrieve samoa joe from the cesspool that is TNA booking and have Joe v. Punk 2.0!"

Which I am sure will be the source of his SHOOT~! when he debuts in TNA. "When I was in the *WWE*, I beat the *WWE's* world champion, *CM Punik*, who you can see weekly in the *WWE*. WWE, WWE, WWE, WWE!"

Posted By: Guest#0375 (Guest)  on June 09, 2009 at 08:59 AM

I fully expected him to beat Punk at the PPV cause I heard they were building him up for Undertaker at Summerslam. Punk winning made sense since he got the title that night, but Umaga getting released does not make sense. Although if you think about it, he never did win any big matches (RR '07, WM 23, WM 24, etc.)

Gotta love the majority of the assholes on here...."Fuck you Vince!! How dare you!! WAAAAAHHHH!!!"
1) None of us knows why he was released, so shut the fuck up.
2) Vince is allowed to fire who the fuck he wants, it's his company. Why the hell do you assholes suddenly care?
3) Perhaps Umaga didn't want to be there anymore? No, you're right, Vince is evil and just loves to lose money invested in talent by firing them for no reason.
4) So you're outraged they fired Umaga but are wilfully wishing for Batista to be fired and lose his income? What kind of assholes are you? Again you jump to conclusions and go on about Batista being injured too...who says Umaga or Kennedy were released due to injuries?
5) Dan, so you know for a fact that Batista purposefully withheld an injury from his superiors? Pray tell, what other juicy gossip are you privvy to as head of Talent relations? Oh, you're talking utter shit and know nothing of a situation and are merely jumping to conclusions based on what you think you know of Kennedy's release? Now it's clear.

TO THE THINKING IMPAIRED - Kennedy was released due to a combination of his own stupidity during the steroid scandal, being injured for half his WWE career, and almost crippling Randy Orton on his latest return match.
Batista's situation is not comparable because he's higher on the food chain, simple. Umaga's situation is also different as we have NO FUCKING CLUE why he's gone. Until we do, constantly linking he and Kennedy is pointless and idiotic. Get a fucking life the lot of you, no one wrestler is bigger than the WWE.

It seems the wwe is cleaning house of any superstars that often get injured. Kennedy, Umaga.....Soon will be Candice, Kennedy was overrated anyway. Why not get rid of Batista. He gets injured every 2 weeks and can't wrestle worth sh*t.

And yet HHH made his return, so we'll see HHH-Orton, AGAIN! Cena-Big Slow, AGAIN! Kozlov and Mark Henry (and Candace?) still having jobs, Maryse & Kelly having no business in the ring.

I'd rather watch Umaga and Armando Alejandro Estrada if they reunite as a team than HHH, Batista, Orton, or whoever else is boring now on RAW

So they bring back Chris Masters and fire Umaga, one of their better *big* workers. Great logic.
I'm amazed that there are so many idiots that still defend this shitty promotion and all their stupid decisions.

coming to terms implies that it was either Umaga alone or a mutual decision.

the 'E probably told him that they were no longer going to pay for his Twinkies anymore and he left.

Huh? WWE release umaga?! No way! They can't do it, bec I want Umaga to be still wrestler player at WWE. How abt Kane vs Umaga? 2 players on Umaga? He is really large wrestler player as bulldozer of 350 pounds, it would to be fun match as great match, anyone who dare to make up a match vs Umaga, bec anyone can stock me and WWE Universe!!!!!!!!!!! Like last match is CM punk vs Umaga in extreme rules then CM punk won a match and STOCKED to WWE universe!! So we really wanted Umaga to be still work as wrestler player at WWE career.

The funny thing is, I think the WWE spent more time promoting his return with the video packages that aired for months than his actual in-ring time when he actually DID return.

Let's call in CSI, Missing Persons, Unsolved Mysteries, and 20/20 to figure why Umaga was released.
