Updates on Hulk Hogan’s Autobiography As Well As Hulk Hogan Appreciation Day
Posted by Larry Csonka on 06.12.2009

- St. Martin's Press sent out the following promotional material for the upcoming Hulk Hogan's autobiography, "My Life Outside The Ring", which will be released on October 27th:
Hulk Hogan, born Terry Bollea, burst onto the professional wrestling scene in the late seventies and went on to become a world wrestling champion many times over. From humble beginnings, this giant of a man escaped a pre-ordained life of dock and construction work in Port Tampa, Florida, to become one of the most recognizable celebrities on the planet. He did it through sheer will, grit, determination, and a drive to always go over the top and do more than what others thought possible.

From the outside, his story was one of a charmed life—he was at the top of his career, had a wonderful and loving family, and a lifelong fan base who worshipped him. Of course he had his up and downs—including hints of steroid abuse and his falling out with WWE and Vince McMahon—but it's been the last two years that have tested Hogan more than any other in his lifetime.

In 2007, while riding the massive success of his VH1 reality show, Hogan Knows Best, his son Nick was involved in a tragic car accident that left his best friend in critical condition. Then Linda, his wife, left him after 23 years of marriage, his beloved daughter Brooke blamed him for the breakup and his son went to jail. The tabloid media had a field day. When unflattering jailhouse conversations between him and his son were released to the press the tabloids were in a frenzy. The sudden turmoil and tragedy surrounding Hogan took its toll. He fell into a deep depression, seeing no way out, until one fate ful phone call.

In My Life Outside the Ring, Hogan will unabashedly recount these events, revealing how his new found clarity steadied him during the most difficult match of his life—and how he emerged from the battle feeling stronger than ever before.

Doesn't Hogan already have an autobiography out? Guess things didn't really go to shit until after that one was out, so it makes sense to release a second.

I would bet the Hulkster won't be scanning 411 like Foley did...

Under most circumstances, I'd say Hogan just needs to let go already, but considering how shitty things have been going for him, an "appreciation day" might be enough to get him back on his feet.

Then everyone can go back to trashing him like they always do.

Hopefully it will be better than the super-sanitized bio he put out a few years back.

YES, a hulk hogan auto biography!!! i cant wait to read about how he slammed the 9 foot tall andre the giant in front of 165,000 at the alamodome. or read the chapter how raw finally beat nitro when he decided to take the night off. then there is the sad tale of how that kid got paralyzed on purpose to make the hogans look bad.

it will be a hell of a read.

You sir, have a LOT of research to do. Terry Bollea isn't Hulk Hogan's mother. Hulk Hogan IS Terry Bollea! What, did you think his real name was "Hulk?"

Seems to me the real scam here is YOU. You come into a comments box trying to sound smart while lecturing people about something when they obviously know MUCH more about it than you do.

If I were Hulk, i'd be waiting until the divorce is final before working. Now, everything he makes, half goes to that b!tch Linda.

Nasty Boys vs Beefcake/Valentine? In a Hulk Hogan Appreciation show? With some other guys I don't care about?

My time machine has worked!

Wait, so it's about the Nick drama and not about his career? Damn it, I wanted to read how Hogan made wrestling and everyone else were just jobbers brother.

I can't wait to find the Hulkster's book in the sci-fi section.

Wow! Hogan4life may be the biggest idiot to ever post on 411. Think about that for a minute.

READING COMPREHENSION FAIL. Or Sarcasm Fail. Either/or.

But will they serve hoagies at Hardcore Hoagie Day? And just how many gimmicks will Ed Leslie portray? Will we get the long anticipated, never duplicated return of The Bootyman?

Stay Tuned! All will be revealed on... Hoagie Knows Best!

The way Raw is being booked at the moment I think we're a huge chance to see Hogan v Flair sometime soon! Regrettably that would be a step up from current programming.

How sad and pathetic to try and grab hold of the spotlight. I hope little to no one shows because he does not wrestle anymore! That CCW crap is for the birds, Hulkster, worry about your ex more than getting attention.

Posted By: guest1228 (Guest)  on June 13, 2009 at 08:32 AM

I wonder how much of his book will be wild distortions and complete bullshit. If Hogan sticks to things that happened to him we'll probably get wild distortions ("I gorilla press-slammed Andre the Giant while Paul Wight was on his back, brother!") but the main details should be fairly close to accurate, so I suppose that's okay.

However, if he comments on events that happened where he wasn't involved in them, I'm afraid we'll get a story bordering on complete bullshit (see Youtube video where Hogan gives is dumbassed perspective of how the Montreal Screwjob really went down). Hopefully his memory is sharper than I think it is.

Think he'll talk about how he got his shiner that he sported at Wrestlemania 9?

Didn't he already "write" one lie-filled "autobiography?" Hopefully this one will go over the time he was crucified for the sins of all mankind.

"Didn't he already 'write' one lie-filled 'autobiography?' Hopefully this one will go over the time he was crucified for the sins of all mankind."

Hahaha -- I thought the same thing when I read this.

All he's going to do is reprint the Bible, replacing every instance of "Jesus" with "The Hulkster".
