Over the weekend, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla learned that "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson had contracted a staph infection, which requires immediate treatment, and would put him out of action for the immediate future. Unfortunately, this immediate future also includes Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's The Secret of Guerrilla Island, taking place this coming Sunday, June 28 at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA. We wish Bryan all the best in his recovery, and we wish that his training partners would participate in better personal hygiene rituals in the future.
Due to the last minute nature of this news, it has been difficult to find an all-around viable replacement for a wrestler that many consider to be the best in the world, but if there's one thing Pro Wrestling Guerrilla is known for, it is to make the best of bad situations. With that said, the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla Board of Directors have changed the lineup for The Secret of Guerrilla Island to what is widely believed to be the best, and most kick-ass, possible solution.
The Secret of Guerrilla Island takes place this Sunday, June 28 at 5:00PM at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA, and will feature:
* No Disqualification Match: Necro Butcher vs. Joey Ryan
* Kenny Omega vs. Roderick Strong
* El Generico vs. Scott Lost
* Chuck Taylor vs. Human Tornado
* Pro Wrestling Guerrilla World Tag Team Champion Nick Jackson vs. Davey Richards
* The Cutler Brothers (Brandon & Dustin Cutler) vs. Malachi "CK" Jackson & Jerome "LTP" Robinson
* Plus the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla debut of Johnny Goodtime!
Pro Wrestling Guerrilla's The Secret of Guerrilla Island takes place Sunday, June 28, 2009, at 5:00 PM at American Legion Post #308 in Reseda, CA. American Legion Post #308 is located at 7338 Canby Ave., Reseda, CA 91335. General Admission tickets are $20 and will be available at the door. Please take the belt off Hero. It feels like he can never make shows anymore. And where is Matt Jackson? His brother gets half the Wolves and he gets nothing? Boo-urns!

I'm kind of a fan of PWG, but these guys can't catch a break. It seems like EVERY card they've put out in the past 2 years has been changed due to no shows, injuries, prior engagements etc.

and from someone who has yet to miss a live show in the past year and a half, there has yet to be a bad one!!!

As someone who hasn't missed a show in over FOUR years PWG is starting to become a little stale. Hero as champ was good but he's been off half the shows and is busy with Japan and other places. And the one thing that made PWG fun was some great storylines like Dragon vs Steen and the tag title run of Davey and Dragon. Now everything seems repetitive and there's nothing new going on. Not trying to bash the company but at some point in time try pushing a local like Scott Lost

I sure hope Danielson's back in shape to do the NOAH tour in Japan next month! Compared to that, what they have him doing in American indies is Limburger Cheese.

What are you talking about? Hero was at DDT4, 100, and 99. Also, maybe Matt has something to do that day. I seriously doubt PWG would just book Nick if both him and Matt were availible.

Well Malachi is a real life Jackson brother too. Is two out of three not enough for you!?
